Why is PM Trudeau not talking about the reasons President Trump put tariffs on Canada and Mexico? CNN is a biased network highlighting only one side,

Who convinced Trump of this? I like him but this trade war against Canada isn’t the way to go, really. I feel Canadians were mistakenly targeted. US needs allies not foes. Proud of Trudeau for the first time. I don’t live in the US but in Canada at the moment, not Canadian either, but I’m very objective in my perception about these occurrences. I hope America makes peace with Canada so strengthen both sides, hmmm.

As a 60 years old french Canadian I have all the reason to not love Trudeau, because he remind me how his father treated us, never vote for him, but today I saw a men (finally) standing up and take the lead for our country. Yes Canada is still my country and I like the way he directly adress to your president. I have so many American friends on both side( D and R ) and I hope they understand that what he said is not directly apply to United State citizen, wake up America before it s to late.

Why are those 2 people standing behind him trying not to smile when Trudeau is making up that Trump wants a trade war and he's siding with Putin? It's too bad that Trudeau's Government did so little about fentanyl, also about our poorly-controlled border and destructive immigration non-policies for so long. Hence, driving Trump's scorched-earth policy (The Tariffs). That said, it blows me away that Trump was so vociferous about the Lawfare that was lined up against him in 2023-24, but he doesn't see that excess use of the power of the State is wrong and immoral in this Canadian and Mexican case. Trump only knows the right of might. Threats, coercion, bullying. He doesn't otherwise distinguish between right and wrong; only about what is good for him and his ego. The Tariffs will drive very bad business outcomes in the US. Including, inflation, and lost jobs. The Stock Markets are already tanking. At this particular stage, his ego will not allow him to back off, that's my prediction. Much pain for all Americans (and obviously for Canadians) will first have to ensue. Canada must receive its spanking, and Donald will have to save face. Ultimately, he'll invent some dishonest pretense to put the genie in the bottle, while the economic damage to all sides will be severe. But ... Why would he care?

Trudeau can't promise to subsidize the Canadian factories that will shut down and the jobs that will forever be lost if Canada shuts down deliveries... HE WON'T BE IN POWER... I'm just confused on the admiration for Trudeau in the comments, because I haven't heard anything good about him or what he's got going on. I'm not Canadian, but I do feel it's a real shame that President Trudeau is withdrawing...I understand that he's not perfect, but compared to who you have on the other side of the border, he's brilliant..and I really think that he is exactly the right person to have as a leader at this crazy moment in time.

Vancouver resident here - I live a couple blocks away from a college, and can confirm that the student populace not only exploded but is almost exclusively Indian and it wasn’t gradual. \n\nPersonally, this seems to be the most egregious of it because aside from the sheer numbers, they don’t seem to be making the area any less safe or being a nuisance. And at those numbers, they patronize nearby businesses, helping the local economy. Can’t complain about that.\n\nHome prices have been out of control for decades, and so have hospital wait times - these are Canadian problems for which the Indians are merely a recent contributor (if at all). \n\nThe issues Canadians are facing from the influx of Indian seeking education and/or PR’s are under the jurisdiction of Canada’s Trudeau government - a group that is facing deep criticism amongst Canadians. They are now trying to placate us by walking back over the Indians they welcomed here in the first place. \n\nAnd that action subsequently (though not intentionally) gives justification for Canada’s most deplorable citizens to place blame on said Indians and discriminate freely. \n\nHaving said that, the main issue Vancouver locals have that is that (once again due to the Trudeau government) we seem to have imported a violent form of Indian politics that cause blood to be spilled on our streets - I don’t know the details between the sides, just want that sh!t shut down. What's not being addressed is how temporary foreign workers were once relegated to to agricultural and fisheries work but are working for many exploitive employers who care about nothing more than having the lowest payroll, mainly fast-food and retail. These are entry-level jobs that many Canadians needed to survive but are being undercut by foreign cheap labor. These jobs used to pay the bills. \n\nGlobal News only showing agricultural workers and not Subway and Tim Hortons franchises shows what side of the issue Global News is on. It makes you wonder who has voting control of Corus Entertainment, probably the same investors who own many Subway and Tim Hortons locations. \n\nChrystia Freeland saying they will tie the Temporary Foreign Workers eligibility to the unemployment rate of an area still does not address how those jobs do not cover basic living expenses of Canadian citizens.
