I would not want to live down there with the pervasive American attitude. I thought my American friends were lovely people, but then we went to a restaurant together. I was flabberghasted by how they ALL spoke down to the waitress, as if she was beneath them. You can pick out the American tourists here, by how they talk to service people. I wish I could say this was a stereotype, but i live in a tourist town and see it every day.

If Trudeau had been strong and forceful on all our problems in the last 5 years, he would still be Prime Minister. i think he got caught up in his own self importance, instead of running our country for the good of it's people. Trudeau has not been a good Prime Minister. He took the Liberal Party (historically a centrist party) further left, wasted billions of dollars during Covid and put punishing carbon taxes on Canadian citizens. Having said that, this IS his finest hour and he and most of the provincial Premiers have shown a solidarity and strength that will prove to the US that their northern neighbour is not the pushover they thought they were. I was upstate New York looking at some property and border. Patrol stopped us because they thought we were picking up illegal migrants. But what was really surprising?
