From Poland. Arrived yo Canada at the end of 2020. I am nearing my 4th year here, in a small village. I arrived with my 6-year-old daughter to begin my writing career. Now, 40% of my daughter's childhood has been spent here and I I go to court soon to fight for my child to be returned home to me. After nearly one year- a year of financial hardship because I have to travel without a driver's license and without a group of friends to drive me- I have my very first hearing with a judge in Youth Court in a matter that has no foundation to begin with, follows no rule of law, and acts arbitrarily. My child whom I homeschooled to the praise of the provincial ministry of education and was following a classical liberal arts education path that had her outpacing students in the province was entrusted to the care of a Child Services company (that has a record of placements that have resulted in child murders). My child's life has been irrevocably upset to say the least. NO ONE LEAVING CANADA GIVES THIS STORY AS A RESON FOR QUITTING THIS COUNTRY. I guess no Canadians care about their children like I do my precious gift from God. True, O come from the former Soviet Union where Marshal Law (Emergency Measures Act) were commonplace. I lived through two in Canada in 4 years: one Federal, and one through Provincial Youth Court where I await my turn to see a judge after my daughter was removed from my care. Germany is enroute, but I'd say Germany has a slightly more right to do this since they didnt charge tuition fees for a looooong time. The taxpayers paid the fees. But when the students turned into taxpayers, we have paid a lot for the economy as well making sure the homeless, and unemployed germans get home and money per month. Students who have a CRS score 500+ struggle to make a living while your government provides easy immigration by asylum to people who themselves burned their countries down. There IS NOT a lack of housing in canada , there IS ONLY an affordability problem along with far too much immigration by volume and time frame . Our services and infrastructure (ie; transit services , health care , employment , realisticly affordable housing , finances , etc .) are no where near adequate to accomodate canadians even before the over populating of foreigners . They have been coming here and buying up all the affordable housing during , and post pandemic , with offers far above listed or fair market values , to push owners to sell without question or thought . Following this they stack multiples into these homes illegally and against code , to be able to take up all employment at wages that canadians can't survive on ,forcing them out of employment , homes or both . Once stable and trained to know that business operation , one of their people buy the business and no longer hire any canadians . YES ! TRUE FACT!! How is this accepted ? I just watched a bus get dropped off at an immigration visa service place by my kids school. Follow the money and see the problem b who’s making money off of people from conflict countries who would do anything for a change of location. I’ll bet that organization making 10k a head so dam right there’s incentive for them to operate. Upsettingly enough they usually aren’t originally from here and therefore even more capital leaving the country under the guise of “helping” is it safe here , for now, but the only jobs available are minimum wage fast food or entry level positions. So only come to Canada if you’re good with paying more for less and then getting taxed significantly.

Truth! The majority of Indian students came to work and not study. Why? Many had borrowed money to come or had their parents borrow large amounts of money because of the financial pressures. Many became Uber drivers adn working more than the 20 hr limit per week under the table. What is Canada going to do with one million foreign students. If you actually did study and graduate then you have a good education to go home with. I’m Indian and I will be damned if I say I agree with you. This shouldn’t be allowed. Follow the rules. This mob culture has to stop. I work my ass off and I can’t get by. My industry went on a strike for a year and I couldn’t get a survival job. These students can move from one province to another any time they want. How is this possible. Isn’t there any law to prevent them moving from the place they came to “study” in the first place and move to another location just for PR? I waited two years to get my police verification done from all the countries I worked before my immigration application got approved. These days it’s like the immigration ministry is handing over permanent residency like candies. More over if I go to a shop ask for help I get answers in a language I don’t speak or follow. Why are we allowing this? Why can’t these guys speak English or French? Why am forced to learn Punjabi? If these guys want to create a ghetto for themselves why are they doing it here? Who’s allowing all this? What’s happening to those English language tests? I don’t care if they fulfill any of those departments that require eligible workers. As a migrant to Canada my wife and I were required to meet the criteria that included; having relevant qualifications and work experience, money to support ourselves and three children, fluent in English &/or French (actually asked this as proof), medically fit and no criminal record, plus around $5000 landing fee. Within two days of landing I secured a job working for an electrical contractor. \n\nIf you want to come to Canada follow the process and meet the criteria. It’s only fair to those that will qualify and in the future.

