This might be similar, but a little different. I've been language profiled before, just for speaking my mother tongue. I'm bilingual, english is a second language to me but welsh is my first and primary language. There's a notion that that some languages are redundant, not even worth speaking or learning. \n\nSometimes being different is a good thing, but why do people mock us for being ourselves?\n\nIt's not how a person looks that counts it's the who they are as an individual that counts. \n\nQ: Get rid of the label that you pin on someone, what else do you have left?\n A: a human being, who has more in common with us than we thought. I've done a few of those implicit tests. \n\nBesides a few of them having grammar and spelling issues (wow, Harvard?) it seems more than a few of them are testing more than one thing at a time, or from more than one angle. There's no way to see exactly what the results mean.\n\n(Note: most of them tell me I've got very slim to no implicit racism in my results, so I'm not just arguing out of shame or upset, I'm stating the above out of an understanding of proper vs improper testing practices)

I am a muslim and everybody think that those guys who kill are real Islamic people , they are going to hell that what God said . First thing is that Islam is a peace religion and there is nothing to do with killing. Second thing there is God called Allah, who is the only God in this world and next one, doesn't want killing and deaths and in our religion God told and warned us not to kill people because he is the only one who kills and takes lives from people and we are harmed to kill. Third thing God told us that who kills one person as if he killed the whole people and that guy is going to hell. God said if a woman wants to cover her  body completely or does she want to cover her body except her face and hands its okay but the hair must be covered. THE PEOPLE YOU SEE IN THE BREAKING NEWS COVERED WITH MASK AND KILL  PEOPLE ARE NOT MUSLIM THEY ARE OUT OF ISLAM AND THEY ARE GOING TO HELL.

It is unfortunate to see people saying such horrific things about Islam. This religion is something of scholarship and deep understanding. This is not a superficial religion it takes understanding, patients and serious contemplation. when you attempt to speak about Islam on a superficial level that is all you will get out of it. This religion asks more of its believers because the creator sees more within us than we can ever see within ourselves.

The weird thing is, look at nuns, the Amish, Mennonites, Pilgrims, Fiddler on the Roof, paintings throughout history of women. Christian and Jewish women have traditionally covered their head and many still do. The Bible says that a woman should cover her head. I see a reaction of fear and anger when I wear a simple scarf in public now, and I am a Christian. I am going back to hats. I do not want to be associated with Muslim totalitarian laws.

CBC, I'm disappointed. You have to be aware that the Implicit Association Test is a flawed test. Do some research, and you will find that outside of the soft sciences, it does not hold water. It is not a repeatable test. Get one person to do the same test every day for 30 days. See how things change. \nAdditionally, that written survey is craftily put together to get what it wants. Just look at the language.

There are a lot of things that we have not put into law, because they are covered by common sense. If a Muslim woman goes into a shop and makes a purchase It is reasonable for the shop keeper to want to see their face, after all a large robe can hide a lot of shop lifted goods.. We can make that law if it becomes necessary, so a person must comply with the law and not claim that their religious law is greater. Trouble with the Muslim religion is that it is a political system within a religion.. Just think of all the wrong that was done in the name of Christianity, we have learnt from that, now the Muslims have to learn the same lesson.

Anyone who follows Islam is a week minded person that cant take care of them self. Be a real human. Stand up and make your own choices. Stop following a Child molesting/ Murderer Named Muhammad. And learn to respect others. If you follow Islam. You are week. And also  an Idiot. I am so glad that I can do what ever I want and not have to pray to an Imaginary God 20 times a day, lol Ive got way more important things to do in life then to dedicate my life to a piece of shit that was born in the year 570. The thing is you hear things about ISIS or hamas and you try to separate it and say that it only the extremists, when in fact the moderates still support it. when speaking to a muslim friends of mine i asked her if your book says killing is wrong then why is there so much of it in islam? to my dismay she said that as long as they're killing for her religion its ok and that she supports things like the charlie hebdo shootings. She claims to support freedom of speech, but in reality, only things that are not opposed to islam. tried telling her if you ant talk about something freely then it isn't freedom of speech but she couldnt comprehend that. its disappointing to see that even though they are not the ones directly in the terrorist groups, they still support what they do.

As a older Canadian born and bred, but now in Europe because of marriage, I can see things farther toward the wall than most of you perhaps in Brandon, Thunder Bay, Charlottetown, Whitby, Kamloops, Red Deer, etc. This is extremely dangerous. A few muslims are o.k., as they may assimilate to Canadian values of 'PEACE, ORDER, and GOOD GOVERNMENT'. Yet most do not wish to assimilate, only to remain who they are, ungrateful of the bounty Canada offers them, and holding values against those our country has always promulgated. We have separation of church and state in Canada, and fought very hard for it, with a history of bloody wars in Europe to show for it. It is repulsive how we are allowing a bleeding of immigrants into our country who do not believe in our basic creed. This is not racial. This is not hate-based or prejudice. It is simply defending our creed as a country, from wherever you are, and whomever you are. Canada is worth defending. Where are the feminists on this? Why are you not defending Canada is this debate?

I don't see why Canadians must learn about slavery in that country. I mean, if 4% of the population is black and many of them are immigrants from the Caraïbe. What is the point? They live in Canada. Another thing, black Canadians are really sensitive for no reason. Compared to other countries in the Americas, they have it better. Maybe I can't understand what they are complaining about because I'm American but I see over sensitivity.

No see they wouldn't work for them. Because if they went to one of those shit holes then there goes their benefits, free housing, education and healthcare. See the chapter mark 7 onwards there are people who question that the tradition and the law should be followed they give more important to the laws than to God himself so mark says this that what goes into a mans stomach does not stay there but comes out , but what should be clean is the heart which is filled with evil things and wrong things, it means that people give more importance just following the tradition and law but not does not give importance to God or has God in him in his heart.

Surely men can do heavier work. Of course there are differences between men and women, nobody is denying that. Men can learn how to knit but I can never knit as good as a woman can do it. It's just that I don't see why a woman should have to obey me. I think that grown and civilized people can discuss and work things out together. I also don't see why women have to made responsible for the behaviour of men who act primitively because of the way they dress.

I agree with this! See, their is middle ground!!! Of course, I can not stop you from drinking, but you should not walk into a mosque with such things and try not to be loud/disruptive around mosques (or any other places of worship) after your done drinking. Most Muslims are like myself, but no one looks. No one looks at the Muslims doing the little good deeds that make a difference (Clothinghomeless, helping teachers, feeding orphans) the focus is always on some fringe group that causes problems
