This really put things in perspective of me. As an African American woman I was interested in moving to Canada because you hear so many great thing but to see that I still will be facing the same things is definitely a wake up. I know it happens everywhere I was just hoping it would be better and more tolerable.

I'm an immigrant from El Salvador, I got in Canada with refugee status. I'm not rich or have a wealthy family. I have lived in both US and Canada, I have been in Canada for a long time now and would never go to the US. I also live in Edmonton and it is not even close to anything like they say it is. For them to say it's cold why would you stay. I say it's better than getting framed by corrupt cops.

Okay. A lot of people here have no clue how the immigration system works both in the US and in Canada. “He should just have come here legally”. Well, most of the time a legal path to emigrating to the US/Canada just does not exist, and its getting more and more impossible to be granted asylum. In the US you can’t just apply for a work visa, you can’t just apply for a green card. You got to be eligible to apply for it. For a work visa you need a job offer first, you need proof of income and most of the time the employer will have to prove they couldn’t find an American to take the position. To get a green card you either have to get married to an American, invest at least $500,000 or try applying for asylum (which is almost impossible to get nowadays). ALSO to apply for asylum you need to be either inside the US or at a US port of entry. Try to be less “patriotic” and more empathetic. People flee their countries because of war, violence, cartels, gangs, terrorism, etc. They are desperate and want to protect their families and have a better life. If you were in their shoes and staying in your home country put your family in great harm you would have done the same thing. People need to stop judging, stop being selfish and start leading with empathy.

I am white and I have been discriminated by minorities. I don't see the point of this all races favor there own. Asains would do better for another Asian. Same goes for all races.

There is lot of emotion in this piece, but not very much context or fact. Indigenous people suffer from addictions and mental illness more than the rest of Canada due -inter generational trauma, and resulting loss of dignity. While racism exists today, even if we were to eradicate entirely, indigenous people would still need help due to the damage done in the past. The solution is not fomenting more bitterness and resentment. This is not an easy fix and indigenous people need to be part of it. We need to find a solution where they can rediscover their identity, foster healthy norms within their own nation, while also being part of this nation. Look up Durkheim. Defunding the police is an utterly idiotic idea. Police need more training, and hence more funding, to help them do a better job.

This video only need to be two seconds here’s how I’m going to conclude it Canada has better health care the us have a really bad health care system USA has more crime more expensive if Education and overall Canada is a better place to live and the us sucks even if I wasn’t Canadian I would probably say that Canada Is better

Many immigrants came to a white country. They should integrate, become Canadians, respect its culture and language. If this is not what they want, it would be better for them to return where they came from. They should not create problems for themselves and Canada. This is fair for everyone.

The unspoken assumption seems to be that racism is a white problem. Yet across the years I have listened to Black and Chinese people express opinions which, coming from a white person, would have meant a day in court charged with the willful promotion of hatred.\n\nFurthermore, the young woman who has difficulty with people asking where she is from might want to consider the possibility that the other party is genuinely interested in learning more about her as a person. I am a white British-Canadian and am not in the least little bit offended when people ask me about my origins.\n\nIndeed, listening to immigrants and new Canadians share their life experiences and outlooks on things has gone a long way in shaping my own opinions as to how Canada can be a better country than it is now.\n\nCase in point; I have heard immigrants and new Canadians from nations as diverse as Jamaica, Trinidad, Nigeria, Ukraine, and the Philippines compare childrens' education in Canada with children's education in their countries of origin. Guess which looks better. Hint, hint, it isn't Canada.\n\nFolks, we need to be listening.

well to be honest, a marketing guy said, that he has two appartments free on the first dude and one appartment free on the second dude.....isnt that.....good? would be better to switch the order of the visit. and the 10$ difference by a different contractor was probably mor elikly corruption by this guy than actual racism.\n\n\n\n\nthese test results dont show racial bias, but simply the facial recognision of your mind to identify white or black people, thereby have a greater cultural and social preference to come into contact with these people. the test actual showed never racism. its showes social stereotypical mindsets. to combine these stereotypes with claims, that are unjustified to a person is prejudging and by a racial mindset of reasoning its is racism.

So... I have two daughters that were in the same high school in a town called Port McNeil. One, older and european descended and the younger, indigenous. My older daughter would frequent the local grocery store for her lunch regularly. When her younger sister began attending the same high school, she decided to join here sister at that store for lunch. Understand that my older euro daughter had been doing this every other day for the last year without incident or being approached once. The day she showed up with her sister, they were accosted by a woman who’d been “stocking the shelves” in every isle they entered and told, “you have to leave, I have better things to do than follow you around for an hour!”\nMy indigenous wife wanted to prove to me just how prevalent this was by asking me to stand an isle away from her in walmart in a near by city and sure enough, there was a person arranging the shelves a few meters away from her. This happened over and over. Shopping while indigenous is a thing.

