I’m an American citizen who was born in the United States (Hawaii). Everyone has the right to support or not support President Trump’s plans for mass deportation. The interviewer asked this Mexican American woman her opinion and she’s entitled to her opinion. There are a lot of Hispanic people who agree with Trump. I don’t think she’s turning her back on her family by saying “it’s okay” if they get deported. I think she’s respecting and supporting the rules of Immigration laws to have legal documentation to live in the United States. Rather than disrespecting and ignoring Immigration laws the way her family did. I think in a way she’s saying “it’s okay” her family gets deported because they deserve to be penalized for breaking Immigration laws for entering and staying in America for 20 or 30 years illegally which is valid and understandable. It comes down to the phrase “You commit the crime you do the time” whether it’s family or not. I believe she has a leg to stand on because she followed Immigration laws, received her Green Card and is living in the United States legally. If a family member of mine committed a crime and were put in jail or deported back to their country I would say “it’s okay” too. You reap what you sow.

One ? Justin Turdo makes Canadian immigration weak and laughable. All these foreigners think they can come into America and Canada and live a happy comfortly life on hard working middle class tax payers dollars. We need a mass deportion before it's too late, starting with getting rid of the Liberals and the NDP permanently. And enforcing an aggressive mandatory immigration deportion for illegals and those on a temporary student visa or working visa.

Ms Mexican-American, if your family members are deported because they came into the country illegally they will never be able to apply for citizenship! I think they would not even be able to apply for at least 10 years... Could change you will be dead before they can even start the process that may take an additional 6 years after waiting at least 10 years to apply which totals almost 20 years.

That remain in Mexico will not last forever, Mexico knows that its a farce, the U.S dont care about those people. and by the way, there's thousands of migrants working and living in Mexico, remaining in Mexico, very few if any will be allowed in anyway, the border is all screw up and there is to much anti-migration racism and lies about migrant's, and few Mexicans are crossing the border illegally, not even migrating, in Mexico's case, migration is in reverse and American are invading Mexico to live a better economic life, many especially in Mexican border cities live in Mexico illegally, best hope they dont start massive deportation's (becouse the U.S. only thinks they have homeless now) Thank God for Mexico

The Mexican president can either get on board and they actually police their side of our border and help stop the fentanyl, cartels and illegal migrants or Trump will send in special forces to deal with cartels after they make the terrorist list. Far as the mass deportation? Buckle up buttercup because its coming i don't think Trump would care if they all get dumped out at air strips in Central America i mean they got themselves there to come up and cross illegally here so they can find their way to where they came from from there.

Also, if she thinks Trump and his coterie of criminals against humanity are going to stop at deporting illegal migrants, she'd better think twice. First million to be the criminals is the way to go. The streets are not safe with these criminals and gangs. Not all migrants are criminals but those who are robbing and stealing are causing too much ruckas. And next comes the ones that dont do shit that contributes to society. The working ones can stay. However those setting up illegal kitchens and vendors should start paying tax and stop just living off the benifits of the taxes we pay. Not all need to be deported some do benifit the society. I think these illegals immigrants should be deported and come here the right way. Using the front door and waiting in line, behind the immigrants who came here the right way and still waiting. And they should do away with the anchor baby laws.

People still don't understand the problem of deporting migrants. If the neighboring country refuses to take in the migrants, you can't deport them there. People just don't think things through. They'll probably build camps and then keep the people there.\n\nThe purchasing power of illegal immigrants was more than $254 billion in 2022, and undocumented households had a total income of $330 billion - they paid almost $76 billion in taxes\n\nSometimes I wonder what level of education people have. What will happen when people stop working and the places are filled with Americans? Prices will go up. By the way, illegal immigrants are not entitled to social benefits but pay taxes, who do you think benefits?

Two major factors that they didn't mention about the large increase in support for mass deportation are Desantis and Abbot busing a bunch of migrants to major cities, and the recent reports of Tren de Aragua taking over apartment complexes using guns that (I think) Americans are banned from owning.

It's refreshing to get the TLDR take on this kind of subject. Most of my news come from the BBC or Guardian and anything immigration related is a hot topic. So you are never going to get a balanced, unbiased presentation, just hysteria about the far right or whatever. \n\nAs noted here, I suspect this 'mass deportation' rhetoric will be just that. Never mind China and Haiti, I think the biggest Latino group currently is from Venezuela. Trump might be a maniac, but that poor benighted country's dictator is off the scale. How will Trump push tens of thousands of Venezuelans back home?

