Honest review. I lived in ontario, better say Toronto. Car insurance, rent, work life balance. The good thing is the vibe and some basic things you don't fight alot to attain, the place is vividly. Their economic policies suppress growth people struggle to beyong and you must be equipped with many relevant skills apart from degree. What gives you money in Canada is your own business, risk jobs, most importantly your money source is coming from somewhere and you just invest there in houses, etc. \nThe country is nice and alot of events in the summer, but when the winter comes is really tough and you feel limited if you don't drive, if don't know places to socialise. The minimum wage is very low until this day. In reality everyone has an individual journey, and every experience may be completely different dispite any barriers they may achieve and make their dream come true, but still it will be a very small number.

i feel like this can be applied to the US also minus the health care system.. im 39 and i still live at home because i cannot afford a mortgage, gave up on starting my own family, and im looking for a country with better quality of life and work life balance.

This is the reason why most Asian that come from the upper middle income and high-income countries only came to Canada for citizenship. After that, they go back to their countries to work and live. Especially those that retired. My parent and their friends already bought the property back home, and with the retirement fun they receive here, they have a really good life back home. They are even able to afford their maids. I just feel sorry for the senior that retired here in Canada.

I’m moving out few years agoes out of Canada and so happy indeed living in ?? so much freedom depending wich states you want to live freedom on money , health benefit , outdoors indoors activities etc…Canada it’s an empty country, empty land too cold and depress living and please check the population of Canada only worth one states (Texas)USA population. Canada only need immigrants to build their country and in terms of Govn professions their are very selective and it’s hard to get through if your immigrant unless your a scientist or engineers still yiu need to move to other parts of Canada to get hired . The work life balance is awful . I an now 43 years old and I spent so many weekends in my 20s and 30s working to get ahead and now that my youth has passed me by I wish I had more of my youthful weekends to myself.. now I am in a position where I don't have go work on weekends near as much but find myself with nothing to do on weekends and at 43 the time for partying and the down town bar \n scene has passed my be and most people my age ar not into that anymore and truth be told it's not all the appealing to me anymore either and I live in a city where partying and the down town bar science is the only thing there is here. It's very much an east coast port city/college town \nPost colonia city it's great for tourists College Students and young working people but once you pass the age of 35 it gets really boring when I was younger and wanted to spend all of my free time partying and going to house parties and hitting the bar scene I thought I lived in the greatest place on earth now that I am on my 40s I am bored stiff and other then going out for my daily walks for exercise when I am not working I spend most of time at home reading watching you tube or listening to my record collection all of which I really enjoy but I do miss my Youthfull socializing but 43 years don't belong in night clubs with people half their age and nor would it feel appropriate doing so . I miss being 25 and at the club and wish I had done more it instead of spending so many Friday and Saturday nights at the ship building factory.

Even Canandas biggest cities feel like Ana Town living someone once said Torronto is the biggest city that has a small town Mindset .

Let me get straight to the point …yes living in Canada may have its issues…but if it has soooo much issues then these girls can go back to whatever part of Africa they are from, they need to STOP from complaining there in a much better living environment than being in Africa‼️ Where more than half of the country has no running water ‼️ IF YOUR THAT UNHAPPY WITH THE CANADIAN GOVERNMENT FEEL FREE TO GO BACK TO THE CESSPOOL OF AFRICA?

Most of these reasons are the same in each country. Been living in 4 countries and I can tell you that it's the same almost everywhere. Also, taxes are not that high in Canada. I live in a country now that has almost 50% taxes. And I'm just in the middle class. I've seen few of those videos now and I have a feeling that people complaining about Canada are the people that haven't lived anywhere else. US is the worst possible place to live. No work-life balance, toxic work culture, no holidays, no vacation, no healthcare, working people being homeless, violence, racism, wokeness, gun violence. These are just a tip of the icberg why US is the worst place to move to.

I am thankful to Canada and for giving me basic lifestyle compare to my birth country. Nonetheless, I feel unhappy living in Canada. The high taxes, the very high cost of living, and how unfriendly people are is making me feel depressed.

