I’m from Mexico and I lived in Canada for 5 years back in 2009. Back then, Canada was the country where everyone wanted to migrate to. It was a dream. I was so fortunate to have been able to secure a job in a country that I had always dreamed of. I left bc I married my husband and moved to Louisiana. Now, I have a 3 bedroom house, a 2025 new car, three children and a well paying job. I’m not a millionaire, but I have a confortable life. My next door neighbors, moved from Calgary to Louisiana (where I live). This family, has a confortable life as well. I’m so sorry that all this happening to such a beautiful country. Canadians are one of the most welcoming people I have met.

Small family living in a huge mansion.\nThe supply chains of today are expensive to run when the population is, scattered.\nExpansive food, telecommunications, services, and everything. They work for next to nothing they live in crowded quarters so they can accept very low pay and employers LOVE THEM as slaves and the average citizen can go whistle and pound sand, they will hire 5 indians over 1 white citizen with fairness expectations in pay and conditions. Let's get real here, these international students do not contribute significantly at all to Canada's economy. They are a drain on food banks that locals need for survival. They are a drain on our economy because 90% of them are sending most of their paycheques back to family in India. They are taking jobs away from young Canadians trying to enter the job market while Canada's unemployment rate is high right across the country. The schools mostly are fraudulent diploma mills that are not providing any real world job skills that are useful to Canada or Canadians and 90% of Indian international students who enroll in these colleges do not even attend. They come only to work for dollars and send money back to India. Meanwhile the cost of living is extremely high due to the housing shortage caused by excessive Indian International students. It should be very clear now, Canada and Canadians want all these Indians to leave Canada and return to India as stated in the temporary resident visa. If not they will be cut off and deported also incurring a 5 to 10 year ban from Canada.

Thanks to Democrats that illegal immigrants are entering USA and hopefully the Democrats open their houses to 5 strangers live in it.

Unfortunately, I know several skilled workers with MScs and PhDs in STEM fields (e.g., Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, or Computer Science) who came to Canada not only to pursue their degrees but also to contribute to the country’s scientific and economic development. Many of these individuals, including myself, end up leaving. \n \nSome leave because of systemic issues in the PR system, which often prioritizes candidates with limited skills or questionable credentials over highly qualified individuals who have lived, studied, and worked in Canada for 5+ years. Others leave due to the high cost of living, challenges in accessing healthcare, or instability in the job market. \n \nThroughout my time in Canada, I’ve met genuinely kind and hardworking Canadians who are understandably frustrated with the current state of affairs. The policies implemented by this government have created significant challenges that may take years to resolve. Unfortunately, this risks leaving Canada with a workforce ill-equipped to meet future demands, while losing both talented Canadians and highly skilled immigrants who could have been integral to the country’s progress.

I left Canada after 20 years of living there. Went to Russia. Had about $80k of debt. 5 years later I bought penthause in Spain and 150 m2 flat in Moscow. Cannot be any happier

B.C. Should be number 1. It’s the most beautiful but I guess paying millions of dollars for a house kinda sucks compared to $300-$400K in most other provinces. All of my ancestors lived in the prairies and got the heck out of there. All of my grandparents moved out to BC and nobody would dream about Leaving. Only 1 in 5? Canadians wish it was 4 in 5 leaving. The flood of immigration into Canada over the past 3 years is a nightmare for Canadians. It has resulted in disastrous housing shortage and higher cost of living, not to mention increases in ethnic & religious conflicts, extortion rackets and organized crime gangs that originated from abroad. Deport them. STOP all immigration NOW, and resume only when Canada has caught up with housing and access to health care, and a solid vetting system for immigration applicants.

Pews number is full of crap, I live in the center of the country and my small rural walmart alone is over run with foreigners that were not there a year or two ago. They speak zero English and are all under 5'6'' so its obvious where in the world they come from.

