So I’m going to echo a lot of the other comments here regarding gun violence. The number ONE cause of death to children is gun violence. Not illness,not car accidents, not poverty or abuse…GUNS. \nBut here is what I found so strange. I’ve never walked into a place of business in Canada that was so clearly diverse. I went into a ladies clothing store and everyone stopped and looked at me like “what are you doing here” I’m white and everyone else was black. And I was like “ what is going on” I thought, is this a thing? My friend had the same experience. He walked into a barber shop, he’s white and all the men were black. He didn’t get it either. In both cases we were treated very well and when they realized we were Canadian we all understood the situation. Because in Canada that just wouldn’t happen. I wouldn’t want to live in a country where even businesses are segregated. That’s just a sad situation.

I don't think anyone truly understands how difficult, time-consuming and painful the US immigration process is unless they either work in the system or have immigrated. My dad has been waiting for an F4 visa since 2007 (priority date December 2007) to come to the US and be reunited with his family, It doesn't look like he'll get the visa within the next 5 years even though he's been waiting for 16 years.He's just one of the millions of people trapped in the broken American immigration system.His experience has thought me to never even try to immigrate to the US.

US immigration system is broken but it's still the best in western world if you are in engineering, mathematics and tech. I studied and worked in US, moved to India for personal reasons. I realized its difficult to adjust back in India, and US will never let me naturalize, so I moved to Canada. But Canada has hardly any jobs of its own, most of people in tech here work for American companies. In US, even an aerospace, biomedical, virology or genetic engineering person can find job in his/her field despite being on job visa, but in Canada its very tough. \nFew weeks back, I met an Uber driver who came to Canada 4+ years back, mechanical/automative engineer and was not able to find a job in his field despite no need for license with advance education and many years of relevant experience. He became Canadian citizen few weeks back, and guess what, he received 2 job offers in US and was moving to US on TN visa. \nI am myself working on something in Canada that is not my specialization. In US, I can get multiple messages from top government contractors for scientist/researcher positions, but I could not work for them as I don't have citizenship. In canada, despite being a PR, I know many experienced people who are forced to drive uber or do survival jobs.

They probably have never paid a penny to the Canadian Pension fund get out!!

Minimum salary in Canada is 2lakhs per month while that is the income of an IIM graduate in India. No one with a salary less than 2 lakh can afford to build a decent size flat in Delhi NCR. Also the quality of flat that you get in India can never be compared by the size of house you get with a backyard, driveway and a garage in canada. \nCivic is no less than 25 lakhs in India and cars are unaffordable in India. Cars are cheaper in USA/Canada/Australia.

The main problem IMHO is that H-1B was never meant to begin working after having studied. The reason employer HAVE to go this route is because an Employment based greencard with the PERM DoL approval, the I-140 employer petition and the I-485 takes 2-4 years + plus endless wait due to country quotes for India and China. In the 1980ies and 1990ies that took 3-6 months and you began the process while you were still at university but found an employer ready and willing to employ you.\nThat has always been the standard way to live in the US via employment.\n\nFor Sanjay - if he gets an employer petition I-140 - has one hope though - there is a change in the pipeline to give Employment Authorization (the red cards) upon approved I-140 and filed I-485 even before the priority date. Fingers crossed.

Americans get health insurance through their jobs; that’s true. What happens when you get cancer, have years of treatment, lose your job and have to renew your health insurance? You decide whether you continue treatment and bankrupt your family or just quit treatment, fold your hands and go. \nA child born with lifelong care needs, entrepreneurs that develop diabetes and the complications that can result, or any other unexpected long term medical condition that insurance doesn’t cover or is a “preexisting condition “ that cancels your coverage. All that is never a concern in Canada.

NO WAY!! I send my kids to school and don’t worry about them getting shot. My teenage daughter gets pregnant and I wouldn’t be bankrupt. \nIn Canada, there was a time when the federal government’s official opposition party had, as its platform the separation of one of our provinces out of the Canadian nation. That’s freedom of speech! That would never be tolerated in the USA.

