You need to make your own country a better place to live and stop sh*tting all over Canada trying to make it your little India. We don’t come to your country to make it more Americanized. We’d be put in jail or kicked out. So don’t expect that we will just allow you to come here and try to change our way of life, this is NOT your right. Canadians need to come first. Being born and raised here counts for something. Even immigrants who have been here for 10-20 years don’t want you. They know how horrible you treat your women and citizens in your own country and don’t want that here. Go home. Canada doesn’t want you. We need to fix our own issues before letting anyone else in.

I was born and raised in India and settled in USA California Los Angeles..from the day one I started working in a very prestigious company because I had a college degree in India master degree in sociology and psychology…but I never had experience RACISM NEITHER MY HUSBAND AND MY CHILDREN…. WE WERE WELCOME IN THE CHURCH VERY NICELY AND AT WORK TO TREATED EQUALLY, IN SIX MONTH I GOT PROMOTED..LIVING HAPPILY EVER AFTER, BOUGHT A BIG HOUSE AND BOTH BOYS GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE WITH A GRADE NOW WORKING IN A VERY PRESTIGIOUS JOB IN STATE….SO BOTTOM LINE I NEVER FELT RACISM IN AMERICA…..GOD BLESS AMERICA….

⁠\nPretty obvious that some Canadians here while claiming to support legal immigration don’t want the immigrants to live like as they were born and raised. \n​​⁠\nSo how does someone eating what they want and dressing how they want hurt the Canadians? As long as they are not covering their faces (for instance), obeying all the laws, paying taxes, being good humans, and not causing safety issues. Seems Canadians are not that keen on diversity, after all, which is ok. But then don’t advertise a diverse multi culture narrative to attract immigrants and then bash them once in. Sounds pretty prejudiced to me.

The most concerning thing to me is that they're taking jobs away from local Canadians who were born and raised here and thus worsening the lives of other Canadians as well, it's a domino effect that'll change what Canada looks like 20-50 years from now.

Yes I was born and raised in Canada and just moved to Alberta in a small brand new community and it's all Indian culture with all the houses worth anywhere from 1 to 4 million dollars and I'm the minority living and renting a basement Suite LOL. Trudeau has messed up our wonderful country. \n\nBrampton, unfortunately, is not the only city that is affected. I have lived in Milton for 15 years, and it used to be very multicultural . I used to love stepping outside my door, going to my church, walink around the town, going to shop and seeing all different races and nationalities. In the past four years, the demographics have drastically changed, and now they are taking over Milton. I don't see multiculturalism in Milton anymore. Makes me feel like an outsider in my now country, where I was born and raised.

