Proposal : absorb Canada and parts of Mexico bordering Murica as the 51st and 52nd states! Proposed name change\nCanada = Maplestan\nMexican regions = Tacostan

Food rationing < Worthless currency < Homeless explosion < Collapse of Canada < 51st state.

So in other words mexico and canada are saying to the united states that they don't care how many people die of fentanyl. They just want.\n Retaliatory tarrif. Trump should raise the tariff to fifty percent immediately

Haha, the US puppets suddenly realized who they were dealing with. And when the United States humiliated other countries, Canada was happy to help them in this. Karma?
|

Trump is just starting.....likely that it will increse further! Justin is very tough now and he will be so until his last day in office.......Canada must fight back to be the 51st state of US........???
|
| 2025-02-02 | 0 |
Hopefully people around the world respond by buying as little as possible from the US (especially from the billionaires and states that support Trump). Trump is going to try to divide and conquer, and if the US will attack Canada, no democracy is immune.

Suddenly, Canada China And Mexico think they can be together to replace USA. ??? Good job new state of US and Governor Trudeau ?
|
| 2025-02-02 | 0 |
Canada has a lot of fresh water and natural resources (which is what he really wants), Our economy may tank because of this but we will be resilient and definitely not become the 51st state.

Neither Mexico nor Canada can win a trade war with the United States.

Pierre will flip as soon as he's elected, hes already been in talks with Musk. \n\nEnjoy becoming the 51st state, Canada.
|

How about Canada become 51st state, then no tariffs?

This is pure aggression by Maga sociopaths and billionaires geo political delusions, along with threats of 51 state.\nPanama,Greenland,Mexico. They are not kidding. The Maga clones in Canada, smith, moe,PP and every “ conservatives “ political party is pure Maga clones and bootlickers. They are not loyal to the country they’re loyal to their extremist maga ideology of hateful rhetoric and morally bankrupt ideology. Not to Canada, look at the response from PP and smith…disgraceful \nWe need political leadership that is Canadian not right wingnuts from Amerikkka. That means Maga.\nAmericans are our closest friends and allies…but Maga is a cancer on society and freedom, democracy and sane government,in America and damn sure in Canada…

I like the fact that Canada is targeting stuff that will primarily impact the red states :)

Who would have thought WW3 would state with America against Canada?
|
| 2025-02-01 | 0 |
As an American, I'm with both Canada and Mexico. There is absolutely no reason for these tariffs. Please concentrate on the RED STATES that have caused this mess.
|

Canada could be the US 51st state by default ?
|
| 2025-02-01 | 0 |
Both Mexico and Canada have fallen into Trumps trap, if you do not see it, let me explain. Trump has been pushing for more manufacturing at home, for more oil drilling and for more rare minerals mining. He can impose those tariffs and either Canada and Mexico agree, or the do exactly what they just did, think they can win a economic war with the United States. See, Trump gets what he wants either way, they don't cooperate, Trump gives huge tax incentives to companies to start producing here in the U.S. which will in turn reduce the price of everything for Americans, see, if you produce it here instead of overseas, Canada or Mexico, we can pish for a huge increase in overall production reducing the costs to consumers, since the products no longer have to be imported. Like i said, sometimes i don't think the left has any brains left.

As an American it feels a bit extreme, but all Canada has to do is attempt to fix their border, but your leaders would rather choose war. OK. 75% of Canadian exports go to the US while you only take 12% of ours exports. This will be a bloodbath. If Canada was a state in the USA, it would be the 4th largest economy. I have family that is from Canada, this makes me sad.

This is the consequence of depending on one country in everything. Diversify Canada. We love United States and we hope things gets resolved
|

For the vast majority of Americans, including Trump who don't know this:
\n- 90% of all aluminum used in the USA comes from Canada.
\n- 80% of the potash used to grow food on US farms comes from Canada.
\n- Steel is made in Canada. - Uranium is exported from Canada.
\n- Minerals needed for electronics are exported from Canada. The only alternatives are China and Russia.
\n- 60% of all imported oil in the US comes from Canada.
\n- Electricity produced in Canada is delivered to the states of New York, Vermont, Maine and over 20 other US states. We’ll soon find out if convicted felon Trump and his supporters need Canada when that electricity gets turned off. If Trump can rip our mutually-negotiated agreements so can Canada. We did not ask for this economic war nor did we start it. Trump did.
\n
\nIt's also time to super-tax every pound of US coal being exported through Roberts Bank Super-port in Delta, British Columbia, Canada. The American coal exported through Roberts Bank does not even pay a provincial carbon tax like all BC residents pay. Canadians are about to show Trump what happens when you consistently lie and stab your best customer and neighbour in the back. We are not afraid of Trump. Canada is the second-largest country in the world by land area and we have the longest coastline in the world, with over 243,000 kilometers of shoreline. We will continue expanding our trade with Pacific Rim countries, Europe, Mexico and beyond. They all need and want our lumber, minerals, oil and gas, grass fed beef, and the dependable, respectful trading partner that we are.