You would think adults, grown people, would know better than to act like this! Glad I raised my children to understand that we are all brothers and sisters under God

No healthcare is absolutely free it is taxpayer-funded would be a better way of saying it

when i was looking at college back in the late '70's, i was seriously thinking of crossing the st lawrence and save a bundle by attending mcgill. drexel won me over with their co-op program but i still think i'd would had been better off going to montreal instead.

I'm a white guy who lived in another country that wasn't a white majority country. There is discrimination in western countries, but there are ways to deal with it. The discrimination I had to deal with every day was much more than this, but nobody wants to know about that. The way I lived for those several years was to realize that I was different and I just had to maximize dealing with good people and when I knew that I would have to deal with something like having to get an apartment, I took that countries national with me knowing I would get a better deal. I was grabbed by officers at night and threatened. basically whatever is faced here, I had on a regular basis. At first, it pissed me off, but later, I came up with a way to maximize my life to get the best treatment I could. I didn't think I would be coming back to America, but eventually, I came back for more schooling and ended up staying.

Maybe its time to ask those questions about what what islam actually believes in? Was muhammed really a prophet? Confront them head on! Without Islam world would be a better place.

It be better if the face was not covered. Its creates undo fear. It creates security issues. It creates issues with ID. We live in a time of hyper sensitivity to any reference to men and women being different. Islam doesn't bend to social trends, and this upsets people. I just wish feminist and politians would let women choose for themselves. I wish people who passionately oppose Islam would equally try to understand Islam.

I’m confused about something. \nIf there’s not many customers in the store and they’re ones that are just looking around for almost 30 minutes and theres a bunch of workers, wouldn’t they be normal to ask “Can I help you” a lot because they are bored and actually want to do something helpful at their job...? \nI used to help in a library if anybody was looking for something I’d try to help them so that they could find what they’re looking for right away instead of wasting time. If I saw anybody just browsing or wandering around for almost half an hour I would totally ask to see if I could help them. Better to try than not help at all. Why get paid to do nothing? Isn’t it your job to help? \n\nUnless I know exactly what I’m looking for and I know where it is I will ask for assistance, it’s great when they just come to me so I don’t have to track down somebody myself. That usually takes longer.

I suggest going back too his country of origin and vote for politician's that will reform his government. It's crazy people from poorer countries keep electing socialist governments. While they inevitably must leave to Western countries. Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina. They should all be 1st world countries. Go back and vote right. Not left. I wonder what would happen if all Canadians moved to Mexico and all Mexicans moved to Canada. Which country would be better off. It is not the land that defines a country, it is the people. Look in the mirror. Maybe a few less siesta's and more 10 hour work days?

@kurt Haas I don't think that tax evasion mean that you give your taxes and if Social Security money away and never get them back. But yes he is guilty off trying to better his family life by living here illegally and he is guilty of using a fake Social Security number to get a low- paying job. I believe thats B.S.  I believe every country on earth the people expect more out of there own people is what it is... i also think its like something people do subconiously they dont even know there doing it probably . I bet if a white guy went to africa and marketplace did the exact same thing there with a white guy and a black guy the black guy would get the better deals.. As an American Citizen and Veteran, I use to wonder why so many family members and former soldiers would stay overseas after the military. That is till it was my turn..! I had my culture shock on my return to the States, I had gotten use to being judged on my merit and personality there instead of my color here. Hey, we even discriminate against our own race at times. Life is, What YOU Make It and How YOU Take It... Canada isn't as bad as here and other places I've been.

If i felt that unwelcome and rejected in another country, i would keep my butt home! I'm sorry but if God birthed you in a certain country, stay home, man up and fight to change it for better! I hate to say it but the freebies from the left in western countries is too tempting !

