Let's keep Canada a secular country! \nMuslims are doing their best to change Canada into an Islamic caliphate praying in the middle of busy streets blocking traffic so people can't get to long waited for doctor's appointments or business appointments. Muslims want the call to prayer five times a day to stop everything for everyone not only muslims. If it is a muslim holiday they expect the whole country to take the holiday and that all businesses must close because of their religion. The most logical thing for moslems to do is move to a moslem country that follows their moslem precepts and leave Canada so we can remain a free country not tethered to religion unless we choose that mode of living.

Big cities in Canada actually aren't higher in crime. The worst crime is probably western small towns. But even really nice cities like Fredericton NB have far higher crime than Toronto does. This may be changing fast enough that we will see a change, but Toronto is almost an outlier in the world on crime rates. So Pickering is an A- on crime. Fredericton is an F. You would never guess it walking around. Though the same report says Pickering is a D- on health, while Fredericton is an A-, which is ridiculous because you can't get a doctor in Fredericton, unless there is one in the family. So maybe the stats are bogus.

We came to Canada in seventies, and it takes at least 5 to 8 years to settle here. These days, people are doing well in India. There is no need to move here. Canada has also changed a lot. I know people who came to Canada returned to india after 5 months. Not once twice. They came back and are well settled. I will say if people are doing good in India and have a big circle of family and friends in India. Then they won't be happy here. Finding a good job takes years in some case. It's your luck too if you find a decent job then you will be ok. The worst thing here is long winter. You get tired of cold and snow. Now the cost of living is very high, renting or buying a house is very expensive. In the end, most people make it.

I think this is a wonderful idea. \nI truly feel most Muslims would be happier living in Muslim countries.\nAnd thank U for not changing our ways of life in Canada's.

I regret moving here 17 years ago - don't know how I've managed to stay this long. Toronto has changed me... and not for the better. This place will make you bitter, you'll have no friends (or shallow, money-hungry ones) and there's no sense of community. Your workplace will be toxic, you'll work long hours for a boss that treats you like crap and pays you less than you're worth. You'll be underpaid, and not valued or appreciated. You'll wake up in the dark to go to work in the freezing cold and come home in the dark, in the freezing cold. You'll live in an expensive tiny box in the sky with disrespectful neighbours (and their barking dogs). The 'unhoused' and addicts will hang outside of your building, begging you for money and smoking crack/weed. The stench of urine and poop on a hot summer's day (the 3 months of it that there is) will make you want to heave.\n\nAnyone thinking of moving to Toronto should seriously think twice and do LOTS of research. There are so many BETTER cities in the world - choose wisely. Don't choose Canada.

Before moving please make sure what you would be doing in a new country for living? Will you be able to manage until you pickup your earnings. You have kids!! will you be able to pay for their educations, house rents, medicine if necessary etc. so on and so forth..\n\nBut one thing i wanted to check many Indians are moving to Canada for a better life, i''m little surprised to see you moving out of Canada, why don't you guys try jobs in IT companies? Are you both Palestians? I think not. Therefore you are going to move your children to a non-democratic corrupt muslim country due to perceived crimes against a group of people who share your religion, but you have no contacts with. There are no effective democratic muslim majority countries. Should I make family decisions based on Christian ethnic cleansing in North Africa? Should I worry about the massacre of Coptic Christians in Egypt? Your children will regret your actions and will understand why your parents or grandparents moved to Canada in the first place. To be fair, a lot has changed during and after COVID. It's not only in Toronto or Canada in general. The whole world is experiencing inflation. We have 2 major wars . Crime rate everywhere has gone up too.

This is my 13th year in Canada, I am so sad to see the change, I really hope it will become a better country again with Trudeau stepping down. But we also have to be fair that there are not many countries become better since COVID. Many of you leaving or planning to leave Canada are more like rich country retirees taking advantage of the wage and currency differences between rich and poor countries. So let’s put it this way, if many of you have not worked your whole life here in Canada, will you still have a quality of life in your home countries, such as Southeast Asia or South America? I doubt majority of the population there is make a good money and having great work life balance, and everyone there could afford a decent retirement life. what is more close to nowadays reality is people coming here and hoping they could have a better paid job and settle down here, but most of them found out they are struggling to even maintain their normal life in this country, so they left. For those who came years ago, they made a saving which may not be enough to support a good retirement life here, but is more than enough in other countries, they also choose to flee. Then those successful immigrants will stay here with the option to travel anywhere they want. My son's classmate's grandfather immigrated to Canada long time ago who later become a well known cardiologist and was rewarded as one of the top 25 immigrants Award, all three daughters are now specialists too. I really hope Canada could rise again!