Most of what was reported here is true but the housing market and rents have skyrocketed all over the world since the Chinese government F'd everyone with Covid-19. At first there were supply chain issues with all goods so businesses said we have to increase prices. Once supply issues were back to pre-Covid-19 levels businesses did not & will not lower their prices on goods because , we as a society do not take matters into our own hands and boycott products\\company's etc. Now obviously we cannot boycott all goods & services but the majority we could and that is the only thing that would cause action among companies to lower bank fees, fast food prices, grocery prices, cell plan costs etc.\n\nWith that said, you picked two of the highest and most sought after city's in CAN to rent & or try to buy a home. Although rent & home prices have really jumped all over the world in the past 3-4 years, more affordable (still not cheap) housing, compared to Toronto, Vancouver, can be found all across CAN. My sister & brother in law found an apartment to rent in Winnipeg without any difficulty or waiting. \nThey are immigrants and entered on her student Visa & he is a computer programmer. They are not struggling to eat but they have to follow a tight budget since she cannot work but 20 hours a week as a student and they have 1 kid, a car payment,utilities, cell plan, etc. They have filed for their PR and I suspect they will be approved since his job is in demand and she will graduate from College there in 4 months or so.\n\nOne thing I noticed, when my wife & I went up to get them settled in, is that the government (national & local) taxes you all pay out of the wazzoo on everything! I think the only thing that wasn't taxed was air. ? I know most of this is due to the healthcare system, because the money has to come from somewhere. Don't misunderstand, I like the CAN healthcare system better than the US's, because the insurance companies stick it to us as well, but both have their pluses and minuses.\n\nCAN does have a much easier system for immigration. If my sister & bro in law could have come here we would have been glad for them to stay with us and help them get started but the backlog is just so long to wait (10 + years). KIRPA +AAN means to do a sacrifice while protecting someone else , when they r in danger to protect their aan(respect) u have to do kirpa (service) ..so to protect someone else respect nd life u have to do a service nd have to sacrifice urself for their protection bcz that is the duty of a baptised sikh to use that kirpan while saving their dignity nd respect nd life nd if any sikh die whilst doinf that then he/she should die but save the people in danger , ..so ,,,guru ji gave this kirpan not to use it for ur own protection but for protection of others by sikhs and kirpan meaning depicts that also that is why kirpan was given not any sword like talvar bcz talvar tal +var tal means to protect ur own lifeline or dignity nd empire etc, var means to attack so talvar is to protect urself ..talvar means -to attack to save urself ..so,guru ji gave khalsa a kirpan for a reason not talvar ..to save people in danger ..and hindus know everything about sikhism nd even than many of them r commenting against this but some foreigners from usa ,uk r commenting in favour of sikhs that shows their respect nd level of understanding ..nd when \n ur own people r not supporting you but people of other religions nd nations r supporting you ....and in 1699 khalsa was made nd frm then to till now baptised sikhs r wearing kirpan ,but not even a single incident of missusing kirpan is their ..not even a single incident of sikh using kirpan for attacking others has been recorded ...bcz sikhs use kirpan only to protect the lives of others ..and for those who r saying that we will also carry guns nd north korea bombs if sikhs can carry kirpan ..their is a difference between 3 inch small blade and a gun nd a bomb ...and if ur elders have given martyrdom like sri guru Teg bahadar ji and bhai mani singh ji and have given you the right to keep the guns and bombs ,then you keep the guns nd bombs ..sri guru teg bahadar ji ne shahedi di for hindua but aaj k hindua comment kr rha h against sikh gurus bcz commenting kirpan is same as commenting against gurus bcz una ne he aa rules bnaye h ..but thanks to those foreigners who r trusting us sikhs thanks for understanding ..hindua were supposed to help nd support sikhs as they promised in 1947 but .

1-Canadian government is not taking any student and temporary workers from India so chill.\n2-Brampton people are mostly punjabis,don’t judge a whole country by one community.\n3-there are lots of churches in India too so don’t feel bad for that statue.Hindu people don’t force their religion on anyone because Hinduism believe in every religion.\n4-Indians are following western culture even in India.\n5-There are lots of refugees who are doing nothing and enjoying taxes benefits \n6-There were lots of fake colleges in GTA who were making money from Indian students that’s why they are doing so much work in tummies and Walmart because they don’t have any college and degrees.some of are going back so be happy.\n7-Everyone is depressed now these days because of inflation.It’s not easy for them to stay away from family and doing lots of struggle you don’t know even.

I once worked in immigration.... follow the $$$$. Whoever has the money gets the visa -- gets the Uni placement -- gets the real estate -- gets the votes etc. Not a far stretch. \nImagine, Canada won't be a desired destination soon !!

My family and I migrated to Canada in the 90’s. I order to migrate I was told that I must be able to speak one of two languages, either English or French. I guess this is not so anymore. Follow the money that people pay to come to Canada and you will be able to figure out why Brampton is in this situation.

Great report Harrison, I think you should do a follow up story on how much money and incentives are being given by our federal government to these immigrants. I’m not against some immigration, however it’s wrong when you are openly letting Canadians down and, let’s face it, “buying” votes from immigrants by giving a lot of money to come here. There are so many facets to this type of story it’s almost a tin foil hat event. Drug the white Canadians, make them feel unwanted, offer the M.A.I.D program to the down and out, white drug addicted Canadians. It’s a deep rabbit hole.
