I just moved up north Ontario from Orangeville Ontario area and rent up here is cheap and I moved to a bush last year due to homelessness and now CMHA helped me get a place and in this small town I'm in that's falling apart, is now a meth city and it was a huge gold booming town. I got 6 meth dealers on my street lol when the snow leaves I'm back to my bush the CMHA (Canadian mental health association) bought me a 800$ generator and a 200$ rain barrel so I can go live in the trailer again so other homeless can get my apartment

it was all so trudeau can keep getting voted back in its not hard to see i did snow removal went to a guys house finished his driveway he comes out turns out to be from Pakistan or somewhere around there said the government of canada gave them 300000$ he said to start a life i beileve it the place we ended up cleaning was huge and in the expensive part of town,, like ya ok cool i mean were just struggling very fucking badly here fucking trudeau fucking fuck there's helping ppl then there's doing it for a plan for the worst reasons and not actually helping anyone or anything unreal

Here in Moncton New Brunswick its been getting bad over the past few years with homeless camps, yet they are building huge apartment buildings on every possible place they can find space but those are all going to all the immigrants and people moving out here from Quebec and Ontario. I'm a school bus driver and just on Monday while driving my students, there was a group of homeless trying to resuscitate a guy on the sidewalk who looked completely dead with a purple face and this happened maybe 50ft from a local foodbank. They all walk like they are zombified and bent/knelt over. Thanks to woke mayor's and their sanctuary cities we are seeing this crap and to Trudeaus and his Liberal governments immigration policies.

Canada cannot make its own money. So what does it do? It has to figure out unethical ways to bring in money. This is done by bringing in immigrants. There is multiple birds with one Stone hit here. Meaning gives immigrants the lie of a better life. So they take all their money that they have in their nation. And they bring it here. That's free money that Canada did not have to work for and now other nations have lost. then they lied to them and tell them that they can get anything they want. For me to get a franchise here while owning other businesses was IMPOSSIBLE 5 yrs ago. But these guys with no credentials are getting it right away. I wasn't allowed to modify my house or rent by law. And they are now allowing all of that. My mother had an international driver's license from France and she had to go through hoops to get her licence here. They are handing things over with no screening to these people which is cause instability and chaos. No structure. They let them bring their huge money here and put into franchises with no credentials. Bank loans free approval no questions asked. Meanwhile, most of those franchises will never make any money. Then they will take that money also, and put it into homes. Rent etc, and this is the part where they basically drain the immigrant money in an instant and put it into Canada economy. Now that you have all these immigrants buying all these businesses. Now you need slave work, so you start Bringing it more immigrants to work those slave jobs. Because in the 1990s, all the way up to 2010. You were encouraging Education. During that time Education was the money Maker. So you kept pushing that. Billions went to universities. Telling people that they'll have a better future. That was the lie of that time. Now you want the same people to work min wage jobs. Now immigration is a bigger Money maker. They say they're bringing in these guys Because they want to work these jobs that a canadians don't want to work. That's because you just made those fake jobs by creating more immigrants to come here have franchises that need minimum wage jobs. But you also promised the rest of us that if we worked hard enough, we will get better jobs. So why would we want to resort to minimum wage jobs on top of you ruining the market for housing inflation taxes etc? How could we even afford while working Minimum wage jobs. And that's why they're bringing people in here. This goes deeper than it seems. socialism. then they get mad At us and demand more taxes and more money. But Canada is a closed system. So how can we afford giving you more than we're making? This insanity has to stop. This chaos needs to stop.

I migrated from the UK and really, things aren't much better at home. That's why i'm sticking it out. London rents are equivalent to Toronto, with a similar average salary. UK taxes also look ok on paper, but wheny you include the hidden stuff it's just as bad as canada. Healthcare also going down the gutter. The only positive the UK has over canada is food is much cheaper and if you are able to work from home, you can live away from big cities and pay much less rent. This huge difference between big cities and towns in the UK doesn't seem to be as noticeable in Canada. For an entire 3 bed house with a garden in the north of england, you could get one for $1000/month easy. But there are no job opportunities there at all, so it really is only for WFHers. But I think these issues are sweeping most of the western world... our economic models are built on infinite growth and can't deal with aging populations with an increasing tax burden.