I think you guys are making the right choice...there are plenty of Muslim countries to move in to..so instead of trying to change Canada to suit you better you would move to a place that already suits you.. glad for you to make a good decision for your family.

In 20 years Canada will be Chinese and India owned and Canada will cease to be. I lived in B.C 30 years ago, no one speak English then, I am in Alberta now and am starting to see the same thing. We are not a melting pot anymore. Get ready for a official language change.

Canada used to be so affordable, and such an amazing place to live, it's sad that this is all changing... : (\n\nI do have to point out, though, that the tax rate in Canada is the same as in most of Western Europe (30 to 60%) and the ratio between salary and cost of living is similar. It's pretty normal, in France, Italy and Spain to spend half of your salary on your rent/mortgage, some people even spend more than that. (The average salary in France is about 2,000€ or sometimes even less and the average rent for a 1 bedroom in big cities is about 1000€. In Spain, the aberage salary is about 1,000€ but rents are 600€ per month or more...).

This is a very thoughtful and balanced review. As a retired Canadian who had a good job for most of my life, I'm saddened by the decline in almost all areas of life, lifestyle and and people's aspirations in this country. This decline actually seems quite rapid, I would say from 2015 onwards. Housing in major centres was expensive, but it has skyrocketed in the past decade. There has been a decline in many institutions: 1. health-care, especially noticeable since the pandemic that coincided with many boomer medical staff retiring, but also by our sclerotic institutions refusing to enable foreign-trained doctors to work here. Many foreign-trained doctors in the Vancouver area are doing jobs way below their qualifications while many people cannot even get a family doctor. Crazy. Econonically, there seems to have been no plan at all from the government as we exited the pandemic. At least the US had a plan, to 'build back better'. Our government just floats along as if everything is fine, when the decline is very visible especially to older Canadians. We have admitted 1/2 a million people a year from overseas, so our economy should reflect this and show an upswing. But no, we're in a 'technical recession' as of December and probably a real recession as of last week. I have never voted Conservative in my life, but Trudeau is a flaky dimwit with a famous name who has no clue what he is doing. A fool, in fact. He's mismanaged our foreign relations beyond belief, and nothing has improved domestically. When Pierre Poilievre says 'Canada is broken', I believe it. We deserve much better leadership; in Canada's case, the rot does come from the top. Justin the entitled idiot is much more like his mother than his father.\n\nLong rant. Canada is not one place - 2 nd biggest country in the world in area, with 13 totally different province's, one area code in the GTA has more population then Western Canada, so one cant paint a single brush stroke to talk about Canada. At present time the whole world is going through changes, look at USA - globalization is changing, look at England dropping out of EU. One cant just say Canada like its one place, Quebec, BC and Alberta have nothing in common, three different countries not one. Different issue's , cultures and languages. Even our first Nations have different cultures, the Haida are not the Mohawks. Its the same with each province. Globalization has reached its current course, right now the Chip market is changing, and so is the whole world. Its not just a Canada issue but a global issue

high cost of living it makes sense to leave Canada all together . You are taxed to death in Canada every thing cost more Canada is a great place if you all ready have lots of money . But if you don’t it’s hard. I find it so weird when they ask for Canadian experience when you just came to Canada I blame the employer they make it difficult for people to get hired and in return people leave to find a job in a different country I did the same thing came to Canada to look for work working in IT and I didn’t get IT job because I did t have any Canadian experience. After two years of working at a job that was not even what I studied I left Canada and found a job that I studied for I got a good job in America Long island New York and never looked back……. I get paid double then I would have if I had gotten a job in Canada any way ….. forget Canadian experience it’s not worth moving to Canada the country has changed. You pay more for everything in the states you get things for a lot less . Car insurance in Canada is so expensive……… do t get me started on the winter ?

I am saddend by the number of people who have chosen to leave Canada, although I realize that this is a good decision for you and many others. This country has changed, and not for the better. Greed has taken over with grocery conglomerates eliminating competition and raising prices for record profits. Buying a house now requires a lottery win, not just a mortgage. It seems that we are working to pay taxes and the banks and the insurance companies. And I have yet to hear anything meaninfull about this situation from the government on these issues. You tend to get high taxes in places with free health care. Many use Canada as a bridge country to the US. In the US health care is very expensive. Many companies you would work for offer free health care plans for single individuals ( if you have a family it costs a lot ) but those plans have such high deductibles and co-pays that you can't afford to use it. Most US health care plans have very high deductibles ad co-pays making it extremely expensive. Then when you retire and start getting social security which is not much money by the way, you also get Medicare which also has a monthly charge around $150 mth. It doesn't cover everything. It does not cover dental or vision. It does not cover all your hospital stay which tends to occur as you get older. Most Americans end up having to sell their homes that they spent a lifetime paying off, to pay medical bills and end up on Medicaid which is the free last resort medical care and end up in a nursing home to end your days. Most nursing homes are bad. You end up in a 2 person room, in diapers, up for meals and back to bed, diaper changed 2 times per shift and one shower per week done by whomever in the communal shower room. Shelves until you die, which many do very quickly out of despair. After working your whole life that is the prize folks in the US.

