You need a licence and permit in the USA and the gun rights in Canada aren't tat stringent ..We have NO free health care .Get ready for the long waiting list ..American make more money and have more disposable income ...Americans have more freedom .Canada need s tougher immigration and that in migrants.Canadians are Conservative .It is way easier to start and business in the USA and have largo base of invest income something Canada doesn't have .

Although I'm American, I can't name a single Canadian company, though I can name several from China, Japan, Germany, the UK, Italy, and France. Canadian businesses don't try as hard to compete globally, but instead provide products and services within Canada. Many industries there are dominated by just one company. Businesses in many verticals keep prices artificially high to satisfy their executives' greed and mental inertia. Many companies focus on extracting the vast land's natural resources rather than developing new technologies. Canada needs to modernize.

The States have beautiful ocean beaches. Our east coast ocean beaches is so cold it can kill you.\nAmericans give the best customer service.\n\nMy Dad (Montreal, Canada) receives a small monthly American pension, since he worked a few years in the State back in the 70's. He had an issue with it and asked me to call their customer service. I managed to find the appropriate tel# in 5 minutes. Call and actually spoke with a person who answered our concerns and gave us a solution. I told her they need to come to Canada to train our CRA agents.

The $2 million home doesn't look small to me.. maybe that's the American 'everything needs to be huge thing'.. for a lot of people having a huge home isn't more important than which part of the world you want to be in. Lots of wealthy Europeans and New Yorkers live in apartments and like where lived.. I liked the video but that bit sounded so elitist (or out of touch). Less house more apartments would mean more homes (especially less big houses)..

You need to make your own country a better place to live and stop sh*tting all over Canada trying to make it your little India. We don’t come to your country to make it more Americanized. We’d be put in jail or kicked out. So don’t expect that we will just allow you to come here and try to change our way of life, this is NOT your right. Canadians need to come first. Being born and raised here counts for something. Even immigrants who have been here for 10-20 years don’t want you. They know how horrible you treat your women and citizens in your own country and don’t want that here. Go home. Canada doesn’t want you. We need to fix our own issues before letting anyone else in.

In the USA you get there and become an American. In Canada you become a hyphenated Canadian. No cohesive identity. I agree that we need immigration but taking the concept and stretching it beyond what we can house etc is not a sound policy. Libs knew the potential housing risk yet they forged ahead and created all the good press about it. We are by far the largest immigration point in the world and proving that we can’t manage it.

This is why as an American in Québec I fully support Québec independence. French-Canadians are the original European Canadians going 400 years back. God Forbid it become like the rest of Canada and overrun with third-world newcomers. The rest of Canada needs to stop voting Liberal/globalist. I laugh when left-leaning people talk about celebrating Canadian multiculturalism.

