Let’s be honest you really think when whites go to other countries they adapt and simulate into that culture? ?look look at Britain when they conquer India did they assimilate into the Indian culture? They were there for more then 200 years did didn’t assimilate actually look at Canada did they assimilate into the native culture who were here before the whites took over? Your logic doesn’t apply, without immigrants the country would fail because the whites aren’t having kids anymore like before and getting older you need young people to stay and do work and pay taxes to keep the economy going otherwise most western countries not just Canada would fail so please do more research on this matter I understand your white audience might not appreciate the facts but doesn’t matter who’s wins next elections, if Trudeau loses won’t matter because of the fact I listed above, the politicians will say things you might want to hear to get your vote but after that you will see same thing happens

I am so glad that this is getting talked about now. I have to pay for school this September and I still don't have a job. I have been applying to places for over a year at this point and I have heard absolutely nothing from any of them. I always suspect its because companies would rather pay 50% of a full salary to an immigrant as opposed to a full salary for a Canadian citizen, and to be fair, I don't blame them. If I didn't wanna lose money, I'd do it too, which is why its a completely ridiculous way to operate things! Once I get older, I'm getting out of Canada. As much as I love our culture, that we should be protecting by the way, I can't stand to be here, maybe the northern US would suit me more? Idk

Im a 10 gen canadian. Have a skilled trade under my belt. They say theres a shortage. But i can't get a job. Applying for jobs all across canada still nothing. But it seems these immigrants can just walk straight into these job no experience or training. Ive even gone back to school. Struggle with the writting side of the courses. But the people who dont understand a word of english pass with 90's. So i know have 2 degrees and on the job experience with a skilled trade. And still cant even get an interview after putting out hundreds of resumes. But the walk in and get hired on the spot. Not fair at all

I'm a US citizen living in Canada to be with my Canadian citizen husband until we can move to the states, there is no fast track or easy way to get a job while I stay here yet up until recently there were special provisions in the law to allow more immigrants from India faster, why? And if my husband were a permanent resident or here on a work permit, he could easily apply for me to work here, but since he's a citizen he can't? It doesn't make any sense and I can't wait to go back to my country where the people are friendly, wages are double, and the economy isn't collapsing.

I applied for Canadian visitor visa since 70 days ago as I have all the conditions that you must have it if you want to get visa without obstacles for rejection as an official documents with financial status including bank account with title deeds for properties and long history of travel including Schengen area and UK but unfortunately today I was disappointed when I received an email from Canadian immigration visa office that I wasn't got a visa but instead I rejected and the causes first they are not sure that I will return back to my country so what else should I provided to believe me and how do they know that those who already got visa they will return back ? Do they have a magician stick ? The second reason that I am single and I don't have strong family tie in my country , the question is : are you sure that one have a family when he gets visa they don't applied for family gathering later on ? Is it normal that I put this obstacle as you should change your social affairs and get married in order to satisfy those responsible of the office and what you do after 2 years when you with USA and Mexico organize the football world cup what's the decision about giving visa to those single or not .......??????

Been working with a lot of immigrants and the ones who complain the most… tend to have the same mentality. They apply for every social assistance program possible, they are very demanding, and often live outside of their means. Buying expensive cars and traveling often. My family immigrated here in the 90’s as refugees and both my parents worked hard. They never took out any handouts. If you need it, get it. The big difference is the mentality. Most of my parent’s friends were the same. Came to Canada with the mentality to work hard and get a better life.

Send all the illegal immigrants back where they came from. Those that want to stay need to apply for legal immigration, must be properly vetted, pledge allegiance to Canada, become Canadian, leaving hatred from their previous country behind, and cannot stay here while they wait. A moratorium on all new applications for at least 10 years. This way the back log of legal immigrants can be dealt with. Stop all new international students, put a moratorium on it for at least 10 years, stop all temporary and permanent workers. All loopholes used to illegally get into the county must be stopped. This will reduce the cost of illegal immigration and solve a large portion of the lack of housing. No more government subsidies to pay for foreign workers. This will open up entry level jobs for young Canadians. No more government subsidies for anything for immigrants. If they need government support then no, you are then disqualified from coming. No more abuse of our Canadian social programs.

