The problem is simple. If its an issue of cost of living, while its true that it is very high, its very high across the industrialized world. That is because the causes influencing cost of living are not related to inside Canada but are being influenced by foreign actors which Canada has no control over. The Ukraine-Russia War for example is causing increases to food costs which are not easily overcome. The situation in the Middle East between Hamas and Israel threatens to spiral into a regional war and that threatens the oil supply and the present price for oil and gas. The Houthi have been making it hard to traverse the Red Sea which is forcing shipping to travel around Africa rather than directly through the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean Sea meaning those additional fuel costs get transferred over to the consumer. As for housing, while efforts to cool housing markets have been made, Canada's housing market is still relatively hot meaning the prices remain high in big cities. Its like a perfect storm. Increased costs on mortgages are an attempt to push down inflation but in the short term you are going to feel that as well. Also we are living in a transition period as the world sinks back to the older model of trade before before Bretton Woods in 1947 which is leading to a decoupling of product lines that at one time coming from Asia were cheap but are not more expensive because they are being made back in the home countries. Transitions do come with a price. Finally, add taxes which help to deal with health care, social programs and government services like embassies, foreign missions and the army well yeah its a perfect storm.\n\nI hope you have luck where you end up but do not for a minute assume that the grass is greener on the other side. Even Japan which attempts to keep certain costs low, has been forced to increase its national consumption taxes to offset overall costs. It isn't going to get cheaper but more expensive as we move back to the old trade model. However, as the world weans itself off of the World Trade Organization and the IMF, the world also re-opens the potential to a Great Depression because that was the reason Bretton Woods appeared in the first place. The world isn't going to get better but far worse.

I have been hearing this racist rant since I came 53 years ago blaming the immigrants. I have never worked less than 50 hrs a week since coming to Canada and am enjoying my hard-earned retirement. I'm afraid you don't mention that all Students must bring at least $50,000 for their duration. Imagine all the jobs they created e.g. Teachers, bought food and other essentials. By the way, they have their own medical insurance. There is a shortage of workers, and small businesses can find workers. The other day we stopped in Barry'Bay for coffee they were closing the place at 2:30 pm because they didn't have enough people. You cannot blame students for the housing crisis there are other factors. Canada's economy is doing fine compared to other G-7 countries. More foreign students will fuel the research and development of this country, so please respect them.

Stop criticizing International student! They bring money here to boost economy and hardly collect money for living here during their stay. Yeah those who work on cash should be monitored. And their spouse every country allow them, if you know international students are bringing money, talent and spouse as a work force why aren’t you stopping other working VISAS who simply doesn’t bring anything

Thanks so much for this video! I admire the hard working and awesome culture of most people I have met who have come to Canada from India! We definitely needed help in filling in the deficit of employees that are needed in Canada! It is a shame that ALL political parties did not solve the housing issue which we knew was going to be a problem, many decades ago, even well before the Harper government! This is not rocket surgery! LOL\nIn Northern Ontario we have a LOT of Indian immigrants. All the ones I have met are very well educated even though they are working in the service industries! I know several Indian Canadians who are Doctors, Teachers and Engineers! Almost all of my experiences have been positive! Of course it is human nature to always highlight issues, for example: I caught one group of people throwing garbage in a parking lot, and immediately notified them that they had dropped something, and even followed them with the garbage. One of the group stated, it was just trash. I told him there was a garbage can right over there, and I just KNEW that they did not want to throw it just lose on the ground, and wanted to help keep our town clean. They said sorry and politely picked it up and placed it in the garbage can. Hopefully lesson learned! I politely and respectfully spoke out, to a good resolution.\nMy parents were immigrants from war-torn Germany. I know ALL about prejudice for new immigrants. Our parents being German-Canadian at a time right after WW2, where MOST Canadians had an Uncle, a Father, a Grandfather or someone they knew who had fought and some died because of Germans! Although I am not a person of colour, so I personally do not know that side of prejudice. We all need to treat each person as an individual and try not to paint all peoples with one brush! Yes, it's out of control now. I am not against internet student but they should know their limitations. Giving them working permit is a privilege already. How about us Canadian who pay their taxes. Spouses of international student shouldn't be given a working visa. Now we are having a hard time to find a job. Even me it's more than a year now that I can't find a job. I even applied in Tom Hortons but no luck at all. How are we going to survived? No more EI. I've been here in Canada for 32 yrs. We have to eat and pay our bills too. This is not fair. Govt. Things must be done in the right and proper way thousands of illegal immigrants just come to USA walk over the border come in Canada and get free houses, Some don't come to work they hear Canada give free houses,Money and health care,they get thousands of dollars yearly.Thousands come as international students says they come to go to school and flocking Food Banks which a lot now have to close.Hundreds of Canadian work very hard and loose their jobs in COV19 and can't get no help and living under trees and these people come never work here get free houses, medical and money while hard working seniors are suffering.The system is too open and slack.Canada is too open it is the only country that takes in what other countries refuse the boarders need to be struck like U S A. CANADA is a real nightmare for international students, and the visas must be renewed every two or three months. My cousin went to school there and she had a hard time. They wanted proof of income from her parents and the source of their income. It is too cold there and it is not for me. They have empty land and need workers. They want them from Europe and not Africa or the Caribbean. Students in other countries get a yearly visa and don't have to submit documents monthly. It is ridiculous and grossly unfair.

No more immigration until every skilled labor can afford a house with hard work.

