So, everyone's favorite leader of Canada failed negotiations with Trump and decided to go public by putting pressure on the American people who are paying for the whole buffet. Since when did politics and diplomacy become such an ugly mess?

I don't care what side of the fence you sit on. I did not need to hear this man speak to already know Canada was, but may yet be, our greatest ally and trading partner. I have no idea what possessed Mr. Trump to decide to stab our allies in the back, but it was not something good. 27.5% of voting age adults voted for him. How many of them were serenaded by hollow promises and a good slogan. Perhaps all of the mud slinging and Russian media interference helped? If you add in our more studious teenagers, truly reformed felons, and immigrants who actually deserve a gold card, that number plummets to less than 25%. I won't ask people to wake up, if you are reading this you are already more than capable of finding out that I speak only the hard truth. This means less than a quarter of america wanted this. This means your vote and opinions DO count. I know it is incredibly difficult to reach for and find answers in a world where your president or primary candidate throws 'fake news' in your face on a regular basis. He is actually telling the truth. When he is not telling you is that he is a primary enabler of 'fake news'. To him, only his word is law, only his opinion matters, only he deserves to be on top, and he deserves authority over all of your lives. Do the right thing, we all have a civil duty to understand our candidates to the very best of our ability. When a man has been convicted of dozens of felonies, and we tell you that this is only what we were willing to expose. You may want start believing us. The genuine facts of his past are unilaterally corrupting to our children and good people alike. Do not let the american people repeat their mistakes, force Mr. Trump to atone for his mistakes. No not empower him to sweep them under the rug for the sake of his own arrogance, because that is exactly what he is doing by trying to dismantle the CIA and FBI. These two institutions are shining examples of America's pursuit of freedom and justice. Freedom to keep billionaires from corrupting the morals of our children. Freedom to know that the rule of law is immutable, our constitution is not just a paper with fancy traditional sentiment. Even if the law may sometimes be bent for the sake of decency, forgiveness, and the pursuit of 'united we stand', our constitution cannot. Amendments require the FULL support of nearly all Americans, not 27.5% of unrestricted adults.

I am an American and Canadian. I live in America. It is INSANE to me that (from what I hear) people dislike Trudeau enough for him to resign, yet I see him here acting respectfully, intelligently, honorably. This is what a good country has reasonably decided to be a bad politician.\n\nPan over to America, and our man in office is egotistical, irrational, dishonorable. I canceled our familly trip to US because of risks caused by erratic administration that can decide any dumb thing at any time thus jeopardizing our tour and money. One of our son is deeply disapointed but he understood that risk is way too high right now. We will redirect to a EU member state for better security ? Unless the current administration return to business as usual, there is no point into changing mind for the next four years... Way too risky?

I’m an Indigenous American here, I say if Canada was really our friend then they would understand that they have been taking advantage of our countries kindness for too long and it’s time they step up.. I am a canadian and half my family live in the US... we are not enemies but I am not alone in fearing what America is becoming and the direction it is taking in trade , geo politics and governing philosophy. \nthe people behind project 2025 are not rational old conservatives harking back to a by gone era, they are christian fundementalists enacting a plan to bring about the transformation of the US into a full blown christian theocracy. As a European I stand with Canada. I lived in the Us and many Americans are wonderful. However this administration has lost its values and soul. Canada and the E.U should work together closely. And why not join the E.U? Our values are the same. And We must be united against he great imperialists threats coming from Russia and, now, America. \nAs a consumer I decided to boycott American products whenever possible. I had planned to travel to America on vacation but I will cancel that for the next 4 years at least. I hope many will join us in the “boycott American products” movement?

So Trump invited Canada to become a member of the most successful and powerful union of sovereign states in history, something that even our own territories of Guam, Puerto Rico, and all the others do not have. An invitation to be a bona fide member. Why do you think that is? Minerals? The USA has all the minerals we need. We have more oil, coal, and natural gas than any nation also, and we can produce and refine it cheaper than any country can. So Canada was invited to become a state so Trump could peacefully eject the ChiComs from North America. And did you accept? No. Did you say no thank you? You won't believe what happened to me recently. I lost my funds and properties through a fraudulent investment, I was broke,stranded and struggling with finance. I felt like I was hitting a dead end, depressed and confused every time due to my situation. This is a move Trump himself didn't even want to take. He was forced to do so by the American energy sector. Trump wants america to become completely free of any foreign dependence. The only thing Canada has that the United States depends on is their energy for the Northern US. Trump has slashed regulations and opened land for American companies to start drilling and providing their own energy to the US. They decided against it for record profits. This will for e them to start drilling in the US by making it cheaper than getting energy from Canada. This has nothing to do with Russia. If it did, the US could get all the cheap oil and natural gas as he wants. Putin would give it to the US for free. Trump could careless about Russia or Putin. He wants american energy companys to start doing their jobs and provide energy to the american people at a reasonable cost. But all they are worried about is their record profits.