Consider this: You can get a whole bachelor's degree for the price of a single year in an American university. It's why there's a surprising number of American profs in Canadian schools. I'll never forget the American professor of political philosophy who argued that taxation and social programs were bad because they disincentivized charity. What a laugh!

Being in Canada , I feel it's a country for humans and but India people are becoming animals and devil, it's never about money or car or house, it is about safety, security, quality of life, ethics , moral and don't get trapped by house costs becoz no labour in India earns 1.25 lakhs a month and those who earn they cannot buy house in easy go, the house in India belongs to parents but if today's generation has to build one in India it's close to impossible so it's same , at the end I would never want that my small daughters are unsafe , my mother sister or any known female can be paraded naked or someone can urinate on your face ,

Coming aboard on professional job and having those top notch skill set is not everyone cup of tea. Watching these so called Desi.. one thing is for sure they will never comprehend professional skill set. These are the people who have navrangilala ke sapne.. which take a big blow when they get hit will real life pressure. Not to mention handling pressure is a privilege. This Canadian lived in Orange County CA for 10 years. I took my the 12 year old with me. I had been offered my dream job and was paid enough to have a good standard of living. However, I lived in an immigrant community to save money as I found many of the high schools were horrid compared to Canada. I had not realized the school to school inequality to be so extreme and my kid changed to independent study at home. So with a Canadian elememtary education, they graduated high school a year only while skipping no courses..\n\nMy kid had medical issues and even with good HMO insurance, we could never get a decent diagnosis until it had gotten so bad that their digestive system was so wrecked. I finally sent them back to Canada for the surgery that we could not get in the USA. It seemed the insurance companies kept getting in the way. And in one case a doctor went all religious on us. After 6 years of almost continuous pain they finally got relief for a decade until the prior damage came back to haunt them However, after a year of university ib Canada my kid went to a private university in the eastern USA. They have decided to remain in the USA and now in their mid 30s, they make really good money anf have top line medical insurance which pays for the ongoing care they need because of the damage caused by delays when a teenager. \n\nI found life in the suburbs of Orange County nice but the OC is not a good place to meet people. When after 10 years there, in 2010 I returned to Vancouver to care for my elderly mother. I had been living alone for 6 years by then and was offered the first job in Vancouver anything close to me dream job there. and I returned to Canada at age 59. I had been approved for a green card in 2008 but there was a 6 year wait for it to come through. But I noticed the racism in the USA start breaking out all over the place when Obama got elected. And it has gotten worse and worse every year. Especially with 45 enabling it so much. \n\nMy circle of friends in Southern California are mainly good people and not at all like what we call MAGA-hats now. Except one who thinks 45 was the greatest. Politically, the USA is on the path that Germany was on in 1933 and I fear for the US Democracy if the Orange One gets in again. Even my kid and their spouse have bug out plans to head to Canada just in case. This is why my kid, while having a green card has never taken US citizenship. Besides, being a Canadian has not affected things the two times they got security clearances \n\nWhile most Americans are good people, it seems that about 25% have gone just plain loco and care nothing about democracy. And appear to prefer the USA to be a totalitarian theocracy \n\nI was there long enough, paying the maximum FICA taxes for 10 years to get a small pension from Social Security and I have Medicare Part A. I can afford to buy parts B and D but I see no reason. I have even better coverage in Canada for way less cost. The USA has a nice warm climate in many places and I just loved that. But otherwise y'all have too many people who want to turn the place into an intolerant police state and to return the country to 1950s levels of intolerance, So in my retirement, I will stay here in Canada. Even though I could go and move in with my kid in the USA and get onto US Medicare.

