Why is this dude still representing Canada? \n\nTwo months ago many of his key cabinets members resigned because Justin’s policies are destroying Canadians. Rightfully, he resigned. Dude needs to go away. Stop making Canada worse than what it has become under his horrendous leadership.\n\nThings happening:\n\nThe massive influx of foreigners, both legally and illegally into Canada.\n\nAffordable housing for native Canadians do not exist, people are leaving the country.\n\nHi mortgage payment or monthly rent are too high.\n\nFood prices are not coming down.\n\nSalaries are not keeping up with inflation.\n\nThe Canadian dollar keeps tanking.\n\nAs the leader of the country, he’s doing nothing to stop increasing violent crime.\n\nIncreasing amount of drugs in cities and suburbs.\n\nFinally, he’s pledging billions of dollars to Ukraine, when that money is needed at home.\n\nJustin is too emotional to deal with Trump.\n\nTrump complains about the trading balance between the two nations, $100 billion in favor of Canada.\n\nThe request is simple, import more American products, or export less products to America. But the imbalance has to stop.\n\nSame with Mexico, trading balance with Mexico is almost $200 billion in favor of Mexico. The imbalance has to stop. \n\nThe US economy is bleeding by trading with allies and partners, it’s fighting for its financial wellbeing. It is not some bs from the orange man, it is real.\n\nOf course Canada, Mexico, Europe and others want business as usual… and why wouldn’t they? ?

President Trump and you need to work it all out. As far as blanket tariffs go, I do agree that your goods and services, including tariffs should be mutually broken down to create benefits for all. Part of my lineage is from Quebec, and here USA. We all need to help each other. Laser focus to arrest and put in prison all drug terrorists should be everyone's focus. The wars elsewhere are sidetracking the two of you from standing side by side with one another, as you mention you usually do. Two friends, two parallel united goals, yet I do agree, again, that you said an enemy would rather divide you two than to see you both Triumph over evil! So PM Trudeau, get on the phone with President Donald, and the two of you tackle it out, include a .PPT write-up with solutions that both of you know is good overall, both instant, immediate and longer term. May God's Holy Hands be upon you and surround you, with the love of my Savior, Christ Jesus! Thank you! I love you all.

American here. Canada should cut off electricity it provides to the northern U.S. border states. Trump won’t stop until there is such an overwhelming retaliation that he can’t conduct business as usual anymore.

Pretty boy needs to go away before he destroys Canada completely !!!! Of course it's CNN instigating again as usual!!

We are reasonable, than why are we being absolutely destroyed by our politicians for the last 10 years? Thats not reasonable.\n\nThe reason they so outspoken now, is because they know it will make it even worse than what they did, and will continue to do..\n\nIf this tarrif thing never happened would be business as usual, and the Canadian Politicians would just keep making Canada even more expensive, now they have someone to blame for the absolute horrible position they put Canada long before this issue.

A 21st century superpower being run into the ground on the backs of ignorant hicks and religious zealots. This is f’ing madness man. Our (US) government has been taken over by extremists. This isn’t hyperbole or the usual insults, like surely there’s a way to stop this. China and Russia aren’t coming to our aid if we go to war with our best friends and allies.

Brilliant speak from the Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau, absolutely brilliant. tRUMP will respond in his usual fashion...child like speaking ignorant and full of lies and praise for himself just watch. Is this what republicans voted for, trade wars with what were once strong allies, stripping Federal Departments that ensured well being for needed services. tRUMP and his administration this is a nightmare for not just the United States but the world.

As usual, trump is playing to his MAGA base. He's pretty good at manipulating public sentiment. But he sure as hell isn't qualified for ANY public office, let alone POTUS. Sadly, the majority of my fellow americans have become so stupid that they don't even comprehend what's happening.\n\nI'm in my 70s, and have witnessed decades of cooperation between Canada and the US. This is a supremely disappointing development.

