I think, in our (or some people's) pursuit of being a diverse, accepting, and "multicultural" nation, we've actively turned a blind eye to what these individual groups were doing for fear of being labeled discriminatory. Then, when stuff hits the fan, everyone looks to Canada to blame. Bad if you do, bad if you don't. Sad times 😔

See the issue with multi culturalism is that “like people” tend to stick with “like people”. It’s human nature… for instance, when I go to school or the break room- I sit with my friends. I interact with, socialize outside of the current setting - because that’s where we are comfortable. Everyone in life chooses to be comfortable, as it’s better. When we mass immigrate (especially from one country) we can’t be surprised that this happens. Of course Indian people do business, socialize, real estate, etc… with other Indian people. It’s what they are comfortable with. I think mass immigration is an awful idea and a culture that doesn’t encourage assimilation and chooses multi culturalism will find that it’ll no longer be multicultural- as the new dominate culture in Canada will be Punjabi.

Canada has open door policy and keeps taking all sorts of people from all parts of world without verification, checks and balances. Those outsiders are infiltrating your politics, academia, judiciary, pop culture and start influencing your domestic and foreign policy, start electing own people, take over your country and bring their culture, domestic conflicts, religious extremism, communalism, misogyny, lack of hygiene, lawlessness in your country also. As someone who is born in Canada as an Indian. This is absolutely sad to here. I want the best for Canadians who are born and raised here. I have 10 years of experience working in the nation I was raised and I am having some people have my job who aren't even fit for the job. It makes no sense to me. Our wages have stalled due to international students for a better life, but at the end I want money just like other Canadians who have been here for ages. Also we need to end why our government allows lucrative hiring contracts overseas for cheaper positions in certain degrees and diplomas. In addition, why are all of our call centers placed all over the world. From Africa, south east Asia, South Asia. Those jobs can be available here. We can have a decomcratic country if our country didn't care about just "growth" we didn't need more immigration. We needed systematic change in government, schools, common sense, I could go on. I think us as Canadians don't know how corrupt the world really is. Look at other countries and how they work. It's lucrative essentives to benefit only certain people. I would rather have our tax payer money be used to fix the system. My dad's been here since the 1980s and he is sad for everyone. This is a loss on both ends. We didn't create new universities, new highways to support the population, no hospitals, new schools. I remember when my class sizes were 18 to 20 kids. We need change, not radical because we were never that. Let's do what we do best and be Canadians for us first.

This is terrible and I don't understand why the government would only take Indian students about 90% of the international students were from India and uneducated and non-verified credentials. Thank you for this report on Brampton. For context, I am a 4th generation Canadian, my ancestors immigrated here a few years prior to confederation in 1867. I have worked in the tool and die industry for decades and many of my associates work for or manage tool and die businesses in Brampton. Everyone in Brampton knows what is changing there. When I try to explain to my friends that what is happening in Brampton is not balanced, they do not understand, they think I am a racist. I told them that my Indian friends in Brampton feel the same way I do. They look at me like a deer in the headlights. Nothing has turned me against a politician so vehemently as Justin Trudeau's management of immigration. The man had no idea how to effectively manage immigration in a way which would integrate people into a culture and society such as Canada. That certainly is not creating a microcosm of one nation in a city.

I live in Brampton, i am all for diversity but where is the diversity if everyone is Indian. I am French originally and i am in a minority of one! Let's be clear, the massive Indian increase in the population is due to Trudeau's immigration policy, the indians did not jump over the border as some of the comments suggest, they mostly came here legally, and this was done without broad agreement of the Canadian population as a whole. Canadian population went from being 30 million inhabitants to 40 millions in just over a decade, a massive population increase in a short time due mostly to Indian immigration with huge impact on housing , cost of housing, infrastructure, jobs, taxes, etc... The liberals have a lot to answer for the disaster which Canada has become in the last 10 years and yes they got rid off Trudeau, but they are still in power, stiffling the potential economic growth of Canada which should be a rich country instead of being a country where many people live from pay cheques to pay cheques.

I work in a typical corporate environment, where all conversations are filtered through a layer of professionalism, and just the other day my director made a joke about how he's glad we don't have Indians on our team. Accountability should fall on the Government of Canada. They stopped screening properly. There used to be a point system that determined who could immigrate, and it actually worked. I’m of Pakistani descent, born and raised here, and when I’m in Brampton and walk into a Circle K, people start speaking to me in Hindi or Punjabi right away — it’s a trip. At the same time, I’m not saying everyone coming is bad. A lot of international students and new immigrants are hardworking people who want to build a better life. But plenty are also gaming the system. The real issue is that Canada messed up by letting in too many at once, with no structure to help them assimilate. When there’s no integration, no surprise people just act like they’re back home.

