I’m a Canadian citizen. I married a Jewish African woman. And helped her get her citizenship after we got married here in Canada. Then we stood outside in the -20 degrees c freezing cold in a long lineup of good people trying to get their citizenships like my wife, all legally obeying the laws of Canada. I’m white so it doesn’t mater our skin color or religion. Its about love and respect to the laws of our country. What I was talking about before is we here in Canada have been suffering from over taxation, extremely high rental rates, high food costs, greatly reduced medical care (My Mom died recently from lack of proper med care resources). They put her lonely dying body in the hallway where she was robbed of her cell phones, money, food and respect. Due to migrants and illegal immigrants overloading the beds and rooms pouring in from other countries. they drained our existing medical system resources and much more. Drug addicts who overdosed on Fentanyl they take first and push all other patients aside. Doctors take them first before helping a dying mother, father, brother or sister, infant and children pushed aside to save a drug addicts life first. I have been told many times this is also do to them taking care of the pouring in migrants and illegal immigrants using it all up. Where is love and justice? Yes, you failed us Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. You sold us Canadian citizens out and tossed us aside for your own agendas. You are a disgrace to Canada and we the people want you out of office.

Deporting undocumented immigrants will cause many small businesses to struggle. Who will do the work that most people don’t want to do—like agricultural jobs, dishwashing, and lawn care? Undocumented immigrants contribute more to this country than many realize, and they also pay taxes through their purchases. Food prices will rise if we deport them because most Americans won’t take these jobs for low wages. If Americans take on these roles, they are likely to demand higher pay, which would increase costs across the board. In the end, we would be hurting ourselves and our finances. It’s already challenging enough, with many Americans living paycheck to paycheck. I believe that a mass deportation of undocumented immigrants would be a serious mistake.

The damage is already done, and if you live in Vancouver you know what I mean. Before it was just restricted to neighborhoods. Now entire cities/municipalities are overrrun with ethnic minorities becoming enclaves, where you don't even feel like you're in Canada anymore. In particular, the amount of Chinese and Punjabi's the Trudeau government has let in is astounding. Nobody speaks English anymore. Its insane! They've completely taken over. This has effected housing costs and availability. There is now a job shortage, a health care crisis and vehicle traffic that doesn't let up until after 8pm. Only thing left to do at this point is cancel all study and work permits and if you don't have your PR card, then you leave!

I was visiting when I felt sick. I came home asap. Turned out I had a tumour on my brain stem. Thankfulness. 4 surgical teams, 10 hr surgery, 1wk in hosp, months of homecare, rehab and follow up mri and care. Yikes. My sis moved down in 1976, was good when she was in her 30’s while she worked. Her husband, American, went off on Canadian disability and once my sister retired their healthcare costs were crazy. They moved to a state that had better senior med care. I was visiting four yrs ago. My sis had several hosp visits due to heart issues. She ended up having open heart surgery. The hospital was lovely. Care was great. Pt care room was huge. I was used to tight icu cubicles. She had complications, day 4 the social worker came to tell her she was being discharged the next day. Her insurance had run out. There was no further coverage!!! She was in her 80’s had just had a stent blow thru her R coronary artery 5 days earlier then have bypass surgery and had just come off a ventilator the day before. I had to get back to Canada the next day. Thankfully, the social worker was able to continue working to find respite care at a nursing home for her for a couple more wks. \n\nI love certain parts of the states having spent a majority of my childhood visiting since my big sister moved there. Both countries are having issues now. Housing sucks in canada. If you aren’t doing well financially, canada isn’t all that great anymore either.

