I'm Indian but not born in India for 3 generations and even in my country, the Indian/Paki immigrants are just coming in droves. There's a distinct culture difference. It's like 10 or 15 years ago, the Indian government opened the gates and said OK, you can go now... And off they all went to every part of the world ??\nFrom a financial perspective, it's definitely not good for the economy, cos they milk the system, don't pay taxes and send money out of the country back to India.\nIndian people though are not generally dangerous though or drug dealers, definitely not like some of the black countries like Nigeria where many will go to a new country specifically to do crime. Somalian people on their other hand are family oriented and get involved in business, not crime.\nHowever, uncontrolled immigration places a huge strain on the system.\nIn this video though, why are the white people involved in drugs. That isn't really related to immigrants, is it..

Most people in the world regardless of where they live complain about the same staff, maybe in some places not about the weather. But living costs have been skyrocketing everywhere including Europe , people are unfriendly , unhappy and racist , purchasing power of currencies is falling like crazy, accommodation is unaffordable …so is there a place on earth at all where it’s ok to move to and be kinda satisfied ??? Canada or Hungary ( where I’m from) are not even the worst places, in other counties many people are literally starving .

I'm Canadian and I don't recommend coming here. I wish I stayed in Taiwan. Also, were you rejected by the US? Many people end up here if they don't get into the US. We don't have the housing, healthcare and education etc to support more immigrants. It can also be really hard in the US if you don't have a higher income and health insurance. If you have the latter, you're ok. I have retired American friends in MI with decent income and health insurance and their health care experience is good. But no health insurance in the US isn't good. Canada's public health care has long been dying. I don't know why we're taking more people in when our systems can't deal with it to begin with.

I migrated from the UK and really, things aren't much better at home. That's why i'm sticking it out. London rents are equivalent to Toronto, with a similar average salary. UK taxes also look ok on paper, but wheny you include the hidden stuff it's just as bad as canada. Healthcare also going down the gutter. The only positive the UK has over canada is food is much cheaper and if you are able to work from home, you can live away from big cities and pay much less rent. This huge difference between big cities and towns in the UK doesn't seem to be as noticeable in Canada. For an entire 3 bed house with a garden in the north of england, you could get one for $1000/month easy. But there are no job opportunities there at all, so it really is only for WFHers. But I think these issues are sweeping most of the western world... our economic models are built on infinite growth and can't deal with aging populations with an increasing tax burden.

The article claims that for decades, immigrants have fuelled Canada's ecomonic growth. Ok, but what about strengthening its culture, to ensure that in the long term, this country remains successful? No, from what i have seen, the breakneck rate of immigration has hollowed out Canada's culture. What I see around me are newcomers that are not being integrated, or that outright refuse to, or are openly hostile to the host culture. How any of these people believe that Canada can remain successful, and them also, as a result, is beyond me. To me, it seems obvious we need a pause and reset and I'm doubtful that this small decrease in applications will achieve anything.

OK hear me out, I’m a Jewish American but I have always been quite critical of Israel especially in the last 3 decades under the Likud government it’s nationalism and imperialism, with regard to its settlements and attitudes to Palestine. That said… Every time we’re close to creating good world sympathy for a Palestinian state, the power-hungry radicals of the Palestinian people always somehow ruin the progress, taking advantage of a power vacuum, and it’s stirring up the people once again that Israel Has to be destroyed off the face of the map. Then on top of that, during peaceful times with momentum for a two state solution, something always ruins it, in this case it was Hamas, seizing power over Gaza with the statement that Israel needed to be destroyed. Then Israel made sanctions to try to make that government fail, but, of course, as we know, it only starved the people and made them angrier and then they did this awful, unspeakable, brutal attack. Hamas is still attacking to this day. If Hamas wants to cease fire, they need to also stop attacking Israel and come to the table and come up with a two states solution and accept Israel. Israel is of course going too far as they often do but it’s a tough call as to what Israel should really be doing right now, while their constantly under attack and threat from their neighbors in a very active way every day.