Canada is fine but you're basically correct. It's fantastic for mousey types who want security and sameness, but if you are looking for adventure, crackle and opportunity, it's a dead end. But if you say anything, you get swarmed by moaners who hate to be criticized. The country is addicted to news articles saying it's the best country in the world LOL. I lived in the USA for many years and it is like night and day. You feel like you are building the future. Unfortunately, the USA has an utterly broken immigration system, so good luck if you want to emigrate there.

Hi ladies. These are exactly the same situation here in the UK. I have been living in London since 1986 and surviving over here especially for those just arriving can be so frustrating. I often wonder why so many of our people are still struggling to come and live in these countries. I know you speak about the USA being better however I have a numbers of family and friends living in America and they are complaining about how hard you have to work in order to make ends meet. The answer to that could be the fact that many immigrants especially from Africa don't feel safe in their own home countries and bad leaders who continually fail to provide any opportunities for their youths and citizens. Thanks for sharing this vital information as many people think these western countries are paradise until they arrive and face the bare realities.

I’m from the Cayman Islands. Our cost of living is high and we don’t have free health care. Our car insurances are super high you can go to our supermarket to buy bread a bottle of juice a pre made lasagna (that you just throw in the oven) and easily spend 47 dollars. Our gas prices are currently 7.50 per gallon. My family and I are considering making the move to Canda I do appreciate your advice and your options thank you for that. But trust me you want to feel high cost of living come to cayman ! ?

People in the comments saying these young Nigerians are unpatriotic, and comparing them to the Ghanaian lady. Has the like of the 2020 #EndSars Massacre occured in Ghana before? Or are you saying the Nigerian youths who marched out that day because they dream of a greater nation are also unpatriotic? Its not a question of loyalty, when you don't feel valued or even safe at the minimum by your own people, so why try to guilt trip anyone? If your current vision of Nigeria is from as recent as 2015, I assure you that the Nigeria of 2022 isn't even close, maybe you need to go back home, earn in local currency and live there for awhile to understand their perspective. I would like to laugh 7 minutes in to the video. U.S. current political and education system is attempting to push more tax to be Canada. Our Universities keep talking about Trickke Down Economics as a negative to their students. Trickle Down economics worked. Most societies unless you live in the bush will continue to be unequal because some people take advantage of opportunity while others stay where they are at in life. Who’s problem is that? We will always have an unequal distribution of wealth. Some people are smart and will live a comfortable life financially I feel we should hire University Professors based on if they can run a successful business or not. I feel we should hire politicians if they can run a successful business or not.

