As a retired Police Officer I pay attention to people who spend alot of time in certain isles without a shopping cart. And I think he was carrying a shopping bag. I'm black. I have seen white people walk through the grocery store eating chips, packaged danish and drinking soda, finish eating and leave the wrappings on a shelf, never thinking about paying. I saw a young black mother in CVS take toothpaste and drop it in the baby dag in the back of the baby carriage, without paying. If you work in a store they are told to watch out for shoplifters. I've seen video of white people joking they can go shoplifting anytime because the store employees or security are so busy watching black people. Unfortunately minorities are watched more. If I go in my handbage, or backpack I go into the main isle where everyone can see what I'm doing. They don't need to guess what I'm doing. That's just me.

I did not see “anti-Islamic sentiment” in this reportage. Immigration has ALWAYS been hard but many people make life more difficult when they don't understand a country's laws and/or fail to follow those laws. I know a man who came to the USA with $50 and managed to work and send money to his wife and then one day he wrote to his wife to say he couldn't send any more money because he was buying a bakery. Then he sent for her and they raised two sons, worked very hard in his little business, sent his sons to a private university. They followed the law and all are successful now. I also know a man from Colombia who came to the USA legally and a U.S. businessman saw how diligently he worked and helped him start a business. The American dream works. More than 720,000 new citizens were sworn in recently (in 2016, if my memory is correct).

Heh, I was surprised to see the prime minister being so strict on Islam. Then I saw the date. Yeah, no way that weak sh*t Trudeau would say that.

I was born in Seattle and left to Canada (married) when I was in early 20's!  This then was a good change for me as Vancouver was a great city compared to Seattle, moved right downtown and had a blast so for a young person (then) was great.  Met some great people from all over the world and had health care, medical/Dental etc.... I worked in the greater Vancouver area for 8 years and it was tough, very strict, and did not help that I was from the states, white bread Canadian seemed a bit jealous that I was there, sometimes not very friendly.  The Europeans I met were actually better to deal with and I got along quite well with them.  The cost of living was about the same as in Seattle.  After about 8 years being in Canada and working hard I saw America booming and the Canadian dollar was as low as $.62 cents (in late 90's) so I took my craft from Vancouver and brought it to the US just across the border, I became much happier working in the States, I took a little bit of bs but not bad from some that I had a Canadian accent (go figure when I moved up there I had a twang) I really never left the united states I will always be American and I have been still working in the US for over 20 years and deal with mainly Americans on a daily basis from all over the State of Washington.  Depending on where you grow up or end up you should never see a border Seattle and Vancouver have more in common than Vancouver / Calgary in fact most Canadians don't care much for the other provinces.  After 30 years of being part of both countries, I can say that people are people both have great offerings and if you took the best of Canada and America to combine then we would all prosper, there is so much both can learn from each other.  Bottom line:I take the best of both worlds and what they have to offer, yes, I have found less expensive goods in Canada than what they cost in the states.  I have seen it from both eyes, and if you cant be open culturally then stay away.

Lol, the funniest part about most shoplifters is that they are usually white and the only reason they don't get caught is because no one is watching them or cares if they steal. Even when a worker sees them stealing, they let them get away with it. Smdh. I've seen it many times. One specific time some white guy walked so casually into the beverage aisle at Walmart, put 4 packages of 4 pk Redbull in his backpack, and walked away like nothing happened. Another time, this white guy went to the bulk candy section, loaded up his bag, security SAW HIM and stared at him leaving the store AND DID NOTHING! This white guy I used to work with ALWAYS STOLE HIS LUNCHES and jokingly admitted that he stole cause NO ONE WATCHES HIM OR CARES IF HE DOES! I SEE IT ALL THE TIME! So you little white people watching everyone else, I hope you all lose billions since you love to watch other people and not your own, LMAO!

Wouldnt it be of more benefit to the world as a whole to help them in their HOME countries. Support them to rebuild and rid thier midst of radicals. Have them build their own houses if we pay for materials, mabey train them that its not a right of passage to saw off heads and that science trumps religion.. mabey train them to be plumbers and concrete workers so they can have and mantain communities and infrastructure??? Shopper Drug mart in TD Square-Downtown Calgary. I get racially profiled there all the time. It was busy one night while I was trying to buy something and I saw two people steal items right under the nose of the cashier. Since I get racially profiled there all the time I just watched the whole thing play out and laughed. Now I just bug the heck of the people following me: I ask them to look for stuff for me all the time. I don’t like the attention but I’ll make them work. And the people who do the racial profile are often people of colour, smdh! And the owners of most of these shoppers drug mart in Calgary are Chinese.

In 2006 I applied for a job in a different city in UK and because of my last name they invited me for an interview expecting a white person. When they saw me they mentioned that they I was a white person. I was shocked. And I turned the offer because I felt I will be experiencing racism if I take the job.