Immigrating for Studies is different from Immigrating for Work and Residency. These people think they are all the same. There are different levels of intake based on how much limited resources Canada has. If you come for studies, that should be your intention. You get your education, and then go back to their country of origin. If you want to come for work or residency, apply as such and get in line behind others who use the system fairly.

Am I missing something here, Im not sure about open door anything, if you want a job you need to have work permit, if you are old and not eligible for working/holiday visa you need a visitor visa and look for an LMIA approved job ONLY, while already Canada, jobless, as a visitor, IF you get the offer its only then you can apply for work permit and after you got it then they hire you. is that how it usually goes? Or you have tens of thousands of dolars for a college you get study permit that enables you to work too. So, I dont see how is immigration to Canada easy and I have absolutely no clue how Indians and rest of the gang do it in such large numbers. Do they all just come on visitor visa and hope for the best? what about accommodation, money?

Why are you guys trying to target hardworking people? does anyone know the kind of benefits refugees get ? No cent has been paid in tax dollars by these people. Their rent is paid for by the government, their children's education is paid for, these guys have no clue about how to communicate in english. Students paid fees to get education here and gave exams to certify the level of english, I worked in Insurance and telecommunications sector and imagine explaining shit to these guys who are not interested in listening to how it actually works then come back and blame service reps for hiding facts. While it is their lack of comprehension of the language which is the actual problem. In Nova Scotia, there has been unthinkable amount of PRs given to students, who did not go to any of the Atlantic Canada Universities, came here for just gaining PR IN FOOD SERVICE SECTOR and then leave as soon as their cards were in the mailbox, While I spent 9 years here in Nova Scotia and still cannot apply due to such constraints caused by these people who keep moving here from Ontario just because their province would not approve their PR. Who will make the government accountable ?

i am a citizen, an IT professional. it has been 4 months and i have not been able to find a job. i have 12 years experience with multiple certs. IT field has been flooded by indians. they get into HR then only hire there own. they have whatsapp groups, where they share jobs, with each other and ask to apply, then refer each other within the company. 1 indian is hired and then whole company becomes indian. Canadian jobs should be for Canadian Citizens first. Stop immigration, stop renewing temp work permits, stop allowing students to work. we Canadians cannot find a job.

I am shocked to hear this from a CBC reporter saying IMMIGRANTS get money from the government!! Where on earth did you get this ,outrageous information!! People who apply to come to Canada as legal immigrants , have to go through a strict points system.that can take years . Plus medical and security checks. They have to speak English or French , be educated and most of all have a skill ,trade or profession that Canada needs!as Canada does not have enough highly skilled workers. Canada is a corporation and I guess the more immigrants WE have then the GDP looks better. I am a Canadian and my mother was born here and my grandmother came to Canada in 1907 from the USA when she was 7 years old. I was born in the 1940s and brought up in rural surroundings. Back then We had traditional beliefs and I had farming background. Connection of relatives and helping our neighbours were how We lived. I became a schoolteacher. I saw that in 1954 when I went to school that learning was not natural and it was fear based. Then I completed a dip. of ed psy and then I decided that if I ever wanted to help change the system that I would require at least an m. ed. - leadership. I knew the university I went to would not be able to say no to me when I applied to get into this program. However, I was too much of an negative influence on the younger students and had to finish the last couple of classes at home and which I did. Today, the families have been divided, people do not connect or communicate properly and I have to question what living skills did I learn? Instead, my head was filled with propaganda which sadly, I've had to relearn. I say, stay in your own country and fix it there. Indian has some wonder ancient wisdoms for healing and health. The OWNERS of our nations like the banking families realize that when new immigrates come in that they assimilate more, and the older generations begin to question what THEY were taught and why. I remember when say a barn burned down or one had to be built that neighbours would help build the barn for the farmer. Then we would all celebrate and the women would get together and cook the food and we would have a barn dance. Life was simple then, but connection was authentic and we didnt lose ourselves. We must know ourselves and our history or we are lost and so many people live in chaos and ignorance. Learn to become our Divine selves. Learn to understand that WE are living in a fictional world when We are educated to be who we are not.