Instead of blaming these people, one must question their own government authorities who make the rules and legislation to facilitate this. Maybe it's just the truth of a desperate Canadian economy that needs immigrants to keep fueling the 'aging' Canadian economic engine. These people come in and work hard, odd jobs (not to mention the exceptional skilled ones as well like Doctors, health care workers etc.) which the regular Canadian wouldn't do. I've been in Canada for 2 years without a Family doctor. Thank God, the last 10 different Doctors I met were all fresh immigrants and came to my rescue. Ask your conscience, without these immigrants, you wouldn't be getting your late night coffee at the time Hortons drive thru, no one to take your blood works without you waiting several months in waiting, no ways for universities to subsidize tuition fees for the poorer Canadian students. If immigrants stop coming in, the nice detached home you live in will go down in value, the nice truck you drive will become more expensive, your kids University tuition fees will sky rocket, Canadian companies selling groceries, furniture, etc. Will have lesser revenue and eventually get eaten up be American giants, Canadian companies won't have cheap labour to build those much needed housing. \nNot only question your government, but also question your 'own' people.. Where are they to serve you? Where are the so called patriotic 'original' Canadian Doctors'? They are off to US to earn more money. U think they care enough for their home country?\n If Canada won't, somebody Else will accept these people. Hence get rid of ur ego and attitude, it's YOU that needs immigrants more than they need you ?? \nLastly, don't forget your ancestors too arrived here in ship loads from Europe as immigrants, taking away the land belonging to the native Indians who were slaughtered and today live as prisoners in reservation lands... on their own soil. I’m a Canadian nurse and I lived in the US for 10 years during my career. I did it when I was young to gain work experience and travel with friends. It gave me a lot of insight in how it feels to live in both countries. I’ve been a nurse and patient in both counties so I also know how it feels to work, live and be a resident in both. \n\nI cannot articulate enough how it has confirmed to me how fortunate I am to be Canadian. The perks to living in the US were very superficial and frivolous things that matter very little in the broad scheme of things,….which I see as more restaurant chains, cheaper restaurant food, more shopping options, etc. As a young person when I lived there,…those things seemed amazing but matter far less as I get older. \n\nWhen I lived there, I paid a fraction of the income taxes that I paid in Canada but it’s only short term gain for long term pain. The cost of health care, the amounts of gov funded benefits (disability, EI, pension, etc) in the US makes it well worth paying taxes to offset these things as in Canada. I have had cancer 3 times in 5 years and I’ve not paid a cent for treatment, scans, surgery, etc in Canada. My employer held my job for 2 years and I received long term disability of 70% of my yearly wages and my employer paid my full pension and benefits as I was off of work. After 2 years, my cancer returned and was deemed incurable so I will continue to receive this pay and benefits until I’m 65 and can retire as I can no longer work. I have no financial worries as I battle cancer. \n\nTo contrast,…my US employer was a world reknowned hospital that had excellent pay and benefits. Had I been working there when I was diagnosed with cancer, I would only have gotten full pay for 6 weeks until my sick time and vacation time was used up. Then I was eligible for a fraction of my income for 3 months, which would not be enough to live on. I would not have had my pension paid. After that, I’d receive no more pay and my employer would hold my job without pay for 6 months and then I’d be let go. My cancer required nearly 2 years off of work so after 5 months of this minimal pay, I’d have no income, no job and no benefits with a new pre existing condition to ensure that I’d have a snowballs chance in hell of getting future coverage. Meanwhile during that 5 months of some pay, I’d still need to pay huge costs of treatment despite having insurance but that would disappear after I was let go from my job. I’d have to return to work during my treatment just to afford to continue it. I have many US friends that had a similar cancer that worked throughout to cover basic cancer care while I was able to recuperate without working or fearing being unable to pay. There is nothing comparable to this when you are sick. It is everything!\n\nSadly, many of my American friends are very ill informed on how health care works in other countries and don’t see the shortcomings in their own. Ironically though, they are willing to argue it without proper information so I often find that bizarre. While lived there I felt as though I was in a bubble where the only news that I saw was US news. I saw no info or minimal about Canada in my whole time there,…aside from falsehoods about health care to scare people away from seeking change. “Canadians are all dying while waiting”, “they are all coming to the US for care”, “they pay 80% income tax” etc. All propaganda,…some from politicians or those that should know better. It was truthfully mind boggling to me how educated people could know so little about the world. It almost felt as though they heard so much propaganda about how terrible other places were while only having knowledge of the US, that it ensured that things would stay the same without anyone wanting beneficial changes to dysfunctional policies (like health care, cost of meds, lack of gun regulations, etc). It’s very bizarre.

I dont understand how its anyone's concern what language people speak with family and friends or if someone does not know English. In a free country, you can speak whatever language you want, wear your cultural clothing, and eat your culture's food. why does one need to adapt to the local area? The law doesnt oblige them... Also, these indians came legally no? In a democratic Canada that let them in... people voted for this directly or indirectly. Send all these students back when their time is up. Our education systems from kindergarten through to postsecondary education and spending it on the Canadians that were here. We've turned our post-secondary institutions in Canada into diploma Mills where you know your VA and your you know postgraduate degrees or you know they're worthless. However the government and the education system grew into a very profitable industry grinding out worthless degree after worthless degree for foreign students who thought when they got these degrees with 50% of Canadians have. People have to realize that post-secondary education is a big business so they're going to sell you a dream that's going to cost you a lot of money what I suggest is when YouTubers want to do something on Canada do some proper research let people know that we really do have quality post-secondary education system but you have to look at when you graduate those jobs going to be there to pay that large salary does White collar jobs are disappearing almost gone I purchase an app for my company with small company about 10 employees this inexpensive app alone has taken my office staff from 7: to 2: I have a 10 Red seal tradesman tradeswomen these 10 highly skilled trades people earn between 125 and 145,000 a year in gross salary and I need five more of these highly skilled people and I can't find them cuz everybody's running in to get a useless postgraduate degree. Traditional White collar you know middle management upper management jobs they've been gone for years everyone's think of themselves as an independent contractor. It’s not just bc of the party in charge. Our country has some of the worst American solutions to issues that are common in say the UK. We don’t take internationally trained doctors - make them do nonsense tests, make them live in shithole towns, reduce their wages. We don’t let international grocers or cellphone companies in to protect our own non-competitive, shitty companies. We don’t let international dairy in. We can’t have Greek feta cheese but we can have shitty ‘Greek style’ cheese made by some farmer in Regina. We have always isolated ourselves and attached ourselves to Americans. We need to open up and change instead of protecting our shitty companies

When it comes to housing, Canada copied the worst parts of American suburbia. Zoning laws prevent density and public transit is almost non existent with people being dependent on petro. The United States has many of the same problems as Canada at a local and state level. The federal government can't do much to stop it. They need to decrease immigrantion while building more density to help smooth this out, but even the average Canadian has NIMBYISM that Trudeau can't fix.

