WOW! Sorry Cash but American are VERY undereducated about Canada. This has been going on for years on the boarder. It just up - ticked in the last couple. One of the problems here is we have ZERO vacancy rates , which makes it worse ...we have nowhere to put them, Then there's our foreign student problem which is very complicated and involve CON MEN in India , who have contacts/ family here and work the system. Up to and including helping them get drivers permits...illegally. There's all sorts of loop holes , how we found out about the drivers permits, why traffic accidents became more frequent of course. Then there's the fake colleges they set up and yeah the student gets a minimum wage job and lives in a house stacked with ppl in the same boat as them. Then find out they being rooked and stay with no education or if they do get a legit school they can't stay here and become a citizen because they can't find work in the higher professions ( doctor ) because the system is screwed then they move back home with a good education and leave us with gaps in our medical system. It's complicated and won't be solved anytime soon on either side.

Scam colleges and fake international students

Some of the data shared is incorrect. For example you dont need 190k salary for mortgage. Even someone with an average income of 60k can own a home. Housing crisis is in major cities like Toronto, Vancouver the same like we see super expensive housing in Mumbai for example. \n\nPregnant lady does not have to wait for 30 weeks. That is completely incorrect. \n\nThe drug problem and the images that you share is from Vancouver which you mentioned already but that is not the case you see in Ontario, Alberta or any other province. Its like how Punjab has drug problem but it doesnt mean that Gujarat is the same when it comes to drugs. \n\nThe protests currently happening around deportation is also due to the fact that so many students from India were scammed by an Indian agent who sent them to Canada on fake admission letters. Those students were not enrolled in any colleges and came to Canada on fake documents. \n\nI agree that Canada is very difficult for immigrants to come and build at this point. This wasnt the case 10 years back. But this is true to only densely populated cities. Everyone wants to go to Toronto and Vancouver so it has made the situation tough in those cities. But there are other provinces and cities that are still easy to settle down and build your life. \n\nCanadian locals being not immigrant friendly is not whole truth. few points are absolutely wrong-\nCanada provides one time post graduation work permit(PGWP) only once after completion of study..They never promised to any international students to give PR or Citizenship but Canada gives you time to establish your comprehensive ranking score in order to get the permanent residency but these students who are protesting could not fit in that criteria, Thats why they are looking for the extension in their work permits which makes no sense actually.A fun fact a lot students can't talk in English here bcuz they hardly study or learn some skill. Your language proficiency is one of the main criteria to get jobs and later to get your PR here.\nCanada didnt promise that. Canada has always been a peaceful, prosperous, progressive and a good governance oriented nation. In the recent decade, too much of woke, radical left wing ideology has penetrated into policy and public institutions that have led to Canada’s current day crisis. \n\n2. This country has always welcomed talented immigrants who are willing to integrate with the Canadian society, embrace its values, traditions and culture. However, in the last 10 years, too many refugees and reckless mass immigration has put an incredible pressure on the economy, infrastructure and social cohesion. \n\n3. The political leadership has allowed reckless mass immigration without caring to boost the economy/infrastructure to handle the volume and hence the sorry state of affairs. \n\n4. Too many immigration consultants of Indian origin engage in outright VISA frauds (yes, this is unfortunately true) leading to ppl coming in as a tourist and then seeking asylum or converting their visa into a student visa (55 year olds from Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat coming here as students).\n\n5. Unlike the past, the recent batch of immigrants in the last 3 years or so, make no effort at all to integrate into Canadian society and abuse the system, create law and order problem, drive recklessly, talk loudly in public spaces, litter everywhere, cross railway tracks like they do in India, steal liquor from stores, shamelessly collect food from food banks (as a way to save on groceries) that are meant for the elderly, disabled or those that are in utter poverty. It wasn’t like this ever before. In cities like Mississauga, Brampton and Surrey, the Khalistan movement + gangs involved in theft, drugs and human trafficking are from Punjab/Haryana and they have mushroomed here like crazy. Colleges used these students as mules. Since last few years now they have been diploma printing machines printing diplomas for students who can not even speak proper English. Similarly these students need to understand that their parents taking loans to send them here does not guarantee them a path to PR. They are here to STUDY not WORK. I am not sure how they are given admissions into colleges when a large number of them cannot even speak in english or understand what is being taught in class. Are they faking IELTS tests as well? Colleges introduced fake or low quality courses with no future and immigration office kept on accepting the visas. \nIf only they were vigilant enough to see what the courses were about. I was told that in many courses, students are just studying online and working for full time. Part was legal work and part was on cash. \nY was CRA not active about the cash activities going on around canada ? \nAnd now govr has again introduced this permanent visa on arrival for caregivers. Does govt think people are going to continue working in the caregiver field after getting there PR. As a Canadian citizen, I see that there are 3 major issues at play in this problem - \n\n1) Canadian colleges are starved off funds and do not have a sufficient, stable source of revenue. Hence they seek to attract international students who pay (at least) 4X the fee a Canadian citizen would pay. According to mainstream media such as The Globe and Mail, National Post and others, International students contribute some where between $15 to $18 billion per year in revenue to Canada. This is huge!\n\nSince this is a lucrative revenue stream for them, they have gone overboard and are providing strong financial incentives to education / immigration consultants to bring more international students here. Consequently, many existing as well as new colleges are encashing on this trend and diploma mills have mushroomed in Canada lately. This is ABSOLUTELY Canada’s fault and the accountability of fixing this lies with Canada alone.\n\n2. International students who come here often end up taking humongous debt or selling off their homes/ancestral property to be able to afford their education and hence they feel cheated when the dream they were sold doesn’t match the reality. \n\nHaving said that, International students do need to understand that they are here or a temporary visa and DO NOT get to dictate terms to Canada. It is Canada’s sole prerogative to extend their work visa or not, depending upon Canadians requirements.\n\n3. The Trudeau Liberal government benefits by giving these students extended work permits and a pathway to citizenship as it translates into votes for them. However this is an atrocious approach to winning elections and puts unnecessary pressure on the system. \n\nCanada needs to streamline this whole student visa process and take stringent action against these fake diploma mills, education and immigration consultants luring foreign students. It damages Canada’s reputation.\n\nLastly, extend the work permits of only those students that meet Canada’s labour standards and requirements and send everyone else back home.