I've been replaced 4 times by foreigners. I worked at Amazon and the entire huge warehouse of hundreds of people was only East Indians with only me and 3 other white people. I worked at Ballard and the entire production floor could not speak English at a elementary school level and was replaced by a guy from Iran who had never been to Canada and was in the country for 1 month. All the shift mangers were from Iran and my section was only Iranians, East Indians and Chinese. I was the top production worker by far doing the work of 4 other workers proven by the actual numbers in an attempt to keep my job but still got removed of course to make way for more Iranians because it was obviously a way to bring their people here. Zero locals were in the entire production floor. I can not have the dignity to own my own home and never will be able to even though I grew up here went to collage and university and worked hard. Rent is beyond insane and they raise it the maximum legal amount every year which is huge. All my life I had to bow down to foreigners. The locals have lost their homes and can not buy another house or could never buy one and never will be able to. All are slaves to foreigners who think they are superior and treat them like garbage. The foreigners get help from the government somehow and get loans they never should be able to get because they have crooked contacts in the Chinese owned financial institutions. They then build 5 to 10 unbelievably horrible illegal suites and that is where most of the locals now have to live in. The neighbourhoods went from a very low population of Chinese and East Indians to insanely high levels such as 98 percent. There is no sense in complaining to any government body because the Chinese and East Indians have infiltrated those key positions and always side with their own kind. The legacy news/media is fully aware but are owned by foreigners and never will talk about these issues. Canada has for sure been invaded and taken over and is lost. No one is bringing it to light and worst is no one is trying to fight it. Any attempts you are labeled as a horrible racist.

All the government has to do is give these pricks a 3 months grace period after which anyone overstays gets added to a Black list which means no permanent residency even if they spend the rest of their lives here and any child born to these pricks does not qualify for automatic citizenship plus fines for every day of overstaying with no maximum limit and denial of acceptance even if they leave at a later time and apply from overseas including family reunions. Conservatives will assemble a legal committee to revoke the status of anyone who switched from visitor, fake student etc... to permanent resident and order them deported. Trump is not joking and he will kick out millions in just 1 year because he has robust means and eager sheriffs to round them like chicken and ship them out.

As American citizen I move to Thailand 5 years ago, I legally came into this country, I have to report every 3 months to immigration, I have to show document that I have proof of income, I have to have sufficient income to live here, if not they would kick me out! There's no handouts here in Thailand, there's no crime, no racial tension! why a AMERICA can't do the same?

My experience has been different. Came at age 48 with family mostly for children future. Initial struggle followed by more than 20 years full time work in a company owned by Canadian but most of us working immigrants from different countries. Had a wonderful experience working as a team. Company grew from 5 including owner to about 30 when I retired. Most of of my contribution was from skills I obtained on the job. The flexibility I got was help to spouse and children. The three of them achieved good outcomes. Taxes are high. I never worried about that as children had professional education with no financial help. Only my steady basic facilities provided as I had steady though lower income than what I had back home in relative terms. What we get back from taxes we pay in health civic facilities education for children is great return of taxes paid. What I got was quality living. No luxuries. My purpose of coming here more than fulfilled. Happy family. Grand children now enjoying higher quality of life than what I had or my own children had. I do notice recent trends of immigrants expectations not very encouraging. I have enjoyed the multicultural atmosphere friendship and regard for each other. My colleagues and I have been of great asset to the company we worked in.

I think the vast majority of those Reddit posts and are overrating the difference. \n\nNow, admittedly, I am Canadian and have lived here my whole life. I’ve only been to the states a handful of times and not recently (last time was like 5 years ago). But nonetheless, I think Canada and America are about as similar of countries as you can get. I think the bigger difference is going to be the different regions of each country. Like, Seattle is going to be more like Vancouver than Miami. Also, you mentioned you live in a small town/city, I imagine if you moved to rural Canada you’d notice little difference. Just my $0.02 though

Lol. Toronto is one of the best cities in North America. Top 5-7 in NA. Probably top 15-20 in world. A wealthy Cosmopolitan metropolis with a vibrant downtown, safe, upscale & gritty with so much to do & best residential places to live (if you can afford it) Only a few cities in world top Toronto. So ignore this person’s motivations. \nJust wrong in so many ways.

