@The Fifth Estate: CBSA? You should clearly say what that is, for it isn't obvious. A search of Wikipedia turned up a page for what's surely meant, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada_Border_Services_Agency. I know of Canadian border crossings (between Ca. and the US) so had normal exchanges with some customs officers, but I never knew the name of the agency (of the govt) that they worked for, so CBSA meant basically nothing to me. Otherwise, the overall report is fine, and such illegal immigration tactics must be stopped.

Remember that this is Canada, the land of Liberal-itis and slaps on the wrist for white collar crime are normal. 7 years in prison? That's OK, you've been a good boy so 2 years served is OK by us! When they don't want to live in Canada and they love their country why they apply for citizenship, we had an almost same case in USA few years ago a Chaineas family brought 8 or 9 months pregnant Chaineas women to give birth to their children in USA for US passport and citizenship when police arrived at their home there were 35 couples in a 1800 square foot building with the new born baby and some at hospital and they normally left US after few weeks,usually Chaineas love their country but I don't understand why they want western countries citizenship.

Before I moved to Brampton, I had no idea HOW MANY Indians actually lived here. I'm of south Asian descent but I grew up here as a Canadian. I still keep my culture but I'm Canadian FIRST. It's true too, some of them don't believe in deodorant, holy shit I literally had to tell a guy who sat beside me on the bus that he smelled. I know it was rude but if someone doesn't tell these people, they will think not wearing deodorant is normal. I miss the Canada I grew up in. My friends were mostly white but there was a nice mix of us: white, black, asian so we all got along. Today, everyone is in their own groups, strangers are the enemy, there is so much more segregation than there has ever been. Not long ago at a Tim Hortons I heard an Indian guy who was clearly new to the country telling his friend he didn't have to learn English because everyone in Brampton speaks Punjabi, it was insulting hearing that.....Listen up Indians and any immigrants coming here: BEFORE you come here, learn English, LEARN the customs and learn the CANADIAN WAY. You owe it to Canada, give something back before you start taking.

Important thing for those watching to keep in mind is that every black person has different experiences across the country. You'll have areas where blacks are racially disadvantaged and discriminated against, and others where they are equal and simply seen as another normal human. For me, it has been the latter fortunately, I've only experienced racism 1 time in my 14 years in Ottawa (born and raised in Ethiopia).

with respect to the job situation I am not really surprised at all. The higher up you go in terms of qualifications requirements is the less likely you are to find discrimination based on names in Toronto. \n\nThe real discrimination is at the bottom of the pay scale where the people making the decisions are less likely to be university educated and more likely to be say a white forklift driver who came up through the ranks and has been promoted through length of service rather than and specific qualification. He is likely tp still hold on to that Èthey are taking our jobs È mentality.\n\nAnother thing to consider in this Ontario/Toronto employment thing too is this. Ethnic employers tend to discriminated HEAVILY against anyone who is not of their ethnicity. The Chinese hire almost exclusively Chinese, partly because they can pay them less than minimum wage and get away with it. Indian employers hire almost exclusively Indians for the same reasons but additionally because they can get away with any number of safety violations because Indian workers tolerate and in fact tend to violate those safety codes in a normal situation anyway.\n\nThe same with Portuguese construction workers, they can pay them way less, get them to violate construction codes and cut corner on safety without being reported by or having workers complain. Polish and Romanian construction workers the same thing.

What a waste of time and energy. Maybe they should do the same test with animals. Ask the gazelles and zebras why they act differently when they see a lion, or when they see a giraffe. America has free healthcare basically, it's called Medicaid, I wouldn't say I'm poor at all, which is what people think you have to be to qualify. I'd say normal middle class, husband works in a factory making decent money and we qualify for it, but yes healthcare is ridiculous, even Medicaid doesn't cover everything.

Racism will never be gone because it's a normal part of humanity. It goes back to when we were hunter/gatherers and for safety you stayed with those like you. In the modern world it gets twisted and used for hatred. So really racism isn't the problem , hatred is.

I have some prejudice about certain people and topics and I stereotype of course. It's an automatic thing for humans to do. We immediately assess everything and anyone around us. That's normal. Now, what isn't normal is going out of your way to violate the rights of any human being or to harass them in any manner. Obviously we can't help what we think and what is in our heads but we can control whether or not we act on these things. Fortunately most of us do not act on our thoughts, but some people do.
