Same thing happening in Italy .i was talking to my nephew in Rome, he works as a janitor at school, he said there were 20 East Indian pupils out of 30 in one class! Greetings.from Italy. I don't mean to offend anyone, I just want you to know it's going on here as well. I like to go for walks and I must say that I get upset because both Indians and Pakistanis think nothing of pooping and urinating on the sidewalks. So one likes to walk on the sidewalks to avoid the traffic but it becomes impossible and irritating when the mounds of poop and the stink prevent you from doing so. This behaviour besides being disgusting is disgracing their countries of origin. I have also wondered how they clean themselves after pooping as there are no water taps on the sidewalks. Well let's hope that they come to their senses.

Similar has happened to Surrey/North Delta British Columbia of the 400,000 residents living here,179,000 are from India. I remember years ago when Brampton was a small quaint town back in the 1970s this India didn't exist. Generally this happens when years ago real estate was cheap all the Indians moved in to the cheaper part of the community then slowly took over, and invaded the community. Is far far worse and much more invaded by people not wanting to truly integrate in Canadian society. Thank you for sharing! I had to leave Canada after a short stint due to personal reasons. I really enjoyed the work culture there and my salary was definitely way better than the one I used to make in Italy. Having an internationally recognised MSc, I felt valued for the first time ever and did not have any issues securing a job. However, the housing crisis was something I was not ready for. Never struggled so much to find a place to rent (and it was not even a big city). Grocery prices were also pretty scary. Canadian taxes were not a problem as Italy has a notoriously high taxation.

As a FRENCH individual, here is my perspective; we humans look for what is good for us!!! I am French (I consider myself very lucky as France is a very stable and prosperous economy) but many French also look for better opportunities abroad, namely in Switzerland (higher salary and better work packages but that influx created a xenophobia against French living in Swiss) and the US (tech jobs mainly, which are better paid than in France)!!! We ALL do it!!! Many white South African women also do everything to marry British, Germans, Canadians on purpose (the media never mentions that and we know why) so that they can escape the extreme environment in South Africa!!!! It is just that the media tends to focus on black and brown people as it sells better!!! Ohhh and did you forget those many North Americans who flock to Mexico, and South America to run away from the horrendous cost of living!!!! Same for those many Canadians (a common trend those last years) who start to flock into the US to run away from higher living costs in Canada and for higher paid jobs in the US!!!! Okay may be some lesser developed countries do it but let’s realize that WE Europeans also move and emigrate when things turn “grill our ar**s” where we live!!!! Ohhh and have we forgotten already those Italians who moved to France in 1900s to escape misery and hunger in Italy!!!! Ohhh …. we already forgot!!!! And what about the Ukrainians, many of whom come to Canada now and take jobs and reap benefits from the local? Those from India are like any other immigrants. They're trying to find their way in a new society with different customs and rules. My parents came here in the 50’s from Italy and were discriminated against in the same ways. As first-generation Canadians, my brother and I were discriminated against because of our heritage in school and then in our chosen careers.\n\nIn general, Indians are hard-working, well-educated, English-speaking and entrepreneurial. In general Indians benefit Canadian society.\n\nI became friends and eventually best friends with my neighbour from Punjab. He came here with nothing and became an educator for children with special needs. He had two master's degrees. One from McGill University and one from Cambridge. He was involved in our community at many levels. We spent most evenings discussing life, and society issues and even worked together on a campaign of one of our local councillors and won. He had a positive impact on all who knew him. Unfortunately, he passed in 2012. RIP Rupinder Jeji. You are dearly missed.

Wish you all the best. I hope you make the right choice. I am Argentinian and for business reasons my employer moved me around to US, México., Sweden, Italy and Germany. Now I retired in Portugal. Non of the countries I leaved in I would go back. The same as Canada thinks are changing continuously and not for good. Anyway thanks for sharing.

I personally used to love indians. Especially punjabis. The ones who immigrated here in the 80s and 90s were quiet, dignified and productive.\n\nThey were family oriented and blended into canadian society seamlessly.\n\n\nThis is what indians need to do in order to regain respect again.\n\n1. Call out other indians who do not assimilate into canadian culture. And stop saying youre indian. My parents both immigrated from italy, and they never call themselves italian.....just canadian.\n\n2. Speak english a little better, and learn proper manners and customer service. The reason you came to Canadabwas because you saw it as a paradise where you could flourish. Learn the culture. Embrace wherenyou are.\n\n3. Follow the law. Pay your taxes, and find some NON indian friends who can help you assimilate easier.\n\n\n\n\nCanadians are very kind caring people overall. I came to Germany 7 years ago , speak German fluently and am on the verge of getting the citizenship but I will leave the country soon , why?\n1- extremely ineffective bureaucracy\n2-high taxes ( like you are being punished for not having a kid and earning more money, how dare you?)\n3- low acceptance for innovation and technology ( I swear I had to use and am still using a Fax Machine!! at work, I thought Fax was something that disappeared when I was a kid but it apparently just moved to Germany )\n4- bad weather\n5- even with a C2 Certificate, Germans are not the most friendliest people around ( like some other central and north european countries ) , you immediately feel the difference in attitude when you go to Spain, Italy or more friendly countries\n6- hypocrisy when it comes to immigration policies... like they want the most skilled workers but they dont want to pay them a good salary and even from that salary half is gone without you seeing it. and yet they still seem to wonder where the problem is.... my friend, Money, make them earn more at the end of the month(AFTER tax) and they will stay, yet they do every other measure apart from this :)))

The racism against Germans that is so openly expressed in the comments here is unbearable. Yes, there are some bad people in Germany (basically in any country on this planet, unfortunately) who are themselves racist or discriminatory. But that is by no means the majority of Germans. I have lived here for decades and have met the most warm-hearted people. From the comments I rather gather that many who come to Germany simply extremely overestimate the demands they can (and may) make of Germany (or pretty much any other immigration-friendly country). If you come to Germany it is obvious that you have to learn German (or the local language). That is the case everywhere, including France, Italy and Korea - you name it. And if you can't do that straight away that's okay too, most Germans speak English and are very forgiving when it comes to language learners. Nobody shouts at you for not knowing German. Furthermore, Germans are very direct and don't care much about artificial and feigned friendliness. What you see is what you get. And I think that's honest and quite refreshing. \n\nThe thing is, YOU have to approach Germans and can't just expect them to roll out the red carpet for you just because you think they are in need of your workforce. The simple truth is: the standard of living in Germany is very high. The culture is diverse, and anyone who doesn't recognize this should broaden their horizons. Cities like Munich, Berlin, Stuttgart and Hamburg are beautiful, extremely multicultural and anyone who describes them as 'dull' will probably not feel at home in any city on this planet. The people are also nicer than many non-germans claim - that's obvious, because if that weren't the case, Germany wouldn't be the most popular country to immigrate within Europe amongst immigrants. Of course there are problems on the German side too. Bureaucracy, language barriers and discrimination. But they definitely don't deserve the unreasonable racism they face here in the comments. You can't criticize Germans for their alleged discriminatory behavior by unreasonably attacking and generalizing Germans themselves. Anyone who approaches Germans with prejudice and racism should not be surprised if they do not receive a friendly welcome there...