As a parent, I could never consider moving to the US (not that I would otherwise). I think you are a bit misguided on your view that there are “safe” bubbles… sandy Hook, Uvalde, Littleton Colorado… these were all places that one would typically consider “safe” yet they are some of the most tragic shooting stories we hear of, and it gets reported on worldwide due to the sheer grossness of the violence against children. \nAlso, the fact that there are so many hateful people in the US that literally refuse to believe factual evidence is just too much for me! Like a bunch of ‘Flat-Earthers’…

When you try to minimize inequality you drag the top achievers downwards to the dregs of society, it never goes in the other direction. Inequality is a positive good because it means in a free capitalist society that the person got a job or maybe started a business and is getting more money for producing something of worth. The unequal person is of course at home doing drugs, playing video games or being idle. The best societies can only be unequal. As an example when you start out of school you make peanuts but then you become a self made millionaire and then you are drastically unequal to your school leaving young self.

I'm Canadian and worked in Dertoit for almost 10 years, I crossed the border daily working for GM. I've also done work in Louisiana, Indiana and all around Michigan. \nAmerica has some of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. It's a beautiful country and has a ton to offer anyone with an ounce of drive. The variety you have in your economy is amazing, we don't have a lot of choice when we buy stuff, you guys have so much more to choose from, take restaurants for example, I've never seen so many chain restaurants in one place, we have a handful of them. \nFrom what I've seen, there's also a lot of poverty, crime and violence, but that's literally everywhere right now, even here in Canada, we don't prosecute violent crime anymore. The gun issue is probably the biggest problem...I always felt extremely vulnerable out in public, especially driving, because I assumed everyone had a gun on them, I seen so many random guns on people, it just blew my mind. I always had to keep in mind when I was driving not to road-rage...That's how you get shot. The health care industry in America is nothing but a business model designed to bankrupt people. Our system isn't great at all...nothing to boast about. If you have to visit the ER at any hospital, you'd better bring food and water, you'll be there at least 8 hours before you're even seen by a doctor. Our health care is free yes, but we're taxed to death here because of it. I do indeed wish we had a 2-teir health care system, I want the option to pay to get seen soonest. America and Canada have free(ish) speech. We're both being ruled by leftist loonies, but that's all changing in our next respective election cycles. Biden and Trudeau will be shown the door and we can hopefully get back to healthy debate and more conversation in society...Instead of automatically dismissing each other, vitriolic badgering one another and hating each other. We had unity for a brief time, we all saw it, after 9/11 happened. We put our petty crap aside and saw each other as brothers and sisters. That didn't last very long and we've been in a constant state of crisis ever since. The media has driven a huge nail right through society, and takes a blow at every single issue we face, making it Left vs Right...\nIt's unfortunate to say, but it's going to take something truly devastating, possibly on a biblical scale, for us to come together again.

Never.\nI don't get the gun laws.\nIt is time to modify that Second Amendment. \nIt was for a different time in history.\nHow can a country which considers herself the best in the world, not care for it's most vulnerable?\nThe prospect of another Trump presidency is absolutely terrifying, not just for the US,but for the entire world.\nThe laws in some of the southern states are archaic. \nIt is as if the country is moving backwards. Canadians are too kind and polite to tell you a straight N O... never in a million years would I move to the USA. There are too many reasons never to move there! Between your nasty guns and Second Amendment #*!$$#@ ( times have changed since 1776!) It's almost like you can't even trust your own family or Neighbors with your stupid gun laws. What about medical? Ours is FREE and it doesn't matter if you have pre-existing conditions ever. We do not get the Hurricanes, tornadoes, major flooding, and extremely ugly ugly politics. I'm not saying we're perfect but we're a hell of a lot better than the u.s.a. there are many many more reasons but I have not mentioned.

I think it’s more of the possibility of getting shot by either the police or the public scares me the most (yes I don’t trust the USA police). Also the USA police seem to be way more aggressive than the Canadian police (choking people to death, and more violent arrests than in Canada). I wouldn’t never move to the USA just because of the police brutality and shootings. Also when I was in the USA for a trip I still was nervous if it was safe half the time.

