Recent Growth Trends (2022–2026) While the official 2026 Census data is not yet available, current local indicators point to a sustained increase in the Indian community: Rebounding Population: Mayor Michelle Boileau noted in 2024 that Timmins' population has reached its highest levels in over a decade due to immigration and industry opportunities. Newcomers: Since 2021, over 700 newcomers have arrived in Timmins through programs like the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP). Cultural Infrastructure: The growth of the community led to the establishment of the city's first Sikh temple to serve the expanding Sikh and Indian resident base. Tyler, They have had saber fights in the parking lot (iirc Sheridan College Davis campus). There's conflicts between hindus and sikhs every fucking diwali due to the khalistan bullshit. These indians love shooting fireworks up until 3am, and disturb all the folks trying to sleep, and terrorize dogs kept outside. Diwali has gotten so bad one year, the city had to issue air pollution warnings due to the amount of fireworks. They've also found out some time ago that there was a basement where they had 30+ different individuals living there, packed like a can of sardines. If a 3000 sq ft home has 3 generations living then that would easily be anywhere from 5-12 people depending on the number of children or sibling the earning member(s) have. The only problem is when these homes are converted to rooming units. Otherwise it is perfectly legal for extended families to live under one roof as first immigrants to gain foothold and then move on!! Has nothing to do with your skin or culture its not that deep and your not that special for most people to think about at all. Its the insidiousness of the actions and loopholes that are used by immigrants of all races or cultures that allow themselves to thrive. I worked with a lot of refugees and asylum seekers. They are generally allowed to work hwhilst waiting on their claim to be processed. My experience was they are very hard working, smart and ambitious. Not settling for just collecting welfare or hwhat-not. They are net contributors to Canadian society. Fortunately, the ones I knew had their claims approved. But hwhat if they didn't? hWhat if they lied/exaggerated about the persecution back home. They're still productive members of society. hWhy send em back? Better yet: Don't make em lie in the first place! Let them live and work here indefinitely just because they want to.

For Canadians:- Improve your immigration policy, how the heck are you allowing so many people in a short amount of time? And what's that college scam, Some people from your country make fake Universities, contact people from abroad and make them come in Canada, then they take their money as fees and then flash! No such college existed. And foreign people are trapped there. Also, hire qualified people with degrees like the USA does. Indians are living in USA too, but it's not such a big problem in USA BCOS of their policies. Not everyone is wrong,but make sure to punish the wrong one's. Imply tough rules on cleanliness and job hirings. Instead of banning people from these countries, imply strict regulations on them. As an Indian living in India, I’d say it was your country’s government’s problem and mistake, similar to what the UK is doing now. Aside from government or policies, Indians immigrating to Canada is something that dates back to the British era, when Britain sent a group of Indians, specifically Sikhs, for security or labor work in Canada. This started the trend of Sikhs (turban-wearing ones) moving there. In modern times, the West was richer in terms of education and infra compared to Asia, which attracted many normal students and families immigrants also. Canada and America were built by immigrants, but now things are saturated, which I understand, and that’s where the resentment comes from. The majority Sikh state ( punjab) in India is still behind in development and job wise cooperation, and the historical pattern from the British era of moving to Canada for a better life has become a norm for many young people there. The close, collaborative nature of Sikhs—like a cousin in Canada inviting another cousin from India to come over, open a shop, work together, or share housing—is another reason many don’t hesitate to immigrate. These are some of the reasons behind mass immigration from India. Now, with saturation, the resentment toward immigration has grown. India itself faces issues with immigrants who live off our taxes, take rights meant for native children, and abuse policies, laws, or the environment. At least Canada has better-off immigrants—educated and contributing to the economy. While some may depend on taxes, most are hardworking and self-sufficient; otherwise, Canada’s economy would have collapsed by now. Just to make a correction, I 25 (F) daughter of immigrant parents was born and raised here, live in the greater toronto area and wanted to mention that a lot of folks believe the ones behind the crime rise in toronto are the new immigrants. Meanwhile the Caribbean is expected to be unlivable in 15 and 20 years. The USA we are expected to lose 100 miles of our coastline. That area is where 50% of Americans lives. Pretty soon it will be everyone for themselves if certain country do not look at the long term picture. Also the lifestyle we are living today is just not sustainable.

No one has ownership of a country. That is the problem, people, specifically whites, thinking they have the right to dictate who lives in a country they have no ownership rights too. Why is this a human tragedy? What's so extraordinary about living in Quebec or Canada for that matter? The exorbitant cost of living and accommodation? 6 months of winter and loneliness? A very competitive job market which is extremely demanding regarding ones qualifications and work experience? 30 + years in this city and i have seen the changes. I dont want to single out students but they are the main reason for it. Fake car insurances and expensive cars they cant afford. Results in my insurance being higher by default. Many students coming here and not studying but getting on trucks as soon as they get their license makes brampton one of if not the most city with trucking companies . Sheridan college with its low standards dooms the city. Multiculturalism is good but when people ruin that for others for their own cash grab methods makes this city extremely expensive to live in.

My cousin was adopted from India and she was the sweetest person you would ever meet. What once was a smaller Canadian city has now been taken over and become India. You don’t take over a beautiful Canadian city and make it your own from where you came from - you respect what it was before you came.

