I hope they know not all of us on the USA is backing Trump!!!

I agree with Canada in every statement said here. It’s sad that Americans have allowed themselves to be manipulated by one man. As an American I say to Canada and Mexico, do what you need. We don’t see this as an attack on us, but as a response to an attack by Trump on your countries. I used to wonder how Hitler was able to convince so many to follow him. We have seen exactly the same behavior by Americans, today, who follow Trump. It’s sad, and it’s disgusting.

Now I know how decent Germans felt when the Nazis took over, only in the USA it's MAGA. This is humiliating to watch. And it is over. Trump will never allow another election that's not rigged. Trump controls ALL the enforcement agencies in the US government, he's put traitorous dirtbags in charge of all of them, and he's purged or is purging anyone who opposes him. It's already over. IF the Democrats win the next mid-terms, they will be POWERLESS to do anything. The USA is now under control of Putin/MAGA.

I am Canadian, and I want to speak to the USA, as a concerned citizen who valued the relationship that we once had between our two countries: please realize that we do NOT want to declare this as any form of “attack”, that these are solely defensive measures against your current administration’s lack of respect towards us as a people and as a country. \n\nPlease rest assured that we KNOW that not all of you voted for Trump, that there are those of you who realize what your current president is truly doing and do not support it. This is NOT about fentanyl. This NOT about money and how much each country was giving whom. We had a respectable trade deal that we were following, previously signed by Trump. We have always had a positive relationship together, business-wise and friendship-wise. Please also realize that, once your administration is no longer in control of our narratives in such a destructive manner, or it gets replaced by one that reverses this destructive policy, we will definitely reconsider our former relationship and we will work towards rebuilding it. \n\nIt is unfortunate for both sides here. We are aware of that. But “Canada Strong” is our way to remain forever a sovereign and free nation. Nothing more, nothing less. Always remember that.

From an assumption that these and future tariffs will positively harm the US economy, just where does Trump go when the shit hits the fan (as it pretty much already has done)? How does he row back from the chaos he is causing and has caused. He doesn't retreat easily. I suspect that he will sack key members of his cabinet, effectively blaming them for this shift show, to try to save face. If the GOP ever grew a pair I can see impeachment in the works on the grounds of real and present harm to the US.

He understands that he needs to let go of the levers that made the United States a de-facto empire after the end of World War II. Those levers of power will - WILL - be taken away from the United States, whether we like it or not, and regardless of our willingness to give them up. President Trump understands this. He is attempting to pilot the United States toward a rough (but survivable) landing and to prevent a cataclysmic crash after the loss of those levers of power. He understands more than he is given credit for.

When trump started blaming all the immigrants for the economic woes of the us like it’s 1945 I knew better than to listen to his bs. He lies and says what he needs to to act like a dictator. I am among those who started pushing back before trump took office, many are. We’re watching legislation and countering it.