I would NEVER move to the US- ANYWHERE - between the batshit crazy, political (fascist)-racist-religious fanaticism, crappy private education in many jurisdictions not to mention the guns and the absolutely disgusting attitude towards healthcare (it is only good for some things, doesn't include a lot of what we get covered here in Canada and if you lose your job, you lose your coverage). The ONLY good thing the US has in advantage over Canada is the currency exchange and there isn't enough of everything else in the US to make up for that!

8:15 there’s a reason for this. It’s a melting pot in America. Bringing all these different cultures together… but if too many from one country show up, they’ll make a community too large that they don’t need to melt with the population. There are Chinatowns and Little Italys and whole Mexican communities, but ultimately everyone has to interact with everyone else. Allowing 300,000 Indians to get green cards every year and only 1,000 Norwegians would lead to the Norwegians merging well with the country, while the Indians would all move to one or two cities and make entire sections of the cities like small versions of their own country. Which is the last thing we want. Once an immigrant community gets enough power to be a voting block, things are scary, but once it has enough power that they start getting their own representatives and passing laws for the rest of us? Laws the look like laws they had back in their own countries… that led them to run from their countries in the first place? It’s a concern. We want people to adapt to the USA and not try to adapt the USA to them. Over time, the US does change due to the growing voting blocs. But that’s after generations of those immigrant populations getting larger, and their children being born and raised in the country they’ve adapted to. When I see a protest of Muslim immigrants burning pride flags, or Chinese and Spanish-speaking Hispanic immigrants who never bothered to learn English, I see problems with our immigration system. But the kids of the Arab immigrants will be more tolerant, and the Hispanic kids will have grown up in American schools. Most Chinese-American kids might speak some Chinese at home with their parents, but they’re worse at it, and their first language is English. It takes second Generation immigrants to really start meshing with America. But if entire school districts are all Indian, and every store, restaurant, and business in a whole town is Indian, then those kids won’t adapt to America. They won’t get bits of their home culture from their time at home and with their neighbors, while also getting bits of American culture from their classmates and other people around them. Nope. They’ll only be exposed to the first Generation who completely took over the area- IF, we allowed for unfettered immigration from the largest countries. It’s a fact that immigrant communities like to stick together. But if not enough people are in that community that you need to reach out to others around you, it helps expose you to the rest of America… Anyway! There are a ton of shows that indirectly show this phenomena. Fresh Off the Boat. The Sopranos. Even Brooklyn 99. We see as traditional and hard-to-adapt parents have to deal with kids in the next generation who are more American, don’t follow the same customs and traditions as their parents, and overall just left more of their old culture behind. No one is asking that immigrants abandon their cultural ties, but if you come to America, there are things that people need to change and accept if they’re going to live here.

I have mixed feelings about this video. This video does a good job outlining the immigration process but it does not highlight any of the negative consequences of immigration that Canada is experiencing. One of the main reasons why cost of living is so high in Toronto and Vancouver is precisely because we have so many immigrants coming in without enough housing supply. This is by design because politicians and the upper class have a vested interest in keeping real estate prices high because so much of their net worth is tied up in the housing market.\n\nAnother negative is that employers hire immigrants working low skilled jobs and pay them less than Canadians because the immigrants are willing to be taken advantage of since they're just happy to have a job in Canada which pays better than their country. \n\nAnother myth that gets repeated is that Canadian takes immigrants out of compassion and unfortunately a lot of Canadians believe this. It was never about compassion, it's about bringing more people to 1) pay taxes to support our social welfare as Canadian birth rates decline and boomers retire, 2) keep housing costs high and 3) pay immigrants lower wages for the same work because immigrants are fine being exploited since they have a job in a first world country.\n\nAnother problem is the cultural shift. In the most immigrant-dense regions you'll find that many immigrants themselves surprisingly don't want more immigrants coming to Canada because they see these negative consequences. The people who are most pro-immigration have no problem cramming 8+ people in a basement and exploiting their labour because they make enough money to live in communities that immigrants can't afford, and so they don't have to deal with the cultural shift that's taking place. This is NOT the fault of immigrants, but rather the politicians who put economic growth over quality of life. Over HALF the people in the GTA weren't born in Canada, so they didn't go through our school system and have no connection to our culture. Canada is unfortunately going to become very racist over the next 10-20 years as Canadians start feeling like outsiders in their own country. It's somehow considered racists to criticize the effect of multiculturalism on social unity, yet the cultures we accept in Canada only became distinct cultures because of monoculturalism.