Well I say its hypocrisy. Year after year, the immigration numbers keep increasing, the number of people applying for a PR and also getting a PR from abroad and inside Canada keeps increasing. People say they're fed up and they still continue to live in Canada. I say its all a hoax, nobody actually leaves, its just when two friends meet they say they're fed up of Canada, but the fact is they want a PR or citizenship and they continue to stay in Canada. Indian here, I applied for a Canada PR and just missed the PR score cut off by a few points, I am from one of the top universities in India, have a computer science bachelors and masters in economics, I am opening my own tech startup here and would have loved to open it in Canada and drive Canada's GDP. \n\nBut you know who get the highest score for PR? Low skilled people who do fake degrees(which are so easy to get it is lame, by the way I can also do it, but it will spoil by education reputation). The immigration system of Canada is a joke, It treats all degrees, jobs and universities as equal. Best of all I was offered to pay $20k by someone to get a Canadian PR. Again I can pay that much but do I want to immigrate to a country whose citizenship is being sold this cheap?\n\nTrust me when I say it Canada is getting the most average and at times the worst people from India. Indian government though should thank Canada for taking all these low skilled people from India that send Canadian Dollars back to India. They take away the middle class jobs, housing, etc in Canada and worse for Canada send back money to India leading to pressure on Canadian currency and reserves.\n\nThe simplest solution is to halt whatever nonsense immigration policy Canada has and only allow three kinds of immigration, people who secure high paying jobs in recognised companies, entrepreneurs that get funding from investors Canadian government recognises and count university scores only from top tier universities. Even Canadian born Indians are annoyed theres too many Indian immigrants entering Canada. Most are useless students who apply to B-rated colleges like Algoma or Conestoga (who makes millions off of them), and then dont get good paying jobs afterwards. Because they studied useless programs. These Indian students use college as a loophole to gain fast PR in Canada. Majority of them are scammers. Some become nurses and truckers because thats where the demand is. Then they sponser their entire families from India. This contibutes to over population growth, where the demand is high, and housing supply is low. Families will also pool their money together to buy houses. Problem: The Government Allows it.

As a immigrant who recently got Canadian citizenship, I would like to clear few things here. I noticed that the host of the show has some wrong perception in his mind for international students. I agree that the basic jobs should be allocated to the young population or elderly population and international student should sustain themselves, but on the other hand why don't' the colleges charge the same fees that they charge to domestic applicants ?...the international students pays 5X to 10X the fees that the local student pays for the same courses. Also, when the student applies for visa they already pay 20000K to a Canadian bank for the future monthly payments that they will get so sustaining is not a problem. most of these students work so that they can contribute to the 5X fees that they have to pay. Also, when it comes to skill, the students skills are assessed by the universities and colleges and only after that they come to Canada. If you see an immigrant working in Tim Hortons or Food basics, don't worry he will be out of there in 2 years to a high paying skillful job that local population won't do. Now, when I say all this the immigration problem is real, but it is not because of the student who comes here, pays higher fees and than work in Canada, pay higher taxes and contribute to GDP and economy. your problem is with refugees and immigrants who are brought in mass immigration, who does not have skills. Because this is the population which you brought with to match the labor shortage but can not work so you provide them subsidies, assistance etc. and dig a hole in government funds...…now for the host he seems to have an agenda against Indian immigrants in particularly. I don't mind that though we are used to it. I would like to provide a background to all the native Canadians who are wondering why the East Indian population is growing in Canada they are lot of education consultants back in India who market Canada as a lucrative country to immigrate brownie points for studying to get PR free healthcare free education till grade 12 so everyone is trying their best to come to Canada on a student visa.Once students come on a student visa they need to work 20 hours a week which they are legally allowed to work on international student visa so locals feel they are taking their jobs In US international students are only allowed to work on campus despite so many job opportunities.Colleges in Canada charge 4-5 times tuition which is profitable to the education industry and provincial government.Once these students Graduate they get open work permit where they can gain Canadian work experience and apply for PR and citizenship eventually.All this benefits the government and the educational institutions overall in terms of taxes and revenue..