I think Trudeau is the only one Canadian guilty of this problem. A French official disguised as a religious man was involved in drug trafficking with the Miami baggage handlers. He even commissioned the baggage handler to commit domestic terrorism for the benefit of France. Air Force pilots died as kamikazes to destroy the drugs while CLEANTOWN prevented the FBI from raiding Arkansas as usual under the pretext of religion. The worst thing is that this pretext did not prevent women and children from being burned in the Davidians as the ASOVs do in Ukraine. Submitting to the French government when they are going to have an import tax is allowing French products to pass through Canada to avoid paying tax. To be sure that this does not happen, they do not need a vassal of France who follows the liars, and this is not a hypothesis, it is a fact that a Canadian, either disguised customs, or director of 2 wheels, can confirm not the arrest of the baggage handler who traced the trail but the domestic HATRED of these so-called gentry French, the friend of the haters of the KKK of France is not a quality of security and alliance against hatred and sure that the taxe will be apply to the hatred.

Something sinister is going on. This is a phoney war. Follow the money. Who benefits? Billionaires of course. Artificially disrupt and manipulate markets and make a killing. Then watch the tariff war come to an end. As usual it is the little guy who suffers.

I'm a Native American fm Arizona. Been ur neighbor for years!! Inspite of what Trump is doing nothing will change that!! This man call Trump is definitely not a smart man!! Otherwise, it would have been business as usual. He is rushing his agenda only to cause conflicts, gain attention and he doesn't have a whole lot of time (3 yrs 8 months)!! I'm sure the next president after he's gone will fix all the damages his caused and done!!???

This guy is so weak. Don't he know that we Americans don't need Canada to survive. We are Americans not Canadians we vote for Trump not this dude. He should only address the Citizens of Canada. Americans are listening to his propaganda, some old jargon, business as usual conversation. America first!

The tables have turned my friends... Buckle up, batten down... Trump is loyal to no one... America wasn't suffering for lack before this change of govt... Just look at their arms bill $$$... But Trump is like Freddy from elm street with the slashing hand... Slashing away at friends and foes... Yep, like Jason with the machete ... You short-termed memory voters unleashed the beast upon yourselves and the world... ?? Bravo... But a nation usually gets the leader it deserves, sorry to say.??

trump is just being his usual vindictive self. He is being mean to Canada because they have the nerve to turn down his 'wonderful' offer of being the 51st state of the 'great' (not anymore) US of A.

Thank you for not backing down to 47. I know it is going to cost more, but we cannot give in to 47. I live in NH and I know a lot of Canadians usually come down here for shopping and vacations- we will miss you as you fight against these tariffs.

Funny Canada and US go hand and hand , but I haven’t seen Trudeau at the bargaining table with US on anything other then their own self interesst… odd how that works. hmm there’s just a empty seat next to trump and Putin, not your place I guess.. governors don’t usually do that sort of thing. ?

I ordered some electronic parts today from an American supplier. I paid my first tariffs, which amounted to about 2/3rds of the usual sales tax in additional cost.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Trudeau hasn’t been good for Canada, virtue signaling like usual instead of going to the toot of the problems, same guy that put protesters in jail and froze bank accounts of the innocent.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Watching from Sweden...Trumps tariffs can not be what the american people wants. It will hurt regular families in america and other countries. The top % will remain unhurt as usual. Realize that you are as a people being taken for a ride by the richest and most evil.

Please, explain it to me, what this trade war has to do with the USA — Russia relationship? Please let me know why the President of Russia is a lying, murderous dictator? Facts on the table!!! Or is it all a usual BS?

| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Trudeau screwed up canada. \nHe created the dire economic situation in Canada and Trump noticed this situation and is trying to make this situation as an opportunity for his government.\nTrudueau, as usual , is trying to push the blame on to Trump's administration.\nTrudeau has F** ed up! Period.