I never realized how lucky my family was to get citizenship as quickly as we did. We got our green card months after applying in 2017 and we're Indian.

You don't even need to study or work in Canada to get permanent residency, I just filled some forms online, got invited, showed some documents and got mine. I never even visited the country before and the first time I landed was as a PR.\n\nA college in Canada is the long route to get PR, but it's pretty much guaranteed. If you already have work experience outside Canada, 2 diplomas and good english/french you can go straight to PR.

This is an INACCURATE and SHALLOW video. Just because America is doing it wrong, doesn’t mean we’re doing it right. \n\n1) Canada (we) are accepting immigrants because of a wider tax base (increasing older population) and projections for where we need people. The key word is projections and it clearly is not showing well; just read today’s Globe and Mail. \n\n2) There are 500-600 applicants per job in tech, and we are going through massive layoffs. We will never have the tech sector of London or SF because we are more conservative and smaller in population. \n\n3) Housing has become INSANE as you mention. It’s in the papers every day for the past few years, without any solution. \n\n4) We have no coherent view of immigration, and no surprise, we’ve had four ministers in the past 6-7 years with none of them doing a great job. \n\nOur beautiful country Canada is basically prostituting itself for international students fees and low wage jobs without any plan. I'm a Chinese Born Canadian trying for a green card and this hits close to home. \n\nI have a coworker grew up in the Midwest, who doesn't know how to read or write Chinese but faced the risk of being deported back to China because his father never managed to get a green card. This guy had a PhD in Machine Learning and was one of the smartest people i knew. \n\nI would've felt supremely guilty if i'd won the lottery but he was stuck on his student visa, given that I can work in the US on a TN but he needs an H1B to stay.

No matter what kind of insurance you have, you still have to deal with a stupid amount of red tape and bureaucracy just to get your care covered, and the drug prices are out of control. and you have no idea when that horrible health issue is going to happen to you. In Canada, I go to the doctor, I give my health card, done deal. The healthcare system in Ontario particularly is under attack and they're trying to privatize hospital care by underfunding everything else. But our premier is also a Conservative Trump Lite wannabe who is buddy buddy with a lot of rich folks.There are absolutely problems here, Canada is dysfunctional in a lot of ways. But I would NEVER move to the states, definitely not as a disabled/chronically ill woman. Hell no. Also--we're not THAT nice, Americans are always surprised at how much Canadians dislike the USA. My brother moved there but he's much more conservative than me (for Canada) and his job doesn't exist here in Canada.

This is highly biased just because they have moved to Canada doesn’t necessarily mean that Australia is any less .Both are DEVELOPED nations to be very precise .Australia has the highest wedge rates and yes as compared it’s hard to get into Australia than Canada because Australia is more into skilled workers it’s twice the size of India with only 2.5 cr of population and they manage their population and jobs at their best which is commendable and the same is with Canada as well .Every country has their own norms and have their pros and cons just because one couple has faced some issue with Australia doesn’t necessarily mean all the people have faced the same thing again it depends on the field you are working at . Covid has changed perspective and situations of every country one more Point Australia has never entered recession in 4 decades that’s a great point to consider . There is nothing wrong if these developed nations having strict barriers to consider people from outside as they want to manage things at their best be it for their own or international people living their which is the best thing any country can do for themselves and most importantly what people need to understand if they are from developing nations is that any developed country will be difficult be it CANDA ,AUSTRALIA etc nothing comes easy so to anyone getting little inclined towards any country I will highly recommend to have an intensive research on this as moving to any developed nations is not easy people have different mindset and perception you can decide what is best for you .?

