There is hardly any reasonably priced rentals you pay 3/4 of your income on a dump. Utilities take the rest. Zero culture anymore. Getting dangerous. The weather is harsh and aging. There are no jobs for students in high school to begin entering adulthood workforce. It's woke beyond a joke. The media is biased. I’m originally from Kazakhstan but have lived all my adult life in California (21-41) and now considering moving out of state or even country. I do have still another 10 years I need to live here to accomplish a few of my career goals to live more comfortably afterwards, but in a long run this is not a place to live anymore. Even in the past 20 years I’ve lived in California I’ve witnessed economy and the whole family values goes down the drain, more homelessness, less opportunities, people are more selfish, etc. I know it is happening all around the world too but as in this video it was stated, it is much harder for me to be a practicing Muslim in an environment surrounded by non Muslims (no offense) - just the lack of mosques in my vicinity, an Islamic environment for my child, halal foods, etc. There are mosques and halal food, but I have to drive for it. I have wonderful friends, coworkers and neighbors that are non Muslim and super nice and we have great relationships. But there are oftentimes situations when I wish they understood me better like with this situation about Palestine. I think Palestine is the last drop we needed to firmly make the decision to move.

Even though I became Muslim only since mid March, I’ve been considering making the Hijra to a Muslim country Insha’Allah. I can’t relate to living in cold weather conditions being in Southern California, but I can relate to everything else. \n\nI’m not married. Insha’Allah one day I will. But I think about the safety my wife will have going out in public in her hijab. Insha’Allah I’ll have kids and I wonder about the indoctrination going on in society. \n\nBut the biggest thing for me is living in the US and knowing that whoever is in charge will endorse genocide. I am apart of the lgbtq+ community so I am not sure if I am completely welcome (I just want to peacefully exist with our rights as humans not convert people to the community) but that does not stop me from respecting you, your family, your religion, and your choices of doing what is best for you and your family. Hardly anyone here cares about why they’re fleeing their own country. No one wants to have to do that. In the end it all depends on both the kids AND the parents. If they genuinely bring the parents over for the parents own sake its WONDERFUL, BUT....the truth is, that the cost of living in these countries is so high AND, the kids want to attain and maintain a certain standard of living, that BOTH husband and wife NEEDS to go out to work..and what happens is that they end up USING the parents only for babysitting, cooking cleaning etc.... AND for their PENSIONS.... But they're given no respect. So its up to the parents also. BCZZ they're SO vital to the survival of the family unit...they have that power to stand up for themselves and get the respect they deserve. But the thing is, indian parents are martyrs.....they will suffer AND complain...but they will never abandon their kids and let them suffer....so that cycle of misery and disrespect never breaks.... and the situation never changes. The best thing is for the parents to get that pension and go back home every six mths, and at least enjoy some of their life. Sad but true.???

I wonder if the reason so many in so many places believe that medical care is a problem is actually a matter of expectations. I know that in the 90s, my little town in Kansas had as many imaging machines as the entire country of Canada, but Canadians were certain they had superior medical care, as did the English. Expectations.\nEven then, if something was so bad that only a silver bullet treatment would possibly help, they still send patients to the USA because they are not equipped to help. Quiet management.\nBut basic medical, especially if you don't have much money, was traditionally better in England. I don't think Canadians had choices, but the functional reality was similarly better than in the States. Expectations.\nFor some time, Americans have had a sense that miracles are practical things that happen all the time, just pull out all the stops to keep grandma in agony another week. This has been reinforced by the civil courts. It is dangerous to be a doctor who does not recommend EVERYTHING be done to prolong life, even miserable life. Insane expectations that waste a lot of money. \nBut basic medical? Just shut up and go to work. Expectations.\nA century ago, there were no significant differences in expectations amongst developed countries because the expectations, based on the technologies of the day, were the same. Plus, there was only so much that could be done, so the total costs of everything were predictable and could be paid for publicly or privately less angst or disappointment. Expectations.\nWhen the technologies change like they have been in medicine in this century, it's good guess that so do expectations. It's also a good bet that there is a mismatch between expectations and available resources. Broken system.

