Most of these international students are not even going to school ( most are India ) ??) they go to work or stay home . Or work permits in a company not even exist

This has been known for at least 50 years. Nothing new. As well, aren't international students supposed to finish their studies and go back home anyways?

The reality is that many skilled newcomers were underemployed and probably unable to thrive financially due to low incomes and the high cost of living. With the little they have it’s difficult to remain in Canada. Some will return to their home country and others will go elsewhere that is more affordable

The new immigrants are finding Canadians not so happy and friendly as advertised, since covid the streets are full of homelessness and sad faces, when you go to the grocery store the bill will put a frown on your face, the price of staple foods from back home is unaffordable in Canada, I'd flee back home to if I had a place to go, Canada is moving backwards at a rapid pace and only getting worse. I must mention the brutal cold winters.

Are they leaving because they are actually illegals? If so eh good riddance. Also if you are a student get your time in and go home. In the future though how about our schools cater to the population and stop educating the rest of the world as that is not our responsibility.

There's over 40 FOOD TRUCK all over Brampton 18 in Kennedy road alone. Right now the unemployment rate is 4.1%, if 12M illegal immigrants get deported, who largely work in food processing, constructions, and healthcare support, who is going to take those jobs? We have 7M unemployed and if we deport 12M, that's 5M jobs at a minimum that will no longer be filled. You think food costs a lot now, what happens to the cost of food without them? Or the cost of building new housing, it certainly won't go down? Or the cost of taking care of granny in the old folks home, is she coming home to the family to provide round the clock care?

Deportation doesn't mean they have to go back to their home country, deportation just means they can't stay here.

International students are just foreign students. They are NOT refugees. The deal is they go home after school and only some get to stay here. We are also getting too big numbers of some cultures. The numbers should be balanced so a few cultures don't dominate immigration.

Come to Surrey BC! I've lived here all my life, and live about 7km's from the house I was brought home as a baby, so I've never left this city, and I, like that gentleman and lady you talked to, often feel like I am the only Caucasian in Surrey! Go by any elementary school, and you'd find it difficult to see any hair colour than straight black! Like when I went to school, so many now are driven to school by parents or grandparents that where brought over to Canada as well, so traffic around schools very often is chaotic at best! The once peaceful sound of birds singing, is now taken up with sirens, from ambulance and fire trucks, it's hideous! I too would love to move, but we keep asking, 'where'...as we'd like to be in an area with just caucasians, to feel 'at home' again! It's not that I don't like the people, but most in Surrey, are much more well off than the average Canadian, driving high end cars, and even their teenage kids have high end vehicles. So, like many Canadians, I'd just like to see normalcy & common sense once again, and a complete end to immigration, until ALL of our crisis's are taken care of!

What people don't understand is that you can't just start a process in any country unless you have and meet the grounds for starting a process. Each process has its own regulations. Example: For asylum to take place, you have to prove you have a well founded fear of persecution from your home country due to your race, religion, or political opinion. Most of the illegals claiming asylum base on economic hardship, or violence from local gangs, will not win an asylum case. Wanting a better life for your family is not considered valid grounds. The same with legal status: You have to first become a resident which means you have to be petitioned by an immediate family member ( A Parent or sibling with a legal status in the US). Depending who petitioned you, it can be a very lengthy process, up to 26 yrs if your sibling submitted the application! Process is much faster for spouses and kids of US Citizens. Only after several years as a legal resident can you apply for Citizenship. Spouses married to US Citizens is 3 yrs, IF you know english. If you don't you might have to wait till you are 65, when you qualify for the test to be in your native language, but only if you have been a resident more than 20 yrs and so forth. As you can see doing it legally, is a lengthy process, but all these caravans think they can just march in and let the countries accept them without going thru the process and it has caused major problems all the way around. That's why the laws must be enforced to eliminate these invasions!

Just go home and apply for permanent resident like we do before we become a citizen.

I am a third (if not more) generation Ontario resident. I’m almost thirty and I have little to show for it. No, I haven’t always made the best decisions, but even friends of mine who have are in no better shape. You can have one thing in life; choose kids, career, or house. You cannot have it all without running yourself into the ground. As much as I don’t want to leave everyone I know, I can see no desirable future here. It will be more of the same; work and go home to dream. I don’t plan on leaving the country, but I’ve just about resigned myself to the reality that I can’t stay here.

I am truly disappointed in a lot of immigrants who after becoming citizens have that tupe of attitude . They’ll charge them rent to sleep on the back porch. Even in the dead of winter. Dana, the look on your face reflects deep sadness and concern about the 15 million illegal immigrants facing deportation. You know, you can go down to the immigration office and file sponsorship papers for a couple of them and welcome them into your home if that would ease some of the pain you're feeling—but I have a feeling you won't.
