President Trump doesn't care. The US has been subsidizing Canada's electrical grid for over $250 million dollars a year. Canada will loose that. In addition, US automotive industries like stellantis are moving productions back to the US from Canada. Canada has been charging the US dairy products 250% in tariffs, US Bourbon and whiskey 180% for over 4 years. China has been charging Ford 200% tariff so much so that ford can no longer afford to sell their vehicles in China.....all these outrageously high tariffs were designed to protect their domestic products.... China was suposed to spend 4 billion dollars a year in US goods but they have been consistently spending only 1.9 billion each year . Trade deficit of over 2 billion dollars. What sane person would allow this to happen in a free market and call this fair trades????? I have no knowledge of this until recently.

Canada has the weakest courts in the free world. Thanks to Trudeau canada is a third world country. He also likes rent boys and cocaine.

The whole point of tarrifs is to make it unprofitable for American companies to use Canada for things like manufacturing, energy and other natural resources.\n\nThe liberal government is who made us weak where we depended on the trade deficit in our favour. Retaliatory tarrifs against USA are necessary, but a better impact would be achieved with significant but similar retaliatory increase in sanctions against Putin. In that way, Putin will be more likely to tell his boy to stop the attack against Canada.

Our imports from Canada are like 1% of our GDP, our exports to Canada are close to 20% of Canada’s GDP. Pretty sure the US will be okay.