It feels so foolish to keep trying bandaid solutions that harm the US labor pool. There's a couple of things I keep thinking about in regards to this. \n\n1. Most developed countries on earth are in the midst of or are preparing to deal with population crisis and depopulation. Strong immigration to the US stems this issue and is actually a huge advantage to the power and continuing visibility of the USA.\n\n2. Deportation and border control strike at the effect of immigration and leave the cause unharmed. People come to the USA because there's opportunities here, so why not make opportunities abroad?\n\nIf the USA were to remove benefits of dealing with china while offering massive incentives for moving manufacturing away from china directly to Latin America, not only would we be countering our Chinese dependency but we would also provide jobs at home and stem immigration. Not only that, but the businesses would be American and be controlled by Americans - a huge incentive to stay friendly to the USA.\n\nI don't know, just seems like our current policy and especially what Trump is suggesting are counter productive and stuck in a bygone way of thinking.

That last point is the real kicker. A lot of illegial people think of at the min are Chinese, Haitian, or Venezuelan. There is no functional way of deporting these 3 groups to their nation o origin.

Nice example of selfishness and naivety. If she thinks that deported individuals can re-apply, she is up for a great surprise at her family's expenses.

I can’t believe people actually think that Trump will deport more than 20 million people, when that’s literally practically impossible considering how many immigrants aren’t willing to leave and the ones that are scattered across huge areas. The realistic conclusion is he deports most illegal immigrants in big cities which would be about 3 to 5 million over 4 years

My main concerners are human decency and the chance that a legal immigrant will get caught up in the mix.\n\nFirstly, i am concerned we will return to the concentration camps of the 1900s and the people in them wont have adequate supplies and support ehile they wait to be deported.\n\nSecondly my concern is for those on a green card or other form of legal immigration getting caught up in the mix and not being let go. I guess this also includes children of people here illegally who were born in America.\n\nFinally i think we need to stop thinking of asylum seekers as illegal immigrants. If you have come here and submitted the proper paperwork to be here then you should be allowed to stay until your paperwork has been processed.

Ok I have a question. Right now the unemployment rate is 4.1%, if 12M illegal immigrants get deported, who largely work in food processing, constructions, and healthcare support, who is going to take those jobs? We have 7M unemployed and if we deport 12M, that's 5M jobs at a minimum that will no longer be filled. You think food costs a lot now, what happens to the cost of food without them? Or the cost of building new housing, it certainly won't go down? Or the cost of taking care of granny in the old folks home, is she coming home to the family to provide round the clock care?

The lady from California who said she is against deportation. Stating some of these people are doctors. So, does she think we believe that story. An illegal doctor working in our country. And this is what we call, a ladder puller. Now that she was able to become a citizen, rather than helping her family members to get their legal status, which can be difficult, tedious and very expensive, she could care less if the lives they have already spent decades on building here are completely destroyed. She seems to be fully aware that it can be a difficult process, and I personally have seen that it’s not exactly a fair one either. I have seen some people spend not only years waiting on a hearing or a determination, but spend thousands they scrape together on lawyers and obtaining records, while others submit minimal evidence and get a determination in weeks. Instead of admitting that there are problems with the system and vote for people who are actually trying to help, she wants the same system that made it a difficult process for her to stay the same for them. In fact she voted for someone who is going to make it harder if not impossible for them to come back the right way in the first place. Is she not thinking? If they get deported, that is going into immigration records and when that gets pulled up when they apply to come back it will likely cause any legally efforts to return to be rejected. And who knows how long that will stay in their system? Could be years, could be permanent. Biden’s idea to help those undocumented who are married to citizens to be able to apply and get a temporary visa to stay here while they wait so that families wouldn’t have to be broken up by having the applicant return to their country of origin. That was not just a great idea from a humanitarian point, but they could apply for a job that wasn’t going to take advantage of them by paying below minimum wage, with no rights if they are injured. That could help bring local wages up. They would start contributing back by paying their fair share of taxes, and do on. Republicans in red states stopped it though and are suing the Biden administration for trying to do what? Help people and fix some of the issues that our broken immigration system has caused? \nSorry lady, but you earned your family’s ire and whatever treatment you get from the administration you voted for.

