I'm no expert, but it's obvious that mass immigration is detrimental to any country. Years ago, Canada seemed like a dream country, but in the last few years, it looks like the homelessness, crime etc. has increased and the housing prices are insane. I have a Sikh friend who lived there for about 5 years but moved back to India due to the high cost of living and quality of life there going downhill. He has a much better, low stress life back home. I think there should be stricter measures to immigration. For example: Let doctors, nurses, engineers, lawyers in more easily, but those that are coming as students and going to work as cashiers, should be limited.

When government leaders focus on population and economic growth that's usually is a sign that they aren't balancing the budget correctly. They're trying to increase tax revenue without increasing taxes. I'd look closer at government corruption. Overpopulation destroys the environment. Canada is one of the few places on earth that still has an environment. Russia and Australia are the other ones. Russia's strategy is to look sort of like an ogre and it's too cold. I thought it was interesting how you point out Trudeau's policy changes, but don't point out the prior PM(Harper) removing the 6 week vetting period on TFW's and other anti-labour moves that also vastly increased immigration. Despite the government not properly integrating people or providing services for our own countrymen, this immigration has also staved off demographic collapse by several decades.

There are hardly any quality career opportunities to attract high quality immigrants from India. Those who are educated, for them salaries have increased far more than western countries in India so they are choosing to stay back. You are getting the lot who think despite lack of education, earning Dollars is easy once you migrate.

Integration is key for Canada as a multicultural country to coexist. Immigration needs reforming i.e.no cash jobs whatsoever, intl students will have to intl student fees, no handouts to asylum seekers who aren't from a war torn country. Education is a Migration Pathway that is why education has increasingly become a gateway for migration, especially in countries like Canada, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. These immigrants are making life harder for regular Canadians in multiple ways. They often live and work without any legal documentation, supported by landlords and employers who are complicit in these illegal arrangements. Overall, these practices are making life significantly harder for regular Canadians.

IMO the big thing is that more housing and infrastructure need to be built to keep pace with people in an area - as housing standards are being violated - like 8 people living in an apartment is just extreme even for student housing. The crime rate dropped off massively we need to be careful about it increasing however more people equals more crime but equal or lower per capita crime rate. Poverty is always going to be poverty. The poverty issue is made worse because chornically unemployed pepole have seen their supports not keep up with inflation to the point its basically impossible to get housing on social safety net payments. This means that unemployed people basically end up homeless now. 7 m² per person for rooms with four or more occupants aged 18 or older. People should not just be packed into buildings that violate legal space and housing standards. The whole community IS government not a religious organization. This really frustrates me because the government should be insuring those standards are met not privatization of humanitarianism. Government should be humanitarian.

8:30 I don't buy it. They say we "have" to increase population because Canada has an aging population? Why? What wpuld happen if we don't? Increased quality of life? More affordable cost of living? I live in Brampton, i am all for diversity but where is the diversity if everyone is Indian. I am French originally and i am in a minority of one! Let's be clear, the massive Indian increase in the population is due to Trudeau's immigration policy, the indians did not jump over the border as some of the comments suggest, they mostly came here legally, and this was done without broad agreement of the Canadian population as a whole. Canadian population went from being 30 million inhabitants to 40 millions in just over a decade, a massive population increase in a short time due mostly to Indian immigration with huge impact on housing , cost of housing, infrastructure, jobs, taxes, etc... Immigration has increased because the government needs more people for the economy. The population 25+ years ago was enough to keep with the costs and demand. Now, Canada probably has a lot of demand and needs an influx of people both for education and jobs. Indians are enticed to come because they hear about towns that cater towards Indians like Brampton. Chinese people used to be the majority of immigrants and that was because Chinatowns would cater to them. Not to mention, these immigrants likely have temporary worker or student visas. These an whole thing with the student visas but I don't want to get into it. So Amazon and other large companies need a lot of workers for their demand and look outside of Canada to fill the job numbers. Meanwhile, Canadians that have been here for awhile are on the streets and jobless. So basically, Canada needs immigration for its demand but I think when too many people come all at once and from usually one country, Canadians will notice the change and feel the tensions that come with it.

I live in a small town i grew up in this town. We have had an huge increase in Indians migrate here and now teens can't find work where they used to be able to work at one of the fast food restaurants. our kids can't find jobs as teens because they are hiring foreign workers and having to pay less. new immigrants should only be allowed to work in construction building houses. thats it. immigrants should NOT be allowed to work in IT or any white collar jobs. immigrants should NOT be allowed to buy houses unless they build the house themselves by their own hands. immigrants should be increasing the housing supply, not decreasing it. immigrants should be required to build at least 1 house during their first year in canada, or be deported. only immigrants who have some experience working in construction can be allowed in. we should only accept young immigrants under 32, because only young people will assimilate. for those over 32 years old, must be rejected because they are too old and wont assimilate. immigrants should not be allowed into universities, theres no space and tuition is too high. only canada born canadians can attend universities. immigrants must also have a minimum net worth of $50K. their total assets of stocks, crypto, house, car, etc., must be at least $50K or deport. we dont need anymore poor immigrants!

For _years_, thoughtful and well-meaning people have been showing the evidence that massive over-immigration was detrimental to Canada. They were rewarded by being called r-ists and xenophobes. Turns out that, actually, they were right. Canada needs, right now, a 100% moratorium on all immigration for at least three years to allow infrastructure and health care to catch up. After that, a very slow and gradual increase to maximim 1% current population levels, with a strict focus on STEM and health care grads. Not their parents and grandparents and great aunts. And if any of them breaks the Canadian criminal code, they are deported within 24 hours.

Here's the root of most of the problems, its gov. policy, you take in a million new people a year, give them everything and your dollar ends up losing value, so even though your working hard, you cannot get ahead in this country. So you end up going into a debt that you can't pay off and the problems increase. Taxes go up value of the dollar keeps going down, so in the end its a no win situation for most of the general population and its the same when you retire, you get an income that's not enough even to pay for rent in the city you were brought up in. This is a very serious problem and gov. does not seem to do anything about it, food banks are overwhelmed along with medical staff, food prices and rents have gone out of sight as far as prices are concerned. We have a national debt that never gets paid and a gov. that spends more money than it takes in in taxes. And a dollar thats going to H in a handbasket. Too much crime, too much violence, too many traffic jams and too much drug use. I have written to this liberal gov. and told them how to fix these problems but they don't listen, their agenda is with the WEF, you will have nothing and you will be happy, right, no. Canada is now a bankrupt country and going to a third world status, I guess you get what you vote for and I did not vote for this gov. to ruin the country. Hey note that this is just the start, its going to get a whole lot worse down the road as we all suffer another great depression, then things really get bad.

The crime rate even in our city of saskatoon has sky rocketed phenomenally. My grandchildren are not safe anymore. And sex trafficking has also increased phenomenally as well. Just sickens my heart. My daughter in law hasn't been able to get a job for 3 years now and has put out 300 resumes. I had to wait 2 years for an mri and people are dying in the emergency rooms in our hospitals. I am not justfying the actions of these bad indians who has done these stuff. but we have to see the other side of it before making this a International Issue. Yes, few Indians are bad but not the entire community. Canada has its own needs that needs a lot of hands and support. So, only if we change our perspective beyond the emotional BS we exhibit, we can address the real issue with real solutions.
