Even for those looking for an easy PR, Canada isnt an ideal option considering if you want to live with your parents which is gonna be really expensive and one person cant bear the expenses of other family members

Where will current students and housing get jobs? I don't recognize the population outside my door in less than five years. Students will also bring their families over. It's a huge challenge. Really population is out of control. Using a student visa to get into Canada is not tg way to get into Canada.

Why? Canada’s education system is horrible so really why are they educating here when other countries are way higher on the charts for top education and our kids can’t even afford the fees but they will bring in more over loading our housing, school fees, over load class rooms and all the other things it affects negatively.

What I would like to know myself as a Canadian resident for 60 years where is the financing coming from the students coming in from their perspective countries or is it Canadian financing. The next question please would be would these students actually contribute to Canada's society and not be like the last 20 years of nurses being trained and doctors also guilty of this of leaving the country and laughing at the Canadian taxpayer by not even paying back the student loan which is not forgivable by any means I would really appreciate someone to educate me on this it's just an unknown I feel almost ripped off.

I lived in Canada for over 20 long suffering cold years. My rent in 1982 in Kamloops for a large two bedroom appartment was 105 bucks a month. Then when I moved back to Toronto and got an apartment right on Young at Grosvenor our rent shot up to a tough 620 bucks a month (all utilities included) but I was making a lot of money so it seemed like the good life. I wonder how expensive that luxury high rise is today? Probably about $4500 per month would be my guess. Canadians don't like to talk of the negatives in Toronto, but I feel really sorry for some of my family still there. My mother in law broke her back. All they could do is give her pain killers for the four months before she could get penciled in for surgery. And that was before it all went to hell. It's nice to see so many shots of places that were once so much a part of my life, but in all honesty moving to the States was the best thing I ever did. It was in fact like an escape from madness. Now similar crazyness is here, even on the South East coast of the US. Time to look for another escape. Any suggestions?\nOh, and my friends cousin got murdered in the Jane and Finch area years ago. Just a guy with a gun that nobody is supposed to have - shot him in the chin.

The irony of the situation is Canadians are somehow thinking it’s the student’s fault for coming to Canada. Your government is literally scamming students and it’s really getting out of hand.

Altogether, the damage to this country by bringing in so many international students will cause Canadian citizens to immigrate elsewhere, including me at some point. It's hard to have this discussion sometimes as people will say you're being offensive, but really, I doubt the current climate of Canada is satisfactory for these overseas students either, their housing and job options here are poor and this affects Canadian citizes. If you go to places like Vancouver or Ottawa, it's completely unrecognizable to the unregulated amount of international students who are typically in poor situations.

People commenting here about how it's not international students but just folks from a particular country should realize that it says a lot about Canada's attractiveness as a destination currently. How many of Canada's educational institutions do you think are going to make it if students from that country stop showing up? It's supply and demand, and currently only one country really cares about Canada.

I am Chinese ethnic was born in Höng Kong but moved to Singapore in 1984. \nAt that time I could have migrated to Canada or Australia. I am an electrical engineer with a master’s degree and have worked in the States for some time before moving to Singapore. I could have settled in the States as well if I really wanted to. But having studied and worked in the States for some time, I realised it’s not my place. Culture difference, racial discrimination, political ideology to name just a few. So I moved to Singapore which had a job for me. I have no regrets. The country has a very efficient government, housing, medical, education needs are pretty well taken care of, not perfect but good compared to many developed countries. Crime rate is among the lowest. I believe If you have the talents you can try to apply for immigration here. Also Höng Kong which has a similar standard of living is also offering good opportunities to world talents to settle over there.

I saw many times the ads about Canadian Dream here in YouTube. It looks beautiful and promising, but turned out the reality is not like that. I wonder why their government encouraging people to immigrate to Canada but not really ready to accept them.

I'm only halfway through but feel I need to comment and well I'm not exactly a new Canadian. But I was born the but grew up in New Zealand. And well why not . I moved over there in 2014 with full rights as a citizen. My trade wasn't recognised. Canada has its own rules about everything. You need to have training to pour drinks in a bar wtf.! The husband is not really Muslim he’s in a relationship with a Muslim and this has necessitated him immersing himself in the culture in order to have her parents agree to their marriage. He has done this very well. \nThe wife’s parents came to Canada for a reason and I’m sure have enjoyed benefits of a democratic country. Fabulous video! US viewer here. But we often vacationed in Quebec’s Laurentians and our daughter went to Ontario’s University of Toronto for her undergraduate degree about 15 years ago. UofT was rigorous, to say the least, but she did it in 4 years, unlike some of her peers. She LOVED it, and made many friends, including internationals. They’ve stayed close on FB, and even get together (some flying in from other countries, including the Middle East and Asia) every 2 years or so back in Toronto. We’ve found the easiest way to make friends is by going to university or college together and living in residence, rather than once we’ve enter the workforce.\n\nThat said, and as unpolite as it may be, the root of Canada’s problems are exactly its politics. IMO Canada’s misguided liberal policies are to blame for its stratospheric taxes, cost of housing, increasing crime, tolerant drug culture, and deteriorating health care system. That Canada now encourages voluntary euthanasia to reduce health care costs should say it all. Margaret Sanger would be proud. And it promises to get worse as long as Justin Trudeau and his ilk are in power. His lionizing climate change intervention at the expense of what really impacts Canadians is sheer madness. Left in 2016, writing was on the wall, I was lucky to get out when I did. Many of my freinds and family members are now economically trapped. I have a small monthly income and could not have survived without staying employed which i no longer wished to do (60 yrs). I dont know how Canada can sustain that level of inflation. I am born in Canada and i lived in Montreal's suburb(South Shore like we say here) all my life and i love it but i would never live in big major cities because of increases of crimes, high prices of houses/condo, traffic jam, pollution. \nMy girlfriend from Beijing came here last september for 2 months and she really loved it. She enjoyed the freedom, the many different foods from other countries in restaurants, our culture , the people kindness, beautiful nature and easy living.\nYes we have too free medical health care here in Quebec's province(Sun card ) and i have an excellent medical plan with my employer so i can have acess to private clinics free of charges when it's too long in public hospitals.\nI hate snow and cold long winters since the age of 18 when i had to go out for work or school and i dont like our corrupt goverment but we can vote for a less worst one every 4 years. ?