This is what happens when you only interview old, white boomers. I was just in Brampton for my cousins wedding (they’re Indian). The wedding had tons of young white, Indian, Asian, etc. people. Everyone was having a good time and having fun. Old people don’t change, young people adapt and live. For what it’s worth, Brampton was bustling, growing, and there was construction everywhere. It felt safer and definately was cleaner than any size city like that in the US. All the Indians I know there (my extended family) are engineers, lawyers, finance types, and doctors. One of my uncles got the Order of Canada - he lives in downtown Toronto though, very wealthy cardiologist now.

The point he missed was the quality of life is higher in Canada, In India it's way easier, the cost of living is way cheaper, there's tons of cheap labour to hire maids for all your house work for example which is common in their culture, but as you've probably seen online, India isn't the cleanest or friendliest place to be, and if he was a nurse in India he would probably be broke without a good job, and having the opportunity to find good high paying jobs in something that Canadians also do when they travel to the US if a position in their field isn't available in whatever local city they grew up in. The main issue stems from international students from like after covid, regardless of country, India is in the spotlight because there's just more indians compared to other countries international students but its all the same stuff, you have kids from all over the world that might not have learned the same cultural practices, fresh 16-18 year olds living alone for the first time that have to do all their own chores and don't even know how to take care of themselves in some cases or do laundry or anything like that and it doesn't mean they were illegal immigrants or anything, just that they never put in the effort to learn because they were too entitled, its the same with entitled kids that go to Korea or Japan from north America as well that don't learn their culture and customs and misbehave because they are too entitled, and once you understand that you can see the bigger picture more clearly instead of just defaulting to racism. Also I'm not saying they can't be frustrated, its frustrating for everyone, even for me but racism isn't the answer.

For example, the rise in homelessness is tied more to social and economic issues than to immigration. Family structures among white Canadians are becoming less central in people’s lives, and religion is also losing influence. Parenting values are often shaped by fleeting psychology trends and “helicopter parenting,” leaving many children without the strong foundation they need. Perhaps there is something to learn from Indian immigrants about building families, fostering strong connections, and strengthening community ties. Thank you.

You know, Brampton even before trudeau was becoming basically little India, and most Canadians just said whatever let them have it, we kinda accepted it. But after trudeau with mass immigration and them taking over other cities its when it became a little too much and started to take over canadian culture. I had a friend visit from the u.s for the very first time, and we did some sight seeing, you know going to places around ontario that tourists would check out, went to niagra falls for the first time in maybe 10 years man it changed. It was 90% Indian people. She noticed it right away but didnt say anything, i said a lot of indians huh? and she said yeah didnt think canada was like this. When you think Canada its always been mulicultural, you just think of all ethnicities and people of different cultures but at the end of the day everyone was Canadian and they assimilated. Now you dont think of a multicultural country you think of an indian country thats changing the canadian culture and way of life and not in a good way. Identity is being taken away and it needs to stop. Canada needs to take notes from Poland before its too late. Poland closed their doors and guess what? economy went up, crime rate went down, people are happier. Canada opened the doors, crime rate shot up, economy crashing, more homelessness then ever and so on. The motives of this look racist because when you try hiring white folks the retention rate is extremely low, these past 6 months I have seen 8 employees in managerial positions who quit less than 2 weeks and it's impossible to retain them no matter what salary you offer and then when you go hire an Indian they just don't quit and work harder. But again that's an anecdote, that doesn't mean white folks don't work hard. Everyone has different experiences so stop, putting half baked stuff out on the internet and stop embarrassing yourself. How about the Emigration problem? Immigration from another country is one thing; Losing a worker to Emigration is another. This is what happened in the Netherlands: After the war, there was massive unemployment. (since not everyone is fit to work in construction) So we sent 5% of the country away, mostly to Canada. Most everyone who emigrated was fit and of working age. A lot of them where farmers. Twenty years later there was a massive labour shortage. Our country needed fit men of working age. I request the people in all the developed countries of the world to make extremely tough emigration laws, so that the people who are legally acquiring citizenship of your country are not dependent on the taxes paid by the original residents of those countries. On paper, Canada has been great for this land the Native Americans called Turtle Island. A huge new country sprang out of nothing, adding trillions of dollars to the economy. But the question I and all the natives before the white men came there kept asking was this. Why? After visiting, I have no answer. So sorry to say, you are hard hardcore racist. Try to make a video where everyone are French, Itailina or what have you. . There are plenty of places like that. The problem is they look white.

This documentary starts on a very partisan note, but it doesn't end on one. I don't speak for all Hindus, but when I lived in Australia, my values told me to integrate and treat everyone equal. Now I am back living in India with a global perspective and renewed respect for world cultures. Yes, Canada has had a lot on unchecked unskilled immigration which is bound to cause issues- but I'd like to believe, and my Hindu faith teaches me, that people are inherently good.