My family of 16 moved to Canada from Holland in 1952. My wife’s family moved from France in 16th century. Canada has always been a land of immigrants. Where we lived in East Vancouver were were surrounded by Italians. Richmond was nothing years ago and now is mostly Chinese and Asian. Foreigners are energetic and have cultural roots they are proud of why shouldn’t they. The First Nations people here were exploited in every way by the English and French followed by every other European country. So the video focuses on Indian immigrants slanted with negative biases. India is a very diverse and historically one of the most accepting of foreigners in the world exploited terribly by the British and their hero Churchill who let millions of Indians starve by robbing them. Shameful, converted such a beautiful country into the country no one wants to live in

Before these people call others ‘migrants,’ they should remember that the only real migrants in Canada were the European settlers who arrived centuries ago and violently seized Indigenous lands. And now, the same system they built.... one that preaches democracy, equality, and freedom is biting them back, as people from every corner of the world, including those with darker skin, come to settle, contribute, and rightfully share in what they once stole. History has a way of balancing itself and this time, justice looks a lot more diverse...

I am an Indian immigrant living on GTA. If I was forced to live in Brampton, I would rather go back to India than live in Brampton. The problem with Brampton is a subset of Indians that are easily recognizable and do not assimilate. Most of these specific subset come here as students and through family sponsorship ( not regular immigration stream). The students get false documents for their language and educational credentials. I'm a Brampton resident. My family immigrated in the late 90s. I grew up on YTV, TVO kids, Fox Kids, Treehouse TV. I also still grew up knowing my own native culture and religion. I attend one of these temples of worship. Despite this, I still made friends with different races of people. I think my community needs to branch out a little more and learn about other cultures that live amongst us. Maybe we need to have a little less pride on where we come from? I don't know what the exact answer is. One thing I know is we can definitely get along. Just need the community to adapt more and actually learn Canadian culture. Maybe go see a Blue Jays game at the Skydom? Maybe know who Wayne Gretzky is?? LOL.

I lived in Canada for 11 years, 2008 - 2019, went to university and worked in Toronto. I come from an upper-middle class family in China, went to a top university in Canada, landed good jobs and I speak English like a native. I got my PR in 2015 and I remember the painful uphill battle I had to go through just get that. All the bureaucracy, redtape, unnecessarily rigid rules, high cost and long wait I received from CIC/IRCC felt like a humiliation to me. Every document was scrutinized and every step had obstacle that fealt unreasonable (my TOEFL examiner ask me why I had to do the language test required by CIC, and I had to visit a notary to validate my Chinese national ID card). It felt uneasy but I understood that these were the rules that everyone had to go through, and moving and integrating into a new society was never meant to be easy. I went back to Canada in 2021 and 2024, and it was evident that the country I once called home had gone down the hill. The streets were screaming crime, unemployment, inflation, drug and filth, it's total social rot. As someone who went through the whole immigration process (and many of my friends who went through the same have left Canada for good, like myself), I attribute much of this to failed immigration policy. I cannot help but feel confused, angry, betrayed and humiliated when I look at the recent immigration policies of Canada and their results, and compare with what I had to go through. The feeling sums up to: Canada penalizes the hard-working and law-abiding people, and rewards the undeserved and the cheaters. Example: when the US creates wars in the Middle East, why does CANADA bear the cost of bringing in refugees? I never regretted moving back to China and East Asia, and I feel bad for those who still truly think of Canada as home, as I am one myself. When the leadership of a country deviates from pragmatism, reason and common sense, and instead embraces idealogies, hypocrisy and political optics, this is what happens. The prices are paid by everyone, immigrant or not. For this, Trudeau deserves a court trial for his incompetence and dereliction of duty; and the people of Canada need some honest and serious retrospection. I will share some words of wisdom by the late Lee Kwan Yew: “Whoever governs Singapore (LKY was the PM and founding father of Singapore) must have that iron in him. Or give it up. This is not a game of cards, this is your life and mine. I've spent a whole lifetime building this and as long as I'm in charge, nobody is going to knock it down.” I hope the clownish weakling politicians in Canada (and, in much of the western world nowadays) can be enlightened a little bit.

All the White Canadians blaming Indians for immigrating while their own Government is the one who put them in this mess. Not a single Indian would be in Canada if it wasn't for your own Government allowing them in. Yes, Indians came to Canada. Yes, they live mostly in Brampton. So what? The focus should be on whether a person is a good citizen or not. If an Indian is being an a** sure call him out, but do exactly the same for any other race or community. There are many hard working, law abiding Indians in Brampton. Painting all Indians with the same brush demotivates the genuine ones. This is like someone spotting 5 homeless white or refugee people on the road and filming them to then say all white and refugees are sh*t.

If they work, file their taxes, don't siphon the system and talk to me in English then I do not care what they do in their own time. On the contrary, I wish them the best. Those who do not contribute to society and merely leech off of it are the true dregs. That applies the same to a white man with needles harassing people under a bridge and a black man in a hoodie and mask robbing a convenience store (non-Indian stereotypes) as it does to any immigrant who hops the border and expects this country to fund their way. That said, there have been far too many immigrants in the last decade, regardless of origin. I've lived in my small town in BC for 37 years and somehow I cannot get a family doctor (I visit all of the local clinics annually and am on the provincial waiting list) while a lot of newer residents seem to have a doctor within months of moving here. I am glad I bought my house when I did, I would not be able to afford one today. I am not against legal immigration, just slow it down so the infrastructure can support it and properly vet those who apply. The system for deportment currently employed in the US is far too hastened and imperfect for my liking but the lack-of-a-system (or heck, acknowledgement) that this is even an issue by the current and previous Canadian governments is equally as concerning (arguably more, other folks can debate the politics of it).