I'm a proud Canadian who would NEVER move to the USA for a ton of reasons. I only wish our best neighbors---I still believe this---would get their act together. Unfortunately I think it may be way too late. The fact that a known scumbag like Donald Trump could still,I think,get back into the White House says it all. The warring political parties should be lining up to put him jail. Far too many shootings and violence down there. When I meet Americans up here,they are always nice folks,always respectful. Maybe they're relieved I'm not armed. I'm kidding. Still,all things considered,very proud and very lucky and very happy to be a Canadian.

The thing about the job health insurance that a lot of Americans don't really think of as a business case: If a person has their insurance tied to their job, they will almost never be able to move to another one if they develop a life-threatening condition. Even with diminished bars of entry due to pre-existing conditions, your health insurance can be denied if you transition to another company. If you are denied, your best healthcare options are then tied to your income, and that means you basically have to be unemployed and living on social entitlements. \n\nThe thing is, this locks you into your position, and you are literally at the mercy of the company which means you're only going to be doing the minimum amount of work necessary to not get fired. If you have a socialized/universal single-payer healthcare plan, your job is no longer a limiting factor, you can switch employers basically at-will. The boon for businesses is that people will be more able to move rather than have to get you to do a dance with your insurance company. \n\nThe other thing for me is that having been in the US, I felt less safe in blue states than I did in Canada, and I felt worse in red states. The USA is a beautiful country, but it's a STRANGE society. One thing I can say is the USA tends to get bright fast once they catch on to how big a problem actually is, so here's to hoping that happens soon because brother, you have a mess of problems on your plate. \n\nThis isn't the only thing, but FWIW, I have had multiple opportunities to move to the US for work, and I work in a field where I can command a very good salary, but I choose to not live there. I'd move to Belize, or a Nordic EU country instead.

1. While McDonald's was originally created in the US there is a 2nd version and its 100% Canadian. After the u.s. McDonald's began franchising one of the brothers became so disgusted with the lack of regulation in the US on what is considered 'food' he moved to Canada and relaunched the chain. While the restaurant named remains the same and a handful of the main burgers the two companies are completely separate and have nothing to do with one another.\n\n2. Gov work, nurses, doctors, teachers, etc have a regulated minimum wage of 7.25 are you ....... kidding me??? 3. The US has no paid maternity leave u have the baby take 2 weeks off unpaid and back work 4. Server's make 2.13 + tips an hour ...... 5. The federal and state government recommend homes in the city have sewage plumbing BUT it is not required. There are literally houses in the southern states with the toilets flushing right into the front or backyard. 6. Perfectly fine to pay a man more than a woman in the US because a woman isnt a man. 7. And if a woman literally becomes a man by changing 'her' name + physically in appearance via surgery/hormones/whatever she still won't get paid the same as a man because she still not viewed as a man: no gender rights. 8. Where's the healthcare when the US has the highest taxes in the world??? 9. Classist. 10. No regulated education. Literally there is no rules on teaching the students these days are learning absolutely nothing. There's no such thing as regulating education in the US anymore 11. The country is over 33 trillion dollars in debt..... It's never going to fix that.\n\nI could go on and on for another hundred reasons before I'd have to Google something else to add to the list but these are only a few of the reasons why any Canadian who knows anything about the US, would never willfully move south of the boarder. American people themselves, aside from a personality trait here or there are fine. Its the demon structure of the country that make America deplorable. Sorry.

Canadian here. I’ll never forget visiting Disneyworld and hearing the people sitting across from me complain they weren’t allowed to bring their guns into the park. They didn’t get why it was an issue. It was horrifying and mind blowing. It’s that part of America gun culture that makes me very sure I’d never move there. I know it’s not all Americans, but knowing an American family is out there annoyed they can’t bring weapons into a family theme park is enough.