Canada has really gone downhill in the last few years. I got here on 2017 and it was an entirely different country. I was diagnosed with cancer that year and was cancer free by 2018 thanks to Canada's health care system. If that happened in 2023 I don't think I would have made it to 2024.

Toronto people complain that really all they get is two, true warm months of summer. June is sort of warm, but it can be cold at night and suffer cold snaps. Finally warm August comes to an end. While many Americans to the south struggle through an Indian summer of continued high heat into September and even early October, September brings the cold temperatures back to Canada, not yet freezing, mind you, but full autumn where the jackets have to come out and you don't see the welcome, warm, sunny sunshine and the ability to sit outdoors wearing thin clothing.

The only thing I agreed with you is the price of housing in large cities. Canada is still a great country if one is willing to work. I maybe living in a cocoon, all my friends and my children’s friends are doing ok with their jobs and finances. The really uneducated and uninspired would suffered just like in any other country. Moved to Canada in 2017 and looking to leave in 2024. I was lucky to come here with a job and I’m making a six figure income even though I’m far from being successful. However, the problem with canada at the moment is even if you have a decent job and not too bad salary, you still can’t afford a home and the rent keeps going through the roof. Canada’s obsession with immigration is lazy and irresponsible. The politicians and elites see immigrants as cash cows and instead of creating companies that generate jobs and wealth, they speculate in the housing markets which are fuelled by immigrants. Immigration is not necessarily a bad thing but you do it with a plan, definitely not as radically as Canada did under the liberal government. The massive immigration only helps the rich, the already haves and the investors. Ask middle and lower classes how they feel about their life quality in Canada, do they really benefit from the immigration? They fight hard for jobs with minimum wages, pay for ridiculous rents, wait in the long line at the emergency rooms, get into bidding wars in the housing markets …. If you are not rich, simply don’t come to Canada. It’s not worth it unless you enjoy living from paycheck to paycheck and owning nothing.

Just regarding your crime stats and your section about safety - the homicide rate in Canada, and across all Canadian cities is very very very low relative to other comparable cities around the world, particularly the United States. For example, Toronto’s homicide rate in 2022 was 2.5 per 100,000 - compare this to a city like Chicago, comparable in size and population, which is 24 per 100,000. And this is not even nearly the highest in the US (which is St. Louis, MS at 69.4 per 100,000). The large percentage increase you mentioned in Canada’s national homicide rate is likely due to the fact that you are dealing with low base numbers to begin with - so small absolute increases can yield high percentages, and make it look much worse than it really is. Other types of reported crime may be up, and people may FEEL less safe (due to high levels of vagrancy, increased media reporting, and politicisation of crime trends) but Canada still remains a very safe place to live.

As a doctor in Turkey, I can say that some people decide what disease they have by looking on the internet or talking to their neighbors or friends. I'm really tired of this ignorance. I don't know what doctors experience in Canada. The most important part when diagnosing a disease is the patient's complaints, history of complaints, chronic diseases, whether there is a similar disease in his family, and physical examination. Tests normally do not have much significance in diagnosis. We perform tests mostly to support our diagnosis and to follow the course of the disease. The most important part is the history and physical examination. Diagnosing themselves is nothing but ignorance. This is not what we want.

CANADA is not a Muslim country , and you are asking for something that christians can not ask for in muslim countries , at least you have a passport that can take you far. I would hope you could find happiness in Canada. One of my concerns about living in a theocratic country would always be, is this choice really your own? Can you ever be certain, if faced with violations of your rights, that the choice is really yours? And, if not, can you consider yourselves as choosing Islam, rather than being forced into it, even if in absence of theocratic rule, you would have chosen it anyways? Maybe I’m overthinking it. I have the tendency to do that. I think if I were Muslim, I might choose Tunisia. I’ve known people from Tunisia and it sounds like they’re pretty open-minded, but still obviously predominantly Muslim. I’ve been to Dubai, and while I see many people recommending it, I honestly thought it was the worst combination of East and West. All the commercialization of the West, but none of the democracy. Plus, if you are not native Emiratis, you will always be second class. I’m from the US in what I think is the mini-Canada (ok, the Twin Cities) and we have a big Muslim community, but I’m very concerned Trump will win again in 2024, and I don’t know what will come of it.
