Trump admires Putin because, like Putin, he believes that the strong can do whatever they want, while the weak must obey! But what else would you expect from a country where slavery was once considered normal, from a country that exterminated millions or even billions of Indigenous people just to take their land? Of course, over time, things have changed — people have become smarter and started to value life — but Trump belongs to that ancient caste of Americans whose IQ is around 20–50...

The only thing Canada has that the United States depends on is their energy for the Northern US. If it did, the US could get all the cheap oil and natural gas as he wants. Putin would give it to the US for free. Trump could careless about Russia or Putin. He wants american energy companys to start doing their jobs and provide energy to the american people at a reasonable cost. But all they are worried about is their record profits.

Canada is being too gentle in its initial response. Why not go full throttle right from the get go. If one were not experiencing it directly, it would be almost impossible to believe. Let us be honest, Indian students go to Canada to become a PR or a citizen! Living standard for ordinary people in India is very poor! Like Chinese, Indians want to live in western countries and bring their relatives with them! Australia has become very strict with foreign students too! Born and Raised in Canada and there is another sort of comparison I'm starting to see more and more: We have the Stagnation of Japan and the the Personality of Britain. \n\nWhat I mean by that, the people in Canada, least the older ones (Boomers), got very conservative and never wanted to rock the boat and do new things. They had in their eyes a good thing. They had work and owned their home. None of them wanted to risk that so they kept things the same for the past 3 decades or so. And that is what I think happened to Britain after they got resettled after WWII. Britain is pretty dry. And so is Canada. Hence our forest fires!

My family has lived in Canada for several generations. My grandpa moved here from Italy and he started a large masonry company and become successful. But as a college student, I'm the 5% minority. Everyone else is from the third world, especially India and China. Our culture has been completely destroyed and replaced. Something I've been thinking about. Trump keeps deporting people back to Canada and Mexico, but he also wants to make Canada a part of America (not sure if he wants to do the same with Mexico). How is he going to keep the people he wants to keep out if they become part of the country? What happens to the border and those people?

I used to think Pres. Trump was being too hard on Canada then I got a look at the tariffs they impose on our goods. Some as high as 250%. I think Trump just wants a level playing field and a lot of help from Canada on the border. I think Poilievre feels the need to talk tough in response but I think he really wants the same things as Trump. I hope Poilievre becomes PM because he's conservative and I think he'll work well with Trump as they're both conservative nationalists.

I visited Canada once , it was in Toronto , my first impression was am I really in Canada or china or india ? why so many chinese and indian people in Canada ? Do real Canadians really want future Canadian population to become mostly chinese and indian ?
