I actually worked at Tim Hortons(I'm a white guy), and there were literally so many Indians that they'd order each other around in Hindi. They'd only speak English to me and the customers. I had a shift coordinator in fact who would reflexively give me orders in Hindi, and would get a little ticked off and repeat it in Hindi, and then when it clicked that I'm the only non-Hindi speaker there, he'd give 1 word orders like "Garbage" or "Sinks". The owner of the Tim Hortons also said that if I was a little slow or needed extra training, they wouldn't fire me because they don't like to keep rotating workers around, and instead would rather just retrain them. I was a tad bit slow(only because I was precise and not violating health and safety standards), and they fired me in like 10 seconds. Like my second monthly review, I was fired. I have a feeling it largely had to do with the fact that I was not Indian and didn't speak Hindi, so therefore the shift coordinators had less tolerance for me.

I went through a drive thru in Weyburn Saskatchewan and almost shit my pants when I seen (1) white guy working there, 99% Indian in the smack dab middle of the country, and it’s like this everywhere. Have heard half a dozen times from separate ppl that they were asked if they spoke Hindi or Punjabi to work at Tim Hortons because “all the staff spoke it” they take our jobs because they accept lower wages. I’m just fatigued, it just sucks because I know the vast majority of Indians before 2020 were actually nice and adaptable decently well. Now when you go out to eat or buy groceries you don’t even get a “have a nice day” which is a Canadian custom IMO. Most of the time besides the transaction details, they will not speak to you.

Thats fucking sad to see, I'm french, when I was a kid and used to picture Canada, I used to think about white guy speaking french with a weird quebec accent, great and spotless cities, Top 1 HDI, the good version of America. even in the little town where i live in western canada there is a community collage and a lot of punjabi's that have straight up told me that they are here for school but only go to 1 class once maybe 2 times a week for just over an hour and the rest of the time they are here working on student visa's where the government is paying half the wage prompting bigger business to highering these exchange student instead of local people

India is multi-cultural, Punjab is only 1 part of India and their culture is different from the other Indian states represented in India. The behavior of Punjabi immigrants is not reflective of other Indian cultures in India. For whatever reason there seems to more Punjabi migrants in Canada than from any other state in India. Its the job of Canada to enforce assimilation and immigration rules, they deliberately don't. Littering and defecating in public spaces is illegal in Canada but the Canadian government refuses to enforce those rules.

Tbh its alot more saturated than you would think, I live in B.C and do alot of uber deliveries, 2400 alone last year. Id say 70% of the people in houses, and some really nice houses are Indian. Also most fast food restaurants are run by indian managers and staff, I was in a KFC the other day that had 1 younger white male at the counter, and 5 punjab behind the counter. The workers were all yelling at eachother about orders in their language and the white guy looked so confused. English is the first language in Canada so it should be learned especially when it comes to a business context, does our government care tho? Nope.

a few years back Brampton had a mayoral election and one of the people running was this guy John Sprovieri and he received and email complaining that a white man should not even be running because white people no longer have any business planning Bramptons future. He replied saying that people of all backgrounds want to come because of what white people built" he was sanctioned by the government for that comment and he was touted as a racist from then on. No comment was made about the indian woman who said white people shouldn't be allowed in the government in a Canadian city anymore. Last time I was in Brampton I was told to go back to my own country because I asked a group of indians who were playing indian music from concert volume speakers in a residential area at 1 am to turn it off. One thing i can and do respect about indians is that they will never be pushy with their religions. Sure you'll find some "bad apples" but rare. Then there are other countries, that are much more pushy with their religions. I have no respect for that. So there might be a lot of them, but they don't ruin it as per say. As long as they don't shit on the beach and use garbage cans and not sidewalks. I won't go to india an impose my belief or way of living. And i don't think they do that in canada either.