Muslims don’t see the part they play In alienating people. Saying all these programmed phrases like alhamdulilah and the whole litany makes you sound like automatons who don’t think for yourselves. If it’s so important to you, you can be Muslim in your heart. You don’t need to be “visible Muslims“. People who love God don’t have to constantly say “praise God”. It begins to seem like an affectation and a way of making yourselves stand out. “Look at us. We are special. We are Muslims.“ If you live in a society where that is the social norm OK go for it, but that’s not the case in Canada. I’m sure you know how much Muslims have been involved in terrorism. That’s not Islamophobia. That is fact. So, that is a big part of people’s reaction to “visible Muslims“. \nThe Muslim community needs to do some serious ijtihad. I’m talking about real introspection where you honestly look at yourselves and your community. Islam is In desperate need of reform. You should be at the forefront of that, but instead you are just playing out the old program which has failed in every Muslim country. First and foremost, you are human beings. The originators of Islam had their own lives, and they created what they did. You don’t have to mimic them. Live your own lives.

Supply and demand, right?\n\nI bought a couple of condos within last 10 years. They nearly doubled in value. I'm renting them out at 2300 and 2400/mo; used to be 1500~1800 only a few years ago. They're paying for themselves and then some. It's amazing. I would hope you could find happiness in Canada. One of my concerns about living in a theocratic country would always be, is this choice really your own? Can you ever be certain, if faced with violations of your rights, that the choice is really yours? And, if not, can you consider yourselves as choosing Islam, rather than being forced into it, even if in absence of theocratic rule, you would have chosen it anyways? Maybe I’m overthinking it. I have the tendency to do that. I think if I were Muslim, I might choose Tunisia. I’ve known people from Tunisia and it sounds like they’re pretty open-minded, but still obviously predominantly Muslim. I’ve been to Dubai, and while I see many people recommending it, I honestly thought it was the worst combination of East and West. All the commercialization of the West, but none of the democracy. Plus, if you are not native Emiratis, you will always be second class. I’m from the US in what I think is the mini-Canada (ok, the Twin Cities) and we have a big Muslim community, but I’m very concerned Trump will win again in 2024, and I don’t know what will come of it. My daughter is part Afghani, but raised Catholic because her father’s side is irreligious. But I still worry for her, looking like she does and carrying that last name. People are so awful.

Don’t come to Canada. Housing is expensive, food is expensive, taxes are high and rising. If you do come to Canada bring your own tent so you have a place to live after you get tired of the homeless shelter. Don’t worry there are plenty of tent cities all over the country but do your research because some of them are dangerous. Don’t get sick because it’s hard to find a doctor and the emergency rooms are backed up for many hours to see a doctor. Violent crime is on the rise as well. I’m doing ok but will leave Canada when I retire.

Ok, so I live near a border crossing so I’ve been over to shop on many occasions. (Never lived there though.) Here’s an example of a time I was over there, waiting in line at customer service at a store. There was a man in front of me. I patiently waited for him to finish and then went to step forward in his place. A woman behind me basically pushed me out of the way, literally cut me, and then started interacting with the employee like it was an everyday normal thing to do! I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. Manners are something you learn as a child. I had no idea how I’m inconsiderate and rude some people could be. (I have many other examples but of course when I see something like that, I really notice it.)\nNever mind the lack of respect for human life when you’re trying to drive on a Freeway with some. That’s actually terrifying.

The grass is greener on the other side. In Canada it is white for 6 months. Winters are horrible and it's a very expensive country. Cost of living is high. I'm a Canadian -Indian. If you can tolerate the winter and have a good paying job then perhaps it's OK

I support the current US immigration system but that’s because I’m against immigration and letting half the world in. Canada can have them and all the awful consequences that have occurred in their country since. Not talking about the individual people btw, more cost of living is much higher and wages are lower and much more stagnant and how Canada went from a really decent place to worse than the US in basically everything.\n\nImmigrants are ok…in limit. Americans shouldn’t be ok with letting in half the worlds just because of some concept like multiculturalism and diversity that are actually very classist to the average Canadian and American and screw over most already present minorities. The USA is ok to visit but I’m even avoiding that for the last number of years. I guess I’m just not ready to see firearms on people in a line up at a store; knowing that many others are (legally) carrying concealed weapons. There are many other countries that reflect my values on individuals (women, LGBTQ etc), that would be a second choice after Canada. And of course, the healthcare (or lack thereof). I can’t imagine being in a country that doesn’t support the health of all of their citizens and not just those who contribute to the financial health of big business.

You enumerate conditions to be ok in the USA, for ex live in the city, live in a secure part of the city or of the country… have a job and you’re ok for healthcare which in the end is still expensive and does not even cover. everything. Here tHe comfort comes from not only I’m 100% protected but ALL Canadians are. What we have in our social net, so does everybody else.