Some of the stats cited here are straight up wrong or... creatively employed, and there's a lot of contradictory information and the typical conservative 'the sky is falling' sensationalism and misattribution. That said, the bas supposition isn't wrong. The bubble we've been sitting on for 20 or so years has completely burst. As someone born and raised in the Toronto area, it's impossible for me to afford to own a house or apartment here on a teacher's salary. Even rent pushes me to the limit unless I want to live in a... less than nice area. I'm living hand to mouth and enjoying the benefits of living in a 'developed' country less. Here's why:\n\n1. Wages aren't really even close to keeping up with the cost of living. The first tick upwards a bit. The second just keeps rising on the back of housing, food, amenities, and inflation: the four horsemen.\n\n2. Our grocery cabal ruthlessly raise prices whenever we look away, and their lobbyists are all ensconced within the leadership of our three major parties, particularly the Conservatives (so if anyone thinks that electing them will help, they're in for a nasty surprise).\n\n3. We're experiencing 'labour shrinkflation': increasing duties are downloaded onto workers and more is expected: more productivity, more availability (almost 24/7 in some jobs), and higher qualifications. Meanwhile, real wages are decreasing relative to living cost, more positions are 'contract', which is basically a way for employers to not have to give you benefits, and job security is tenuous for a lot of people.\n\n4. Houses are being bought by investors and not owners. Foreign entities are money laundering. The wealthy upper crust of high population countries are moving here and buying property because Canada is (still) more safe and stable and less repressive than their home countries in most cases. \n\n5. There's a cycle beginning: as people are squeezed and forced to spend more on 'needs', they spend less on eating out, entertainment, and other 'wants'. These are significant drivers of the service economy and they're being hit hard. So, what can they do? They can let go of workers or lower product costs to remain profitable, but they their quality declines and, in a market where people are pinching every penny and looking for quality for their dollar, they're less likely to go back. They can raise their prices, of course, but then they price people out completely and their profits still tank. I went to a decent steakhouse for my dad's 60th last week. I can't remember the last time that I went to one before that. \n\n6. Our politicians and news cycles focus on the most niche and irrelevant stuff because it'll stoke anger and get tongues wagging. This carbon thing is almost a non-issue, but our conservative leader is harping on about it like it's singlehandedly the death of the Canadian economy when it's a drop in the bucket. Trudeau focuses on 'equity' measures, hoping for a bit of cheap good press, while his efforts are, for the most part, just window dressing and the issues, while meaningful, are often not of paramount importance or even applicable to the vast majority of the people who elected him. Meanwhile, the middle class is pretty much evaporating as he speaks. The NDP keep talking about this in a pretty real way, for what it's worth, but Jagmeet Singh is giving off an increasing vibe of just being another fat cat politician beneath his rhetoric these days. Also, third-party trolls and screeching conservatives try to bury him on social media whenever he speaks... a lot more than other leaders as well, oddly. I wonder why? Oh yeah, the Greens exist and there's Quebec and the conspiracy theory party.\n\n\nUltimately, what we're experiencing is the revenge of the feudal system. Instead of paying rents to your lord and doing labour on the land for him whenever commanded to, you pay rent to your landlord now and go to work even when you're sick or when work hours are over because you have no union protection or are working 'on contract'. Unless we want to live in the armpit of nowhere, 95% of us are going to be wage slaves living hand-to-mouth, not owning our own property, and working to please our corporate overlords if current trends continue unchecked. While some of Canada's problems are unique, I fear that most aren't. As for me, I'm headed to the 'armpit of nowhere' where I can at least have a ghost of a chance of affording life.

I'm a Japanese born & raised in Toronto, and used to love Canada. Now I'm seriously thinking of moving to Japan - a country that protects itself from migrants, and even over-tourism recently. I don't mind diversity, but not willing to live in Little India, nor listen to people preaching their Muslim/Islamic faith every day ???

It's really getting ridiculous - I'm making 6 figures, and was living comfortably until 2018. Now I have to pinch every single penny. One thing that changed is I had my first-born. But it should not be this expensive to raise of family of 1 child. It's getting ridiculous. We've been considering emigrating elsewhere. \n\nHaving done everything - from going to university, making sacrifices to afford a first home - yet we're still regressing in life. This shouldn't be. \n\nI thought Canada was heaven on earth - but that view has changed, as it's getting more difficult to survive, forget thrive.

A lot of young people in Hong Kong have left for Canada thinking it would be freer and with greener pastures to boot. Being born and raised there for over 2 decades, I warned them what was really going on but they were too fixated on keeping their rose coloured glasses on. They're slowly trickling back now because frankly speaking, they were living life on easy mode in Asia compared to running the Canadian gauntlet.

Born and raised in Canada. The rising cost of living is just depressing and I’ve basically given up on starting a family because of it here in Vancouver. I know that in order to move out of my parents house, I’d have to get a full time job, eat instant noodles only, and have at least five roommates in order to continue living here. Minimum wage in BC is $16/hr changing to $17/hr but living wage is at least $26/hr last I checked. It’s so sad because I love it here but it seems just seems impossible to be hopeful .