I grew up in Brampton and I immigrated from India in the early 2000s, one thing that's not mentioned is the recent (2024) riots between Sikhs and Hindus. When I was growing up in Brampton, I had friends who were Sikhs, Pakistani Muslims, Chinese Christians, Hindus, Black, and White. The Sikh seniors used to say good morning to us on the morning walks to school and everyone got along because we accepted that bringing the racial/ethnic conflict from India to Canada was wrong. Recently, there have been tensions, fights, riots, and clashes between Hindu and Sikh Nationalists because the government is not actively filtering for quality immigrants anymore and the people being lured to this country are the ones who can't understand that this is wrong. This would have been unheard of 10 years ago.

Every one of you in Canada is an immigrant or descendant of an immigrant, so please don’t do to each other what they did to your grandfathers and grandmothers! Put yourself in the place of the person who just arrived and feel how much they are suffering to start a new life, find a new place, find furniture, change career and look for a new job, get the cultural shock and cold weather shock and learn how to survive the cold winter and learn a new language, and make new contacts, new friends and new families maybe… too much to handle while you are not giving a fuck about all his struggles but pushing him to change his culture automatically like if it’s magic and at the same time he is not aware why on earth is everyone against his religion or accent or way of thinking and your rejections towards them by showing clearly your attack towards them here online without shame! Those people who are escaping from wars or genocides or poverty to find a better opportunity to be able to feed their families abroad, you have no consideration for what brought them here or what they had endured and you want to let them endure more above their struggle to survive all the inconvenience in a capitalist frozen country! Please try to be nice to each other and teach one another how to live respecting one another boundaries and culture! a country with many nationalities is multicultural and multiculturalisme can’t exist with racism and discrimination. Keep the multiculturalism with the nice picture it holds which keep the country warm and colourful. Live in peace and love❤

My family immigrated during the war, my grandmother came here after escaping a concentration camp when she was a little girl, her and my mother taught me to appreciate what we have, because it was worked hard for, they worked hard to make a living and a future for their families, they were given money by family that was here and paid back every, single, cent, it wasn't just given to them for free by the government while the rest of the people here suffer, so many of the people are brought here and given everything, it's like people have never heard the phrase "Give a man to fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, he eats for life." the problem is that they keep giving them fish, so now they expect it so much they damn near demand it... it sickens me. I'm a student right now, 15 years ago it felt like I lived in my home, proudly in Canada, with all kinds of people... now, I go to class, and I feel like I live on a different planet, everyone looks the same, with a hint of variety... American complain that they don't see White people much anymore, I complain because I only see ONE type of person now... nobody else...

As an immigrant who came to this country & fell in love with its culture 40 years ago, it's appalling to see how our beautiful first world country is quickly becoming a gutter. The newcomers these days are the privileged ones. All of us need to speak up, especially those of us immigrants who retain our original accents &/ non-white because our white fellow Canadians are accused of being racist whenever they do (though many could learn to be more eloquent. ie. go back to your country does NOT help)! I see it as my Canadian duty to remind "misbehaving" newcomers the reason they left their country in the first place. ie. You chose Canada for a better life, so why try to change it into the one you left? ie. Help me understand your logic? Why not leave your hate & war at the border; just like normal folks won't bring stinky garbage into their new homes. Life is challenging enough when you uprooted to a new country (especially our unforgiving cold Winter). So, just focus on the positive things in your new country & leave all your miseries behind... ie. Learn to adapt & enjoy your new country. Canada is a great country because of the love & effort of those before you, so now you are the beneficiary. Join the legacy by enhancing this beautiful country & its culture, so you can pass on this century old legacy for later newcomers to enjoy, like you do now. What dignity do you have & what kind of life lessons to your children by bullying your culture & religion into Canada at the expense of other Canadians? This will fracture Canada if everyone does that. Do you want this country to become so fractured & terrible that your descendants have to leave for a better country, like you did? Is that what your religion teaches you? Does it state it's perfectly fine to satisfy all your whims & wishes at the expense of others? Are you striving for Canadians to think badly of your race/culture? Are you being a good ambassador to your race/community/culture/religion? Canadians are so friendly & helpful, if you need help, just ask, please don't demand. Learn the language & it's ok to speak broken/pigeon English with gestures to communicate. No one expects you to be an English scholar; you gain respect for trying. Apply some basic Canadians manners, which goes a long way... Please & Thank You, Smile doesn't cost you anything, besides it's good exercise for your facial muscles. I worked my entire career with the public, I very seldom encounter negative feedback when I do the above. If they get nasty, I tell them that's definitely not the Canadian way to make friends & wish them Good Luck! I also make a point in telling the wealthy ones "Tax Avoidance is legal (I'm more than happy to show them), but Tax Evasion is not! Then reminding them....Canada will be bankrupt eventually if everyone don't pay their fair share of taxes. ie. You may not suffer, but your children/grandchildren will. Worst Case scenario, you didn't get the necessary medical care when you most needed it!!! We should lobby for a mandatory course that all newcomers have to take & PASS a test about Canadian culture & expectations. If they fail, no citizenship for sure! But that would be another hornets nest because our parliament will debate over definition of "Canadian Culture" for decades. Welcome to Canada!😂
