I have been living in Germany for 7 years now. I am only here because of my husband as he is doctor and he is a german citizen. However, living here has been horrible most of the time. Germans are not the most welcoming nor friendliest. On top that Germans complain why AÜSLANDER are not integrating the language. 1st it is hard and 2nd i think the english which be adopted into schools. Hopefully maybe it will attract more Skilled immigrants. Who has the time to speak a new language if you are looking for a job.

As much as I could make more money by living in the States no amount of money could make the anxiety of potential school shootings worth it. I know my kids have essentially 0% chance of that in Canada. Also getting cancer won't ruin me and my whole extended family financially. Student visa to Thailand, you can get it from Laos Thai embassy. I have done this once, you go to Thailand as tourist, register with a school, to study anything, thai language if you want, example 2 times a week 3 hours each time, super minimal study. The school will make a bus tour with the students to Laos embassy, 1 night there and you will have student visa.\nIf you want to tske it super easy, you can also study english language, just to make it easy, but of course learning thai would be helpful.\nIt wasn't a big school with lots of students, just a small offline building with 30-50 foreigner students,\nBest part is that you can go instantly, no need to wait in your home country for months to get a visa.\nI think you can stay 5 years with student visa if you continue your study, maybe you need a paper from the school once a year to proof you didn't drop out.

Canada is really still not that bad of a place to live. I am 38 years old suffer with epilepsy own my own house, I am married. My job is Medicore paying and very hard work. Me and my wife have plenty of disposable income at the end of the month to do what we want with or save it. A lot of people need to learn how to budget money. Stay away from credit cards, personal loans , expensive cars basically useless shit. Yes canada is expensive but there ways around it. Example stop living in expensive cities. Find skill sets around your job if you want extra money trust me there many of them. I make more money just on my hobbies then I do working, guess what tax free. Health care not the best but it is still really not that bad yet. Point being if I can handle Canada you can to trust me I am nobody special. I just live within my means and have hustles on the side with just high school education.

I love Canada. But I have told my kids to see a living elsewhere. It’s not a change of political party will fix the place…there are some structural issues from all levels of government to large businesses and schools…etc that are really f’d up in Canada. It's not just Canada that has fallen, the WEFs tentacles stretch far and deep. The UK, is broken, my home of 52 years is no longer home. My wife and I have decided to leave, there is no way on God's green earth we would send our daughter to school in the $hithole that is called England. We are researching like mad, currently top of our list is Bulgaria, Albania, Mexico. It's a huge scary decision, but we can't live like this in this broken land, it is heart breaking to see the country you loved torn apart slowly and painfully piece by piece. Since my mother was German when I was born, I just recently found out that I'm also a German citizen from birth through descent through my mother. I've been living here in the US since high school when I moved from Victoria to Tucson, Arizona. I eventually got my US green card (permanent residency. I then moved to Madison, Wisconsin and became a US Citizen. At this point, I am a dual US and Canadian citizen in addition to being German citizen as well. I am applying for my confirmation of German citizenship through the German consulate in Chicago which would then allow me to obtain a German passport for access to live and work freely in EU and Schengen countries. I went to The Netherlands last January and I really feel in love with the Dutch culture and lifestyle. I am planning on spending at least a few years there as soon as I get my German passport. \nMy relatives in Canada keep telling me how lucky I am to be a US Citizen as they all say how terrible the situation has become in Canada. I am surprised since I've always considered Canada to be one of the top places to live in the world. I haven't lived in Canada for a long time and I've been doing relatively good here in the USA. So many Canadians in the same situation — perhaps use your Canadian passport ? so many better places for you to be… find a nice job across the border in the US — it’s so easy to get a TN work Visa, or work tax free in the UAE, or build a nice career in Singapore. I had the same problem with Australia — it’s my home, and my heart will always fondly call it home forever. Australia is a big country with small job market, generally ignorant (but nice) people and limited economic diversity. One gets proper civic amenities only in either Melbourne or Sydney e.g., top notch medical care, a wide variety of groceries etc. Taxation is very high and although some people will tell you “we are well taken care of…” that is not true nowadays. The Australian Government’s policies over the last 40 years destroyed manufacturing, the economy, working conditions and inflated the property market. A reasonable 2-bedroom apartment in a Sydney suburb could cost you Au$2000-3000 in rent or Au$500,000+ to buy — and that goes higher as you get closer to downtown Sydney. The problem is that incomes are not high enough in Australia and housing quality is less than average overall for these ridiculous prices. Food, tolls and petrol cost a lot, although Sydney and Melbourne’s fresh food markets give you better prices than you’ll find in most other cities. My wife and I had a combined income of over Au$300,000/year while we lived there. We finally left Australia and moved to the US because even with our relatively high income we could only have an average house for around Au$1.8 million, we couldn’t fill up the tub and have a proper bath because of water restrictions, our kids would get an average schooling and their only dream in life would be to one day own a house. We didn’t want to live like that, so we wrapped up and left for good. The US is much better for skilled people — I don’t mean plumbers, tilers, roofers or landscapers, although life is good for them too. I’m sure someone will reply to this comment about the gun violence in the US. All I can say is that in the US we have the option to defend ourselves whereas in Australia we are expected to quietly die if someone kicks us in the head, stabs us or shoots us. Education is free, but their school system is almost two hundred years old (Prussia/Kaiserzeit). If your kids are not well integrated, you risk that they won't make it to the Gymnasium and, therefore, to university. I was teaching physics in their universities. These are sick places with very unmotivated joung teachers (it's difficult to become a professor there).

