I absolutely LOVE what that woman wrote and read to us. She is absolutely correct. I feel the very same way and I'm sure many Canadians do as well. I'm also tired of walking on eggshells while watching everything I love disappear to make way for an entirely different culture, especially one that is completely incompatible with the Canadian values and freedoms I grew up with.

About time Justin grew a set of balls.

You knew he has a penchant to be an autocrat, like his friend in North Korea and the other ghastly dictator in Russia. You knew his intentions on the world stage. And you knew Trump’s mind has failed. Still, most of you actively chose to reinstall that monster in your highest office. You have replaced the king your forefathers fought, killed and died to remove from ruling the new territories that were to be created to be free of dictatorial power - something your grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters, and your own good selves have killed and died to protect! Still, most of you chose to put this poor imitation of a man into your presidency. Soon you will look around and realise you are losing serious respect and dignity, allies and meaningful friends. And you will have done this to yourselves.

Hold on there, boy, questionable, immigration policies. Both Canada and the United States were built on immigration, unless you are part of the first nations these types of inflammatory statements, are historically illogical. Countries like the United States of America, Canada, and Australia, New Zealand, and many parts of South America all grew with immigration. People in these countries that have been around a generation or more who decide to pull up the ladder have short memories from where they came. Regarding housing, it is always been and issue in many places and is affected by foreign investors and interest rates. Usually at some point there is a correction, some people win some people lose.

I love the country I grew up in ??, and I am worried about the country I raise my family in now ??. God, PLEASE help us, our leaders won’t.

This is not anti-American, it is just fighting back from an unnecessary trade war. It does however break my heart because many Canadians have family on the U.S. side. I know it would also break my father’s heart as he grew up in New England and had a lifetime affection for the U.S. I despise politics and have not been a proud Canadian for a few years but I have to admit that this speech is getting me going again. Canada needs to get its act together and rebuild its military, not to fend off the U.S. but to hold its own should other countries decide we are ripe for the picking. I want U.S.-Canada relations to be tight again. We’re neighbor. We will have our disagreements and that’s fine but these trade wars will hurt everyone and, if it lasts, may leave lasting grievances.

I grew up 30 min from the Canadian border. Canada has always been a neighbor and a friend. I cannot believe what has happened to our government and I did not vote for this. The majority of America does not want this and do not want Trump. Please know that.

I know I will get attacked in the comments for this, but I grew up in the US watched many presidents come and go, and I have never seen the country that I live in turn so corrupt and evil in my life we have been lied to by our president. A man I did not vote for and it almost feels like it is turning into a fascist regime. From an assumption that these and future tariffs will positively harm the US economy, just where does Trump go when the shit hits the fan (as it pretty much already has done)? I suspect that he will sack key members of his cabinet, effectively blaming them for this shift show, to try to save face. If the GOP ever grew a pair I can see impeachment in the works on the grounds of real and present harm to the US.

The speech of Mr Trudeau, the way Canadians have shown solidarity for one another, today it all puts my country, The US, to shame. I am ashamed of what my government is doing and I am disgusted with the people doing it. In Mr Trump’s first term, as eclipsed as they were by the many many many actions and attitudes he imposed on us that embarrassed and hurt us as a country, there was the rare occasional decision I could at least understand even if I did not support it. Since taking office literally not one thing he has done has made sense to me as an American. I can only say how sorry I am for what the country I love is being used to do to you all, especially our closest allies and friends and in particular the people of Canada today. I grew up in Commerce Twp Michigan. I visited Canada regularly and, even as crime from Detroit poured across the border into Canada, Canadians always treated us with respect and welcome. I never imagined that would stop but now I find it hard to imagine how it might continue and it breaks my heart.

If Trudeau had been strong and forceful on all our problems in the last 5 years, he would still be Prime Minister. i think he got caught up in his own self importance, instead of running our country for the good of it's people.