Trying to find a job here in Canada is insane. i dont live near a big city by any means, but all low skill, fast food/grocery store jobs are now filled with punjabs. i see the job postings and i apply every time, but I'm constantly overlooked because i am not Punjabi. About the chicken and egg situation. It's not just immigrants who have this problem. I was born in Canada, lived here my whole life and I have had difficulty getting work. Even after going to college and applying to several jobs in that field, it seems no one wants to hire you unless you know someone in that job or you have 2-3 years experience in that field already.

These students were always supposed to come with enough money to survive. Years ago it was $10,000 & it needs to be increased to at least $20,000 or no entry! Businesses won’t hire Canadians it seems because of the government money they get to hire immigrants. I read constantly about people saying they’ve applied to upwards of 30 jobs and not one reply. Canada is not diverse anymore. When you go to GTA you will only see Indians and Blacks more. Australia accepts immigrants which they need. Australia don't care even if you study in Australian university but if you are not in their required profession list then you won't get PR. But in Canada you just need university degree and you can apply for immigration and you will get. Thousands of people who were rejected in Australia ended in Canada. And now international students mostly Punjabis coming for rural areas and end up becoming truck driver. Trucking industry is so saturated because of Punjabis. We don't need labour class because we have people for that. What we need is skilled people and educated which is short here.

I applied for canadian immigration in the mid 2000s. I ticked all the qualification. I am qualified and i even have enough money to support myself for more than a year even though i have lots of friends and relatives in canada. AND YET, my application was turned down. I have no idea what happened. Im also supposed to get my processing fee back after i was rejected but i never got them anymore. Then i read canada allowed even unqualified immigrants from other parts of the world just bcoz.... Maybe its a blessing in disguise for me coz many friends i know are coming back home. Why would they want to go to Canada. When they've got to apply. Americans southern border is wide open and a free for all those entering illegally. Plus you get a free life as an illegal migrant in the United States. Free housing, free medical, free food, free cellphone, free clothes, free childcare, free transportation. People who come to Canada after receiving their PR struggle way too much. When you apply for a job here, they require you to have 1 year of Canadian working experience. How does someone fulfill that criteria if they've just landed in a new country? The government should instead open PR for only blue-collar jobs, which are actually in high demand. The whole immigration program otherwise feels like a scam. You shouldn't be getting any points for your educational and professional qualifications in the application when, in reality, it's not going to help you afterward. Most of the people I know here are planning a relocation because they don't see themselves owning a house anytime soon.

The other six board members represent woke open-borders charities and religious organizations, including Catholic Charities USA, which has drawn Congressional scrutiny for allegedly “violating federal law and regulation, placing migrants and American communities at risk, and subjecting local communities to unreasonable burdens” by “facilitating the movement of illegal immigrants across our border.”\n\nLocalities and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) can apply for reimbursement – or, in some cases, advance funding – for a variety of activities to “support” illegal aliens. In addition to the aforementioned hotel stays and plane tickets, taxpayer money may go towards “legal aid” to help aliens get around our immigration laws, “translation services” so aliens don’t have to even bother learning the language of the country they’ve illegally invaded, “mental health” (a vague term that could encompass a wide range of expenses), up to $5,000 of reimbursement for big-ticket purchases like cars or A/C units, and/or payroll expenses for staff – including overtime.