I have lived in different parts of Canada my whole life, but always seem to end up in majority conservative areas. I do not consider myself a conservative. Even though I don't agree with everyone's politics, I can still live here feeling relatively safe and accepted.\nWhen things get a bit much and I feel like maybe home doesn't feel safe or match my values, I never look at the USA as my exit plan. I have considered Sweden, and Finland before anywhere else. I also wonder if it's just the sheer volume of people that Canadians aren't used to when they visit the states. Your population is massive compared to ours, and it's hard to imagine the quality of life that I have here being easy to emulate down there without drastic changes.\nThen there's my vacation and sick time at work. Maternity leaves etc... so many quality of life things to consider. I look at the housing prices and really wish I could get over the other things. But as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, I could never work in your fee for service word. I know what hospital CEOs are doing to your healthcare from the diagnostic side - the shortcuts that are being made to make more money - and I could never do that with my ethics.\nI hope Canada wasn't too rough on you - we can be pretty shitty some times lol... and not even be sorry about it.

Am shocked that you have come to terms with it or that you ignore what is happening in other parts of your country. Maybe acceptance is why it never gets better

Never in my life would I move to the US… not a chance. What would be the reason? To get shot? To go back 80 years as a woman… ? \nforget it… never ever..

Yes, American citizens need to be taken care of first before we let any more people into the country, but let's keep thinking about this... Why are so many people trying to escape Venezuela? Could it possibly be the cripplingly sanctions the US has imposed on Venezuela for decades? There is no better example of how sanctions don't work and only make the population of the country suffer and not the leaders. Why are people trying to leave Mexico, which is a country where guns are 100% illegal? If you guessed violence from the drug cartels being one of the main reasons, good job. Now, why do drug cartels in Mexico even exist? To supply the gigantic appetite that Americans have. Where are the cartels getting their guns from? Once again the answer is Mexico. If you are someone saying Mexico needs to fix itself, just remember that they have the one of the worst neighbors ever. We have no problem giving Israel $3 billion every year and sending our military all over the world to bring democracy to people who never wanted it, but our neighbors to the south? Fuck em. War on drugs? Lol. That's a war America doesn't really want to win.

Is Toronto the only city in Canada. Toronto is full beyond capacity. I have been waiting for a call for RGI for more than 13 years and never recieved even one call for a place. So many people are coming to Toronto fleeing whatever they are fleeing, getting housing, and help while i and my children continue to pay for it and live like we are in a third world country because we have to decide if we pay the rent or eat healthy. Dollarama is my frigging grocery store, all the while my taxes pay for people who never payed taxes here. Our country is so ridiculously broken.

My Forefathers left Ohio 5 generations back. I visited Detroit, California, New Mexico, Florida. I am wary of further travel there.I worked in Health care for 36 yrs and never presented a bill. In BC everyone gets basic healthcare without charge. As I am retired I purchase supplemental insurance for dental etc.

I have travelled to the USA for20 years.I have enjoyed so many cities. However, if I didn't have to travel to the USA ( I have family) I wouldn't. There are too many mass shootings, School shootings, too many guns. Watching women rights return to the 1800’s is horrifying. To me it appears that rights are being taken away. Your Supreme Court is corrupt. What is going on with their politics? It's getting very ugly. Finally, our healthcare system has issues, but if you get sick, it's here. I would never live in the USA.

I never want to move down in United States first of all they don't have free healthcare they don't have free medication while some medication and their food does not taste like ours I've tried their Pizza Hut that I found was totally disgusting they're McDonald's was totally different also lots of flies in this in the restaurant around where they make the hamburgers and that they're washing very filthy women's washroom overpopulated and you never know when you're walking on the street when you're going to get killed by a gun at least where I live it's a slower pace it's starting to become crazy with the homeless and people that like to make trouble but they're still not that much guns because we don't allow it it's more safe we can still walk on the streets without anything happening happening even at night where I live it's a slower pace the air quality is also better it's not muggy as much as the states a lot of places people here are more friendly but just like it here I was born here

I crossed the border into Buffalo ALOT growing up and I gotta say, you remind me of the proverbial frog in boiling water. Your country has changed, to the point where my family never bothered to get nexus passes or passports to cross over when those were requirements. My sister got hers to travel to Japan... still has not crossed over. The things we used to go to do there are still there but the whole vibe, experience and culture has shifted so much it feels like a totally different country from 30... even 15 years ago. Do I want to travels to the states? Sure but most of the people need to leave first.

