Why do you let people IN and then blame them \nWe Indians take a pride leaving in the west , here back in India as well

Most people in Canada do like immigrants and try and want to accept newcomers . I am happy to see new faces younger people, people with a different outlook. However this lack of housing is a major problem for poor and lower middle class people - citizens and noncitizens. Unfortunately rents are a racket in most cities, the real estate business is full of unnumbered accounts and money laundering; Canada is full of organized crime from all over the world, we cant control foreign attempts at killing our citizen. So we can tell our government is not efficient and is doing a poor jobHowever I dont think the average immigrant is the problem and I feel they are treated like rubes by our government and taken advantage of and so are Canadians of different ethnic backgrounds who also suffer the same problems of many immigrants. That's the truth. Letting people in with out providing opportunities for jobs, housing, support is foolish and destructive to our country. Our politicians are selling us down the drain-i.e. all those who are not in the upper middle class or the elites. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!! VOTE FOR CHANGE !

If you want to talk about the crisis, let's start at the beginning, shall we? \nIt all began when the USA wanted to use Pakistan as a drop-off point for their army. Pakistan saw this as a golden opportunity and made the most of it. Pakistan and India were, unfortunately, enemies. \nLots of money started to flow into India, especially Punjab. They started helping criminal and hardline religious leaders so they could create problems for India. \nAfter Pakistan lost the war with India, many of those criminals fled. They went to Pakistan, Pakistan saw that as ppportunity and asked the USA for help. The USA was kind enough to take in those folks and dump them in Canada,. Give them funds to for their Khalistani movement, to create problem for India to make Pakistan happy. Just like the USA once funded Al-Qaeda, the Taliban, etc. to hurt Russia. \nMeanwhile, Canada started using those criminals as a Vote bank. And what do these folks do? They form gangs, of course! Gangs need people, so they started inviting or smuggling people from India. Most of those people are just criminals or the lowest of the low. \nWhen those Khalisthani creating problem for India, Canada and the USA support them. \nDrugs, smuggling, trafficking, and violence are the only things these Khalisthani have learned. \nUntil USA, Canada stop supporting Khalisthani movement both Canda and India will suffer from these people.

That why people are holding their properties and not renting them anymore. Letting someone live for free is the norm.

Lets change the europeans for this hard working people

How can people afford to pay rent?They end up setting up tents in the streets....they shouldn't have let housing prices go up in BC years ago....

Please add to this the many homeless healthcare workers who have great educations and are not paid the best and are told to wait for housing because there are more people coming to the country and the homeless healthcare workers are the ones who are taking care of the newcomers who are housed while the healthcare workers are asked to wait - some are even MD's who are waiting in their country of birth because they are self-employed and have to pay overhead , staff and medical equipment and supplies. Please let's house our homeless healthcare workers in all the major cities.

This should not happen , why do they let them get away with this. You rent a place you pay or you’re out after 6 months. \nIt’s getting ridiculous how some people take advantage of owners , laws need to change to protect both tenant and owners. \nSquatters can move into your house and you have to spend money on lawyers to get them out while they live rent free. \nWake up government and pass some laws to give police the right to evict these losers.

I mean, show the numbers and ratio of people we've been letting in in the past few years to anyone and they'd say we're insane. We live in a time where someone saying we need to go back to reasonable numbers is a brave and bold statement when it should be the norm for any country.

This is not rocket science. If you let more people in and you don't expand the infrastructure, there will be a shortage.

The problem is that people don’t understand that Canada is a federation. There needs to be coordination between the federal government and the provinces. Canada lets people in, provinces provide the services. Canada doesn’t build housing, provinces and municipalities do. Canada doesn’t build schools. Canada doesn’t build hospitals. This is a federation and until people understand the country they live in, they will never solve all the challenges ahead. Just like Quebec, all provinces should negotiate with the federal government to provide immigration permits according to their needs. The more Ottawa centralises everything, the bigger the problem will become.

Lets be real people its india..

It is a very important thing to note that despite Canada being the second largest country in the world by landmass, the vast majority of the population lives 100km from the American border because the vast majority of the land has no infrastructure to have large scale habitation. Outside of the prairies and the st Lawrence valley, there is precious little farmland to sustain people. So we import a huge percentage of our food which can also attribute to rising costs (not the only factor but it doesn’t help). Geographically, this country can’t comfortably hold more than 36 million people. Our population really shouldn’t grow beyond that unless we have infrastructure to house and feed people, which we barely do for the people that live here let alone the folks coming in. I feel like people want to make it a race issue, but that’s misguided. Canada is not America. We can’t fill our country top to bottom with people it’s logistically too difficult. We literally don’t have the resources to grow beyond that roughly 36 million cap

I don’t understand what’s the problem if you let everyone migrate to where they want too. It’s just lines on a map that separate us, think back a couple 100 years people could go basically anywhere they wanted.