Before 2019 it was hard to find a job and now after this massive number of students bringing from India . Blame the government for allowing many lower level indians from punjab to come on student visa. I work with Indian in my company. The ones who came\nWith express entry and they are hard working and know how to behave. But the ones who came to study in diploma mills who have never worked corporate jobs nor know how to speak English are a no no \n\n. I am so thankful I have Greek and Macedonian citizenship. As soon as I'm done with my education, I'm moving back to Greece or Macedonia, somewhere there are hardly any Indians. I literally get lucky to see 4-5 white, black, or latinos a day in my city, the rest are all Indian, Pakistani, and Arabs. I don't feel like I'm living in Canada anymore, I feel like I'm living in the Middle-East. I only have 2 more years of university and then if I don't go to Greece or Macedonia, it'll be because there's too many Middle-Easterners there too, and I will go someplace like Korea or Vietnam, where there are practically no Middle-Eastern people. Sorry, but you're right about them being rude, and they act like they're entitled to everything. It's disgusting and I've had enough. The problem will only get worse even if we shutdown immigration, because there are so many here already, and they don't have kids, they have litters of 5-10 children per family. Soon the whole country will just be Middle-Eastern, just give it a few decades. If you can get out of Canada and go someplace else, I suggest you do now, before it's too late.

Canadian students miss out on summer jobs as a result of Indian students hogging up available jobs. It is sadly obvious that Tim H outlets in Toromto are predominantly staffed by Indian students. Let me add that the Indian students are upstanding, good, intelligent people. I have grown fond of many and they are very well mannered and hard working. I only have praise for them. But concerned for native Canadian students, who also need the jobs too.

So interesting to hear governments that perpetuated mass immigration now do a complete 180 and start restricting it. I made sure i had enough funds to sustain myself here in canada for 2 years until i can get my work permit then a head to PR. Nowdays I see a lot of international Students get access or abusing goverment facilities and benefits for which not entitle for them but Canadian residence only (PR or Canadian Citizen). I never ask for Cerb when covid happen, never ask food bank my part time job can fullfill that, paid my fare for using transportation, paid my rents and utilities on time and paid my credit cards. Lastly i never complaint focus on my study and I get good high paying jobs. I am proud to contribute to Canadian Economy as an Immigrant.\n\nThe question is are they doing the same? If you cannot sustain yourself dont add your burden to the country. We (Canadian Residence) paid heavy taxes from our sweat to cover ur burden and debt. Why they always issued Indian more and more students visas . Most of these Indian students take admission in under graduate diplomas courses. They hardly speak English . How they hell they pass IELTS and these kind of exams. They use all the unfair means to reach Canada.

As what experienced, i knew so much international students from India, Nepal who are students here, some work with them having a lot of issues now. Not enough money to pay their tuition/rent/food. As when they enter, parents support them and after months or a year , they stop sending money. It affects student as can’t really afford to support themselves, having hard time to find job as there are limit to their work hours. It will not pay off their bill entirely. It end up looking for cash job everywhere. There is no much cash job anymore. \n\nGovernment should take action to this!!! \n\nLucky those who came years ago as they were not much international students as to compare today. \n\nI feel this students but government keep bringing them to Canada without checking this situation…. Unemployment is real!!!

Beauty lies in eyes and love in hearts of people. Likes and dislikes are not based on physical things but person's values which varies from one to another. Beauty is not defined it is found in heart and mind. I lived and worked in 5 countries and found the nicest things in all including people. Diversity of landscape and people create our world most beautiful. How can you even rank without diversity of nature, landscape and of course people. I discovered most beautiful things about some of the countries when I came across what my heart said BEAUTIFUL and not statistics. Biggest beauty in world is the way you accept things as they are and find good in the very opportunity you had to discover our beautiful world. This is what I will say for Canada. Canada is very beautiful with its diversity regarding landscape, nature and of course beautiful people who are hard working, loving, and most of all able to find beauty in every single thing about country. True harmony comes from accepting differences.

There have been Indians here my whole life. They were very respectable, hard working and educated. They integrated well into Canadian society and contributed. The past 10 years or so we have been flooded with Indians and Middle Easterners who refuse to integrate and have a taking mentality. It’s making Canadians very angry and resentful. Canadians of all backgrounds. Why are we disproportionally allowing people in from Western Asia? We need a balance of people from everywhere. We also need to get a lot pickier about who we allow in. It’s infuriating having so many foreign students. I blame the government for all of this. Meanwhile what we really mean by multiculturalism is be Canadian FIRST and on special occasions or in the privacy of your own home celebrate your ancestry. Learn everything about what is valued and cherished in Canada. I lived overseas growing up as an x pat and adjusted to the culture of the country I lived in at the time. Most of my friends who live in Germany are unhappy about their immigration. They said racism of german people annoy them and It’s very hard to learn and speak Deutsch. Most importantly,after many years German people don’t accept them as a native like them.

Go and read about how 'Passport Index' work. People blame government for India's low ranking whereas the factors affecting the ranking are based on how people of that country behave in foreign land. Whether they come legally and leave before their visa expires. Whether they pay tax or do crime. That's all I am saying. We are the ambassadors of our country and it is our duty to act civil when we are in foreign land as they see us as Indians irrespective of our caste, creed, religion. If you are unskilled to get a job in India then you are definitely unskilled everywhere in the world. Also, people should actually research about how pathetic is the infra in other countries that they so admire. No one shows the truth about what's going on in other countries as the whole world is busy blaming India and Indians. Is it so hard to understand that one should not do 'illegal' things?