I'm an immigrant and my immigrant friends and I were talking about exactly this just the other day. I'd like to add some context on why so few international students stay: they can't. Schools prey on this very fact. In international recruiting, these schools use the promise of thriving local industries and trot out graduates working locally as major draws to these expensive programs. Then once students are in Canada, many of these schools couldn't care less: they offer little or sometimes no housing support, no immigration advice (or in my case and many of my friends' cases: they give straight-up false immigration advice that can screw you over or even get you in trouble). There absolutely needs to be regulation and accountability for these predatory schools; I think a good starting point would be capping the number of visas they can apply for based on the number of housing units available (either on-campus or via local development subsidy and homestays). Tons of students come to Canada completely unprepared due to false promises made by these schools, and then get spit out into an egregiously inefficient and broken work visa system.\nMy immigrant friends and I are all highly skilled in our specific field. There are only a handful of people in the world (let alone in Canada) who can do what I do at the level I do it, so I would be incredibly difficult to replace if I left Canada. Despite that, and despite being Canadian-educated (Canadian resources invested in me that you'd want to keep in Canada), remaining in Canada has been a massive struggle for me and my friends. We individually spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars every year to apply for permits that have to be renewed annually, but take the government 6+ months to process. Because the government is so backed up, we have to apply for *extra* permits to bridge that gap (more money, and more work added to IRCC's already-long line of applications). I'm in limbo for the majority of the year where I can't switch employers, can't leave the country, etc. It's horrible. \nBut I have it better than most. Of the international students in my year, only I and one other student are still in Canada because the transition to work permits is so needlessly long and difficult. Even a graduate who does manage to get a work permit might have to sit unemployed for 6 months or more before that permit is active. How is a student supposed to survive without work for that long? In order for employers to even apply to sponsor a graduate, they often have to do a lengthy labor market impact assessment, and so these graduates are stuck in a holding pattern, and they're the lucky ones. Immigration is absolutely vital to Canada and I hate how quickly these stories turn to xenophobic rhetoric, but we have to make space in the conversation to take a look at how schools are exploiting students and policy loopholes, and why they're doing it, and address those problems. The current system isn't fair to anyone.

And don’t forget to mention racism faced by the immigrants and new comers even while applying energy level jobs and another point is refugees..they end up getting good govt job easily even after being incompetent.

I immigrated to Canada in 2010, and here are my experiences inside and outside Canada. I am grateful for a good education; having a Canadian passport opened up many opportunities in other countries to build a higher-level career. However, if I had known the amount of stress, health, and financial damage that I had to endure, I wouldn't have chosen to come to Canada. I would have remained in the US or EU countries where I could achieve even more without suffering to the level I did here. \n\nMisleading immigration promotion: The government-sponsored Canadian immigration program oversells what Canada can offer. It withholds information on the cost of living, chicken-and-egg problems like Canadian work experience is required to get a job at the same level as you are in, Canadian credit history is required to rent a proper apartment, Canadian education is required to secure a high-level job, etc. \n\nHiring process: I knew the Canadian system was not ideal for immigrants over a decade ago, but it got so bad now that even the born citizens are unable to survive. The Canadian government and employers lack a basic understanding that ambitious, high-achieving people immigrate to other countries for high-level positions using proper channels. It's ridiculous to see that Canada uses a point-based system to choose highly qualified personnel to enter their country yet expects them to pursue low-paying entry-level or labor jobs just because they have brown/black skin. At first, I thought having a Canadian degree and experience might help me get high-level jobs, and I didn't think how I spoke or looked would matter when I had high credentials to show off. So, I got my masters & Ph.D. from the Univesity of Toronto, which consistently ranks #1 in Canada. I have a bachelor's from a prestigious university in Asia and had a high-competitive, well-paid federal government job in another country. Still, none of that was recognized in Canada, and I had to volunteer for over 6 months, 10 to 12 hours/day, in a research lab that led to a funded PhD program. I worked even harder during my Ph.D. with many accomplishments, like 40+ research and leadership awards, internationally recognized scientific discoveries, and innovative technologies. I checked all the above and beyond in various domains (research, teaching, leadership, business, engineering consulting, collaborations, etc.). Yet, employers couldn't see past my race, gender, age, etc., and refused to give me the opportunity at the level of my qualifications. Luckily, I managed to secure short-term work in the UK & the US, and it changed even how I see myself. I was highly respected for my credentials, given higher positions than I applied for, and paid 3-4 times more salary and benefits. Of course, bias is an integral part of every society, but my race, gender, age, etc., were not as big of an issue to begin my career at the mid-career stage in these countries as opposed to Canada. \n\nHealthcare: Access to healthcare was another big challenge for me. When I moved to Canada in 2010, due to extremely low temperatures, I developed hives all over my body, my eyes got red, and I coughed for many months. The doctor said there was nothing wrong with me and refused to give me any medication. It took us years to get a family doctor, and we got one through my personal network. In 2015/2016, I developed an autoimmune disease, and my eyeballs popped out. As of today, I did not get to see an eye specialist as they have only 1 specialist in the area, and the waiting time is for years for the first consultation. Every time the family doctor told me that I had iron deficiency, even when I insisted that they should run additional tests and they cleared, they were flagged. The doctor never diagnosed my autoimmune condition. Luckily, during my short-term work in the UK, I saw competent interns who completed my care. NHS is poorer than the medical system in Canada... they are understaffed, don't have hospital beds after surgery, or don't have stock of paper gowns, yet the staff are highly competent and caring. Within 1-2 years, they did complete diagnosis by sending me to various specialists, completed eye surgery, and even found a lifelong condition that was preventing me from realizing my full potential. Following, in the US, the doctors confirmed the diagnosis of all the conditions within 1-2 months and put me on two small pills for life. It has dramatically changed my life, and I have even more admiration for the medical profession. While in Canada, I suffered for over a decade, and every time, I was treated as a hypochondriac and never given a single prescription. \n\nQuality of life: Big cities like Toronto are mainly affected by high crime rates, overpopulation, cost of living, low employment, low salaries, etc. A few months back, there was a huge auto theft, and one of my contacts lost their Lexus car within minutes of parking. Despite being a scientist, I have no faith in politicians or individuals fixing these problems. The salaries are not increasing, but the taxes and cost of living are on the exponential growth curve. The ridiculous part is that Canada expects you to pay taxes even when you are not employed or living in Canada! I lived in London and Boston, and they offer a much higher quality of life and pay. \n\nGrowth potential: No wonder Canada, being a G7 country, falls at the bottom of the list in innovation, equal opportunities, economic growth, etc. It has a decent education system but, due to its inherent bias in the hiring process and monopoly of certain businesses, loses talented immigrants and highly qualified Canadians to the US, the UK, and EU markets. Unless there is a dramatic shift in policies, Canadians, especially new immigrants, cannot expect any positive experience in Canada except for being discriminated against and losing valuable time and money by being there.

