As a retired Police Officer I pay attention to people who spend alot of time in certain isles without a shopping cart. And I think he was carrying a shopping bag. I'm black. I have seen white people walk through the grocery store eating chips, packaged danish and drinking soda, finish eating and leave the wrappings on a shelf, never thinking about paying. I saw a young black mother in CVS take toothpaste and drop it in the baby dag in the back of the baby carriage, without paying. If you work in a store they are told to watch out for shoplifters. I've seen video of white people joking they can go shoplifting anytime because the store employees or security are so busy watching black people. Unfortunately minorities are watched more. If I go in my handbage, or backpack I go into the main isle where everyone can see what I'm doing. They don't need to guess what I'm doing. That's just me.

I live in Jamaica, this is a black country. I get followed in our supermarkets, for this reason I dont go to supermarkets anymore, I allow my wife to go.\n\n\nI dont go anymore because I get offended. Why? because we have a problem of stealing and following me is accusing me of being a thief.\n\n\nI noticed that if I stop at a supermarket on my way home from work I dont get followed, my suit and tie changes my profile.\n\n\nThe problem is that the high incidence of theft is carried out by men and women who look and dress a certain way. Here's the thing, not only casually dressed or thug-looking people steal, it turns out that thieves come in a wide cross section. One supermarket displays empty Blue Mountain coffee bottles on their shelves because ladies steal them by placing them in their handbags on their way home from work.\n\n\nThe problem is that we need to change our reputation. If any group or caste of people have the highest rates of bad behavior, it will affect everyone fitting such description.

Remember when Brampton used to be a white ppl farm land like Caledon. Now it’s filled with black and brown people!

As a Mexican American I have faced all types of racism from people of different races, including my own. I lived in Mexico for a while when I was young and would get bullied by kids who knew I was born in the U.S. Teachers also treated me different; some treated me worse than they treated the other kids, and others favored me because I was American. When I moved to Philadelphia I attended a school that was predominantly black and asian. I was the only hispanic in my class. At the time Spanish was my main language and my English was “rusty,” which led to constant bullying from classmates. They would call me “dookie face,” tell me to “go back to my country,” and even had some girls put gum on my hair. I would cry every day. I later on moved to Chicago to an area that was mostly hispanic, and that didn’t stop the bullying, either. After I finally refined my English, I no longer wanted to speak Spanish unless it was to my parents. Yes, I guess the constant bullying pushed me to feel like I had to separate myself from my hispanic heritage. When my hispanic classmates spoke to me in Spanish I only responded in English, which would make them mad and they would think that I thought I was “better than them.” Anyway, that was long ago and now as an adult I can reflect on these things so that I don’t make the same mistakes. I get along with everyone and the only thing that changes how I feel about someone is their character, not their appearance.

This is what I think. Do your test with white people in Indian reservations, in Muslim communities, and black communities. Then we can compare racism. I am sick of white people being branded racial without any comparison in reverse. My most racial experience was on an Indian reservation where both white and Indian were suppose to be christians at a prayer meeting. As you can guess I am mostly white. Plus, Do not blame companies who are targeted by a specific group of people. As a manager of a jewelry store years back, i had a great distaste of young men or boys, under 20. Why because I was targeted for gold chains, by them. Especially when they wore hoodies. Do not target whites only for racialism.

This isn't racism it's more paranoia. How a race or an individual represents themselves will yield different responses. i.e. no one associate Black people with crime if you didn't have a 10 billion dollar a year Hip Hop industry selling that image to people. etc.

Being a Ukrainian/Dutch/Indonesian Canadian I'm not here crying about the genocide of my relatives by the Russians or Americas/Japanese which were both much more recent than any black slavery its funny how these people's whole outlook and lifestyle revolve around something that happened hundreds of years ago when there is much more recent issues

the people in the American continent and other western countries in Europe which are predominately Christians and liberals are now faced with a difficult challenge; since the free western world allowed the Muslim immigrants from the Muslims and other Arab countries to take refuge in their own countries, now they are engaged in a constant battle against their respective contrasting values, religious principles, and cultural practices....the big question now is which thoughts and culture will prevail? because, unlike the conflict on slavery centuries hence, the issue and concern then was merely black or white people or racial (about color of the skin).....now it is more relatively sensitive, complex and extremely serious......my issue thus, is how can a liberal, freedom loving and religious tolerant western society deal with an intolerant, discriminating, extremely arrogant and most often violent Muslim believers living in their own communities.......Clearly Europe and America is being Muslimized..my worry is that Europeans do not see the semblance between Muslim with communism...both seek to overthrow the prevailing order to fit theirs.

