I was in upstate New York and didn't realize that they didn't take our Canadian money, this was many years ago. I hadn't had a problem Previously using my money by border states. The gas station attendant called the cops on me Cause I had no other means to pay for the gas. A state trooper came and told the cashier to take my money. He was super friendly and kind. I was so thankful and grateful for his help. I've always found people friendly when I've been to the America. But that said I haven't visited all the areas.

Good morning sir please I have this question it’s troubling so I would like to ask , I gained admission into centennial college and I have actually paid my tuition deposit gone for my biometric did my visa applaud all I’m just awaiting my approval but my school gave me a deadline to pay my first semester fee which has already passed and yesterday I got a mail to pay off the remaining fee and a friend told me to pay before the month runs out but the thing is my visa is not out yet and I don’t actually have the money ready to pay before the month runs out I don’t know what procedure to take please help me answer my question sir thank you

They made everyone retake pictures in a booth for £10 each which they had the keys for (I seen them open it as money got stuck). Only when you go to the desks when your number is called all those people were told their pictures were incorrect an the guy would take them with a camera they had. The original pictures many had come inti the building with were actually the correct formart but they were not accepting them. They were also making people do unnecessary photocopies from the machine in the place, and go on the internet at at ridicules charge unnecessarly. They would also make out there is a mistake on peoples form and then say they would refil it themselves for £10 cash. All these methods were illegal ways of getting money out of people. Dont believe go there and sit for 3 hour and see yourself.

I lived two years in the south of the usa (in Texas) during my childhood in the 90's and it wasn't so bad. Weather was great ! People nice and great ! I did love the school there, I learn English there and math was super easy. In Canada, I went in a catholic schools and we were obligated to say a prayer before class begin. Lol this reminds me of a story my brother in law told me and my sister when they were still dating. His class in high school had gone to New York for reasons that I no longer remember. I moved from small town British Columbia to Houston Texas about 32 years ago. Was very lucky to be able to live in several different states in those 32 years. Yes, it’s more expensive than the United States, but for my dollar the care is better and I can get it quicker.\n\nDon’t even get me started about the economy up here, it’s ridiculous.\n\nCanadians are polite? I drive a car with US plates and I’ve been told to go back to where I came from more times than I can count. You might say I must be a jerk to have that got a response but I assure you. I’m like anyone else I have my moments, but overall I’m a pretty chill person.\n\nCan’t wait to get back.

I live in Ontario and because of our Premier, our hospitals are in a horrendous position. I am in need of an MRI and have been waiting since April. Where I live in Waterloo Region, the wait is now at least 10 months to find out when your appointment is. My specialist told me to go to Buffalo, so I ended up paying $500 USD and had it 3 days later. Now , I can be referred to the neurosurgeon and have been waiting for this MRI since April for this referral. We talked with the radiologist and it was the most pleasant experience I’ve ever had. What I would add is that unfortunately, it’s expensive, but at least one less person in my region will need an MRI now. I am still waiting to hear about my appointment in Ontario…

Canada is a great country if you wanna be a dependent slave to the government. Sure its free but you might die waiting for life saving treatments because the government doesnt want to allow any form of private healthcare if its already “provided” by the government. Most of the gun violence in the US is in the lower income neighborhoods and at least you’re allowed to defend yourself. In Canada if you defend yourself, straight to jail. If you have evidence of self defense youll be ruined by the legal fees. Its sad, Canada used to be great but after 8 years of terrible liberal economic policies the prices have skyrocketed and now canadian kids are being told they’ll never own a house. I'm Canadian. I was born here, raised here, and have lived here all my life. However, my parents are American (they came during the Vietnam war), and I have full dual citizenship. I could cross the border into the U.S., get a job, start working and live there for the rest of my life if I ever chose to do so.\n\nHowever, I will never live in the U.S. Why? The cost of healthcare insurance and healthcare in general is definitely a part of that, but another huge factor is the socio-political atmosphere down there that is very unappealing to me. Everything from politics, the gun issue, much higher violence than we have in Canada, more racism issues, the media, and from what I have observed from decades of visits to the U.S.: there just seems to be a lot more people that are on edge and hostile than I am used to compared to Canada as well. For me, the general culture and mindset is just not something I want to live amongst.\n\nThere are some things I enjoy in the U.S., and there ARE wonderful people there too. I have several friends in the U.S. (born and raised), not to mention my entire extended family is American. But for me, the U.S. is a nice enough place to visit, but it's not somewhere I'd ever want to live.\n\nNo matter what kind of trip I take to the U.S., whenever I get back home to Canada it's always like a deep sigh of relief. I feel safer. I feel more relaxed. I feel at home. No matter how good my trip was, when I set foot back on Canadian soil again I always get a feeling of humble gratitude that I live here. About 2 weeks later, he had another seizure (the last one he ever had), he stayed in another hospital for an additional two weeks.\n\nHowever, all of what I just mentioned, and I mean ALL of it, was paid for by our public healthcare system. All he had to do was show his healthcare card and sign a release form for his surgery, and that was it. Nothing more. There were literally ZERO bills, no insurance companies, no paperwork, no phone calls, and ZERO hassle. Nothing.\n\nAnd no, our family was NOT rich or privileged either. Just an average middle class family. However, my dad's neurosurgeon told us his surgery and all the months of care he received afterward would have cost $180,000 (in 1994!), and our family would have been out on the street if it wasn't for our healthcare system. My dad also had a very minor heart attack in 2007 which didn't require surgery, and he didn't have to pay a dime or do anything else other than show his healthcare card for that either. Since those two events, my father has lived a healthy, normal life thanks to our public healthcare.\n\nIn Canada, EVERYONE receives that kind of care, regardless of if they are a billionaire or they are homeless. Because that's the moral and ethical thing to do, and is just one of the many reasons why I plan on staying here.

Recently had a mammogram at the hospital and received a call back the next day for another one and ultrasound. At the second visit they asked me to wait and informed me that I had to get a biopsy. Upon getting that done 2 weeks later they told me I would find out my results in less than a week. 4 days later my doctor called me to deliver to great news. The nurses and doctor at the breast clinic at North York General were amazing. We are so blessed here and I am so thankful. The cost of this was parking…. What a joke! My father immigrated here in 1950 and am so glad. Would never live anywhere else but if I had to, I certainly would never live in the US.

Heard on average it cost around $25000 just to have a child in the US. NO thank you going into debt just to have a kid. Here in Canada free no matter what. Also rather be free then availability. Maine, Montana, colorado, washington state usually are way colder during winter months and also get alot more snow.