American here, Trump need to make an example out of Canada. Lets take our future state my force ???
|
| 2025-02-01 | 0 |
Trudeau has already destroyed Canada so bad. Canada will be crushed in this tariffs war to such an extent that it will finally beg America to take it in as 51st state.
|

sooooo, exlude the states, and , we will tariff also, canada should send a bill for the cali fires...ungrateful bustard's....i say NO more help

Take Canada as 51st state!
|
| 2025-02-01 | 38 |
Canada should add a 100% on Tesla and start importing Chinese EVs. We can import all we need from Asia and Europe, especially China for a portion of the price. Canada should also Cut the import of oil and power to the states and start selling to europe instead. That will teach Trump a lesson.
|

Trump's first official state visit will be from Israel's Netanyahu on Tuesday but won't accept a phone call from it's biggest trading partner Canada says it all.. doesn't it?

I support Mexico and Canada , so sad the states must need tariff wars , be hard on his own people
|

The EU has already stated that they stand with Canada.
|

Game on. Time to bankrupt Mexico. It is a failed narco state. Canada? Nice people, but their woke leaders have neglected their responsibilities to the point over half of Canadians want to join the United States. I think the Canadian political class has lost control of their country, and like the US Democratic Party, they are out of touch with the common sense citizen who just wants to work, take care of their families and live in peace with their neighbors.

Canada needs to cut power to the United States and close the St. Lawrence Seaway to American shipping immediately. Period.

Canada is an authoritarian state.
|
| 2025-02-01 | 0 |
The regular people will suffer. Canada and Mexico will suffer more. The US economy is very big and dynamic. It will absorb tariffs. Trump's foreign policy is going to be very predatory. These trade wars have the potential to spill into other areas: Diplomatic and military in which Mexico and Canada cannot match the United States. The next four years are going to be turbulent.

It's only a matter of time before America pushes every country right into arms of The BRICS Nations. You can BET THE FARM if Canada and Mexico join BRICS China, Russia, and other countries will be invited to set up shop right on the Rio Grande in the South and Niagara Falls on the Northern border of the United States. America will LITERALLY BE SURROUNDED. If Panama feels threatened they will join BRICS for protection as will Greenland and every other nation on earth INCLUDING other international port locations. This is a disaster of BIBLICAL proportions to the US economy if the US loses the privilege to be served at just a couple of the strategically placed locations. This will hyper accelerate the balance of WORLD POWER from America to The BRICS GLOBAL MAJORITY and completely dismantle the influence of the UN. THEY WILL SANCTION AMERICA!!! Even Israel would abandon America once that happens because the money source would dry up in less than a couple years. BRICS now OUTGUNS America in GDP, PURCHASING POWER, AND MILITARY STRENGTH! They're are nearly 70% of the WORLD POPULATION (and growing) which means a draft is virtually GUARANTEED if ww3 erupts. China has just PUT THE WORLD ON NOTICE they are AHEAD BY GENERATIONS in AI, EV's, and technology FULL STOP! Canada, Mexico, Panama, Greenland, etc... have to be asking themselves is it worth it being Americas FOOLS???
|

Llet's remember that the US GDP is 30.34 trillion dollars. Canada is only 2.33 trillion. Just one of the fifty States, California, has a GDP of over 4 trillion, almost twice as much as Canada. The total amount imported from Canada to the US per year is about 450 billion US dollars of goods. The US has the advantage by far in staying power here. Plus, Canada's leadership is on uncertain grounds, and Trump has a unified constituancy. He won all the swing States after all. I for one hope it all works out, but it's going to be Canada that will throw in the towel.

