My best friend started her immigration process in 2017. She was finally green lit to come to America in 2019 after marrying her long time husband over in Europe and then getting the paperwork done here in the US during that time Covid hit, and when they closed all the borders, they stopped all of the immigration process to America meaning that she was stuck in Europe away from her husband for three years. Finally last year after making her go back through the process getting all of her paperwork re-done, paying another $5000 she was able to come to the US just last month she got the start of her paperwork for her green card to work here in the US and become a full US citizen. It’s been a long process. It infuriates me that people like that who are honest, hard-working people who want to come to the US and start a life after being married, proven to have jobs and want to pay taxes and support a system. That’s willing to take them in get held up because of people like this want to come here illegally Big cause of whatever the reasons are trying to circumvent and skip over the people who are trying their hardest to do it the right way in the first place, dust dragging the system further down.

My heart breaks when the social worker would pressure me to discharge frail, sickly aging pts within nte 48 hour time frame bec medicare wont cover them and they are not eligible forrehab facilities as their status are observationinstead if inpatients while the non-citizens can just drop their chronically ill family members bec they cant take care if them as they are all working. They wont even claim them bec they are “busy”.\nThey can just do whatever they want as they dont have to worry about paying for hospital bills or have credit companies go after them. We are also taking care of their US born children but they are not paying taxes. Our co’untry is in the brink if bankruptcy bec of misplaced sympathy. If we really want to help these people, give them work visa so they can be legal and taxable, or better help their countries to help with drug wars, etc. We cannot sustain these kind of unconditional financial bleed for so long. Before we know it, the whole population outside the Us, have transplanted themselves here for free and without fiscal responsibilities.

Tonight I watched a man digging through trash looking for food while I was getting gas. He couldn’t speak a word of English. I asked him if he was looking for food and he was embarrassed and said I was just looking for something. I gave him $5 and said get some food and he gave me a fist bump and smiled. After going to back to my car I told my daughter to wait and went into the convenience store after him and told him to get whatever he wanted to eat and I’d pay. I had to keep asking him to take more he refused most of what I offered. \nI paid for the food and told him God loves you and may He keep you safe and fed. He said thank you in English and I walked out to my car and cried the whole ride home while my daughter was silent bc she knew why I was crying. I could tell he was ashamed and it broke my heart even more. I think you ladies are way out in left field and you really don't know what you're talkin about. Unfortunately for some people it doesn't work out for whatever reason usually because they do not want to assimilate very well. I grew up in Ontario to a french-canadian father and an Italian mother in my life in Canada was so perfect said if I had to dream up a better life I could not have done so. I grew up playing all the sports and enjoyed all the different sports and the changes of seasons. My parents had a summer home on the st-lawrence river and every summer we water-ski swam fished, play golf in the morning and barbecues every night right on the water. Even though my grandfather was in the hotel business I was all about sports and enjoying everything about it. I grew up in a town of about 50 thousand about 40 miles from Montreal. When I wanted some great nightlife just drove a short drive to Montreal and it had everything did anyone could want in Nightlife. I have lived in United States for forty years and I can tell you that it really isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Heaven forbid should you get some kind of catastrophic illness you are screwed. I knew a woman who work for travelers insurance for 30 years at the best insurance a money could buy had suffered a couple of strokes and was on the verge of going broke had she not died when she died. People think that insurance continues to pay his long as you're ill and nothing could be further from the truth. This lady was going to have to sell her house to continue paying for round-the-clock care had she not died when she did. United States middle class is getting wiped out. I've seen enough poverty and hardship in this country to last a lifetime. I find greed to be running rampant in this country. When I grew up in Canada there was always the grass is greener on the other side and when I did move over to the other side the US that is I can tell you unequivocally the dead grass is not greener on the other side. There are more millions and millions of people here that are one or two paychecks away from being homeless. And we're talkin 2023. Now let's talk about violence. There is a mass murder in the United States every single day of the year. And a mass murder is defined by four or more people being killed by one person at one time. Food is very expensive and shelter is also out of control and non affordable to most people. Again I find United States being able to paint a much Rosier picture then does really exist. And there are more con artists and thieves , Crooks, con-artists, bamboozlers, cheats and scammers then anywhere that I've ever been. And I will say this is it it ain't getting any better and I don't see it ever getting better. I find it is everybody out for themselves no matter who they cheat. I live in Southern California and I can tell you that night life where I live is non-existent. Understand that LA and Hollywood they always have to glamorize everything to sell it to tourists. Just remember that things today are not what they were 40 years ago. Middle-class people in Canada would also be just middle-class people in the US. But if your life means anything to you as far as safety and raising a family then Canada wins hands down end of discussion. People that say Canada is boring is because they are boring. That's what I found to be pretty standard across the board. Life is what you make of it. But I will say that you gals definitely need to move away if you don't like Canada. Do not let the door hit your ass on the way out. And just for your information Canada ranks annually as one of the top countries in the world to immigrate to. Canada is the second largest country in the world by land area and next to Saudi Arabia has the third largest oil Reserves in the world. Canada has huge amount of freshwater which most of the rest of the world seems to be lacking and having spent my Summers on the Saint Lawrence River one of the Great Rivers in this world. Interestingly enough, much of LA's racial segregation can be be attributed to the city's reliance on cars. LA's vast freeway system was strategically designed to divide and separate certain neighborhoods from others. So let's say an individual grows up in one of these neighborhoods and for whatever reason, never gains immediate access to a vehicle.. that person can basically go their entire life without crossing over into another region of the city/ county... sAs someone who has experienced living in both America and Canada. One thing I think Aba and Preach forgot to mention is the cost of produce. In Canada and more specifically Montreal the cost of Produce is higher than anywhere else in north America (From my limited experience). A Block of cheese costs a tank of gas. I have lived in a few places around the world and I have to say the cost of food for whatever reason is so much higher in Quebec. Items can easily be twice the price here.

The analysis about Healthcare is correct about demand being more than supply. But what is not really understood is that the Canadian rules make it that way, not lack of medical professionals. In other countries with national health care like UK, you can legally pay for extra care. In Canada, doctors are fined if they try to provide extra care or even want to work extra medical jobs. So you have to ration medical care and care is fixed, cannot grow or increase except by whatever the govt plans. Any additional care can only be obtained outside of Canada or else illegally/on the black market if in Canada.

Canada is a great nation and for them to open their hearts and borders (Visa-Free) to the people of South America and Mexico is a great idea. I would like to invite the Canadian government to go to the Texas border or Southern California border and help the migrants there get to Ontario or Quebec or wherever they can place them. Not for everyone, but we get to live on a beautiful island, have our own farm, get heaps of frequent flyer points so get free overseas trips. We've made it work for us. Asians and Indians are a minority, yet someone end up as the highest earners and are overrepresented in medical school, engineering and accouting school. \n\nI feel that there is more to it than just being a minority or having coloured skin...
