To be here as a citizen today, I had to pay CAD$35.000 for a two years program in Toronto. But to get the study visa I had to prove a lot of things, including money, proof that I had paid the college (at least 1st year), English, a Bachelor degree (education), a clear criminal history, and what attach me to my country. I had to study hard, and only after graduation I could have 3y work permit. By working in Canada I could get more point to become a permanent resident. After 2y having my PR, I could get the citizenship, but I had to prove I pay taxes, clear criminal history, and other things that show I would be a good citizen. So, I worked (and still work) hard, I am currently in two jobs and at school taking my masters, I respect the laws, I respect the culture (I never tried to impose mine), and I pay over CAD$10.000 in taxes per year on my income. That said, I feel as a slap on my face when fraudulent and dishonest people are able to be here cheating the system in any way. Some people may say I am an immigrant against immigration. NO, I am in favor of people taking the right path to immigrate, and make real contributions for this country, not coming to be scammers and criminals.

Yes, Indians came to Canada. Yes, they live mostly in Brampton. So what? The focus should be on whether a person is a good citizen or not. Having Justin Trudeau occupy the Top Job in Canada as PM was a mistake. Making him PM given his limited intellectual abilities didn't do Canada any favors really. This is a horrible situation on both ends and the fact that its all 100% administration failure is sad. Its not fair to anyone not even the immigrants. They keep bringing in more people then the economy can afford to live here I frankly find it ridiculous. I want to know whats driving these policies to continue. My parents came to canada 25 years ago, they payed thousands of dollars to get status here. Now people are getting in as cheap labour that can't even afford to live here so they dogpile 10-15 people in the same 2-3 bedroom apartments or houses and the infrastructure is still being built on the logic of single families when in the reality thr opposite is happening we have sudden crowding because rent is unaffordable due to the massive influx of people, including canadian born nationals that are forced to live in these environments if they don't have support- Its crazy why not close your borders stabilize rebuild infrastructure then slowly work on immigration policies again when the housing market and job market are stable again. Theres absolutely no reason to cite labour shortages when theres an unemployment rate and homeless people everywhere- close the borders- get homes built, throw heavy incentives to join and get educated on any productive field that has a shortage upto and including providing shelter to canadian citizens that decide to pursue these fields and are homeless. Have a fast track rotating incentive down to the year along with guaranteed on job training for all occupations. Such a simple solution so stupid we can't execute it. Wow, we have no idea where these people are, if these students are even in Canada, we don't know who left the country. What the he'll is happening . Who decided it was India that can send us millions of people and we are going to be ok. Employers should be aware of SINs before hiring people. I am also an immigrant, but my dad worked hard as a skilled worker to bring us here to Canada. I pay my duly taxes monthly and yearly. So I find it unfair when people work under the table. However, I've noticed that some students, who never attend their classes, end up in high positions with well-paying jobs at big companies. Meanwhile, I can't count how many refugees and immigrants are in low-income brackets, receiving 100% coverage for their medication and a monthly allowance from the government. In contrast, Canadian senior citizens still have to pay 20-30% of their medication costs and don't get the same privileges when it comes to their essentials. It frustrates me that the government makes our senior citizens suffer at retirement age, even after they've worked so hard for so many years. Yet they still struggle to pay for their own medication and necessities. I've encountered many rude refugees and people on income support from other countries who feel entitled to special treatment just because they are under government programs. Ironically, some of them come wearing luxury clothes and bags—like Gucci and Louis Vuitton. As I said, I am an immigrant too, but my heart goes out to those who have fully earned the support and benefits they deserve.

I was unemployed for a short period of time at Maple Lodge Farm and another packing company and all workers were Indians and they were rude people. These companies should be raided by the police and they will catch a lot of students hiding there. The immigration should open a site where citizens or legal residents can report these people. That would make it eadier for Canada to track the illegals. But the important thing is stop the incoming students and the refugees.