They were the Mayans, Incas, Aztecs, and North American Tribes. Before I moved to Brampton, I had no idea HOW MANY Indians actually lived here. I'm of south Asian descent but I grew up here as a Canadian. I still keep my culture but I'm Canadian FIRST. It's true too, some of them don't believe in deodorant, holy shit I literally had to tell a guy who sat beside me on the bus that he smelled. I know it was rude but if someone doesn't tell these people, they will think not wearing deodorant is normal. I miss the Canada I grew up in. My friends were mostly white but there was a nice mix of us: white, black, asian so we all got along. Today, everyone is in their own groups, strangers are the enemy, there is so much more segregation than there has ever been. Not long ago at a Tim Hortons I heard an Indian guy who was clearly new to the country telling his friend he didn't have to learn English because everyone in Brampton speaks Punjabi, it was insulting hearing that.....Listen up Indians and any immigrants coming here: BEFORE you come here, learn English, LEARN the customs and learn the CANADIAN WAY. You owe it to Canada, give something back before you start taking.

I like racism. Blacks SHOULD like blacks best. Whites should like whites best. Blue birds don’t EVER hang out with red cardinals. It’s not natural! Racism will always exist. It’s natural to be attracted and prefer your own race. This is NOT wrong. Stop telling people to feel...unnatural.

Hello, I'm Afro-Latin and I just have one question, it's Canada a good place for black people who want to go there to live, will my kids be save of racism being black????? And at this point there is not really a place free of racism in the whole world, very often I heard that if your are black and Latino you are f....k twice, like you have to work double or triple to be recognized, it doesn't matter your skill level. I've been doing a research about which country will be better for my family and raise my kids, and log time I was thinking that Canada was the way to go but I'm not so sure now, but thing is that when you try to search, at least in youtube or google places where black people can generally live without any concerns, there is almost none. ?!

What a great show. I wish there was a black celebration centre in every big city in Canada. It's wonderful to share this information with my children although it is not enough. Also, Jamaican restaurants are always empty in BC. I always wonder why the food is so good and the restaurants are empty. The chairs need to be comfortable and I like it when there is already a table or two of people (it's like a testimonial without words...) You could perhaps let a table of people eat for free if they stay there all day - it would help.

That's not true at all . I live in Brampton south lots of Italian, Portuguese and Jamaicans. Majority in Brampton is black people and Portuguese. There are areas there lots of Punjabi that's true. But not all Brampton is Panjabi.

I did not know that these so-called educated people does not know that Canada is north America too,it only two different countries.But it is the same thing going on their with black people, only because it is not done on a large scale, like the united States.I have some relatives living in Canada over 45 years, friends over 38 years and.They talked about some form of racist against them, only it is not done on a large scale like the united States.Some of those Canada who they called snow birds, whenever they came to the united States.They are behaving like they own the country,or the complex where they are living.Nobody does not like them because of their racist behaviour against black people, so some people does not know about.The reason why it is done on a large scale as the united States, only because it does not populated like the united States as the world 2nd largest country.We have read where black people been turned away from entering certain building, only because it is not done on a regular scales like the united States.

I live in Houston Texas. People often say that Mexicans take jobs that no one else will do. That may have been true at some point but now that we are overwhelmed by the illegal immigrants every business only hires Mexicans that speak perfect Spanish and not so perfect English. So blacks, whites and other cultures are stuck! If I wanted to live in Mexico I would move there and learn their language why do they refuse to learn ours? I love every Mexican that I have met. I also love water but I do not want to be dropped into the middle of the ocean. There are at least 350 languages spoken in America why are we bending over backwards 2 make our country bilingual to Spanish and not all the other languages?

I dont know how black people are not sensing by now that this slavery story is suspect - even in this Canada roundup they have to push the idea that Canada had black slavery - wake up people there is a reason why we are choked with this slavery story from cradle to grave. Not all white store workers who ask you if you need help are doing so because they think you will steal. Yes, I believe you! I know it happens, but I am a cashier, and sometimes I work on self scan. During very slow times, I will see confused customers looking around, so I ask if they need help. I do that with black, white or Hispanic people. I ONLY do it if they look confused. I enjoy helping people, so for me, it's altruistic. Please don't assume all are suspicious of you. Try and know the difference between the suspicious ones vs the ones who truly care.

Racism...even from Asians against black people, but they do not talk about it. Racism... even from black people with light skin against black people with dark skin. (Just watch how many black girls with dark skin have opportunities in US, and compare with black girls with light skin). There is a lot of BS in this video. Stores like Best Buy will always have employees come up to you and ask if you need help ESPECIALLY if you linger. Then there are some facts. My brother worked at a Sprint Retail store and tells me that 100% of the people caught stealing were blacks. So the black community can thank other blacks for the discrimination. \n\nAlso, if you are dressed a certain way, don’t complain if you are followed. \n\nIs there racism? Hell, yes!
