Because people are still sold to the Canadian dream they immigrate but they don't know how hard it is to live here. I am native here and french canadian, so I won't leave my birthplace unless for France (I have the nationality) because I feel home with other quebecers like me. We don't feel really Canadian, but Québécois! And our people are talkative and friendly. I love the people here in Qc. Even if it`s a poor country now, I feel a lot of countries are going throught the same situation of mass immigration and low income. About one week ago I asked a Manager in that location why there are so many of his staff one nationality and not a mixed of other nationality he could not explain himself. I live in Germany for about 6 years, moving from Bosnia and didnt have any of those problems mentioned, excluding the bureaucratic hurdels. Granted, i do speak German natively since ive spent my early childhood years here. Well, Trump announced declaring a National Emergency, and Deploying the U.S. Military to help with mass deportation, so there is a very strong reason to believe they intend to do just that. If they see it as a credible threat as of being destabilizing, as is to one of the main reasons of restrictions on immigration in the first place, to avoid overpopulation, or population control. Fundamentally speaking, 7-8 Billion people cannot all live in the lower 48 states of America ??. You have to regulate immigration for fundamental reasons. It’s the responsibility of the government, and more specifically or in any immediate scenario the current administration’s responsibility to address the current immigration status, that’s why it changes from administration to administration, to address the current status on immigration. If mass deportation is what is required to stabilize the situation, then that’s what they will do, and they will do whatever they have to do to accomplish that, depending on the critical nature of it. As someone who formerly worked with the DHS, and by extent, ICE, the real headache that comes with deporting someone is verifying a derpotee's nationality/country of origin, and getting said country to also verify the deportee's nationality. Information one with nothing to lose will most likely not give up willingly. Contrary to popular belief, you can't just take any illegal and throw them over the Mexican border (unless you're actually Mexican by Nationality.). If they're from any country that doesn't border the US, i.e Mexico or Canada, they must be repatriated to their countries via charter flights. Which is another diplomatic headache unto itself.