Its dark and cold 6 months and weather is always unpredictable which has a huge impact on your mood believe it or not. I was born and raised in canada and i dont know where else i would live but the day i get a chance to move out i will run! Canada is expensive your money is never enough and your always in debts fighting every pay check to pay check to make it theough tour weeks. Its dosgustingly ugh

It's become a nightmare here not just for young people but everyone looking for work. These huge line-ups are not even new. For those who remember when Target opened stores here in Ontario and the massive line-ups for those minimum wage part-time jobs! It was insane. This has been going on for over a decade now. But it's even worse than people realize. They neglect to mention that female students at places like U of T turn to prostitution to survive. Not just a few, a significant percentage! There are entire websites devoted to students looking to prostitute themselves to pay rent and tuition! Wake up people! If government wants to get rich off of people, get our pay higher, don't just shovel more into the fire.

They took them in before. It turned into a huge problem and they kicked them out. They're fine with them being where they're located. That's what he wanted to say.

It's a double edged sword. The industry (fast food, food retailing, services) WANT those people, be it international students, refugees or other to work because there is insufficient response from the local population of young people. Even certain restaurants and hotels had to remain CLOSED after the pandemic, because they could not find enough people to work. The government covid money dissuaded the local population from working. It is a huge mistake to admit so many Indian students attending low-credentialed private colleges and then allow them to work 20-30 hours a week. Trudeau and Miller are to blame for this. But at the same time, there was a labour shortage due to the ageging population and the fact that people have fewer kids today. Canada should give greater priority to trained professionals in areas where there is a need, such as construction, education and nursing. People in India, China, eastern Europe and other countries can get very good training in technical colleges, but it is the wealthy families in these countries that don't want their kids working these jobs.

Socialism is a sure way to ruin a country.. socialism targets the middle class by ruthless taxation and endless regulation, while the rich benefit from a huge supply of cheap labor and a demand on housing etc.. \nEnd socialism

The middle income high school kids use to enjoy part time jobs saving for school and then sustain themselves part time during their higher education. Now with the flood of international students, refugees and illegal immigrants they have decimated the part time employment opportunities. The other spin off consequence is the competition for limited housing have allowed the mercenary landlords to jack up the rent beyond the ability for the average person to afford. Trudope and his band of political defectives are responsible for this train wreck. The liberal mission is to flood society with huge numbers of beholding voters with their welfare and support of the newcomers in an attempt to influence and buy the next federal election.

I'm 6th generation Canadian and 90 years old. I've worked and lived in most regions of Canada, including the 3 Territories. Other than your description of our main urban centres, you don't know squat dude. There are many medium and small-sized cities in all the provinces that offer a heck of a lot more than these huge centres.

Sadly, Canada is not longer the country it used to be! \nAffordability is a huge factor, plus the difficulty to enter the job force or find a good job (not only in academia in every field) which so necessary to pay for housing, food etc\nBut also the social and cultural changes has been huge in the past decade. \nAs we see the decline in USA, we can see Canada is following closely and in some areas, we are doing worse.\n20+ years ago Canada have quality of life, that has dropped drastically in every area health services, schools, security, transportation, housing, infrastructure etc. although we pay higher taxes than other countries we do not have the same services.\nLaws restricting liberties and going to the extreme on protecting and impossing other ideologes erosion of freedom of speech, freedom of conscience, freedom of religion etc. \nOn top all that is the huge public debt, lack of transparency, abuse in the spending of many politicians, and corruption.\nAll together has turned living in Canada less disarable for many immigrants and also nationals. Many Canadian are choosing to live abroad or retire abroad.

I have lived in canada my whole life. \nHere are the main hurdles:\n1. Cost of realestate and cost of living. You need white collar wages just to be able to rent, not buy, rent an apartment in most major cities. Cost of homes is insane as well.\n2. Jobs often pay low wages below what is needed to afford to live unless its white collar or trades working overtime hours. The jobs that do pay well often get hundreds of applications making your chances lower.\n3. Dentists cost an arm and a leg. The cost of it is insane unless you have a really good coverage plan from your job. \n4. Healthcare moves at a snails pace. Not good if you have a serious illness or disease.\n5. The climate overall sucks. Its not cold. Its ridiculously cold.\n\nMy advice: Be made of money. \nSeriously though, have a huge savings and have a long term financial plan. Getting jobs that pay a living wage here as newcomers here are HARD to get because they always want Canadian work experience. University education from other countries other than the US, UK, or Australia don't count here. Be prepared to live very humbly unless you are just made of money.\n\nI dont even want to live in canada anymore. I am almost 40 and have very little to show for it despite working full time jobs with overtime my whole life. Looking at going almost anywhere but here. I am a Czech pilot and our company contracts us with different companies. I spent over half a year in Canada between 2018-2020. I have returned for the first time since Corona pandemic and I was shocked by the price increase everywhere. It was not a cheap country back then in my eyes but it costs an arm and a leg just to fill the stomach. Prices have doubled for many comodities since 2018. Sure in Europe it used to be way cheaper than it is now... but here it just blew my mind.\nYet half of the cars on the roads are huge pickups, people are dining out...