I am a born and raised Canadian and have seen my country go downhill for at least the last couple of decades.\nHealth Care: doctors and nurses are moving Stateside in droves. No, the US doesn’t have universal health care but there are insurance plans and the care is enormously better. My girlfriend had 4th stage throat cancer. In Calgary the doctors at some point told her there was nothing more they could do for her and to get her affairs in order. Her father sent her to the Anderson Clinic in Houston - yes it was expensive but they treated her, saved her life and that was 24 years ago. \nIt’s common in our emergency rooms to wait up to 12 hours to be seen. \nOur system isn’t progressive and doctors and nurses don’t get paid near as well as in the States. That being said, I am happy that I don’t have to pay to see the doctor or have a stay in the hospital. \nCost of Living: Once upon a time it was good - housing was cheap and many companies had the full range of benefits and salaries were equal to the cost of living. Now these same companies have stripped the benefits by hiring people under contract so they don’t have to give them benefits. \nRents are through the roof and in Calgary there are no rent caps. Buying a decent house in a decent neighbourhood is impossible unless you inherit or make a six figure income. This, in no small part, has created a homelessness crisis that never had been seen in such numbers before. Crime also is getting worse by the day. Canada was once known as a safe country. This is no longer the case.\nEverything is very expensive and the tax very high. Plus, we have to suffer winter! Where I live, the joke is that we have two seasons - July and winter!\nI still like my city (not love) but I am retired and own two houses - one inherited and the other bought when it was affordable (32 years ago). Calgary would not be a place I would live if I was a newcomer. Vancouver is beautiful but you really pay for it. \nTrudeau has helped make a big mess of things with immigration and lax criminal laws. My beef is not with immigrants I must state - it is with the lack of jobs for them when they come, thereby forcing bad living conditions and an over reliance on the social systems. I add that the immigration population is much more willing to work in jobs they have to take (despite a high education) than our natural and bloated citizens.\nSo yes, Canada has increasingly gone downhill. On a positive note, hand guns at least are not legal and our country has beautiful natural land.

Our taxes are far too high and all you see now is a deteriorating society with a heavily burdened middle class sinking into poverty. What we're left with has to pay for unaffordable housing, a soaring cost of living and a tanking health care system. I can see why the birth rate is dropping like a stone. There's no money left over to support a family.

One little advice, please take a shower, every where this people smells really bad, if you are here in Canada at least be clean don't throw garbage in the streets, educate yourself, its the same people everywhere with this smelly odor of your sweat its disgusting, its not complicated if you can aford to buy an iphone or a luxury car or even a house, then you can go to shower water is free and soap cost 1-2 $ also brush your teeths, its not an myth that here in canada didnt care about how you smell its common sense

56 years in Canada, live on the west coast the best part of Canada. I would move to the USA in a heartbeat. It is a better nation, more prosperous and affordable. I live in Arizona in winter, love it a LOT. It is generally friendlier when I am in the US than in west coast Canada which is more reserved with less sense of humour (but Ontario and east coast have legendary senses of humour). Health care is scary bad in Canada, a much better value in the US even though it costs more.

The healthcare system in Canada is horrible. It is almost impossible to find a good family doctor that will provide you with even decent medical care. If you need surgery in a hospital the wait is often many months in most cases. The taxes in this country are very high and will keep going up as our government debt goes up. The cost of living in this country is also very high with no end in sight. It is almost impossible for younger people to buy their own home. In a nutshell this country has gone to hell in a handbasket.

I don't get this narrative of people coming Canada make a better life for themselves. It may be true for couple years back pre-Justin Turd but most Canadians are struggling with high cost of living, not able to have a roof over their head, failed health care, exorbitant tax, zero freedom of speech, terrorist and protestors everywhere. I don't see any sane person willing to come to Canada. The only people who are coming to Canada are to illegally cross in to US. No one wants to live in Justin Turd Canadistan shitland.

A few years ago I went to university of Toronto for free dental care, cost me 350. Bucks was waste of my time and money, never in my life I though that a employee of the university believed she had more rights than I, due to loss of my job 40 years I found myself in a very shita situation. The person who worked for university though she could mistreat the Canadiana and she tried. Maybe if she spoke English she would understand she's not a Canadiana but a student on visa. To much much rights given to these students who actually believe they are better than the Canadiana. Go home get your education in your own country. Big problem it's government who many don't speak English and they actually believe that they have more rights than you. University of Toronto its very old and dirty with old teachers especially the one old farts with dementia and colored hair black who don't care about the students education. Old farts.

