mean while my sixty year old english wife was refused entry because she hadn't filled out a new online form. She was crossing legal as we have done 10 or so times. Since the border is so vast, the method of deterrence has to be based on psychology. If the penalty for crossing the order illegally is horrendous, they will stop attempting to cross. Possible penalties:\n\n1. Automatic 2-10 years hard labor in confinement with no possibility of parole. No possibility of ever entering the US again legally after release, even as a tourist. Conditions of confinement must be necessarily strict and without recreational activities. \n2.