As someone who lived in Quebec for 8 years, I can say that Canada has an undeservedly good image abroad. It's a trap for immigrants, where they suck out all their savings and energy. In reality, it's not even a state, it's a corporation where monopolies and associated corrupt politicians rule the roost. Lack of preventive healthcare, huge taxes, unbelievably high prices compared to incomes for everything from food to housing, outdated infrastructure... I hope to find the ways to leave here soon.

Born and day raised here. Immigration is out of control as is all all the social services, bailouts, and specials needs funding. Rhis created a huge debt to income defeciet that anyone with any brains could see coming a mile away. We are also forcing ourselves out of any useful manufacturing and were fooled by the government that mass immigration would solve all the problems. It did the opposite. It was great 30 years ago. Ah this makes me so sad that actual Canadians are leaving their home country. But actually the same is to be said for me. I'm British living in the UK and we are looking to move to Malaysia. Mostly for the sunshine, the culture, my husband is Chinese and there's a big Chinese community there, I'm half Indian and there's a huge Indian community there also. Actually and of course you already know that Malaysia is a Muslim country so I think Malaysia would be a great fit, plus erm hello the weather ????I can't wait to leave cold, wet, grey UK! Healthcare suddenly became a huge problem. Few young people can ever buy a house. even a garbage house can cost a million dollars in major cities. Pensioners cannot even just pay rent ($2,000 for a one bedroom) or their basic pension. Nobody has a good solution for the homeless. Billions of dollars are being sent to foreign countries for some reason. Many degrees outside of doctor or lawyer don't get people jobs.

No surprise.Canadian universities and colleges have, for years, unethically binged on a huge volume of foreign students who pay exorbitant foreign student fees in the hopes of gaining fast tracked immigration. They did this under the blind guise of pro diversity, pro immigration, politics. Canadians who suggested there was a problem were branded as intolerant and silenced. Meanwhile foreign students were being exploited as low cost minimum wage labour by business, packed into overpriced rental housing by exploitative landlords, and milked for huge tuition fees by educational institutions who engaged in unethical recruiting practices.

As a Canadian pleas don't come, its not that we don't want you it's just a huge mess here and we have to fix it.

No surprise there, \n\nCanada is NOT attractive to migrants anymore due to multiple reasons.\n\nSoon a 1 bedroom apartment will probably cost 5000$/month for rent in the Major Cities making it impossible to settle here for newcomers.\n\nThe healthcare system has serious problems due to a lack of Doctors and Nurses who left for better paying jobs in US or Europe.\n\nIf you need immediate Specialist care you will probably have to pay hundreds of dollars just to see someone in the Private sector because the Public Health System has huge waiting lists and is understaffed.\n\nYou won’t be able to get a Government Family Doctor because the remaining ones have thousands of patients already so they’re swamped.\n\nYou can wait even 10 years for a Family Doctor and still won’t get one.\n\nYou can’t be bumped up on waiting lists for Doctors or Specialists even if you are in a critical condition because you aren’t a Celebrity / Politician / Millionaire.\n\nOnly those with a lot of money, status, power get immediate medical attention in case of an emergency.\n\nMost of the traditional medical costs like and eye exam, treating an ingrown toe nail, Physiatrie treatment are NOT covered by the Provinces anymore so you will have to pay out of pocket hundreds of dollars again.\n\nSome Provinces are already copying the US healthcare system which is 100% Private and for profit so don’t be surprised if you you’re gonna have to pay even for an infusion.\n\nThe minimum wage is only 15$/hour in most provinces when in reality you need at least 40$/hour to survive the ridiculous cost of living.\n\nYour typical salary will go 45% to taxes and 45% to rent leaving almost nothing for food / bills / gas / insurance etc. \n\nYou will struggle to make ends meet and possibly starve a week or two every month just to say that you’re “Canadian” \n\nThat is the sad reality but Canada is in a deep hole right now.\n\nUK is in a similar situation too.

As an American I would NEVER want to live in Canada. Their salaries are much lower than an American salary and they have much higher taxes. As a huge hockey fan, you almost never see an American hockey player go to a Canadian team as a free agent because of the crazy taxes.