Canada is the size of one our states in population…

Canada and Mexico were BOTH warned about the tarriffs because of illegal immigration and drugs entering the States BECAUSE OF CANADA AND MEXICO.. it is no wonder that USA are doing this to you, quit complaining and learn that you CANNOT comply with illegal behaviour!

President Donald Trump has stated that he will improve the United States economy with massive deportation of undocumented migrants\n, layoffs of government workers , deep cuts in social security benefits for disabled citizens or the elderly , and reduction of medicaid . \n However , a significant number of Americans are unaware that Trump is also planning to reduce the taxes for the rich , and give billions of more money to Israel or engage in unwinnable wars in West Asia . It should also be noted that Trump's theories to make America great again will have a disastrous effect on the economy or on life in the United States, especially because he is also about to start a trade war by significantly increasing tarrifs or duties on imported goods and products from China, Canada and Mexico \nAs a result, the Trump plan for the next four years may simply make America poor again.

Majority of people migrating to canada are from a single Indian state Punjab, but dont blame them to migrate when your government couldn't do math on how many people it need and invited foreigners desperately to come because its population is getting old without building houses/ without enough jobs.

My dude you just said that health care is never discussed in american politics. \n\nAlso, all these people saying that health care in Canada takes years and years for things that take weeks in the US are typically full of it. Yeah. Some provinces that shall remain nameless like to break contracts with health care professionals, resulting in shortages of certain types of workers. \n\nI live in remote northish parts of my province (not NWT, Yukon, or Nunavut), and 6 years ago I was diagnosed w/ lymphoma. They had me set up to do chemotherapy treatment within 2 weeks. They wanted me to start that weekend, but I needed the time to put my work in order for me to be gone for an extended period, get applications set up for EI/Healthcare claims, and figure out who in my family I wanted to share the information with. \n\nIn Canada you end up waiting for elective surgeries and treatments, because they aren't critical by virtue of being elective. That's about it. If you need an elective and have 10K in your pocket not doing anything, go ahead and go to the states.

The United States has full surveillance commercialism. That means that Canada Customs could theoretically pay to find the answers to questions like: Does this person have a tendency to criminality or violence? Does this person pose a threat to children, law enforcement, or Canadian society? Is this person likely to be a burden on Canada's health care system?.... All of that information is available on every single American for a price. In fact, because Facebook/Meta and Google etc store their information in the United States, they could likely also give that information about every single Canadian.

Actually to tell you the truth, the cost of housing is about equivalent or a little cheaper when you do the currency conversion, in Canada and the United States. Toronto and Vancouver (which seems to be the primary examples here) are significantly cheaper than New York but the most expensive in Canada. This post is way over the top, exaggerating the situation in Canada.

I'd never leave Canada for the state's there is no place like Canada ❤

Liberals just doing this to get votes … once they are re-elected (and believe me they will get re-elected because GTA and eastern Canada is absurdly stupid) they’ll get right back to the project of destroying Canada as it continues its journey into become a post national state without a national identity

I am happy for Xi and Putin. ??? Stupidity sees no bounds in the United States under Trump. China will dominate the world for sure. Dare Trump to invade Canada, Greenland, Mexico, and Panama to see how far he can go.

Good for Columbia! Texas did it, dumped immigrants to sanctuary states, so, again good for Columbia. Good for Canada, Greenland, Japan, and a whole lot more standing against Bully Trump. Its so embarassing for our country!

I was po'd that I had to pay $13 for a tv in my room when I had my kids LMAO! Canadian problem. Free now though. For the most part I like the safety and security of Canada. I always feel a little in danger when I visit the US. I think the idea that anyone can carry a weapon freaks me out. But, I love the shopping in the states. It is not cheaper for us to buy down there but you guys have way more variety.

Canada will retaliate against the United States.

And so, he is just pretty much making Colombian coffee expensive for no reason at all in response to Colombia rejecting his US military flights full of immigrants. Like......what the hell, dude? What. The. Hell? Well, uhhhh......of course it's not gonna Colombia at all really. But uhhhh......\n\nIt will REALLY just only hurt the United States of America for the time being. Yep. He is hurting the very same country that he is supposed to properly govern right now, ladies and gentlemen. OK, now, he can just now even try applying economic pressure to Mexico and Canada to try and get what he personally wants. BUT in the end, it's gonna make their own products even expensive as well. So uhhhhhh, if I were Trump right now, I would just seriously put a complete stop to all of this AND start doing my job right for once.
