Had someone the other day tell me “we need not block anyone there is tons of land here. “\nPeople have not ever taken basic economics nor do they understand how a country runs. Why doesn't ICE just assign someone to watch over all the buses who come to NYC and any buses that come from anywhere within a 2 to 4 hour walk of the border should get re-routed to an inspection facility where everyone on board has their ID /citizenship checked.\nAlso, it might be a good idea to install a border wall in the more isolated areas and clear the land back 50 feet or more on each side of the wall to improve visibility for helicopters/drones. I think many Canadians would support the building of a border wall between USA/Canada in the more remote/isolated areas, and Canadians would probably be willing to help in the construction of it.

I live in the area where they go threw the border and they can basically walk right threw the border as most of the border stations are closed at night. They may want to be careful as people are putting Conibear traps along the border to catch people from going on their land illegally. The government leaves the border wide open and in the winter the Ice bridge is open on the St. Lawrence so they can walk right in. They don't need someone to bring them across, they can walk right in. The Clinton County Sherriff is full of poop and just reading a statement. They are not soft on crime up here because I live here in Franklin County that is next to Clinton County and both Counties are have some of the laziest law enforcement that never solves any crime, they just accost the people that have got in trouble before and other innocent people to create revenue to pay the public employee's that really don't do anything for what we pay them. I can tell ya at the border you are lying how easy they can come and go as they shut all the border stations down between Champlain and Massena at night and they can come and go as they please!

Its actually incredibly easy for someone to get a student, or work visa from Africa, and come to Canada.

It used to be known that at certain times during the day, various border crossing points weren’t manned just open. I can almost guarantee that’s not happening anymore. Years ago I was coming home from Montreal and waited for someone to come out and check my paperwork and license, someone heading north shouted over that no one was there until 6 so just go. I shouted back that I thought someone had to check my car and paperwork. The other guy said if you’re not worried about your stuff being checked, just go. I seriously waited weeks to hear something about it, nope, crickets…

Hi everyone, I'm just going to weigh in some experience here. These people have given up on their government to fix things. They had it good before when Venezuela was wealthy not so long ago. They want that back. Who wouldn't. They want a chance at a better life . They have in most cases already sold all possessions for traveling money and bribes or security. They are scared and tired of traveling. They got told to come to America by someone. I wish we could afford as a country to take them all and it be ok and they build a good life here. I wish it was like that. The system we have needs work for certain. The USA is being overwhelmed by too many coming. We have to slow the roll . But it's a bad situation for all involved. They will look for an illegal way if needed to make it. Hence the cartels step in and offer a way in exchange for money or drug smuggling and the trouble gets worse. There is no simple solution here. Misleading people about where they're going (detention camp vs flight) is just wrong. As far as im conerned you should all be split up and dispersered to live in different provinces and cites. Coming from an Indian who has worked in overseas for the last 10 years - I hate to see Indian tourists with their noisy behaviour , bad manners & indecent attitude towards women (especially those from north & east India)- Like someone pointed out Indian government should step in give some basic training to Indians travelling abroad.and ban those who misbehave overseas- for pointers just see the video of Indians tourists bad behaviour aboard a Thai airlines flight

It’s not fair! If a person comes to America legally on a student or marriage visa, their parents have to pay everything to bring them here, and those individuals cannot receive government assistance for five years. However, if someone comes here illegally, they are given free housing, cars, money, healthcare, food stamps, and other benefits. We need those resources for our own citizens, as our country is already struggling. If you can’t come legally, please stay in your country.

Students with expired visas should go back. But what is Canadian culture? Is it found in Quebec? Alberta? Or the Reserves? What is it exactly? Do Canadian Immigration documents require applicants to sign they will convert their religion or culture after coming here? If you would change your culture upon entering another country, good for you but you have no right to expect that kind of inauthenticity from other people. If someone changes who they are and their culture upon entering another country then they are not as real as they portray. These are the type of two faced people that can also switch sides to help your enemies if given the chance to. And the truth is no matter how much people 'assimilate' here, people with even an ounce of racism and colonialist ghosts in their head will always first see the color of their skin. I worked at a Polish Grocery store and came across a man who's lived here for 30 years and spoke 10 words of English. All they speak at that store is Polish. I loved working there but I don't see anyone making a video about European immigrants retaining their culture.

Good decision by indian government. Please make this rule for indian citizens as well who are living abroad. If they want to enter india, ask them to fill a form to respect the sovereignty and law of india. If someone wants to fight for separation do it from inside. Foreign interference should not be allowed at any cost when it comes to national security and sovereignty.

Idk i think you need to realize that we also have our bias in addition to you having yours. Meaning, to most of us , excepting the most left leaning socially progressive pockets and contexts , which even then wouldn’t be viewed that way to us just acceptable lol ?\n\nOur baseline/political middle in Canada is A LOT more left leaning than the baseline normal/political middle in the states. So while people tend to equate your democrats to our liberals or our NDP , and equate your republicans to our conservatives. It’s just not accurate. If you throw our span of parties and American span of parties on the SAME spectrum /polarity line. You might be surprised to realize how shifted left our systems range politically is from the American one. \n\nThis hugely impacts the average normal expectation , what we clutch our pearls at hearing coming out of the mouths of the general public , and our range of what we expect to not hear or see ranted about unless they’re to our view , extremely right leaning politically /social values. \n\nFor us this means that actually genuinely , a lot of America does get experiences by us as bat shit crazy racist homophobic immigrant intolerant culturally and religiously ignorant , and somewhat backwards in larger or smaller amounts ? I know that’s not fun to hear but. Being the most diverse country based so much on immigration means. What is normal and known /familiar and normal so we aren’t ignorant to , is completely different. \n\nFor us we have our pockets usually in more rural less populated areas further away from larger cities where there is more diversity but that’s the same often in many countries that you will find some of the louder racist homophobic intolerant voices typically in places that truly are unfamiliar and ignorant to the experience of growing up with and around much of any diversity of varying kinds. So it’s not to say we don’t have racism and intolerance of course like anywhere we do. It’s just contained and the range and frequency and intensity is MUCH different. We distinguish nuances of diff cultures and religions more easily and in larger numbers we’re more familiar with diff ways of life , language , food, dress , holidays , values and used to a much less segregated way of existing even when we are differnt from each other as the NORM. My parents were both born in the states and my older brother was born there but they moved up here when he was a baby. So nearly all my extended family lives down there and I’m a duelly. And my experiences discussing things with my cousins or visiting absolutely could be described as culture shock at times. The insane things that came out of my own cousins mouths when they hear our friends or partners of various cultures , our not understanding how big a deal and incredibly insulting apparently it is to have assumed someone American was lgbt lol the list goes on. Like I don’t think our most intolerant Pockets can hold a flame to even ur closet to middle a bit intolerant places and contexts in America. Quite honestly. \n\nI think the absolute undying favourable passionate upholding and support of nationalistic, capitalist, hyper individualistic mentality about society as a whole (from my Canadian born and bred perspective lol) makes the differences even more glaring blaring and hard to swallow for us lol. I think more Canadians would feel exactly how that comment stated , that you felt was not fair for us to experience America as.