In Australia. Australia is not too far behind. Housing crisis.. extremely expensive. In Sydney we can’t afford even a studio. 5 ppl Sharing a house. Pay for every food delivery anywhere between 2 to 5 AUD. Any dish you order is minimum 18 AUD so a dinner for 2 is at least 40 AUD even at places like McDonald’s. Groceries are monopolised and they charge very high.. even 3 days of groceries will cost you between 50 to 80. And forget healthcare. It’s so expensive that we pray we don’t fall sick. The doctors too don’t give you real advise. Just prescribe tests blindly without analysing ur symptoms. In India if you find a good doctor, they will save u from getting too many tests. Ppl are depressed and are suffering from many mental illnesses. No sense of community. The only reason why we are here is to save up as much as we can. We are struggling, living in shared apartments in a small room.. we came here with a job without any money spent from our end and the only Reason it works is cz we are saving up for India and when we send money to family it’s cheaper due to currency exchange. We cannot afford the same lifestyle as India with our whole family here.

In Canada, there is not enough housing and jobs are scarce, especially for anyone at the entry level or basic wage. We've been absolutely swamped. This is not the fault of the immigrants or the students, it's the fault of our extremely stupid and short sighted government. Most of those immigrants I encounter are good people, polite and considerate. But some, well I understand where the complaints about rude and inconsiderate behaviour come from, because it only takes a few bad experiences to get people angry. I've experienced it myself, but most of it (from my experience) seems to be from students who are very loud and impolite on public transit. The housing situation here is INSANE, prices are sky high and very little to choose from. A lot of seniors now can only afford to rent a room (after having worked all their lives and very little to show for it), and prices are up about 50% from only 5 years ago. The government says inflation is a fraction of what it is in real life, and living expenses have exploded. As I understand it, some people made a lot of money offering services to bring students and low wage workers in, with no consideration to the damage they were doing to all of us who were born and raised here - they wanted to make their million dollars. Another problem is that once someone arrives here, what they find is NOT what they were led to believe. What students and immigrants are told they need to live here is an absolute lie, living here in Canada has become very expensive. Many workers are severely under paid, and never even see the legal minimum wage, and the problem with that is, almost no Canadian will be hired on to those jobs - the reasons are that imported foreign workers will work below minimum wage because they are trapped here, and the Canadians already know that they will only struggle if they take jobs that pay so poorly. So yes, a lot of Canadians are VERY angry, and you really can't blame them. Once again, the Canadian government is responsible for much of this, and crooked employers who are willing to take advantage of low wage labour. It's an absolute mess.

There is a solution to that housing crisis, Get a Van live in it, save for a deposit then buy a unit or house or buy a house rent it out for 5 years It's even easier if you are living with your parents save for a house deposit rent it out buy another one and move in in one of them.

This is me a decade ago moving from Phils to Canada. I never felt at home in the country of my birth — I hated the traffic and the monsoon rains (it can rain for months). I know a lot of nationalities rave about our tropical country & beautiful beaches but it also has become unaffordable for us the citizens. We became Canadians 5 yrs ago & have grown from 4 to 6 (2 Canada born kids) & now have 2 properties. It has worked for us but it was also not easy uprooting our lives & starting over. I don’t think we will ever find our home anywhere. Previously my husband and I also lived in the US (before kids). It is truly a privilege to be here but I always feel I am sojourner, always traveling & always searching. I hope you find your peace wherever life takes you. I left in 2012, bought a home in the heart of Istanbul Turkey for just $35,000, and now I'm living rent free, with my total basic cost of living (food, metro, internet, gas, electricity) just $280 a month, and I'm not even compromising on anything. I work online and spend only %5 of what I make on living expenses, but in Canada, I would be in the minus on the same salary.\n\nThe amount of stress when you no longer ever have to pay a rent again was all worth moving out, not to mention the depressing Canadian weather.

