As a Brit... I've been to Canada many times (the first time as a soldier in 1981) and of late in the likes of BC, I've fished there. Love, love, love Canada and the Canadians. As a Canadian citizen I have always admired the US up until now, I sincerely wanted to move to the US to build homes and start up a company. But now am re-evaluating my decision because if this how the US treats their friends and allies, I really feel sad for their enemies. I have never felt more proud to be a Canadian, it’s a good feeling, I was almost brought to tears earlier thinking about it. I was glad that not too long ago... Trump actually did say the truth to the American people: Canada imports 95% of it's goods from the USA... with us refusing to buy American, with all of us buying Canadian or International products instead... how will he be making America great again ?? Don't buy Canadian Bacon, Maple Syrup and other Canadian goods. Canada is NOT the closest ally of the US and has long in fact been like the Karen nation of North America who is massively passive aggressive to the US, and outright hatred for the US is rampant among many Canadians. 25 percent 155 billion which is dwarfed by the trade imbalance of the many billions more of Canadian goods that go to the US, mostly it is American Alcohol that goes to Canada, to fuel the drunks of Canadian society, so Homeless alcoholics in Canada might truly suffer. How is more sobriety a bad thing Trudeau? This might be fantastic for people who drink alcohol to make a break with the booze they have been needing. \n\nThe rest of us, who don't buy Canadian goods nor own or invest in American alcohol won't feel anything. I'm doing ongoing research to cease any spend on any US product or service. I'm buying software from Europe, using Posteo for email, deGoogling this year and vastly reducing Youtube. I trace all groceries to eliminate anything US sourced and I now check that products are Mexican and Canadian as much as I'm able and they are supplying. I've stopped planning trips to LA and NYC, I might resume if American voters ever have the good sense to vote en masse against obviously fascist plans and personalities. I've holidayed in Mexico three times and would visit Canada and Europe in future. US is not safe for everyone any longer, not even its citizens and looks to be getting increasingly insecure and offering prosperity only to the already mega rich through crooked policies and agencies. Every week or two I double check the facts on groceries and online products/services to make sure I'm not accidentally buying American. The election was so compromised in November I'm glad people are realising the only action we can take is with our wallets from not logging in to 'big tech' to buying bread and apples etc.
