I am an American and in firm support of the Canadian people, but definitely not Trudeau! Please recall not only his assault against the truckers a few years ago, but his desired seizure of GoFundMe monies that INDIVIDUALS sent to the truckers! Perssure later required him to take his hands off. And I've seen videos of how badly he treats Christians. I do not support Russia or China, but I do consider Trudeau to be of the same ilk. I don't worship Trump and will be actively communicating with those who represent me in the US govrrnment to let them know my desires. I am hopeful that in Canada someone better than Trudeau very soon takes his place.

I can only hope that Europe and the UK will not wait, but choose for a preemptive tariff. This way in total $1.5 trillion of US business will be hit, in a combined strike of China, Mexico, Canada and the EU. This Bullshit of Trump has to stop.

First and foremost let’s be reminded that Trump is doing this for Putin in retaliation to what the Biden administration did to Russia with the sanctions for invading Ukraine. Secondly, Trump wants to be King. By weakening our economy and putting millions of people at risk and ruining their lives, he hopes a civil war can be started so that Russia, North Korea and possibly China can attack us while at war with each other and the Federal Government.

US needs fentanyl to keep the population happy, it’s inevitable. If it can’t be imported then they have to produce it within. Same goes for India-Bangladesh-Myanmar border, China-Thailand border, Afghanistan-Russia border etc. The weaker country always take up the supplier role, it’s not politics but economics.

A message to Trudeau. Put an export tax on the Oil and Electricity sold to the United States. Open up new European Markets for Oil and Natural Gas product and sell directly to Europe and Japanese markets. China needs oil, there is plenty of market around the world for our products. The Tariff's imposed by Trump is only going to make product to the US more expensive for their own citizens, and with Tariff's on all American imports, if they can't make it, or they don't have the raw materials to make it themselves, they will have to pay more. It is not necessary to impose Tariff's on USA Products to penalize Canadians, but Canadians will find new markets to replace the US, and we won't even notice it happened. We have alternatives. The southern islands are great vacation locations, and with the weather disasters they have suffered over the past few years, they could use the tourist support to help rebuild, and, their people are friendly and don't carry guns.

Greetings from California! I stand with all of our friends in Canada, Mexico and China! I did not vote for this catastrophe but am definitely feeling the pain of these horrendous tariffs. My heart is with our friends up North and I hope you understand that many of us here in the US did not want this. We are plagued with a complete nut case for a President who was given the ultimate power of house and Senate majority plus the Supreme Court so there is no fix for the nightmare in the near future. All I can say is I am sorry for what we all have to endure now.

Apple, Taiwan, Japan, and honda already invested billions of dollars to America just to avoid tariffs. Like trump said, everything will be built in US soil, from steel, cars, technology chips, etc. In addition, America is the biggest consumer in commerce. These countries need the US dollar. It's either invested in America now and built your products in America or pay the tariffs. Your choice... oh, and for eggs, the US spends $110 million (2023) in eggs from China... Canada will just sell items to the EU and China, at zero tariffs, and tariff US products. US auto prices will increase to a point if unsustainability. The US will become more and more isolated. I think finally Canada realized that if they have friend like US then they don't need any enemy. You can't trust US at all and need to start open your market for global trade. I am glad that finally this happened cause sometimes you need a slap on face to wake up from a cozy bogus dream. Yes it will be painful few years for Canada but when time will come for fresh water and Arctic resources, it will be payback time to US. A move to weaken neighboring states, is a pretext for the occupation of Canada and Mexico. So rusia occupies Europe, china Asia and Africa, and US occupied N and S Americas

Canada (and many other countries) spent decades supporting the maintenance of US hegemony. Look what it got us? To a position where we're pretty much greatly dependent on, and at the mercy of the US. We need to invest more in our own country and make our own products. We should also trade with other countries regardless of what the US thinks of those countries. Trump wants Canada to put tariffs on China in the attempt to further impede that country's economic growth so the US will remain the economic hegemony. Never mind that a trade war with China would put Canada in an even worse position. Given the current events, I say we trade with China even more!

In my mind, the best case scenario is that trump and his regime are lacking the ability to think long term strategically. The worst case scenario is that they are throwing grenades at the status quo, to create fake reasons to allow for expansion of US territory and make space for china and russia to do the same.

If Russia or China decide to start WW3 and attack the country, the US will be completely alone. We took security for granted after WW2 but that's changing.

So can someone clarify for me something, the US is puttint tarrifs against 3 seperate nations about 25% each and then the nations are in turn implementing tarrifts on the US about 25% each, so in total about 75%, how does trump think this is a good idea, each nations that we have tarrifs on only have a fraction of the total tarrifs we will feel, or am I wrong for adding the tarrifs from china mex and canada ??

Picking a trade war with Canada, Mexico, China and major economics is a very bad idea. It will not bring anybody to the negotiation table to get a better deal. It will drive them away from US partnership and they form alliances, new trade routes and partnerships, de-dollarization, etc. Just think why does a country needs USD when they cannot trade with US. BRICS have overtaken G7 in the overall GDP. So, In the end, US will be left alone with limited trading partners. US people will need to pay for tax + tariffs which will put them in a downward spiral.

Trump also accuses China of fentanyl. The truth is, China produces a precursor or an ingredient of fentanyl and legally exports to pharmaceutical companies all over the world. Not like the drug dealers in the US call up China and say” hey China, hook me with some fentanyl, bro!”