You're free to judge but I have not seen any Indian/ Asian/ Latino immigrant homeless. Indians bring high skill in IT, banking and medicine which Canada desperately needs. Latino/ European ethnic immigrants also work very hard (construction/ farms etc.) and support their families and children. These basic skills keeps Canada running. Immigrant children are the highest number of graduate degree holders. Students line up in hundreds because they are willing to work and make a mark. They stand in freezing weather for hours just to try their luck. That's dedication. The only homeless I have seen are Canadians/ Native Americans even when the govt. pays millions in welfare and development programs to get their life back on track. Also, all these immigrants pay thousands of dollars to come to Canada (Visa fees, plane tickets, moving expenses) so that they can pay taxes to Canadians. Why are you crying all the time just they are not into cold pasta?

I am American born. Came to Canada in 1981 after marrying a Cdn girl. Also, I became a Canadian in 1989, holding on to two citizenships. Fast forward 20 years, and divorce finally showed up. I moved back Stateside when my brother had his 2nd heart attack, to help him with every day things. I was there 10 years before finally moving back to Canada. I knew I would always move back to Canada anyway. Life is just less stressful here. Less to worry about. No fighting for retirement like so many do in the USA for their Social Security for example. No fighting for disability if you need that here. Concerns like that are well looked after in Canada, helping to make sure everyone can live a reasonable standard and quality of life without a battle to do so. The social structure is safer as well. No big gun issues. In the States, I had a reaction to ALEVE which forced me into hospital. 7 hours in, and 5,000 later, I was released. 700 for the EMT ride as well. 1/2 mile ride. In 2017, I had a mild heart attack in Canada. 7 days in. MRI's and every other test you can imagine was done. My total bill was 49 .00. That was for parking, as I drove myself the few blocks to the hospital. It was the only time I had to be in hospital in the 30 years i've been in Canada and I was thankful that we all pitch in to take care of each other with out healthcare. The USA is fine for some but it's no Canada :)

I am an American citizen of Indian descent. But I always loved and appreciated Canada. I love hockey since I was 7, huge NHL fan, lover of Tim Hortons and Canadian poutine. But I don't want anything non-Canadian to replace Canada! The Canadians need more aggression when it comes to defending the red-white bars and maple leaf!

No way most of Gen Z will ever be able to own homes, if the are lucky they will get one passed down to them, shame you have to wait for a family member to DIE to own your own home :( Benchmark prices for home in Victoria 1.2 million, Vancouver 1.18 million, Kelowna 1 million. Very few people can afford a 6k+ a month mortgage. Shame on our govts that allowed this to happen.\n3 I am tired of the degradation of the family unit. The problem is not with immigrants, it is with the government's poor planning. The housing crisis began well before the recent uptick in immigration, and both major political parties are responsible for it. They under-invested in social housing and did not give enough tax incentives for developers to build new housing. They did this on purpose because the housing market was seen as the place where homeowners could build massive equity, and they did. For many years, Canadians were very pleased with this state of affairs. About a decade ago stories were running everywhere that the Canadian middle class was larger and wealthier than the American middle class. This was almost entirely due to the equity established in housing. But the prices just kept going up and up, there was not enough new housing built (on purpose, to maintain the value of Canadian real estate), and the economy needed new immigrants to fill thousands of jobs and to keep funding the health care system and other social benefits. So now we have a housing crunch, where even Canadians who own homes cannot sell them because they have nowhere to move to (everything around them is just as expensive), immigrants can't find housing, and the health care system is overloaded. It's a proper mess, but it's not as simple as saying the problem is with too many immigrants.

The problem is not immigrants...the problem is poor immigrants. People who move here with nothing and want to milk the system. I moved here from a Latin American country in 2017, and I have never asked anything from government. I am not a refugee and I was never a student at a fake school. I came here with enough money to live comfortably and then got a great job. You are importing poverty, so of course things will be hard. You need to import wealth and education...people who actually contribute to the system. A richer and better system can help more people.

As an American living in Quebec, the most unique and strongest facet of Canadian culture, you folks in the rest of Canada need to support Québec’s battle to retain its Canadian identity. You need money to enjoy life, just like in those crazy expensive American cities. And you shouldn't be spending more than 40% of your income on rent. There are ways of saving but buying a home in Toronto is unaffoardable. Better think of Kingston, Ottawa, Brockville... where it is way cheaper with some good paying jobs sometimes depending what your field of expertise is.

Not only can many of these people make more money in the U.S., but they often encounter more help and/or less restrictions with professional licenses (e.g., most states have an industrial exemption for engineers, and do a better job at helping foreign doctors and nurses get their licenses to practice medicine). How many times have we heard of a foreign professional reduced to driving a taxi or becoming a housewife when they move to Canada because an immigration official didn’t properly inform the immigrant of the hoops they would have to jump through, and the provincial professional association offered minimal, if any, assistance? \n\nThis PhD student (and others with more academic than lucrative educations) may think he’ll have it made moving to the US but I think he overestimates his value. The small liberal arts colleges that may have hired someone with his background are decreasing in number or changing to a more technical focus (usually to computer science because it doesn’t require expensive labs needed in medicine or engineering). American students are now more critically examining what degrees, if any at all, will lead to better paying careers, and I doubt Myanmar is on their radar as a money-making opportunity.