And another thing she don't realize is. They don't just come to your house and say okay. You guys get together and get your stuff. We're gonna put you in a bus and take you back to the border. No, they violently arrest you like your criminal. And throw you in jail for months sometimes years at a time waiting to be deported. And if you think you'll all be deported at once, you got another thing coming. The man might go and jump. The woman might go in July. The kids might go separately next year. If you don't believe me. I saw it with my own eyes in 2019. I was locked up in Colorado. I watched them raid construction sites hospitals. Numerous other businesses arresting hard work in Mexican people. Imagine all the nurses and workers at hospitals that are from other countries. I watched them arresting nurses. Arresting tab drivers Uber drivers. I watched them raid schools and arrest children. I watched them put these poor people in jails with real criminals. All the immigrants loved me. I was actually in a federal and ICE facility. So I literally saw all of the immigrants. I protected them from the racist white people. I'm from Tampa Florida, so I'm used to the jails and prisons being majority, black guys. But in Colorado, it's white supremace, gangs and Mexican gangs. What's even more sickening? Is people from Washington would come in and take some of the Indians out. And when they came back, I would ask them questions and they said that the government people would get information on their family back in India and see if they could pay 50k to stay in America. It was sickening. I found out that what they were doing was deporting. Poor people and the people that have money back in their country. They have their families send money and let them stay. I saw it with my own eyes.

Some Trump supporters think she should also be deported. I don’t want people like her deported but I know Trump supporters who want all Latino people deported regardless of their legal status.

Ohhh if it was her own child I’m sure she wouldn’t be saying that’s ok.., there are many like her out there. They get those papers and they think they work for the White House. If she would’ve visited Mexico and had a kid while visiting and didn’t have the money for a green card it would have been a completely different situation. For those just because you got your papers do you not think that there are people that came here as infants or kids to immigrant parents that came to work to provide for their kids it’s not that easy to get your green card it cost thousands of dollars. Many immigrants that I know and worked with including myself, I came here as a refugee. Immigrants are the hardest working people I know. Unfortunately a lot of the ones that came here as kids grew up in some neighborhoods that are not so great and mainly are kids that were born here that are in gangs or doing drugs or violent so don’t blame immigrants saying they bring all this with them it was already here … drugs gangs violence was already here. Gangs started in the White House with their red and blues. Then they say they are taking all the jobs.. the jobs have always been here but people that are citizens are too lazy to go get jobs or keep jobs ( not all citizens) but the ones that are complaining immigrants usually come from villages without any media or drugs or gangs ect. They simply come here for better opportunities or for jobs. They come to work not to freakin take your jobs… this country everyone is a damn immigrant this country was taken from the natives taken with violence by killing them , rapi!’ Them. If she is a naturalized US citizen she can still be deported on a whim if Donald Trump directs the AG, DHS, ICE to do so. It happened from the 1930's-1960's when hundreds of thousands of US citizens were deported and don't think it can't happen now given the right set of loyalists all working together..

I don’t think that’s how it works. If you’re deported, you can’t reapply for entry for usually a decade. It’s not like you boot people out and they can then immediately apply to return “the right way”

How innocent, thinking that her relatives would get a chance to go through the legal channels after being deported for being illegal.

The government will have to build hundreds of jails to put millions of immigrants and they will need everything any jail need, guards, doctors, nurses, security systems, etc. , and all that means money from all taxpayers, because there is not way to arrest anyone and be deported right away. The taxes will be so much that millions won't be agree with that and they will stop working and that will destroy completely our economy. We can't just work to pay taxes and higher prices for everything. Please just think about it. If you only think to destroy others because you just hate them, take a moment and think about yourself first. What will bother you more a ugly brown immigrant cleaning floors and bathrooms or paying a lot more for everything.

She obviously doesn’t know that even naturalized Latinos with legal citizenship may be deported. This new administration’s evil doers are said to be going after Latinos who ARE citizens. They want a way to take away their naturalized status, (Stephen Miller is heading this effort.) This would include kids born in this country who’ve never known anything different but the US. I’d think that this could put HER at risk. Her cruelty and lack of empathy is disgusting.

Do you think these immigrants will be tortured whilst being deported? Clearly you cant say theyll be treated with ‘respect’.