As a Mexican American I have faced all types of racism from people of different races, including my own. I lived in Mexico for a while when I was young and would get bullied by kids who knew I was born in the U.S. Teachers also treated me different; some treated me worse than they treated the other kids, and others favored me because I was American. When I moved to Philadelphia I attended a school that was predominantly black and asian. I was the only hispanic in my class. At the time Spanish was my main language and my English was “rusty,” which led to constant bullying from classmates. They would call me “dookie face,” tell me to “go back to my country,” and even had some girls put gum on my hair. I would cry every day. I later on moved to Chicago to an area that was mostly hispanic, and that didn’t stop the bullying, either. After I finally refined my English, I no longer wanted to speak Spanish unless it was to my parents. Yes, I guess the constant bullying pushed me to feel like I had to separate myself from my hispanic heritage. When my hispanic classmates spoke to me in Spanish I only responded in English, which would make them mad and they would think that I thought I was “better than them.” Anyway, that was long ago and now as an adult I can reflect on these things so that I don’t make the same mistakes. I get along with everyone and the only thing that changes how I feel about someone is their character, not their appearance.

Trust me the only reason I would never move to Canada would be coz of Punjabi’s. Canada doesn’t look like Canada anymore but more like Punjab and it’s not gonna get any better if they don’t stop letting people come in. Canada gotta stop letting every Tom dick and Harry come in. And yes I am myself a Punjabi. These people are taking the opportunity of being able to come to Canada for granted. They don’t know how to respect the laws of land. They didn’t know it back in India and are not willing to learn either.

If you know when exactly they had been starting to raise their shady resolutions, you will realise that it predates 9-11, which says a lot of how connected and well orchestrated they are.\nThey know our weaknesses better than us, and they are using it to their full advantage at will.\nOn top of these three angles of attack, they also have religious people hanging around the government, providing advices or should i say, constantly reminding the governments that their feelings are hurt whenever someone uses the words like islamic terrorism or muslim perpetrators. Not to mention that they also have their 'agents' holding positions in the governments. Of course, if you were to watch closely, these ministers are covertly trying to advance islam hiding behind multi-culturalism while they appear like they are doing something for their countries. And of course, their people would naturally know who to vote for.\nIf you realised, the terrorist attacks are not as frequent as 2016/2017. Its part of their damage control phase.\nBut they will still continue to do what they are supposed to do, escalation of demands, coming together to get rid of people of threat to them, crying victimhood and playing the race card, until they have established sharia law in every nation. If you think sharia laws is only meant for them, you are so wrong. They can legitimately get rid of us simply by applying their laws. Its a very very very big Trojan horse. Every country that receives these immigrants experience the same set of problems, and it always end with them trying to establish sharia law. Ask yourself this, they all come from different countries, they all end up in different countries and yet they all say the same thing, at almost the same time? Its a worldwide movement. Lebanon also used to accept refugees. And they are applying the same proven formula this time.\n\nI had seen a video before about someone saying they started this worldwide plan somewhere around 1995, but i had forgotten which video it was already.\n\nAll non-islamic countries should come together secretly and derive a once and for all plan. Ultimately, besides saving ourselves, we should also save them from clutches of the devil, literally, which demands their full and blind submission. It is not hard to proof that their god is actually a plagiarizing false god, just don't ask me to type it out here.\n\nGOD bless anyone of you reading this.

It is NOT ok to violate the borders and the sovereignty of another country just as it is not ok to break into someone's house. I am a legal immigrant, and it would NEVER occur to me to enter illegally or to overstay my visa had I been denied legal status in the US. Please go home and put your energy and intelligence into making YOUR country a better, safer place for your kids. A country is nothing but a PRODUCT of its people and their culture, values and belief system. It is YOUR home culture that makes your home country the horrible, dangerous, corrupt place that it is. Bring the western culture that you learned here home with you and work hard to shift things for the better in your home country.

The mistake isn't the fact that he attempted to immigrate, but the fact that they tried to get asylum status. His family would have had a much better chance of staying if they had tried to enter as workers and students.

By these comments, Canadians hate immigrants even more than American white supremacists. This man is scared for himself and his family. His case is just ignorance. He doesn’t know the proper ways to go about it. Him getting a lawyer and what not has showed he’s a bit smarter than many immigrants seeking asylum but most cases people don’t know the proper way to migrate out of their countries. They just know that there are better and safer opportunities elsewhere. As for everyone whining about why he doesn’t speak English, not EVERYONE CAN LEARN AT THE SAME PACE. There’s people that live in other countries for years and only know enough to get around and then theres people that just pick up on languages In less than a year. The language doesn’t matter. I’m sure he knows enough to communicate with people. I’m more surprised at the amount of people that law this and law that. Yes there are laws that should be followed but do people even consider morality? I hope none of you alls countries go to war or are over taken and you have to try to seek asylum in another country because I highly doubt you all would escape the ‘proper’ way. Most of you in the comments are sick and sad and will never truly understand the despair these people feel until you’re put in their position.