Very good objective video. I grew up in Toronto and had many great experiences in the city as well as commuting from west Toronto into the city for five years of high school (grade 9 to grade13). At an very early age I used to fearlessly ride buses, street cars and the subway system with no concerns of crime or potential violence in my mind. I wouldn't suggest this now for a young person unless you have 2 or 3 marshal arts black belts in your resume! The very same circumstances exist in Vancouver...quite possibly x's 2. My family and I now live a short distance east of Vancouver, but the city has changed about 10,000% since I lived there from the late '70's to the late '90's. I don't mind saying that I believe most of the problems/issues in Toronto, Vancouver and many other cities in Canada have been accentuated by poor policy decisions at all levels of government...municipal, provincial and federal...particularly since 2015 aka the J Trudeau era. Great video, candid and honest appraisal of the current situation in Canada. We moved to Canada from the UK 20 years ago and initially we loved every minute. But the slow spiral into the hell hole since Trudeau took power has totally changed our opinion of Canada. We have now retired and spend winter in the USA and considering leaving if Trudeau gets re-elected next time around. Also we have to say how Canadians are very disingenuous and can be two faced.\nWe do have many Canadian friends but in 20 years we are not that close to them.

Turkey might be a good choice. Close to Europe, in fact some or many consider it as part of Europe, they wanted to part of EU. Also a muslim country, so, you would be very much at home there. And very beautiful and still cheap, it does not compare to Canada price-wise . :)\nAlso, Turkey is the big supporter of Palestine. :))) If I could speak the language or have a change to work for an automotive company in English, I'd probably just move there and be able to visit mom, extended family and friends in Europe a lot more often.

That would be for the young demographic of Canadians but for older Canadians it is more due to resentment and anger, the reasons you list for wanting to leave Canada have all been caused BY immigration into Canada at such high rates and so older Canadians whom never voted for these changes to our immigration policies and whose voices never get heard are mad, mad their parents were able to buy a home in Vancouver for $50k with a basic blue collar job 2 generations ago now the same house is $3 million dollars. Or that we can no longer communicate with our neighbours because non of them speak english well or that we are constantly being called racist either by implication or outright by our media, academia and government. Or that our parents were able to afford university with zero debt afterwards now you leave with $100k+ in debt and the classrooms are 80% foreigner. Our the hundreds of thousands of Canadians who have been pushed into living in tents because sky high immigration has made their home town unaffordable etc Their anger is misdirected I know that, but it is understandable and will get worse. The future for Canada now is probably breaking into small countries because diversity has no future.

This marks my 14th year in Vancouver, and I am contemplating returning to Hong Kong. I completely agree with the analogy you drew regarding working as a flight attendant. Even an entry-level position in my hometown would yield higher earnings than a mid-level position in Vancouver.\n\nContrary to the misconception about Canada's excellent health benefits, go google and you will see people suffered due to prolonged waits for doctors and medications.\n\nThe housing crisis in Vancouver is alarming, exacerbated by the lack of immigrant volume control from the Canadian Government. There was no concrete housing plan in place before welcoming more people into the country.\n\nI can’t tell if this is a Liberal party or Canadian government issue, but someone needs to step up and initiate change. No country is perfect and Canada is not either, but when compared, it's doing pretty well. If everybody would change country because they disagree with the government on some points, everybody would leave their country. Wherever you live, you have to embrace the way of life of this country. If I lived in Morocco, I wouldn't heve the idea to criticize the call for prayer 5 times a day. The same way you can not expect to have it here because this country is still mainly catholic and protestant. I wish you find you perfect place in the world.

If people supported the freedom convoy instead of complying with government policies, Canada and major cities wouldn't be as bad. Governments exasperate these issues and citizens have the power to make sure they don't get worse, but living in bubbles don't enact change from municipal to federal levels. This is a fall off from policies that have impacted employment, job security, small business, social programs, mental well being, immigration, food scarcity, etc.