Since 2016, many International Students started coming to Canada and they moved to Brampton in particular so they wouldn't have to assimilate into Canadian way of life. I'm a Punjabi kid born and raised in Canada, who grew up in Brampton. Brampton has gone to the shits post 2017/2018 when all these International Students invaded Brampton. The older Punjabi families are moving out of Brampton and are moving to other towns, while some of them rent out their old homes in Brampton to International Students. Old Punjabis are suffering from this the most, maybe you should've interviewed Canadian born Punjabis or Punjabis who have been in Canada for dozens of years instead of interviewing some new comers and a couple crackheads. Not only are these new International Students fucking up the neighbourhoods we've been living in, they've ruined our reputation that our parent's/grandparent's generation worked their ass off to establish in Canada. Maybe Trudeau or whoever the fuck is in charge, should raise their standards of what kind of International Students can enter Canada and have a more difficult English proficiency test. Canada wants Internation Student money, but at what cost? They let in a bunch of buffoons who have no respect to the Canadian way of life.\n\nThat being said, you kind of showed a biased perspective, you interviewed a bunch of crackheads in downtown Brampton. The Sikh Gurdwara you showed actually feeds 100s of homeless people everyday. Gurdwaras all over Canada are contributing more to society than any other religious establishment including Churches. Sikh Gurdwaras give free food to anyone who visits the temple, even during corona virus they would give out packages of free food. I've seen many homeless people getting their food packed from Gurdwaras.

A professor offered me a position in his research lab for master's, so it was more like studying in US free of cost and earning monthly stipend for doing research. \nI never considered this as permanent move but quality of research I did in US, the opportunities and salary I received I could never imagine that in Canada. I am still in touch with my university friends in Canada work at low wages on obsolete tech stuff, with no innovation at work. Many of them want to move to the US, but for 10+ years they worked on outdated stuff, so they cannot compete with the talent pool in US. Even in 2004, I remember healthcare being bad and I keep hearing stories about how worse it has become. In US, I am covered by a good health insurance, I had surgeries for myself and my kids, and we never had any issues. Honestly, I can no longer trust Canadian healthcare with insane wait times for my kids safety.

Born and raised in toronto, I live in Las Vegas. I am able to achieve the American dream in two years with an average salary( single income) , protect myself and my family with 2nd amendment right. 30yr fixed mortgage rate at 3.0% on a brand new house what Canadians would consider a big home at 2400 sq foot home. Foods cheaper , fuel cheaper, Nike is cheaper lol and most importantly No snow. \n\nIf I carried the same amount of salary to Mississauga I would completely have the total opposite. I live in Kitchener, ON and have noticed quite an influx of East Idioms here as well. I think it is one thing to have open arms to people from other countries BUT we should take care of the born and raised Canadians that now have to compete with these people for housing, not to mention employment to a certain extent.

I can’t afford to live here anymore, healthcare has declined, personal safety, fuel costs, insurance etc. most of all our politics are a mess on all three major parties. The Liberals are a royal mess and inflation went through the roof. They’re just running around like the 3 blind mice making fools of themselves. The Conservatives are involving themselves in a right wing romance with fascist trumpianism and think poutine is an ok guy. The hate speech is unreal. We used to be a real chill country. I have young 20 somethings telling me they think Communism is a great idea and they would rather fight for poutine if a war breaks out. Well it’s their future not mine. The AI, bots and trolls on the internet are telling them what they want to hear in order to stir up hate and entitlement. The NDP (New Democratic Party) is neither here nor there, they’re kind of always the minority and swing both the other two parties to divide the vote and gain some form of temporary power. \nI’d like to see a politician that has the balls to stand up to the dictators of this world that shit disturb in every continent because they are such little insecure bastards that they think they can conquer it. I’ve got news for them. Every single dictator in history has failed… miserably and often brutally. We need the kind of leadership in our Country that can produce good governance. Our GDP is just under $60K. The dictators out there are rubbing their greedy little hands, for if there is ever a 3rd world war, Canada will be the prize. We are loaded with resources. Many of us Canadians who are born and raised here have been living here for generations. Our grandparents and great parents immigrated here and helped build this country. Many of us are hard working people and have no problems with immigrants that move here to WORK, go to school get an education become a productive member of society, make a good life for themselves. The immigrants that come here expecting a hand out, expect Canadian laws and Canadians to occomidate them. To expect our laws to change to accommodate them, well that won't happen here. Many of us are hard working blue collar people especially in the Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Northern Ontario. Most of us won't put up with bullshit. Leaving Canada??? Are you kidding me? If all these disillusioned immigrants are leaving, then why do us born and raised Canadians see every major city of ours being overtaken over by these immigrants, specifically the South and east Asian variety, in every single one of them? Here is statistic for you on one of them.....more than 75% of the people who live in Toronto, are from another country!! 75%, and Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, and every other big city we have are catching up to that percentage as we speak. I laugh my ass off when I when I see a tiny minority group like yours claiming that immigrants are leaving at a rapid pace. I suppose though it might appear that way to you if you were not born here to begin with and witnessed the massive change in our immigrant population over the past 30 years like us born and raised Canadians have. Dont get me wrong either. I am all for immigration and know how necessary they are to our successful economy and I do feel for the ones that try to make a decent living here but get pushed out for whatever reason, but to say that there is alot of immigrants leaving is simply not true by any measureable standard or why are there so many of you everywhere? Canadian born and raised millennial here. Escaped Canada a few years ago for the US and live a much better and wealthier life. Can't see myself ever moving back to Canada.