Canada is not livable anymore. For new immigrants it can be only bypass country. Live in Canada for 3 years, apply citizenship and get Canadian passport on 4th year of stay and move to USA. Settling down in Canada will be huge mistake for any new immigrants, life will be depressive hell paying overpriced mortgages & high taxes but in return get substandard education & health system…

Bottom line high cost of living including housing, but extremely poor prospects to get a well paying job that would ever allow you to buy a condominium or house in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. Sadly, what i just noted also applies to native born canadian. This country is going downhill, and its not just the foreign immigrants who arrive that want to leave, anyone who has aspirations of the american dream will also want to emmigrate out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing the info atleast it will be useful for millions of Nigerians,in my own case I used an agent and it was last year April 2022 but I didn't get the visa until this year 2023 and so I decided to embarked on d journey last month Oct but to my greatest surprise the immigration officers turned back from Cairo airport ,later I got the letter from my ircc stated that I used invitation letter to apply and what I applied with was my hotel booking so they asked me to replace some expired documents within 7 working days which I later did and then ive been waiting for their reply since, plz kindly assist me and explain to me better with your experience ma,thanks Yemi

Are you egging kidding me?\nI’m Canadian, moved from Alberta to Montreal and every one in Pauline Julienne school is an immigrant except perhaps 4 people, 3 from my family and a girl from Toronto .\nI had a rude awakening to find out the immigrants tuition is free - mine I had to pay for. Also the immigrants are GIVEN money to attend class 500 - 600 per person per month. So if it is a couple that is 1000/month and that is on top of the housing benefits they get for free.\nMy family had to no such benefit.\nAdditionally even though educated, because we are anglophones we could not get even menial jobs. I applied at a value Villiage and was denied because I did not speak French however a class mate in my “beginners” who also knew no French but was from Mexico did get a job there. (Hanging up cloths)\nSo this is a small example of Trudeau’s government giving preferential treatment to immigrants over Canadians.

tried to get funding from WorkBC for a program.....the lady with an east indian accent told me they prefer to give funding for people who have disabilities and immigrants only....as a born and raised tax paying Canadian i was perplexed by the people i pay with my taxes would treat me as though i'm not even worth being treated like way less important than people who are not even paying into the program im applying for