As someone who comes from latin-america and has been travelling and touristing in Canada for the last 10 + years, and finally decided to take the step to immigrate to Canada through the front door, I can safely say you guys are losing your amazing country. My permit was not approved and you know what, I am not even mad. I see a lot of these people leeching off your government and for some reason they get preferential treatment over people like me who come to do things honestly, work, study, and adding to the country instead leeching from it. Like I said, I first came to Canada a little over 10 years ago, and I am telling you this country is changing for the worse. One thing I also noticed is how back then I always used to hear the memes of Canadians being nice and always saying "sorry". Those memes no longer exist. I totally agree with descendants of Canada. Immigration should be limited to a certain percentage and shouldn't be encouraged more than the set percentage. Because the developed countries citizens won't get the opportunity in developing countries as they would be limited to their own country or limited to other developed countries. Thank you for showcasing this city. Brampton has long been the armpit of Peel Region, and the cause of many of the rest of our issues. The new entitled migrants that come here spill out into other areas of the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) spreading the crime and loitering, and essentially "taking over" certain places and causing massive issues. Our Car insurance rates in Peel are insanely high, primarily because of Brampton also being a part of Peel, and the high accident and theft rates coming out of that city. We have a massive issue here in Canada with unchecked mass immigration, and we don't see do be doing anything about removing the people who have overstayed their welcome, aswell as an issue with letting the new population move only to the same already developed places, overpopulating those areas that never had the infrastructure to support those numbers of people. Especially the households that are housing more families than just their own, the people who arent citizens that are clogging up our healthcare systems, all the jobs taken up by the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, the lack of openings in universities and colleges because of international students. Its unbelievable how much they take advantage of the system.

The government of Canada allowed these Indians to come to Canada in excessive large numbers. They abuse every system of Canada, change the culture of Canada, buy out all businesses in Canada, and employ only their own Indians. They don't drive for licenses, they own the depot, and they don't need credits for loans at the banks because they own the banks. They fight out and make it difficult for all other ethnic groups in Canada. Justin Trudeau seems to have allowed 90% of Indians to immigrate to Canada and 10% of other ethnic backgrounds combined. Trudeau has caused the Canadian culture to be transformed into Indian culture. Canada is no longer Canada. it's become India, and it's extremely unfair to all other ethnic groups. Being a citizen of Canada and 'Canadian' are two very different things.

Canada, Australia and UK are all heading in the same direction. Controlled by leftist governments virtue signalling. Existing citizens are being extinguished and they don't even do anything about it? The truth is the goverment is the problem. The Canadian citizens are not happy about the situation, and new immigrants realize Canada isn't as good as it is advertised in social media. The biggest concern is that they took over a town that has prime real estate and best location! The issue with Canada is that, when Europeans came here, they didn't integrate with native Indians, didn't accept their traditions/lanuages but brought their own European culture/traditions and languages and named it as a Canadian Culture. The reason why Europenas were able to take over the whole Canada and impose English and French language is that European culture was strong, then brown/black/asian people are moved to Canada and they are brought their own culture/languages, but the brown culture really stood up and sustained because their culture was strong like europeans and more of them are still coming. the history is repeating itself because of politicians in power. People on the both sides are not willing to listen the other side, for example, citizens think that international students are creating the a here, doing cash jobs but they don't see that this coutntry that charged them $9k/term tution fees can't even provide them a job forcing them to work illigally and commit crimes, and on the other side Internation students think that citizens hate us because they are brown but big NO citizens are frustrated because they have no jobs and immigrants are not integrating themselves among other communities. Higher unemployment = higher crime = more = higher division among people, ALL THIS IS HAPPENING BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT IS ALLOWING.

Took my parents 6-7 years to get to Canada, legally, approximately 35 years ago. How do these people come as students, then take jobs from citizens, and then sponsor their family members who can't even contribute to our society. Literally putting a burden on all the systems. The government not patching this loophole has fked us up. You come to study, then do that and go back.

I’m a recent Indian immigrant and I’ve lived in Singapore, Malaysia, the USA, and now Canada. I’ll admit that a lot of what’s said here is true: there are far too many cases where Indians abroad show a lack of civic sense, break rules, or behave in ways that don’t respect the host country.  Personally, my family and I have always assimilated wherever we’ve lived, respecting local customs, following rules, and contributing positively to the community and I hate it when immigrants don't assimilate into the local culture and reside in their own enclaves, I mean what was the point of emigrating then?? I truly value the peace and order these countries offer, and I want to give that back. Every community has good and bad examples. The responsibility is on us as immigrants to lead by example, integrate genuinely, and show that we can be respectful, responsible citizens. That’s how perceptions change for the better. It sucks that a whole racial group can be disliked because of some bad apples — and in our case, unfortunately, there are quite a few.

I agree with you to the extent of your understanding of Canadian culture. However, immigrants to Canada should be aware that the First Nations and indigenous people of Canada often have to seek a better life in other countries because colonizers and their descendants show no regard for treaty rights and have disenfranchised First Nations. The government hides the facts about the plight of indigenous Canadians and lie to Canadian immigrants and citizens, always to divide and conquer. Immigrants often don't realize that most indigenous Canadians are living in worse conditions than what the immigrants themselves came from, and few live as comfortably as white Canadians. When white people talk about how hard they have it because of immigrants, they should think about what First Nations have to deal with everyday because of them. Why is there a French-speaking province and not a Cree or Anishnabe speaking province?