If those living in poverty and poor countries especially south america, woumd stop having aommany children it woukd lessen the burden. They wanna have one person working, be stay at home wife who sells treats on the side while having 3+ kids. They do same even once in america its a reoetitive cycle. YGood day. For from context I'll reveal a little about me. I am around 27% Indian, 34% northern African people which is around 61% combined. My other ancestry includes Wales, Sweden, Norway Scottish and Irish, Hebrew/ jew as in from 12 tribes of Israel, However, the world calls me black Jamaican born. I live in small town with population under 41,000 people in northern Ontario Canada for past 21 years. I remember when I came here with company contracted to build and say very few black people mostly French African and some mixed black with some Chinese probably total under 20 people other than white or indigenous peoples. Over the years was steady increase of black, Chinese, Philippino, and my Indian doctor and his family to maybe total around 50 none white none indigenous peoples. Just before pandemic we had a large number of Indian students which was awesome to see considering my heritage as my grandmother on dad side was Indian. But a year before pandemic we noticed many started working in convenient stores and fast food places like most high school students do to save for college/university which was becoming a problem for Canadian students as some employers got incentives or cheaper labour to maximize profits. As pandemic rolled in so it seems more Indian students from other regions in Canada. So, Canada, Ontario, and small town I reside already had huge housing problems as some homes we even to be condemned and indigenous homeless from north increased crime rates and now we had students living beyond building code occupancy with shared living causing rentals to shoot up in prices as landlords became greedy and selfish. This small town of under 41,000 is by some estimates over 55,000 by increasing Indian students who for past 5 years fighting to get permanent residents even though they came as students which proves the goal was always invasion and coming as students was the ticket. If you and rest of new immigrants don't see the problem yet, I'll continue. 95% of taxis have Indian drivers, 98% food and other delivery Indian, 90%+ convenience and groceries, clothing and all stores 90%+ , vehicles on roads 70% Indian, my son barely got into college with 90%+ Indian population in college and his class is 2 white students, himself only mixed , and 2 Africans and 22 Indian students who cheats on a regular basis but professor afraid to confront as they are quick to call racism. But even bigger for me is these Indian students/new immigrants have no respect for the history of Canada and USA not knowing how indigenous peoples were raped tortured and murdered to take over this country and then enslaved African people to build this country while they raped tortured treat less than animals and still suffering with fighting for equal rights for over 400yrs while still being racially profiled and beaten and murdered by police officers because of this colonizers system. Now you come here and benefits from black and indigenous peoples struggles and claiming rights when you have not been fighting the battles with us or for us. Also, the criminal aspects of your community is not being taked about as well which includes extortion to businesses owned by Indians, car thefts, drug trafficking, human trafficking and other criminal activities. There's so much more than just saying you feel unloved by the people you're taking things from for their children and grandchildren and generations without showing any respect as that is defined as selfish. You remind me of my beautiful daughter, who loves Toronto but will no longer live there. She got a nice apartment in Hamilton and works online for a company based in Toronto. I love Toronto too, but give me $5 million and maybe I will consider moving there. For now, I am happy to live in Osaka, Japan.

I lived in Canada when I was 5 years old. I don't remember much from when I was 5 years old but I remember the feeling of home Canada gave me. I was happiest in Canada and my family felt safe and grateful to be there. I left Canada in only a year though cause we went there to study English, and I was very sad because Canada was the best place ever for me. I've been to several countries but Canada always had me in love. I was planning on going back for college and living there, but when I realized the state Canada is now, I was heartbroken because it looked nothing like the amazing place I had lived in years back. I'm still very sad about this and I pray the Canada I used to know will be back one day so that I can return to the place that was the closest thing I've ever felt like home.

I'm completing my college degree in engineering and will start doing my last semester here in Germany. Looking from the outside I was amused by the German excellence, its safety and opportunities it seemed to have. In my 4 months stay learning Germany 5 years ago it also seamed like a good choice. \n\nBut now looking at the comment section and my A2 german, this dream of trying to live here feels more like a temporary 6 months stay than an opportunity for a new life.

Every time I go two a job agency that our owned buy indians people they always say we will call you if a job will come up and that happens two me every time I am so feed up of this bull shit my friend. I have been out of work for 5 years and still can't find a job because the imagrants our taking our jobs from the white populations. Every where you go like subway Tim Hortons Wallmart and many other stores our getting jobs over the white population. When is this madness going two stop? I am getting pissed off all the time. Guys just become citizen of European Union nation. It's no secret some international students turn to prostitution, sell drugs and go to food banks in order to survive. Don't come to Canada assuming study permits automatically means you will get Canadian citizenship.