The Houthi have been making it hard to traverse the Red Sea which is forcing shipping to travel around Africa rather than directly through the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean Sea meaning those additional fuel costs get transferred over to the consumer. As for housing, while efforts to cool housing markets have been made, Canada's housing market is still relatively hot meaning the prices remain high in big cities. Its like a perfect storm. Increased costs on mortgages are an attempt to push down inflation but in the short term you are going to feel that as well. Also we are living in a transition period as the world sinks back to the older model of trade before before Bretton Woods in 1947 which is leading to a decoupling of product lines that at one time coming from Asia were cheap but are not more expensive because they are being made back in the home countries. Transitions do come with a price. Finally, add taxes which help to deal with health care, social programs and government services like embassies, foreign missions and the army well yeah its a perfect storm.\n\nI hope you have luck where you end up but do not for a minute assume that the grass is greener on the other side. Even Japan which attempts to keep certain costs low, has been forced to increase its national consumption taxes to offset overall costs. It isn't going to get cheaper but more expensive as we move back to the old trade model. However, as the world weans itself off of the World Trade Organization and the IMF, the world also re-opens the potential to a Great Depression because that was the reason Bretton Woods appeared in the first place. I live in Canada, all these problems are true and also health care system is not that good and high taxes…..However, life feels secured as food, environment and roads quality is AAA grade. You can actually achieve dreams as jobs pay good, even though you can to spend in dollars but remember macbook will cost 1.25 lakh and $2000 in Canada but there is huge difference in income, same goes for cars which translates that normal middle class family can have cars like Mercedes, audi and BMW which is not achievable in India. It’s safe country you can have whatever opinions you want, women can dress whatever they want and go out anytime without being worried. By considering all those things i decided to surrender my indian passport and got Canadian one.

When you flood a country with low wage workers this suppresses wages for ALL CITIZENS who aren't rich in the country while at the same time driving up housing costs which are already in short supply. For some history: The previous two governments only hit 20-25% of their stated immigration goals, and were heavily criticized by the provincial governments and business community for it. The current government actually achieved the immigration targets that business and the provinces were demanding. Most of the provincial governments are boasting about how much their populations have grown, and are taking credit for it, but blaming the federal government for the problems the increased population has caused. It is the provinces that have failed to grow health care, education and other services to match the increased population that they asked for, and it is the provinces that haven't increased minimum wages to match the increased cost of living, and it is the provinces that are responsible for housing.

Vancouver is expensive but these figures are way off. The average one-bedroom is $2,150, not $3,000. Actually, a two bedroom in Vancouver is less than $3,000 and cheaper in the suburbs. However, it is expensive for untilities and apartments are tough to find in Vancouver. In addition, this video reports money laundering at an all time high but that is old news. New laws and restrictions have significantly reduced or eliminated money laundering in Canadian casinos. There is also some very questionable comparisons here about cellphone service costs. I too will be gone from Canada soon. I loved Canada growing up. Now, not so much. Freezing cold, stupid cost of living, taxes through the roof, too much immigration when we can`t even take care of our own, homelessness and unaffordable housing. And i have a house, 37 year government job, single with no kids, retiring next year.....And i`m still leaving.

I feel bad for those who were duped into coming here to Canada. They had big dreams of becoming successful here, instead not being able to do that and being forced to live in cramped accommodations. I work in healthcare, and a lot of people who work in the facility in which I'm employed were brought here from the Philippines and India, mostly. Some were hired directly by this employer, while others came here some other way. Those with professions like being an RN were under the impression that it wouldn't take that long or be that difficult to get their Canadian certification to work as RNs here. Instead, they found out that the process for that here in Canada is a lot tougher and takes a lot longer than they'd been led to believe. So many are left not being able to use their education to its fullest, instead working as care aides until they can get the proper certification. I know that this has also happened with doctors and engineers and to many in other professions for which they went to school for years. It's a real shame.\n\nThis massive influx of people coming from other countries, though, has been really tough on those of us who were already living here. It's been way too many people, and we just weren't prepared. It's been one of the biggest factors in the huge increase of cost of living and, of course, it's by far the reason we have an enormous housing shortage.\n\nI'm not completely anti-immigration, but I think that it needs to be stopped, at least for a while. Let us deal with what's going on now instead of bringing in more people that would only help to make things worse, through no fault of their own. did you know that you get a pension till the day you die for being employed as a Politian for only 4 years. and now they have just changed the money of the pension to 85% of the total wages based on the maximum earnings and it is now floating to what the current wage is. So if you retired a Politian 40 years ago and made it that 4 long years to retirement and your wage was 200k per year, you get 170k per year till the day you die, and when the current wage of the Politian goes up, they bump your pension up. That was a new bill that was passed last year. so glad we get to hear about the 1 billion per year that the CBC gets. Anyone care to take a guess at what that revolving 4 year retirement pension plan is costing the Canadian Tax payers? My guess is about 60 billion per year so far.