You both make valid points about Canada. I am 2nd generation Canadian. I do feel like its expensive here and Even I have a hard time landing a job. (Recently got laid off from my career job, they said I didn't have enough experience to work there). My friends who aren't single and live with their partner, have an easier time living here compared to people who are single & living by themselves. \n\nNight life is boring here. However, daytime life specially in the summer is better. I feel like Canada is more for an outdoor person. Depending where you live, there are beaches, mountains, trails, & lakes to explore. Some parts of Canada even look tropical! We have hot springs here as well!\n\nFor the leisure & work life balance, I feel like that depends on the person. I used to work 2 jobs (not because I was bored or needed the money at the time), I just wanted to save more money & help my friend out with his business. I felt like I had good balance of work & leisure. I hanged out with my friends on Friday & Saturdays then I had my 'me' days on Sundays.\n\nIf you are going to move here, do your research, also I don't think people consider their countries dollar into the equation, what I mean is, if you want to convert your money to Canadian... you might have less money then you have. Example, at this moment, 1 Mexican Peso is 0.066 Canadian dollars, therefor people coming from Mexico might have a hard time afford things in Canada compared to a person who is moving from USA. Why don't you guys move to Africa where you will see abundance of black people, or go to Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Philippines where Asians can feel accommodated, come to Nigeria where you will pay almost 40% if your salary as direct tax and many other indirect taxes and VATs to be paid from your Lilliput salary which doesn't have hope if growing, where your tax is being squandered by the leaders and not a single infrastructure is built, come to Nigeria and come and see super queue at hospitals, schools, banks etc that are not even used by the leaders, even if you school outside Nigeria you don't have automatic employment until you write the exams or your profession in which you have to study for, maybe you ladies should come back to Africa, you better appreciate where God gives you the opportunity to have a meaningful life, 80% if Africans are not even average but far below average yet you are complaining of living a simple average life, are all Americans billionaires, our brains have been destroyed that we believe until we are billionaire before we ate successful or fulfilled, in Nigeria only government gives you one month leave but private organization only gives two weeks in a year and the private organizations are the largest employer of labor in Nigeria. There's an old say from my country that goes: the cat whose belly is full, always find the tail of the mouse taste bitter. So the immigrant, like a hungry cat, comes to Canada for food( opportunities) and once his belly is full, he then starts complaining of the taste of the food. You ladies just named every single reason why an opportunist can't stay in one place. I live, as an immigrant in the US, and Im a physician, and I can tell you while the Canadian health system is flawed it is far better than the US. Your 8 hrs+ waiting in the ER is literally a standard waiting time...so please be PATIENT! ( just getting a little sarcastic here, i know it sucks!) 35 to 40% of my money go the government ( although i feel they take 50%) and life is not that cheap ( a lot of Physicians leave expensive places like NY because they can't afford them anymore! ) have you heard of HOMELESS workers in LA? ( some have 2 jobs but still can't afford an apartment and live in their cars ) things are hard everywhere, especially if you are an immigrant living in one of the coldest place in the world (btw nobody called you, that was your choice, so suck it up!) I hope one day, while Im still young, I can go back home to work for my people, and not when I retire and tired to have my people work for me, how selfish and opportunistic is that mentality! I feel now I'm older once my child turns 18, I'd love to live in my country.\nI admire Canada, and many Africans here once they got their passport went to Canada. I find it cold that's why I didn't come, but have visited Nigeria and want to visit again. I visited Lagos longtime. Hope to visit Abuja. Love Naija food, fashion and culture. I'm surprised most young folk don't want to go back home, but maybe when they're retired. It's all good, build home from outside.

As someone that lived in Asia for ten years before moving to Canada, i feel no descrimination or different here, go to Asia and you will really understand what feeling like you dont belong feels like.

You don't get a reward or a claim for car insurance unless you get in accident ffs. If you (who ever feels this way) don't see the benefit of paying these bills, nigeria would love to have you guys back I'm sure. High cost of living? Isn't it the same in Lagos? And there an no amenities? Taxes? The good roads you drive your car on, the hospitals etc, they don't just appear magically - do they? Boring? Make friends, try new sports, travel to new places (within and outside Canada), explore, get a job(so at least you have somewhere to go? Home sick? Grow up or go home - period!! There are minority groups in nigeria too (I come from a minority group in nigeria and its a similar feeling). Nobody moves you to a retirement home (compulsorily) if you have family and your family can care for you.

I left Canada several years ago...too cold, depression, racism high cost of living etc. Im very happy in the country of my birth great weather natural foods etc. I feel balanced here. I still keep my Canadian citizenship and visits sometimes, going back to live in Canada hmmmm not sure maybe. Its a beautiful country clean and welcoming but for now Jamaica is my home?????

Thank God for the internet, it allows us to hear the thoughts and feelings of others, especially the young people. Everything you've said is true but the other side of the story is why many people decide to live here. Maybe you should do a piece on why people want to live in Canada. I am here 40 yrs now and i still love this country. If you stay long enough you will get to love it too. differences spark excitement.

What do you want to achieve with your video? At times it looks like a genuine cry from the heart and at times, your words are too harsh on Canada. First, seems you only lived in Vancouver. Would you have the same feeling or solitude if you lived in a more open space like Toronto, Montréal or St- John where geography is totally different. You speak of Vancouver as being an suburb of Seattle. Friend, it’s North America and there’s one culture, one language, one type of city. You can’t wish Canada were a Spain, France or Italy lookalike. If you want a taste of Europe in Canada, then why not move to Québec. With New-Orleans, Québec city or Montréal are the two places with the more European cachet. I understand you like the proximity of European cities and countries and I’m happy for you that you now live in a city where you feel alive and happy. But please, don’t take Canada for what it’s not: Europe. It’s an extension of US. as for weather, it’s a northern country and Vancouver is the London of the west coast. Rainy but mild.

