I don't know why President Trump is trying to bully his neighbors with tariffs. Well, they are retaliating now. Let's see who suffers.

It's amazing that most Canadians have no clue that Canada has had tariffs of 300% on most US goods for ages. Adding 25% isn't going to do anything. This is a clear overreaction by Canada. So it's now 325% compared to 300%? Whut? Trump will now raise it to 50%. Look, if Trump raises tariffs to be equal to that of Canada, it's game over for Canada.

I get why trump would tariff mexico. But why canada? I hate all this bs.

Trump promised retaliatory tariffs in response to Canada's tariffs. So what will the new tariffs be: 50%? USA will be hurt by Canadian tariffs, but given its smaller economy, in four years, Canada will be economically destroyed by US tariffs. Canadian dollar, which is 1.45 to the US dollar, may soon rise to 1.8-2.0, and Canada's leading bankers have said that Canada is looking at high interest rate and recession.

Canada really don't understand the equation, they stand nowhere infront of US. They should better comply with Trump to avoid more tariffs or possible sanctions. US can destroy their economy like Iran or Venezuela. Canada has no partners at the world stage, they never invested. \nIf you want to show strength, first build it. Canada is totally at the mercy of US.

As an american devastated by trumps win, I wish the canadians & Mexico would increase the tariffs. This man is causing chaos. The republicans made this bed & we are all forced to sleep in it. As a mexican american & a woman, my feelings are evn stronger

Remember, Trump promised he would lower the cost of groceries. He also said he was going to impose tariffs on imported goods from other countries. You should know that tariffs will RAISE the cost of living not lower it. When Trump was asked about it by a reporter, he said tariff costs are passed along to consumers which may cause short term disruption. But then said he wasn’t concerned about disruption because we should understand. We can’t afford food and gas now. This POTUS has no brain!

Trump needs put very large tariffs on Mexico. The Mexican government stood by until this March of people marched all the way there. It has taken them two days to get to the border.

But they were in passenger planes, not military planes. That's all the Colombian president was complaining about. Everybody has some sort Internet connection. They need to look up what Tariffs are. When Trump was campaigning he said he was going to put a 25% tariff in China and all of his supporters cheered and clapped ! The Colombian president asks for respect. Being illegal is a minor crime, the Colombian is not a criminal. That is what Colombia asked for. He also offered to send the presidential plane to help, but transporting a Colombian with handcuffs in international territory is kidnapping since that minor crime does not exist in Colombia. UPDATE: Less than an hour after Trump made these threats the Colombia sent the president’s plane to collect their deported criminal migrants on our behalf and all tariffs have been dropped. CNN viewers are morons.

Border control and immigration are absolutely a major issue that needs to be addressed. For instance, Canada should have been on top of border control a long time ago. Safety for Canadiand AND Americans. But Canada can't just give in. Where does it end. Everytime Trump wants something he is just going to keep threatening with tariffs. Do as i say or 25% tariffs.