I've been to 30 states in my many decades of travel. The US has become a scarier place over the past 20 years. The politics is very partisan, Evangelicals have expanded their influence resulting in less tolerance of others, gun violence is insane, the poor are very, very poor with no way out, the very, very rich don't want to share at all (contrary to Christian teachings), the US version of capitalism verges on slavery (certainly not what Adam Smith envisioned anyway), the race issues are becoming simply stupid, the MAGA supporters and the socialist far left and wokeness are simply beyond comprehension . . . overall, tolerance for differences is becoming lost. People on the left and the right are equally are to blame. \n\nOne of Canadians' favourite activities is to crap on America(ns). This is unfair. There are wonderful places in the US and wonderful people. Collectively though, I think the US is coming apart at the seams. Canada certainly has its warts and our politics and society is becoming polarized too. But overall I'd say, Canada is friendlier, less violent, not as bigoted, more open minded, fairer, much less hierarchical, and more educated with regard to what's happening in the world. I do like the entrepreneurial bent to the US but its version often comes at a huge cost to people.

Hi Tyler ~ As this is a “younger” demographic…I was wondering if you could do a comparison with an older demographic - such as the who go to Florida and Arizona, as well as, a few other places, such as Palm Springs during the colder months. If they happen to be there for Christmas ~ CANUCKS (what Canadians refer to another Canadian) usually gather, close a few blocks of the neighbourhood and have Christmas dinner, then there’s Bonfire Night with fireworks in November (for the NEWFOUNDLANDERS that go to Florida), New Years celebrations is another. I could go on, as I have family that live 3/4 of the year in Canada and go to their southern homes for 3-4 max months of the winter. It would definitely be interesting on their perspective, as they can travel and interact with all demographics of society…including the police…as well as, their experiences with ** in the USA!\n\nCheers??☺??

With your gun culture, politics and health care system in no way would I ever move to the US. We spent most of our free time playing different RPGs over the years together. Around 9 years ago she came down with some kind of a illness and thank goodness she had healthcare through her job. The thing is though the system couldn't/wouldn't identify what was causing her decline in health. She went through all kinds of tests but became sicker and sicker in years to come. She died in October of 2021 but before she died we both wondered if the health care system was just milking her insurance and not really taking proper care of her. BTW she lived in SLC Utah. Going back to your gun culture though she felt safe living in SLC the mall she went too had a mass shooting and she also carried a pistol in her purse. ( she had a permit ) I have never known any woman in Canada who felt that she needed to carry a gun in her purse for safety.

America is a beautiful country to look at, and I'm sure there are lots of beautiful people, but the arrogance of some of them is mind blowing. I recently watched the news footage of 911, I cried all the way through that, first out of compassion and next out of frustration. When people were jumping out of those towers, George Dubya was making a statement that terrorism would not stand in America. What did he think was standing in his face. The terrorists won that day. Then when they got Bin Laden He stands up and says we got him . Big deal you got one person , when there are dozens to take his place. No mention of other countries that helped them. , they have taken full credit for every war that ever happened. They wonder why the rest of the world hates that country. The sad thing is that 911 didn't teach them a thing. They brag about how they lost 3000 people and other countries only lost a few to terrorism. How sad that they think that way. You had a great president in Obama, but you have that 2 term rule and have been going downhill ever since. And our Canada's Prime minister is certainly nothing to be proud of. I was once asked by a American colleague why did I not immigrated to the USA, the answer is: it was not even in the list of possible countries. In fact it is on my top list of places not to move to. \n\nYou have a good insurance through your job? That only means you have one more reason to fear losing it or stay on a particularly bad one if you don’t have anything lined up, if you have a chronic health condition, then you are straight out hostage to your employer. Even if you do have good insurance your bills may one day go beyond the maximum and you still risk bankruptcy. \n\nIf you do go bankrupt, in any civilized country you can’t go to jail for debt, in the USA you can, the country with the highest incarcerated population in the world in absolute numbers and relative too. To add salt to the injury it is a country that did not completely make slave work illegal, it is still legal if you are not a free citizen and your prison system exploit that.\n\nSo it is a country that you can become slave because you got sick.\n\nThen there are the guns… the fact you think you are exempt of school shootings says it all, if you live in a small city it would not affect you? Are you really saying mass shootings never occur in small cities?!
