Canada is doing more to modernize and improve our borders against illegal crossings than we have.

All yall crying about tariffs. Stop acting like it’ll last for the 4 years. This is to prove a point and make them foolish countries reactive and take action towards the problems they have been neglecting. Drugs coming into America, illegal migrants into America, and no show of force towards that. And more. They need to step it up

We know why HE is doing this. He is pushing an imperialistic agenda, so he can be like those he admires. He's hoping that Canada will bend at the knee and give in so that he can claim Canada as a 51st state. But guess what? That won't happen. He's just doing himself and his country harm. He doesn't care about you, or me, or us as two countries that have always worked together. But we are setting up border security to keep American drugs, and weapons, and illegal migrants from coming into Canada. We're going to have to survive by reverting our trade to elsewhere, to depend on ourselves, to boycott U.S. products. We may be nice, but we are also tough. We love our society, our democracy, and our benefits. We won't give that up. Growing up, I lived in South Western Ontario, I used to go back and forth from Canada to the U.S. with no issues. Now, I'm sad to say, I won't ever be going to the U.S. again. Let's all hope for a brighter future for both countries.

@Tradeau, Stop lecturing us about tariffs and threatening Americans. Your country has high taxes, and before it affects Americans, Canadian citizens will feel the consequences more. Additionally, stop pushing illegal immigrants and fentanyl across the US border. You call it a trade war, but we Americans call it a fair deal. You were well informed about the consequence but you never got serious about the warning. Canada must check strictly shipments from Mexico and China.

I agree. Here is a perplexing question which may shine some light into what is happening here. Why are we always hearing what comes from Canada into the US when more fentynal and illegal guns come into Canada from the US than the other way around? Canada and Mexico are not responsible for the people in the US who chose to use drugs. In fact, it's the United States job to keep illegal drugs and immigrants out of the US and they are doing a poor job of it and need someone else to blame. Mexico could retaliate in a way that could flood the US with illegal drugs and immigrants and refuse to repatriate its citizens back into Mexico. The rest of Central and South America could do the same in support of Mexico. They need to get Trump out of office before he ruins America.\nI remember the press conference with the USA (Trump), Canada and Mexico when signing the new trade agreement during Trump last time in office. Trudeau has the nerve to say that the US-Canadian border is safe and secure. But in Paliament he regularly complains about illegal items flowing over that same safe and secure border. How has everyone so quickly forgotten the reason for these tariffs. Canada has not stemed the flow of fentanyl. They contuine to poison their own people and ours. We ask them to stop or we impose tarrifs, they say they will stop, then they do not stop. Trudeau is full of bullsh!t go to our northern border in WA or NY and just ask the locals. They see the illegals all the time. They cross the border and then call for help. Its gotten so bad that if you do call to turn yourself in and get a court date, border patrol has a daily wait time of 1 1/2 to 2 hours just to make initial contact. It irritates me that Trump attacks canada for fentanyl and illegal immigration when its the other boarder that is the vast majority supplier. Trump has not given a resoanble or justifiable reason for these tarrifs in my mind. Its a shame as some of Trumps ideas and plans I agree with but so far the vast majority of his action has not been. I have been visiting canada frequently for my outings, if I go oit for dinner or entertainment ive been making a 1 hr drive to do so, vs a 45 minute drive to seattle. I will continue to soend every leisure dollar in canada untill this tarrif trade war is corrected.

Our city governments need to liberalise the housing market, in most cities across Canada it's illegal to build anything other than single family homes. When the developers eventually do push through a multi family building, they have to build a mega tower to offset the costs of the often 2 years approval process.