While driving to Alaska I picked up a crying ww who was stranded about 20 miles away from home. She seemed to be a nice lady until we went over a hill and was immediately passed by a police officer going in the opposite direction. He looked at me (in a new white firebird) then at her and put on his lights. I warned her the police will turn around and stop us because he saw her. She didn’t believe me so I instructed her to simply observe. We both looked at the speedometer, 61! He turned around and came up behind us. I pulled over and he walked to the drivers window and asked HER if she was ok? She stated yes. He rudely asked for my license and registration and stating I was doing 70 in a 60. She attempted to defend me but he ordered her to be quiet. Her mouth dropped. I informed him I was at 60 but didn’t know the road would drop. He wrote me a ticket. I scribbled my name, he tore the ticket off the pad and threw it in the car. Asked her if she’s sure she was ok? She said yes and he walked away. She was clearly saddened and offered me dinner once she got home. She kept apologizing and I stated we live this way everyday and I’m use to it. Thanks for the offer but I’m on my way to work. At least he didn’t take my car. She started crying. I informed her she didn’t do it so not to worry, just learn from the experience. I left Canada and later was notified at my address in California I had a warrant for an unpaid speeding ticket, then later notified I was banned from Canada for carrying an illegal firearm. I imagined what could’ve happened if I was alone. Stay out of Canada! The system seems to be the same as America.

You know what, I’m an immigrant too. I came to America in 1988 from a communist country to have a better life and have religious freedom. But it took us more than 5 years, if not more, to get approved and jump every hurdle, every flaming hoop, and else they asked us to do, BUT, WE DID IT! Why do people think it’s ok to be able to come here illegally when others have to Jump through hoops to get here? And the stupid fucks who think they should be allowed to do that shit, should be made to put em up in THEIR HOMES AND NOT ON THE TAXPAYERS DOLLAR! Period point blank!!!! A country without rules will fall into anarchy. So many people do shit the right way, why do others think it’s ok to say fuck it and became a burden on the economy? Everywhere around the world, there are borders in place, and they’re there for a reason, to keep order, and to prevent illegal entry. Nobody’s saying not to come here, or that you’re not welcome or wanted here. But you have to do it the right way. I have a fix to all this. Make every American that came from a legit system, and grand parents, and parents who came legally back 4 generations count only and offspring.. No Tno anchor babies allowed from anyone who came illegally past 4 generations, record department can validate all this. All natural born and maybe been legally also count. Ok, everyone mentioned get mandated to wear a tamper proof wristband linked to ownership and picked up from the DMV and the bands are electronically active for six months, if cut it sends a signal RFID signal for warranted arrest. Everyone with a band can go to work, shop, travel and it's only temporary for 6 months then gets legally removed. All illegals can register on the way out and need grabbed to cube back through the front door if they have no violent or theft charges or rape/assault felonies. Temp residents/work Visas get a band too. Bring in NATO and our military to start operation clean sweep, we offer bus rides back and ditched air flights back to what ever country you can't from, the sweep comes from N.S.E.W. circling in..if caught after having a chance to leave and didn't you will have a index finger on left hand cut off as a marker for being a invader to our homeland along with a RFID microchip embedded into the wrist bone, the chip will signal in the future if you even get with in 500 miles to border and all airports coming into America. Solar drones charge and patrol the border in drives 24/7. All who participated can get in line to come back as long as clean record mentioned prior. CNN, your story is completely incorrect in every possible way. These are migrants which make them eligible for entrance into Canada to be evaluated. The police are informing them that the procedure is to be arrested and then they are lead through an evaulation process where they are assessed or denied refugee status. \n That is how refugees are supposed to be treated according to the 1951 Refugee Convention of the UN that Canada AND THE US not only signed but drew up. Nothing is in the Convention that says separating familiies is legitmate treatment, as has been done at the US southern border. \n It's OK CNN. I'm used to your feckless approach to journalism.

Looks like Canada still needs to learn some lessons in this regard. Ask Italy, were complete swarms arrive at the coast dead or alive from the African continent. Helping people is ok, but it needs to happen in a structured way, so that you don’t destroy your own society. I’m from Belgium and just like any nation in Europe. Multiculturalism has been promoted since the 90’s. There is no way back, and there certainly is no room for racism because of that. However a society needs to be able keep it’s integrity intact. That needs to be decoupled from the emotional aspect.