Dear Canada thank you for the kind words and speaking up for behalf not only on your country but on behalf of all of suffering with children at the cost of this high jacking of the govt, american schools are closing in our cities to enrich doge and pocket american dollars meanwhile the president is golfing and spitting his usual KKK non sense

Canada has two personalities - the usual self effacing ‘Sorry’ and ‘you’re going to be F**!+* Sorry’. Elbows up we can do this! ??
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Dumbest thing will be when this ends and Canadians go back to business as usual without having learned a single thing. Again.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Because Trudeau is nice, and tried to get along and show respect, as usual trump thought he saw weakness. That's always a mistake.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Everyone wants to go back to the fancy talking politicians that just continue to do politics as usual. The same things you complained about for decades now you are pining for. Sheep.

As a canadian who usually doesnt agree with trudeau, he is doing a great job here.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Has everyone forgot that during Trumps first term HE signed the biggest and best trade deal that anyone’s ever seen ( in his words ) with Mexico and Canada? He sat right in front of cameras and did it , and as usual showed off his fantastic signature. THAT trade deal was NEVER changed, even thru the last 4 years administration. But all of a sudden Trump walks in mouthing about it, blaming everyone else for it, and ready to change things? Why? What’s the issue? Let me guess… does he not remember doing that either?

As a South African, I want to say that this trade war, as well as the hostile approach of Trump towards Canada, is devastating. If one were not experiencing it directly, it would be almost impossible to believe. This is such a remarkable speech that it will go down in history as one of the truly great speeches in times of crisis. It is entirely correct to address the American and Canadian peoples directly, as the Prime Minister has done. They are both clear victims of this madness, Americans misled, and Canadians the target, of this senseless trade war. If one reads History, there is another dimension to this, and I hate to say it. Canadians have to prepare themselves for worse. These types of antics by the aggressor usually involve, finger pointing, contrived border incidents, plausibly deniable incursions and other actions, by the aggressor, which one can find if the preludes to the WW1 and WW2 are studied. I am not sure if you have porcupines in Canada, but you need to rapidly become one.

Trade wars usually start nation wars. Trump wants Canada to throw a punch (false flag, anyone?) and give reason to grab Greenland.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
As usual, it's the most poorly informed, inarticulate, and blatantly dishonest commenters who support Trump.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Stunning? REALLY? Orange Julius has been threatening this for months, and how dare anyone pretend that regardless of how IDIOTIC the move, he wouldn't proceed anyway. Everyone and their DOG sees that Putin OWNS Trump. And, as usual, we suffer the consequences.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Let's see how Rupert Murdoch and Fox Fake News spins this, then again, they don't even have to get creative. Just out right lie as usual.

Trump needs to look at his own country’s fentanyl problem because America wouldn’t be having a fentanyl problem if America didn’t have the demand for the drug!!\nGood luck Trump…Hope you figure it out because America is the one that is demanding the drug and if Americans want it they usually find a way to get it…?..?

I’m in Seattle and have a vacation home in British Columbia so go there often while renting out other days to other people. Wonder how the tariffs gonna affect this. For example if certain things need to be remodeled in my pad over in BC I usually order from suppliers in USA near the border since I use them for my home in Seattle too. I’m guessing it might get taxed now. Not sure how it will play out. I do know that initially tariffs gonna effect lot of people but do believe in general it will get economy better. I recently saw that Mexico been adding tariffs for years for certain USA goods (for example appliances purchased in usa from Mexico will cost another 27% etc) and it’s time for USA do similar things. Just hoping my burrito cost doesn’t keep going up. Was around 8$ several years back and now it’s 14$ in Seattle ?
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Curious, what is a better solution to tariffs already imposed by Canada on the US? It's amazing that Canada's solution is to argue there is no justification...I'd ask Trudeau, what does Trump want? Is is unreasonable or not...if it is unreasonable, tell us why....because one thing about Trump, he is usually pretty darn clear about what he wants.
|

Trump governanace is anchored to a make belief, no fact and no evidence information. As usual. Conspiracy theorist?????

This isn’t’anti-Americanism’ how about anti-Canadian? As an American I can only say this breaks my heart that Donald continues to sever relationships with our nearest neighbors and Allie’s. How sad for all of us. Now tighten your belts America. This will hurt but Donald will tell you how great this is for everyone in his usual stupid bravado.