Canada is opening doors to all these new immigrants but it's also kicking out own citizens, because of unable to find jobs that you like no matter that you are highly educated or afford the living expenses. If you are over 50 you will never get a professional job and if you are a recent graduate, even if you study and born in Canada, you can't get a job either because no experience. This is Ontario, this is our home country Canada.

I appreciate that you are open to hearing these comments- as hard as that might be. Canadians do love our US next door neighbours- most of the US is lovely, most people are good, yes good opportunities exist there. BUT, we have that here in Canada too. So the tipping points about female bodily autonomy, never really worrying about our children’s school safety, EVERYONE being able to get good healthcare (no insurance required), and the more inclusive attitude to people of different sexual orientation/cultures/race makes this country the better option, in my opinion.

My parents were snowbirds for decades. At the end of their stay, they owned a small place in Safford, AZ. I spent all my vacations wherever they were, Texas, other parts of Arizona. I loved exploring the US with them - Dodge City, KS, Tombstone, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Capital Reef, Gila Cliff Dwellings, to name just a few. Multiple National Parks over their 30 years of winter stays. \n\nThe US is beautiful and steeped in history. We met some really nice people, and even loved a few of them (but not in a weird way).\n\nMy parents sold their place just before Trump became president (on purpose), and none of us have been back since.\n\nDon’t get me wrong, we have our share of ignorant and uneducated people, but most of ours don’t have guns. \n\nAnyways, I digress. Never, not once did we ever consider becoming American Citizens. Especially since Trump (OMG).\n\nWe love our country, even though it’s not perfect. We love our health care, such as it is currently.\n\nIn memory of Gene of Tory, AZ, a family friend, who was like a brother to all of us who knew him, who died too young because he refused to give up his children’s small inheritance to your healthcare system. \n\nEven though there is darkness, there is still greatness in your country. Well I would never move out of Canada but can't wait for Justin Trudeau to get the boot. He is literally ruining the country day by day.

Not going to the Land'o'Guns. I live two miles from the border. Never been tempted to cross it.\n\nI also like not being afraid of the Police. I'm blond and white. If you're Native, you ought to be afraid of the police, at least in the boonies.\n\nAlso, elected Prosecutors, Judges, and Sheriffs mean that in a racist area, you get racist officials.

I like visiting the U.S. on occasion. There are some very nice state parks and natural wonders. I like that both our countries all drive on the same side of the road. I like that we all speak English. So it's easy to get around. People in the U.S. are generally very nice if you stay away from densely populated places. But playing roulette on the healthcare is already enough to dissuade me. Then there is the (lack of) gun control. I am adventurous. I do love to travel. But I never want to give up my glorious Canadian lifestyle. Even with its flaws, I am not convinced anywhere else is better.

I've traveled and worked in many parts of the USA. In most cases, I've found people to be more friendly, helpful and outgoing than Canadians because we tend to be more reserved.\n\nThe exceptions are when Americans feel afraid or threatened for some reason. Then things get really scary very quickly. The gun culture is one reason for this. At a coffee break in Houston my coworkers started talking about guns because one of them had been held up at gunpoint. His car was in the shop to repair a bullet hole in his front fender. This triggered talk about where people kept their guns at home, in their cars and on their persons. A small pile of 3 handguns ended up on the table while we talked, two of them from women's purses. All but one of the people had never used their guns except at a shooting range. The exception blew out a neighbor's over-loud outdoor speakers with a shotgun. He felt this was justified because he paid his shocked neighbor double the destroyed equipment's value in cash. Most of the Texans didn't agree with him but understood his rationale.\n\nI can handle a rifle and shotgun. Many Canadians hunt, but I can't think of a place in Canada where I could have had this conversation.
