Immigration needs to be changed so that it costs Canadians nothing and actually benefits us. Currently immigration costs Canadians some where around $90 billion/yr in taxes and debt! Over the last 50 yrs immigration has racked up over $700 billion in debt that we have to pay back.

Do you know where the tax money goes to illegal immigrants who defame your country and even want to destroy and hate you? They get a pension for two years and get an apartment for two years with paid rent and also a supermarket money card. The people are the ones who rule, not one person. You can immortalize a great memory for generations to fight anyone who spends your money on someone else. The money should be spent on the people and the country. Frankly why has Canada allowed in SO MANY people from a few specific countries under the pretense of studying if the gvt knows so well that is not what many if not most intend to do in the first place? After the COVID outbreak, II quit my job and traveled all around the world, including 1yr staying in Toronto. During that period, I experienced firsthand the inflation and social challenges Canada was facing. After much thought, I came to the same realization as you—I need to leave my home country. Ironically, I’m about to move to the very place you're leaving.???I admire your courage in embracing this new challenge and hope you find a place you'll truly love. I’d like to share a humble opinion I’ve thought during my travels and followed news from everywhere. The surging housing price, cost of living, homelessness, social unrest, and immigration concerns are global issues, particularly in so-called developed countries. I believe these aren't just problems unique to Canada but part of a wider systemic issue. Every society is attempting to tackle these problems in its own way. There's no perfect haven, so it’s crucial to consider whether a society's approach to solving these issues aligns with your own values. There has always been a racist element in Canada, even if it is less than most Western countries. The recent reduction on visas for Indians is directed against foreigners in general, not Indians. It is misguided because immigration is not the cause of inflation, unemployment or housing costs. In fact, the new immigration policy will make those problems more severe.

56 years in Canada, live on the west coast the best part of Canada. I would move to the USA in a heartbeat. It is a better nation, more prosperous and affordable. I live in Arizona in winter, love it a LOT. It is generally friendlier when I am in the US than in west coast Canada which is more reserved with less sense of humour (but Ontario and east coast have legendary senses of humour). Health care is scary bad in Canada, a much better value in the US even though it costs more.

imagine coming to a country paying high amount of college tution fees (as the international students pay higher amounts than local ones) as well rising costs of house prices,taxes only to be cheated with a illusion of dreams. The healthcare system in Canada is horrible. It is almost impossible to find a good family doctor that will provide you with even decent medical care. If you need surgery in a hospital the wait is often many months in most cases. The taxes in this country are very high and will keep going up as our government debt goes up. The cost of living in this country is also very high with no end in sight. It is almost impossible for younger people to buy their own home. In a nutshell this country has gone to hell in a handbasket.

If the government could not provide for housing and jobs why did they invite so many international students and immigrants. Great video. Thank you! My experience was a bit quite different when I arrived there in 2007. I did have support in bureaucracy and German skills. My university gave me almost free courses and scholarship payed full time courses with living cost included. I did have the luck to meet good Germans friends that helped me and made me feel included. After some years, when I wanted to pursuit a natural career path is when I found difficulties. Being promoted more than senior engineer, a manager positions or a Professor position were out of my reach because of me being different. My earnings aspirations soon reached a limit and then decided to leave to California. I have full respect and love for Germany, but there I was not able to be what I wanted to be. Now I have achieved more abroad. However, I still miss some things from my life there.

