With time things got better, now my child has graduated and working.\nHe worked n paid for his studies.\nI have not been discriminated or faced racism despite I come from African continent and of colour but my son has as he was young but he learnt from it.\nCanada gave me my freedom, my peace, my happiness and I am no longer discrimated by my own religion, culture and people who thinks if you are lighter you are prettier.\nWomen were and are still considered secondary compared to men.\nHere we are equal.\nHere they love and respect me for who I am and not based on looks.\nBack home my c-section was f up and I am still paying the consequences. After an accident, I had to go through a leg surgery. Back home hospital lost my file and made me wait for years.\nHere I was handled with love and care when the hospital staff learnt that I have no family here. They stayed with me and watched on me after my surgery.\nI love Canada and my Canadian friends and all adopted families.\nThis is the best decision in my entire life that's why when I die I will donate all my organs and help others.\nI am allowed to keep dual citizenship but I don't care about back home.\nI am Canadian, I have a good job cause I worked for it, I speak 5 languages including French. I’m not defending the government in any way, but it’s easy to come into Canada with false credentials and shady people have done it, so the honest, hard working people are paying the price for that. I feel for them, but it’s very difficult for an employer to have to “weed out” someone who gave them a fake Electrician’s Licence for example. And it’s dangerous to simply take someone’s word for it who claims to be an experienced Surgeon. A coworker of mine told us about a place in the Philippines where they will sell you a counterfeit diploma from any University you choose. So ya, it is what it is.

I lived in the US for 9 years. I used to work at cafes and sections of the library with most traffic of people just to see people. Otherwise, I’d spend days without seeing people. So I turned back to my hometown. I am better off with family. I am off the daily 400mg of antidepressant they gave me in the US. I can sleep easily. I have very little stress. I am off any pills and doing better than I did in the US.

i am so thankful my parents held onto our townhouse in vancouver;\n\nfor anyone that isnt familiar with it, my dad bought a townhouse in the 1990's on west 7th avenue (practically downtown vancouver) for around 500k. even when we moved away, he kept it as a rental property just for some extra cash (back in the early 00's they probably went for 2300ish)\nhe past away recently, and gave me and my fiance the townhouse (it was worth roughly 1m when he died, and this was with minimal reno's/fixes) we just did an entire renovation top to bottom, we got it appraised at 3.5-3.75, maybe even 4 million if we wanted.\n\nof course we won't sell, it has incredible views & is close to everything. but i am so thankful we don't have to worry about if we can ever afford to live in a city i've called home for my entire life

Let me tell you something from my own experience, and at 82 y.o. a have plenty of it. If someone chooses a country into which to emigrate, he or she makes a choice to accept the conditions and adjusts to them. Canada is not a place to baby disgruntled outsiders, but gives them a chance to become Canadian. If you expect anything different, you don't deserve that chance. \nI was born in Vienna, Austria, emigrated with my girl friend to New Zealand, got married there and created two new little Kiwis, and after 5 years we packed up our family and relocated to California, where we brought up our son and daughter as Americans. We'll never forget our Austrian heritage, and are forever thankful to the friendly Kiwis for the start in life they gave us. But, once we decided to move to the US, we accepted the life style of our new neighbors and tried to fit into their society as well as we could. When we reached retirement age, we bought a modest home in Oregon, where we still live now and proudly fly the US flag on appropriate occasions. For the privilege of choosing your country, you better show your gratitude and your worth.

My grandparents immigrated from Italy and Ireland. They never got nice warm Canada Goose jackets, clothes, Nike shoes designer jeans, free English lessons or welfare. They paid there way, bought their land and found work LEGALLY, paid to learn English.\nThey did not steal unemployed Canadians jobs going through Trudeaus let’s hire out of the country so our government funds part of the wage. What we get are lousy heath care workers who barely understand or speak the English language and are caring for our Elderly and mistreating them. This I saw first had. I took my Mother home out of a senior home and cancelled home care as they never showed up on time. Would they leave there parent in a urine soaked brief for 5 hours as that is how late they were. I had to quit my job to take care of her. I myself am disabled with a spinal injure. The worst part of “Home Care workers” is that they wanted me to call in and cancel so they got paid. This statement gave from the Home Care nurse in charge of these immigrants working here. Seven of my friends, who are educated health care workers, which they themselves paid for, not paid my our government. They can’t get a job. The last job I applied for and they ask you status I put that I am a Canadian refugee in my own country. \nPretty sad when on Remembrance Day you have these woke individuals begging for money to help refugees. They should be ashamed of themselves for this disgusting action as this is a time to remember the men and women who fought for our freedom. Trudeau is a total embarrassment to all Canadians. He brings in more refugees rather than helping Veterans and homeless Canadians.

I’ve lived in Canada my whole life, I’ve gone through a year of culinary school and passed high school with decent grades. Yet still improving my quality of life is an uphill battle. Bus prices and efficiency is awful, if you don’t have a car good luck cause you’ll spend much of your wage on bus fare and still have to walk through poor sidewalk systems to get to your destination. Schooling really didn’t teach me anything about taxes, or getting a job. But let me tell you I sure as heck know how to lease a car.... can’t wait to get a job so I can do that. My year of culinary training, under 4 red seal chefs has gotten me not one job. No matter how perfect you are for the role is you will ALWAYS get an entry level position first. (In my experience at least) and they are completely right, references are 100% key. I have a first shift tomorrow (wish me luck) that I only got because my chiropractor gave the pancakes house owner his reference. Very weird but I’ll take it. On top of all this winter just sucks, politics have gone nowhere in years, and if you don’t live in the major cities of Quebec, BC, or Ontario it’s going to be even harder. Plus living in Manitoba is odd cause people always call it “friendly Manitoba” but everyone (including me) is always frustrated. Needless to say I’m in the process of researching new place to move to, most likely in Europe cause America has all the same problems. (But worse)

I’m embarrassed to admit that I had no idea there was slavery in Canada. As a kid, I remember taking school trips to points along the Underground Railroad. This gave me the impression that Canada was a country that slaves could escape to, to find freedom. It’s astounding and distressing that we are not taught the full truth of history. (Another recent revelation for me: Columbus never actually landed on the shores of continental America. The distortions and omissions we’ve been subjected to in our so-called “education”!)

Quebec has become number 1 at the expense of other provinces. they have received more money than all other provinces combined to pay for there lifestyle. The western provinces and Ontario have given absolutely massive amounts of money to them while at the same time lowing there own standard of living. If Quebec gave Alberta back about 170 billion dollars they look from them I dare say Alberta would take over top spot and Quebecs rise in taxes would make it unlivable

Most people don't recognize my province because it's tiny compared to others even though we've had some pretty interesting things happen like a certain disaster in the 1900's but I'm glad you gave it a pretty good rank