I live in the UK which is 6 hours to Ivory Coast. I fell very homesick. We all face the same cost of living and practically impossible to save. I can hardly cope living in Canada which twice the distance of travelling from here to Abidjan. Do not forget the high cost of getting a ticket to travel. I think many people have been trapped and feel disillusioned in Canada, impossible to get out.

First of all I'm guessing you are in Toronto or Vancouver or Calgary maybe Montreal, The most expensive places in Canada to Live for sure. I live in Manitoba where the cost of living is pretty close to the cheapest in Canada. Yes minimum wage is $11.95 and apparently going up shortly. I totally agree with you about being taxed to death and the only reason Trudeau legalized pot was for another way to get more tax dollars. I wonder how the pot-heads feel about him now. Free health care you mentioned waiting 8 hours in emergency but you failed to mention if you need to see a specialist your talking months and you'll probably die first. As far as Canada being boring, where have you been? Being bored is a choice, I've lived here my whole life I'm never bored. Having said that I am retiring in Thailand where I can afford to retire. No wonder my uncle hardly sends me money... lol... I love CA but never been there. I have thought about this move to CA but here in Nigeria I have about 5 years career growth in HR and I am currently a team lead and by next year or before the end of this year my promotion to supervisor is very certain plus I work remotely and pay not bad atall but can get better lol... I live also in my folks house cause they leave somewhere else in another state and not staying in that house makes it an empty building... leaving all those behind to start over again in CA makes me feel bad... My dear life is not free and so poor or rich you have to pay for those services that you think is free. Stop complaining and pay for what you are required to. If unhappy cross the border and seek the so call greener pastures. Cost of living is up to you to cut it down to where you can manage it. Be real with your life and live it as you. I don't agree with most of what you ladies counted as negative points! and I'm an immigrant living in Vancouver for the past 26 years. This is a multicultural society and a very successful one, we all mingle with each other and we love it! Loneliness?!! Come on! Have you been to Europe anywhere?!! :)) you won't last a month! Taxes are not too high at all and healthcare does work. I had a brain tumor removal for free and they admitted me after 2 days! If these don't make you feel right at home here, nothing will! It’s not just Vancouver…. I know how is Great Montreal (where I live) and Toronto (where a worked). Definitely every city and province is different each other but basically a lot of people have same feelings about living in Canada.

I immigrated to Canada 30 years ago, became Canadian citizen and some how feel 100% Canadian. Yes I left to follow my dreams and started business in Africa. Still I love bragging about Canada and say its the best place to live in the world. I got replies saying why have you left if that is case. I tell them I will be going back for sure. My children are still there.

Living in Europe I can say the exact same things about my country. You always feel like the grass is greener on the other side but it most often isn't. There are a lot of places in Europe with harsh weather and more rainy/cloudy days than sunny ones not to even bring the seasonal change in daylight up, you always change one evil for another.

Im a Canadian citizen and feeling the same way as you number 1 is the weather im from Vancouver island l left in 2005 and moved to Thailand im still living in Thailand and love every minute of it.17 years later I am happy beautiful weather beautiful beaches great culture .

I agree that it is boring, cold, expensive, high tax high services, I mean people didn’t work for a year and got paid plenty for nothing. Taxes are incremental based on income as they should be. Coming from a major Latin American city, you have no idea what it is to live under fear of assault or harm at any moment, having corrupt politicians, police, and people in general. You are privileged having been born here because it is much easier to make a living, with good laws, you should go to places where people drink on the streets and pee and shit everywhere. I’m sure there are better places in the world but you will never feel like at home, and each place will have it’s own difficulties. I don’t think we all need to live in the same place but don’t believe that you are able to move to any place in the world if you weren’t Canadian.

I am born and bred American and I feel this way a the time. Ok so my parents are from PUerto Rick where people live outside. I've also been able to do some traveling and I have always observed the cultural differences. Here I always say, in the summer you don't see much children playing in their yards, you don't smell cooking from a kitchen, you don't hear music being played in someone's house. It's crazy.

But if they live the way they are accept it their lives may be different from ours. Accept it. If someone feels lonely find ways to lessen it.