Most of the punjabis go to sham colleges , where they go for 1 day and enroll , after that they don't go for 2 years and get sham graduate certificates. Then they pay $20 Thousand to lawyers who apply for workpermit and the lawyers even help them with the fraud and after that they apply for Permanent Resident while giving fake work experience where the lawyer helps them . Meanwhile they are working in factories for CASH. (Told to me by a Punjabi guy Sukwinder )

As an immigrant and now a proud Canadian citizen I firmly believe that Canadians comes first. Full stop. This whole issue falls not just on these students but also on the feds who abused the international education route to bring in more people and make it lenient so they get more votes and keep winning elections but it backfired. This happened in the UK about 10 years ago. All these fake immigration consultancies and mediocre colleges should be shut down so these folks don't throw all their money into this hoping to get a PR. Most of these students can't even form a sentence in English. Yet somehow they get here. We have a massive hole in our immigration system. I hope this changes if and when Pierre takes over.

Canada messed up the system for cheap labor and ideology.\nThese fake colleges shouldn't have been permitted in the first place.\nVisa interviews from the fake applicants should have been declined.\nThis has hurt India also, it drains India's foreign currency and earnings, it is flowing out to the owners of the fake colleges when the money could have been in the bank accounts and lent to businesses and individuals or invested in stock, bond, commodity, real estate etc.\nThese people are from almost exclusively from two states in India, Punjab and Haryana.\nTheir sole aim is to emigrate from India.

I came to Canada in 2019 to study Master's at a highly-ranked Canadian University. I thought I'll have good education, and if I get a good job in my industry in Canada, I'll be easily able to apply for PR. Well, I completed my degree, I got a job, gained experience, but now the Express Entry system is so messed up that I cannot score that high!\n\nYes, I blame those shady colleges who offered admission to fake students, I blame those students who did not come to study but to apply for asylum. Because of them, everything is messed up. I agree that not all international students are entitled to get PR. But, those who are skilled should get a fair chance, like before. Not everyone comes here to make coffee at Tims.\n\nI saw my friend who could barely talk in English getting PR before me through the TR to PR pathway in 2021. I AGREE 1000,00,000 %, I SAW SO MANY STUDENTS ARE COMING FROM INDIA UNDER STUDENTS VISA, BUT THEY NEVER ATTEND SCHOOL AND WORKING FULL TIME AND PAYING THE FEE. WHILE THEY ARE WORKING FULL TIME AND NOT ATTENDING THE COLLEGE, EVENTUALLY THEY RECEIVED FAKE DIPLOMA FROM THE COLLEGES. I THINK THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD GO AFTER THESE COLLEGES WITH WEIRED NAMES, YOU CAN FIND ALL THESE COLLEGES ALL OVER MISSISSAUGA AND BRAMPTON. THIS COUNTRY BEING DESTROYED BY TRUDEAU. All of this could be resolved easily by inspecting the fake colleges and forcing colleges to lower the fee. I'm sure Canada is not planning on doing it.

The numbers currently being allowed in are ridiculous, especially students arriving to attend fake for profit colleges. The government needs to substantially roll back immigration numbers until the housing and affordability crisis is addressed.

A country, where health care and education are free, in not bad at all. The minimum wage may be low, but you won't have headache for receiving care you desercve when you fall sick. Unlike other fake big country Canada doesn't expose people to this challenge. Neither your kids won't have a mortgage of education on their shoulder after finishing college, which can skrew them up and jeopardize their credit in not finding a job to repay their loans; this is one of the factors that prevent an inividual from social mobility. Well, if u don't get into an actual university, \nUofT, Waterloo, McMaster etc...\nDont go to international private college.. its a scam. Ive seen Canadians (non first gen immigrants) go to these fake schools and not get anything valuable. There's so many fake schools. CANADA HAS FAKE SCHOOLS period. Thank you ladies for those comments, to someone who is readying this today, I am an immigrant and I have lived in three continents, EU, MIddle East, USA and Canada, \n\nCanada is the best, just be smart with your financial decisions, and dont live in Van or GTA, Edmonton and Calgary for the win, yes weather sucks for 5 months but it does everywhere. \n\nUAE is great for making money, but its all fake and holo, USA is actually pretty unsafe and I felt it before I decided to move. and EU has basically the same tax situation. Portugal is really nice, but most immigrants are either french/english speaking so portugal is never an option, the adoption is too much. \n\nAlso a lot of it depends on your profession, I am an IT specialist and jobs are a plenty at pretty good rates, and if you are smart, there are several ways of shielding yourself from tax, \n\ndont want to brag but us brown (south asians) always break this code, tax no tax a brown guy will have all of his ducks be done with college, with a house mini van and picket fense, all with no debt and hard work, i cant understand how others cant do it (african brothers not included, coz they follow the same template as we do)\n\n cheers my hustlers