If citizenship is their goal, then they should learn to speak English AND French, speak our languages in our streets, not demand schools in the Punjabi language or that CBC (taxpayers) pay for Hockey Night in Canada in Punjabi, when its already available in French and English. It takes more than living on Canadian soil to be Canadian. You must speak, act and live the part! ??

Is crazy how people come to other countries and think it's going to be easy. It's hard for the people that live here and was born and raised here too. This is happening everywhere

I was born and raised here. I am doing my exit plan as I cannot afford to live here as young-adult living on my own. The government knew exactly what they were doing when they allowed 9 million people to come here in a short amount of time. How can you provide billions for foreign aid but can't provide basic necessities to your own citizens? I have cut EVERYTHING extra out of my life and even while working a full-time job I cannot survive in my own country. Canada is a country for the elite, cliche style immigrants, and for the ultra wealthy who pass down intergeneration wealth. A failed health care system that provides little to no services at which you pay out of pocket to get access with private health care providers. You can't depend on transit as it is the mercy of the corrupt transportation/commissioners aka unions and the cost of gas is out of this world. I AM SO LUCKY I went to university and graduated when I did because the same degree would have cost 15k-20k more...food is super expensive...renting an apartment is seen as a form of luxury....you have to know someone to get basic things done. What a shameful society...a society that treats immigrants with upmost respect only to turn around looking the other way when it comes to homelessness...the housing crises...lack of employment oppts, gosh I can go on. My brother was lucky enough to move to Dubai and cash in on his savings by investing it into his properties where he pays 0 tax on his salary from his job.

Canadians born and raised here must work hard and pay their own way ….. nothing is free for anyone. Best idea. Attend school where you live.

As Canadian born raised here we've tremdious growth over the decades specially inside areas outside the GTA. One the biggest issues facing everyone here besides immigrants is taxes / inflation. Our government only looks at those coming from India as cash cow to keep things rolling economically more people more taxes are paid. Canada needs to start being more economic minded by reducing all taxes abroad to make cost of living more affordable.

I live in Vancouver, born and raised, and the cost of living is ridiculous. I have no idea why these Punjabi 20-somethings flock here by the boat load. More than half won't/can't survive. Homegrown Canadians are even being forced out of the city to live in the suburbs...which is only slightly cheaper. Besides, there's waaaay too many here now anyways. Stay home, a win for everybody

Native born, raised, and educated in Canada. I left Canada 25 years ago, first to the US briefly then to China and now living in Vietnam. No regrets. Best decision I ever made. Get out while you can.\n\nI would not recommend Canada to anyone. The Trudeau government has made things so much worse.

I don't blame you, I was born and raised in Canada and its not what like what it was 20-30 years ago. On top of a crappy climate and endless gray days, terrible health services, falling standards of living no thanks to Trudeau. Canada's golden period frankly in the 1970s its been in decline since overall, there was a brief boom in the late 2000s/early 2010s under Harper but its all but evaporated.

It is really sad. It all comes down to the money. Like any other social issue, follow the money trail, and you'll come to the conclusion greed. I lived in india and was born and raised here. As,I told my friends in india.stay at home, unless you have lots of money to do so. Keep your culture and love your home.

How can we help others when we cant even provide for our own? Born and raised canadians are ended up on the streets in record numbers and the cost of living is higher then its ever been. If this isnt a sign something is seriously wrong I dont know what is. Under these circumstances the only course of action is to reduce immigration until we can fix the the issues with housing and the cost of living. Doing anything else will only cause the problems to grow.