One true answer: the bureaucracy and descrimination are intense and unecessary. I am an American, I have been living in Germany for 11 years. I have a wonderful German husband and two kids born here. I speak C1 level German and I am integrated. I am fully trained high school teacher. I am in a 'high needs field' which is special education. Does the system here need me? Yes.(especially beacause I am living a in a high needs, urban area) Does the system want me? No. You are consistently told you are not enough.

If the new comers can then only work part-time, as most Germans do since services are terrible, then this problem cannot be resolved without a very large number of immigrants per year. This will not be politically viable for several reasons such as housing, school places, among others.

Good health insurance? Seriously, the health system in Germany is awful. You receive so many letters by post, everything takes way too long. It’s an old school country. The Netherlands is much more modern and less bureaucratic.

Sadly NZ and Australia have the same issues - so many immigrants over the last 20 years - no new hospitals, schools or infrestructure, our population has grown by 1 million in 15 years - NZers living on the streets because housing has been pushed to some of the highest prices in the world, and immigrants taking low-skill and service-worker jobs. The real problem is the dishonest people and frudulent rate sky rocketed.\n\nInternational student program was announced by conservative party in 2008 for international students to obtain a work visa that could potentially lead to pr.\nDuring 2008~2015 there was virtually 0 problems in immagrations with an EASY requirements with just 1 year work experience and finished college/university.\n\nThe student came here just to work problem we have at the moment doesn't make any sense math wise.\n\nAn actual college will charge 22k$ per year as a cheap cheap cheap option, university starts from 40k$ and goes up from there, on top of that the student need to purchase an GIC program at a Canadian bank with 10~15k$ and maybe also a meal plan in school BEFORE they even arrives.\nby adding up the cost, the person will spend 100~300k$ withing the first 2~4 years WITHOUT having any properties in the end, doing cash jobs will NOT even cover up the cost.

How is it not about population growth? Especially bringing in 1 million immigrants per year? One think Germany could start and do is to fix the university application for international students. in theory they are super attractive with almost no tuition (ok 99% of courses are in German). But it runs on a German cycle months later than most other countries.... You can't start applying before May 15th for the next school year. that is 7 months later than the UK, Netherlands, Belgium etc, Meaning that by the time applications start in Germany, if you applied in those others countries you most likely got an offer already. In fact, my son applied also in Germany and only today got his high school diploma certified. took Uni-assist the government portal 5 weeks to do that. now he can submit that to the uni where he applied and who knows when they will make a decision. meanwhile he has other offers in equally good schools.

I can't believe all the nonsense that was said on this video! Of course you have to learn the language, if you want to work in Germany!!! Has any of you tried to immigrate to Canada or the US? Nobody is going to give you a job, unless you can communicate in the local language! That is the same all over the world! European union countries have all got good social services and health systems. You want to benefit from the system? The first generation of immigrants fight to learn the language and integrate, BUT their kids will get that for free and be integrated through the school system.

It's a waste of time learning German as an adult skilled worker through language schools. Most of the world speaks English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish so working in the UK, France, Portugal, and Spain as skilled workers is more economical than working in Germany. Germany should learn from Benelux and Scandinavian countries by adopting English as its working language in the civil service and private businesses instead.

Honestly, who cares? We have bigger problems with immigration mainly of international students who are making a mockery of the system. The ones who can read and write in English or French are fine. The problem lies within those from some regions of the world where they cheat the English testing requirments to get into school.

As usual the Guardian is spinning a lie. People are not anti-immigration. They are anti-Trudeau and his insane his policy of flooding the country with poorly vetted people in such huge numbers that he has created a catastrophic housing shortage, overwhelmed an already broken medicare system, overloaded our schools and at a cost of countless billions of borrowed dollars. To answer the question with another question, why do you think that adding 10 million immigrants to a country with a relatively small population in just 11 years was going to turn out well? \n\n10 million is roughly one-third of what Canada's population was 11 years ago. It is one-quarter of today's population. How was this not going to cause housing shortages and stress the social/health and education systems, overcrowd schools, and clog roads and public transport? How was it not going to grow homelessness and tent cities?\n\n10 million in 11 years were simply too many people in too short a time period. One has to ask whether this was deliberate or whether the federal government is lacking in powers of reasoning. I suspect both.

Canada has to start recognising degrees from other countries. Here in B.C. we have emergency rooms closing overnight due to lack of staffing. We need doctors and nurses yet the barriers for those immigrating to get their degrees recognised mean many never qualify.\n\nCanada also needs to look at who we are admitting in and to terminate the family unification policy. When immigration was helping the country grow there was a different demographic coming in. Often it was single men or young married couples. As they came by themselves they assimilated into the mosiac of the country. When you concentrate on immigrants from one country instead of assimilating they setup ethnic communities. \n\nLook into what study groups have said that is contributing to gang violence. It's ethnic groups that have the grandparents, parents and grand kids all living in one home. The grandparents want the grand kids to adhere to their native culture. Unfortunately by time you get to the grand kids they are Canadian. They speak English/French depending where they live with little interest in speaking their ethnic language. There is cultural conflict within the home hence street life is where they find love and caring.\n\nSome cultures are not as community minded. Part of the high cost of renting/housing is based on greed not need. In my own community I know of apartment units now renting at 2,500 - 4,000/month owned by the same people that even five years back you could have rented for 500 - 800. There is no justification for that percentage of increase other than greed.\n\nJob opportunities. Summer employment for school kids is going down yearly. You see local business that use to hire students over the summer month claiming they can't find any workers. They bring in TFW yet Canadian students can't find work. You can tell the owners nationality of a business by the nationality of the workforce. A local store bought by a east Indian two years ago which at the time had a diverse workforce is now entirely staffed by east Indians. Yet who screams racist? \n\nCanada definitely needs to reconsider its immigration policy and bring in major changes.