My family came from Canada from India over 100 years ago we came over here legally we tried to assimilate I think what really bothers me now is that these new international students are giving all of us a bad name most of them cheat on their English exams back in India, and this is a known fact most of them can’t speak English and hence why they fail the colleges here expecting to be passed automatically. they work over 40 hours a week illegally and lie about it The government is subsidizing international students but they are taking jobs away from our students. We paid taxes my entire life and my son applied for over 100 jobs and got nothing because every single job is taken over by international students they are they are abrasive. They are entitled, they cannot seem to understand how assimilation works. They are so entitled and they feel they can protest out in the streets when they dont get PR. They came on a student visa and were expected to go home. They are now complaining and protesting at this point they all need to be sent home because this is ridiculous, PR should be handed out as needed not automatically and right now there are so many Canadians without jobs so we don’t need more workers. I also work in healthcare most of the students or their families come in don’t have appropriate healthcare and we end up paying millions of dollars in healthcare bills because of them, we have had families come visit their international students with no healthcare having strokes costing us healthcare workers and the government over $1 million. We don’t have the infrastructure for these students to stop. The government needs to stop subsidizing. The government needs to stop handing out PR like they’re handing out candyscamin India and here charged enough is enough. I will def be writing to my politician

For me as a German 28% taxes with an income of 63000$ a year, are seeming very low. Here in Germany you have to pay about 20% for social security + taxes. If you earn about 30000$ a year you have to pay about 10% income tax + 19% value added taxes + 20% for social security.\nIf you earn 63000$ you have to pay about 40% taxes + social security and value added taxes.\n\nBut when I did hear the costs just for rent, people in Canada have to pay, I understand that even 28% are hard.\nI am renting a 2 room appartment for 500$ in a normal town and I think from what I did hear, I would have a higher standard of living, even if I earn 1500$ after taxes a month, which is a low income, if you're working full time in Germany.\n\nAnd if I would live in a more expensive town or city, the country would help me with my rent, if I have a low income.

70% student visas are issued to indians in Canada. This is wrong at any level and need to change at any cost. Just after reading comments from some Germans here, it really feels like that racism, chauvinism and zero-sum thinking are just a part of their mentality. I am an immigrant essentially - finally got my PR after 3 years in 2012 (on a skilled worker application - IT Systems Manager), 10k in lawyers fees - I took exams to prove I can write read and speak English - I maintained a decent level of fitness to pass my medical (cost more money in gym memberships) (I was born and bred in the UK and privately educated there) I bought a house before I was a PR - I had to jump through hoops and I played by the rules to get my PR (I am now a citizen) - I do not understand how these people think that they can just demand what I had to work so very hard to achieve...?

Cut all government funding to universities and give the money directly to Canadian citizens who attend university. That way the international and local students can be on the same footing with no question that Canadian taxpayers are subsidizing foreign students while their own children cannot get admission. (The influx of foreign students is driving competitive admission grades to absurd levels, leaving Canadian students with relatively good marks, marks that were considered outstanding 30 years ago, unable to get into universities in their communities.)\n\nThe reality we have here is that Canadian taxpayers still shoulder the majority of education costs in Canada, but those same taxpayers' children are being denied education opportunities in their own communities because of foreign students. This has to stop, even if we have to fire every university administrator there is to get it done.

My alma mater has already been move aggressively asking for donations for students. The reality is only 3 options either governments make up the difference in cost, or International students make up the difference in cost, or the tutions of domestic students will start to increase to that of USA, in which they pay 3x the amount we pay here currently.

It is true here at fanshawe. I will pay 13500 for my entire 3 year program, whilst the int students will pay around 52000. It's crazy as he'll. I am worried that if the colleges start losing money like this then they may g stay raising the cost of tuition for the domestic to make up for it.

The Fifth Estate had a great piece on what is actually going on in India and how this people are being scammed. They think that they're talking to a recruiter for a college, when in reality, it's a travel agency. It's sick how Canadian colleges have exploited the weaknesses in the system, and the government has allowed this to happen for so long. A few years ago I went to university of Toronto for free dental care, cost me 350. Bucks was waste of my time and money, never in my life I though that a employee of the university believed she had more rights than I, due to loss of my job 40 years I found myself in a very shita situation. The person who worked for university though she could mistreat the Canadiana and she tried. Maybe if she spoke English she would understand she's not a Canadiana but a student on visa. To much much rights given to these students who actually believe they are better than the Canadiana. Go home get your education in your own country.