The Conservative Government lured educated foreigners to Canada with the promise of great, high paying jobs, and once they got here, once they left EVERYTHING, including their families behind, were told they would have to go back to school in order to be certified. My understanding is that people are being played upon again, in-fact the real threat is de-dollorization, about which nobody talks much. As noticed recently through the news, manufacturing is returning back to West from China which obviously will demand skilled labour. Dollar loosing it's value (due to de-dollarization) and once immigrants starts leaving Canada, this will add on to the trouble exponentially, leaving Canada unattractive....When I say, skilled labour, then I mean the real working guys, not the cozy European immigrants. These are my understandings...Lets see how it goes, I am eager to see.

As a Canadian I can say I have no issue with immigrants or anyone trying to seek a better life as I am the son of immigrants. My issue is with our government taking in way more than our economy and infrastructure can handle at a time where it's already under strain. \n\nAdd to the fact they're almost all from the same race, it makes certain areas lose all diversity and a ripe ground for racist sentiments. It's not uncommon where I can be in a grocery store or restaurant and every single customer and cashier is an Indian. At the very least let's diversify where we are taking them all in from. \n\nThe cynical side of me makes me think they are desired by corporations because these people are seen as an easy resource to exploit since they're willing to put up with more and receive less.

The seems are starting to burst, just look at Britain. \n\nThere’s no such thing as a real Canadian as the country was built by various races. If you have a Canadian passport you’re Canadian that’s it.\n\nThe issue lies in continuing to bring in large amount of people with no skills the country needs. The infrastructure is starting to buckle because of that. \n\nAt the very least they should consider shutting down immigration in the large cities to provide labor to smaller towns.\n\nAnother problem is letting foreigners buy properties in Canada who from countries that don’t allow Canadians to buy,\nfor example China. The government shouldn’t allow a Chinese who’s non Canadian buy a house here if we ourselves can’t buy property over there.

Yes Canada needs immigration, but you can’t just let all these people in and not adapt all relevant levels of infrastructure as you go along. This is government failure.

first i am an immigrant for 20 years. i see the problem has been rising. \nthe problem is not just immigrant, its the overseas students also. Gov try to solve the issue but they are doing it blindly. the problem are those small schools that focus on making school as a business and let people get working visa. \nwe need doctors and nurses so badly. why cant we take more doctors and nursing, have universities specifically train then. we can also have golden visa and wealthy immigrants to come in . we dont just need cheap labour, we also need money. \n\ni cant wait for next election to vote this gov out!

Why don't the president of Mexico stop this??? I'll tell you why, or what Mexicans man told me. He said, Biden ask him to stop these people from coming to Mexico then coming here. He said he could, but would not until Americans agreed to give each Latin country in the world 2 million dollars every year or every year. He said if not he was going to let them flood America until they take it. He goes back and forth from Mexico to America. I don't know how true this, but this is what he told me. I'm so sick of looking at these people until I don't know what to do. God help us.

The government told people that there is a housing shortage AND let in a record number of new people. How are people supposed to react? Imagine if there was a famine and the leader said “hey, let’s go share our food with somebody else”. You can’t reasonably expect people not to react this way given the narrative that the government itself is putting forth.

The Trudeau Liberals have used immigration to keep top line GDP numbers high. What people don’t talk about are GDP per capita figures falling below 2014 levels. Gen Z Canadians are the first generation in the history of the nation to have had worse living standards than their parents. \n\nEngland is a window into the future. These immigrants are driving our streets without a driver's license or insurance and are being let go by law enforcement. I wonder how many would be let go to drive on the streets if an officer let's one go just to find out his family has been killed 10 minutes after letting the driver back on the roads.\nThere is no law people

Always wondered why we need a continuously growing population. \nIts a giant ponzi scheme from what i can see. We cant pay the bills for the debt that our governments pile up with their vote buying, virue posturing, corruption, and general squandering of our tax money, so we continuously look for new suckers to buy into our scam.\nJust let the population fall naturally, it will level out eventually. \nGovernments have to stop the social engineering and fix the roads and education system and Healthcare. You need to.come.legally we have something called laws these days there is a huge difference in settlers and immigrants we can't just let anyone in our countries this shit is happening all over western civilization and it's fucking up our housing market because they're not building enough houses for all the people coming in especially up where I live in Canada the house prices are like 4 times there actual worth and because of Trudeaus immigration policies and his red tape policies on housing I'll never be able to afford a house
